Hmmm. seems this is known issue by Microsoft because I found these MS knwoldge base article:
How to troubleshoot a Stop 0x0000007E error in Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/330182/EN-US/
Microsoft said that:
+these issues may occur if a system thread generates an exception that the error handler does not catch. You receive this error message if one or more of the following conditions are true:+
+ If this issue occurs after the first restart during Windows Setup, or after the Setup program is finished, the computer may not have sufficient hard disk space to run Windows.+
+ If this issue occurs after the first restart during Windows Setup, or after Setup is complete, the computer BIOS may be incompatible with Windows.+
+ Incompatible video adapter drivers.+
+ A damaged device driver or system service.+
+ If the issue is associated with the Win32k.sys file, it may be caused by a third-party remote control program+.
I would recommend checking the solution proposals published on the MS website.

  • T42 network connection problem after installing XP SP3

We have had problems with wireless connection after installing Windows XP SP3 on our T42 laptops.
To cut a long story short the solution was actually related to the driver for the wired ethernet card. With version 8.7.9.0 of the driver an ipconfig gave an error saying there was a hardware problem and new wireless connections could not be made without a wired connection being made first.
The solution was rolling back to driver version 7.2.17.101 at which point all the problems were resolved.
My question is what would be the pitfalls of rolling back to an older driver from 2004. In other words what is in the newer drivers that makes them 'better'. Will I now encounter a new set of problems?
Many thanks in advance for your support.

    Anthony, welcome to the forum,

  • Satellite Pro U400 - microphone reception problem after installing xp sp3

I had Vista then recently I installed windows XP SP3 from scratch (not downgraded). I downloaded latest drivers from Toshiba and installed them. Now I have a problem with microphone. Sound playback from speakers is well but reception level of built-in microphone is very low and often unrecognizable. I use a voip program. In Vista, microphone was working better.
Now in WXP, I am told that they can't hear me or my voice is very low and hardly recognizable. I also tried sound recorder in windows. My voice is like I am talking from ten meters away.
I don't have an external microphone so I can't tell if line-in micro. is working well.
In previous posts people mention downloading a hotfix for xp sound issues but I am not sure if applies to my situation.
    Thank you
    Erdem

I did not use the recovery disc. I used another disc I have with SP3. So, I had to install the drivers manually. Everything is perfect now except the microphone. I re-installed sound drivers today, nothing changed. I think tempro is for Vista only.
Microphone is recognizedby the system but the problem is it does not capture the sound properly.
In my voip software, there is a test for microphone. I can see the bar moving as I speak but I can not hear my own voice when play the record, even at 100% volume, just some noise and a low .
If I check the "microphone boost" from properties, I can hear my recorded voice but with a lot of noise and still lower than normal volume.
Can it be related to another drive or some adjustment I overlooked? I also applied the recommendations for sound quality that are on Skype help pages.
    Short model no is PSU41E.
    Thanks

  • Acrobat Reader 8.1.2 network print issue after installing XP SP3

I administer a network of 30+ workstations, and since installing Acrobat 8.1.2 and Windows XP Service Pack 3, I've been experiencing odd behavior from the print function in the reader.
Staff can open a pdf document with no issues, but when they try to print to a network printer, nothing happens. I then in turn open wordpad on their workstation, do a "File, Print", and the print functions properly.
I then can go back to the reader, and the print job will work.
Nothing has changed on my network in regards to previous settings, with the exception of installing reader 8.1.2, and XP SP3.
    Any ideas, or potential solutions?

You are not alone. I hope you get some response. We have seen nor heard anything.
    See: http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/?13@@.59b56569/6
Title: Adobe Reader v8.1.2 Compatible with Windows XP Pro SP3
One ray of hope is that it seems to be getting quicker. I don't know why but I'll take it!
When I go to this Windows XP link,
    http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/windowsxp/default.mspx
it says I am running SP2 instead of saying I am running SP3, which is what my System Properties says is installed. Just something to think about and perhaps check.
    Good luck!

  • Portege R500 - Can't install built-in Bluetooth drivers in XP

I've recently installed XP, and all is well (except for having to switch the drive into compatability mode to solve the SATA issue) except for one thing that is driving mee up a wall: I can't install the Bluetooth stack. It gets to the point where it asks me to plug in the device, but that's it.
I downloaded first the stack in my model's download page (6.1), and then later on 6.4 from Toshiba's Bluetooth support page -- neither one works. I tried the Bluetooth Monitor, this appears to do nothing except delete the Bluetooth items from out of the Toshiba program menu.
Right now, there is a yellow antenna icon lit up in the track pad LED display.
Pressing FN-F8 appears to do nothing (also, the wifi is working fine using Intel drivers).
The BIOS was recently updated to the latest version.

    Hi
First of all are you sure that your notebook has been equipped with the internal BT module?
Can you see some BT labels at the bottom of the unit?
If the notebook supports the internal BT module then the BT stack installation should run smoothly.
After executing the exe in BT stack folder/package the installation should run through all the installation steps and after new reboot you should enable the BT using the key combination FN+F8.
Using this buttons you can switch between Wlan and BT. Choosing BT you should be able to configure the BT.

  • Unable to connect to internet using Wireless WPA after installing XP SP3

    Hi guys,
Just installled XP SP3 on my X40 and now I cannot connect to a WPA wireless network.  I have updated the drivers etc but still no luck.
Has anyone else got this problem and been able to fix it.
I'm sure that if I uninstalled SP3 then it would work but I'd rather get a fix.
Message Edited by mundo on 08-13-2008 12:57 PM

I, too, am unable to get a good "connected" session with WPA.
I have tried Windows Wireless:  stays in the mode: "Authenticating."
I have tried Intel Proset Wireless: stays in the mode: "Connecting."
I have tried Access Connections: stops after saying "Waiting for association."
These different programs allow me to set up WPA profiles, and they see wireless networks and can communicate with them.
    I am on a Thinkpad T-42 (2373-Y3U).  Intel adapter 2200bg.  Windows XP Pro, SP3.
I have tried WEP, and it works fine.  Other computers connect to (multiple, different) routers with WPA that I have tried, to no avail.
I loaded latest Intel driver (file name: 7vwc15ww.exe, dated July 29, 2008).  But does not work...
I have tried going back to old drivers, but does not work. I have tried the steps: unload driver, load HotKey, Load PowerManagement, Load Access Connections, as described elsewhere, but does not work.
Why is this so hard.  Should be a no - brainer, it seems to me.  I've spent hours...
     Thanks, Todd

  • After installing Windows SP3 - no PC Suite connect...

    Can anyone help?
Have recently installed Windows Service Pack 3 and could then no longer synchronise my E90 with PC Suite. The Nokia Connections Manager has no connections even when the phone is connected by USB cable. Have reinstalled PC Suite but no success.
    Thanks for any help

You have to restore the iPod via iTunes and then sync. The iPod is seeing the reformatted computer as a new iTunes library and you can only sync with one iTunes library.
BTW you posted in the iPod touch forum.

  • Portege R500 - How to install 3G-drivers on Windows 7?

I have the PPR50E with the built in 3g-card.
I am unable to install the vista-drivers for the 3g-card, and I haven't found anything on google either.
Anyone gotten it to work on windows 7?

    Hi
Did you try to install the 3G driver/software released for the Vista OS.
Did it work on Win 7?
I noticed that many Vista drivers and tools would be compatible with Win 7.
It seems that the 3G module is from Novatel.
I found the Novatel software on the Toshiba European page.
    Check it!

  • Re: Portege R500: Contros button doesn't work after installing update

After installing the most recent version of Toshiba's Value Added Package, the two buttons (toshiba assist and backlight on/off) do not work properly: they open instead a firefox browser window.
I assume there is something to configure in the "optimisation" section of Toshiba Assist.
When I open the program "Toshiba buttons functions" (sorry for the puny translation, in Spanish it's called: "Funciones de botones de Toshiba") all the entries are blank and I have to indicate the Url of the program supposed turning off my LCD's backlight...
I have no clue where to find this executable.
    Can anybody help me?

    Thanks for the response.
I hope I don't have to use such an extreme solution. Mainly because I *really* don't have time for restoring an OS. Furthermore, if I have to restore everything every time I update the computer: what is the point of updating?
There must be a more subtle solution... don't you think?

  • Need WXP drivers for a Portege R500-106

Where can I find XP drivers for a Portege R500-106? Driver download page only has XP WLAN driver and no others.

    Hi again
Sorry I thought this new notebook is just Vista preinstalled. Other way I do not understand why you need WXP drivers when you can install recovery image that contains all necessary drivers, tools and utilities. As I can see WXP Pro should be preinstalled on this notebook. Is it not good enough for your work?
By the way: some drivers you can also find on http://209.167.114.38/support/Download/ln_byModel.asp#
Usually if you have European model you should use stuff designed for European models but you can use offered drivers from Canadian download page.

  • Issues after installing Hotfix Rollup 5 for SP3

    Hi,
Last weekend we installed Hotfix Rollup Pack 5 for SP3 on our (single) Exchange 2010 Enterprise server.
This was needed to fix the WebApp Light issue with IE11 and to fix the problem where users were unsable to delete mails sent from multifunctionals.
These 2 issues were fixed by installing the hotfix rollup pack, but now our users have different problems...
Some users (not all of them, haven't found a common denominator yet) report that they don't see new mails in their Outlook 2010 box, even though they got the envelope notifier.
When they change folder and back to the Inbox the new mail is suddenly visible.
Same sort of "delay" happens when users mark a message for follow-up or try to change a message from unread to read.
Some users also report that they see delegated mailboxes (mailboxes from other users that they have full mailbox access to) twice in their Outlook 2010.
Outlook 2010 is running in online mode (because it's running on terminal/citrix servers), so it's no issue with caching as far as I understand.
I've already checked if there are any updates for Outlook available, but we've installed them all already.
    I though I'd found something:
Noticed a lot of errors in the application log on the Exchange Server which pointed me to this:
    http://theintegrity.co.uk/2010/08/mapi-session-exceeded-the-maximum-of-500-objects-of-type-objtfolder/
I've added the registry values now with a value of 1500, but unfortunately this didn't help.
The errors in the eventlog are gone, but even after restarting the IS some users still have these problems.
One user reported that it takes about 7 minutes for a read mail to actually switch to "read" when looking at his inbox.
Did anyone else notice these problems? And maybe have a fix for them?
I really don't want to roll back the update :(
I even rebooted the Exchange Server after installing the rollup even though that wasn't even necessary
    Thanks in advance!
    Regards,
    Jeroen

Correct - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2925273 discusses this issue.
If you do raise a support case to request this, please ensure that you review and understand the requirements for IU installation and removal.
For example:   You *MUST* manually remove it prior to installing Exchange 2010 SP3 RU6.

  • After installing SP3 for BO XI R1 - Crystal Reports taking forever to run.

    Hello,
We are running BO XI R1 SP3.  Ever since installing SP3 a number of our scheduled Crystal Reports are taking forever to run.  The Business Objects server resources are okay, CPU never really gets above 50% so I figure perhaps it's our SQL Server.
We run SQL 2005 and CPU on that hovers around 30%, we've got 4 2.6GHz CPUs with 16GB of RAM.  Looking in SQL Server activity monitor the reason the reports are taking some time is that the wait types are generally CXPACKET.
For example a report used to process in a minute however after installing SP3 the report now takes several hours.  Since we've 4 CPU's on our SQL Server activity monitor creates four sessions for the report to try and process it in parallel.  However all of those four sessions have a wait type of CXPACKET.  This I understand is related to parallelism and people have said to reduce that so nothing runs in parallel.
However I should not have to do that as things used to run just fine, there is no physical reason (i.e. RAM / CPU / HDD) that reports are locked waiting in SQL server.  Has anyone else had this issue or have any suggestions on how to fix please?
    Kind regards,
    Chris Rutherford

XIR2 has two different redistributable MSI packages.  One is compatable with 1.1 framwork applications and the other is compatable with 2.0 framework applications.
try downloading the SP3 MSIs from [here|https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100009656792008E/crxir2sp3_net_si.zip]
    this will have both MSIs
    - CrystalReports11_5_NET.msi          (for 1.1fwk applications)
    - CrystalReports11_5_net_2005.msi   (for 2.0fwk applications)
rename the CrystalReports11_5_net_2005.msi to CrystalRedist115_x86.msi and replace the existing file in the Bootstrapper folder path
Uninstall the last install, rebuild and try your Click-Once install again.  This time you should have the 11.5.3700.0 runtime.

When I conncet to IfoView, it seems to work, except some activex buttons are "red Xed".
    Thank you for your help,
    Alex

Error-Page tags work best with an error.html pages. If you have an error.jsp page what I would do, and I have, is wrap my classes and jsp pages in a try catch block where you forward to the error jsp page and display anything you want. YOu can also do this with if else statements. I have used the tomcat error pages before but when I've implemented them I used java.lang.Exception as the error to catch not Throwable. I don't know if this would make a difference or have anything to do with your problem.

  • Error after install SP3 and FixPack 2.5 in BO XI 3.1

    Hello all,
We have a problem in BO after install SP3 and FP 2.5 in BO XI 3.1.
Some pages like Infoview and CMC are with wrong words, for example :
In CMC when access one Report and try reschedule it, the page where we configure the properties shows some wrong words and the button "Shedule" is in this format : "???schdule.button.schedule???" and all words "Schedule" in others place too.
Some one knows How can I solve this problem?

    SP3 should include FP 2.5
