Portfolio and Project Management

Hi All,
We have applied the business package for Project Management and Portfolio Management and it is working fine but it only works fine if Super Admin Role is assigned to the user with Project Management and Portfolio Management Role.
We need to provide only 2 Roles i.e.,Portfolio Management Role and Project Management Role not Super Admin, how to achieve that pls help.

Looks like you would have to play around with the permissions to resolve this.
1.In the PCD, where you find the Project Management and Portfolio Management folder, right click and open permissions, ensure you add the everyone group there and have the enduser checked.
2. In the system administration-system configuration-system folder, check if you have any system created for the Project Management and Portfolio Management, right click and open the permissions, ensure you add the everyone group there and have the enduser checked.
This should help resolve the issue with out the super admin role

Thanks very much for taking the time to post the info Florian. I will update this thread as well if I run into any new information.
Do we have any idea on SAP's direction for Product Definition? PD is still version 2.0 and I heard that PD functionality will be incorporated into PPM 5.0 which does make a lot of sense. I very briefly went through the notes and config doc in this post and did not get the impression that PPM has any idea and concept management capabilities.

I have no clue about recovering the info, but when you say you save you should always use Save As. That clears unneeded info from the file. With the file size you have, that may be an important need.

Task dependencies and scheduling in Oracle projects and project management

Am I correct in the belief that Oracle projects/project management does not have the ability to create, manage and track dependencies between tasks in a project ? And to achieve that micro level of planning I need to use something like Microsoft Project Integration ?

Project integration is the link between Oracle Projects and MS Projects.
If you want to define dependencies between tasks, MS Project is best bet
for you.

Master Pages / Sync topic list and Project Manager

Hi,
Is there an easier way to see if I've applied my Master page to all my topics rather than right-clicking and checking Properties for each topic? No indication of a Master page shows up in my topic list and there isn't a report I saw to identify this. What I have in my Master page is code so it would not be apparent by looking at output.
Also, is there a way to sync the highlighting within RH to the topic I'm working on. For example, if I'm working in a topic and it's highlighted in my topic list, the same topic isn't highlighted in the Project Manager?

If you look at the Topic List pod you should be able to see a column labeled Master Page.
Click image below for larger view.
If you don't see this column, you might need to scroll the scroll bar to the right. Note also that you may drag the column header to place it next to the Topic name if you like. Also, you may need to right-click the column headers in order to enable the Master Page.

OMF, XML, and project management all failing with exports.

I'm having trouble pinning down what exactly is going on but I'm unable to export any of these. OMF takes much longer than normal and ends with a very long export log. When I use try creating a new project via project management, the export claims to have failed.

Ok ... totally PC here and not the most experienced person around by a few thousand or so ... but I'll make a stab.
First, is the footage and export locations on "internal" drives (connected directly to your mobo w/high-speed connections) or is one or the other remote/network or otherwise a slower connection?
Second ... Plural Eyes modified footage on the Mac has resulted in quite a few threads around here ... there've been some hiccups with that combo'd with PrPro. So ... there's something to consider. You might see if some footage you've got that isn't Plural-Eyed has the same issues. If not ... well ... there's the problem.

Any recommendations on productivity for database and project management, Bento was good but no longer sync with ical and address book

I've unfortunately updated to the new Bento on MakBook and iPad and synced my data and in the process it tells me that iCal and Address books will not sync any more. I have several projects I am working on and looking for something that will syn with iCal, address book and Busy Cal to manage my time efficiently and seamlessly. Help?

I think you're in the wrong forum - this is for developers, who write programs for apple products.
As for Bento, their problem is due to Apple's changes in the API. The code that syncs with calendars and contacts is now deprecated, which means at some point in the future, it will no longer work. This problem will affect all developers, so you probably won't find any replacement for Bento.

Event and Project Management

My FCP video folders and files are now on an external Raid array. However I have legacy FCP folders and other material on my internal raid array and on my Mac HD drive. When I create a new Event, I do so on the external raid array. However, I seem to have no control over where the associated project file is then created. Sometimes it appears on the external array, along with the event. More often it is on the Mac HD drive or the internal raid. How can I easily force it to use the external raid for my project files? I use Event Manager, but it doesn't seem to offer any selection facility for new files.

ICal and Project Management - Scheduling

Hi list,
I am looking for a program which will expand iCals capabilities at project scheduling. Would anyone have any suggestions for a program which would integrate with iCal i.e. take my iCal information into a project managemnet and scheduling environmnet and reintegrate that infomation back into iCal so I can use it's reminders and shared calendars features.

A contract with the intent to buy from vendor, which you set up on OKE, will be linked to the purchasing documents, such as requisition and PO. The project you link for such contract will become the project distribution of PO, and will be later on go into the AP supplier invoice distributions. The cost of the supplier will charge to that project.
A contract with the intent to sell to your customer, which you set up on OKE, will be linked to the agreement and funding in Oracle Projects. Invoices to custmer will be generated on that project using Projects Billing.
