Portfolio Feature in Adobe CreatePDF

I would like for my students to be able to create an e-portfolio.  These students would not necessarily take full advantage of the Creative Cloud subscription.   The main goal of the class I'm teaching would be create a well-designed portfolio that integrates a good bit of work they've already done - but is more likely assembling Word, PowerPoint, Excel and other types of files.  I see that an annual subscription to AdobeCreate PDF is less inexpensive than a subscription to Creative Cloud and didn't want to the students to subscribe to anything they were most likly not using.
Given that the goal is to assemble an eportfolio - largely assembled from MS Office Products, what Adobe Product would you recommend?
Thanks!

Hi,
Thank you for your interest in Adobe Products.
Combine Files tool can combine the supported files (See http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat-com/kb/using-createpdf.html#main_File_types_you_can_convert _to_PDF) into a single PDF file.  Maximum number of files that can be combined is 12 files. If you need to combine more than 12 files you use the combined file as the input file for the next combine operation. This is a part of CreatePDF subscription.
Another way is to use the Portfolio feature in Acroat XI Pro and you can find the feature at page 187 of http://helpx.adobe.com/en/pdf/acrobat_reference.pdf.
Please download Acrobat XI Pro trial version from www.adobe.com to try out the feature.
You can subscribe Acrobat Plus and please see for more information at https://www.acrobat.com/acrobatplus/en/home.html
Please let us know if you need more information.
Thank you.

  • Merge Versus Portfolio Feature in Adobe Pro 9

I am new to this program and learning as I go. I am in commercial real estate and have a need to send clients spread sheets, word documents, jpegs and pdf files. Instead of sending all of these seperately I want to put all the documents into one file and send it as a presentation. At first I thought the portfolio feature would be the best option. After creating a portfolio of all these different formatted documents I opened it to see how it would look for one of my clients to view. It started giving me prompts before I opened documents . I also understand that the recepient would need to have the latest Acrobat Reader to view this type of presentation. My intention is to make an easy organized presentation for my client, not to create something that could become very complicated and time consuming for the end viewer. Would I be better off just merging all these documents and if so can I create a cover page with my logo and table of contents for my Merged file like I can with a portfolio? Thank you for your help as I am a newbie and need all the help I can get.

frstrsystemI make a fix, here it is:
    1) I launch acropro 9 on the server, I go to the view->toolbars->tasks menu to  the "tasks" toolbar (which cause the crash).
    2) on the server, run regedit and go to current user\software\adobe\adobe acrobat\9.0 and export this hive on a file like acrobat9_user.reg
    3) create a acro9pro.cmd file with
    regedit /S n:\scripts\acrobat9pro_user.reg
    @start "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 9.0\Acrobat\" Acrobat.exe
save this file on the server
publish your app and call the CMD instead of the acrobat file
trick; you can map drive into the cmd so that user can access network shares and not only the server on.

  • Installation of Portfolio feature into Acrobat XI standard

I purchased and installed Acrobat XI standard.  During the installation I was offered a free copy of the Portfolio feature for registering the software.  I downloaded the Portfolio feature software and installed it.  How do I access the feature?

    Hi BobBend,
Portfolio feature is limited to the Professional version only.
Are you trying to create a form or a portfolio ?
You Can refer to the link below, it compares the features which are avaialble in Acrobat XI Standard and Pro.

  • Cannot Install "Adobe CreatePDF Desktop Printer"

According to the Help Page titled "Create PDF Files", I should be able to download the installer for the "Adobe CreatePDF Desktop Printer". Supposedly, when I click "Create PDF" on my Acrobat.com main page, I will have an option to "Install Adobe CreatePDF Desktop Printer". However, when I click on "Create PDF",  this option is not presented to me. Instead, I only have the option to "Upload a file to convert it to PDF". How do I install the "Adobe CreatePDF Desktop Printer"?
    Thanks

  • Does Adobe CreatePDF support Mac System 10 Leopard OS?

Does Adobe CreatePDF support Mac System 10 Leopard OS?

    Good day,
Adobe CreatePDF is a web-based service.  All you need is an internet connection, a modern browser and Flash Player installed.  You can see the full system requirements here: http://www.adobe.com/acom/systemreqs/
Note - The CreatePDF desktop printer, which is an optional install for CreatePDF is a Windows-only feature.
Please let us know if you have any questions.
    Kind regards,

  • Known issues with the Adobe CreatePDF Printer

    Hi, everyone.
Hopefully if you're a subscriber to the CreatePDF service, you've discovered an incredible feature called the Adobe CreatePDF Printer. It allows you to convert ANY printable file type to PDF. You can learn more about it here. Instructions on how to set up the printer are here. It's available on Windows only.
However, I did want to highlight that there are a couple of known issues with the CreatePDF Printer which we have work-arounds for.
If you're having issues installing the CreatePDF Printer, please read this article: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/904/cpsid_90492.html
If you've installed the CreatePDF Printer but the printer is not working (on Windows 7 SP1), please read this article: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/901/cpsid_90130.html
Finally, if your CreatePDF Printer is appearing as "offline" in your printer list, please try this work-around: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4183649#4183649
If you encounter any additional issues with the CreatePDF Printer, please don't hesitate to let us know via this forum.
    Thanks, and happy PDF-ing.
    Dave, Adobe

Vertically installed super slim DVD drives are not as reliable as a plain desktop burner. I've had one fail in two of three iMacs and have always had an external which I use most of the time. Other than that, the brand new iMacs do not have a Super Drive, so if that is what you are inquiring about, the point is moot. You need to buy an external anyway. As far as speed, I have never used a burner at high speed - unless you have a professional model, you can easily get burn errors when burning at a fast speed; sometimes consumer models do well burning with high speeds , other times not.

  • How do I get the PDF Convert feature of Adobe Acrobat Pro Extended 9.4.4, which makes a PDF of a web page interactive, to work in Firefox 4.0.1?

I just installed (on my Windows 7 Ultimate (64 bit) operating system/Intel i5 CPU M560 2.67 GHz) and am now using as my default browser Firefox 4.0.1 because Internet Explorer 9 was giving me so much trouble--lack of display of web content, lack of PDF reproduction when web content displayed, screwball formatting display, etc., all of which has been remedied by the mere installation of Firefox 4.0.1.
How do I get the PDF Convert feature of Adobe Acrobat Pro Extended 9.4.4, which converts a web page to an interactive PDF, to set up and work on Firefox 4.0.1?

You can not do that using Adobe Acrobat 9. Adobe never made a create PDF add-on for Firefox for use with Adobe Acrobat 9. They created a Firefox add-on for use with Acrobat X, but currently that one does not work with Firefox 4 though Adobe are working on an update.

  • "Copy Multiple" feature in Adobe Acrobat CS5

Does a version of the "Copy Multiple" feature from Adobe LiveCycle Designer exist in Adobe Acrobat CS5 when working on editing PDF forms?  And if so, can someone please explain how to get there?  Thank you.

Right-click on a field (Object Select tool) and select: Place Multiple Fields

  • Find feature in Adobe Reader

How do I use the Find feature in Adobe Reader?  I used the Print PDF feature then copied the file from a Windows 7 computer to a CD-ROM and am trying to use it on a Windows 8 computer.  The file opens but I cannot use the Find feature.  Please help and thanks!

Try opening Adobe Reader on it's own then use File>Open (let's be sure that Reader is opening the file). Does Find work?
If it does, you just need to change your file associtaions so that Reader opens pdf files by default.
    Here's how: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/choose-programs-windows-uses-default

  • How does Adobe ExportPDF differ from the export feature in Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.0?

How does Adobe ExportPDF differ from the export feature in Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.0?

ExportPDF is based on a newer conversion engine than the one found in Acrobat 9.0.  They're similar in some respects, but ExportPDF is more advanced.

  • How can I edit a form that has "Extend Features in Adobe Reader"?

I created a form in Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 and added Extend Features in Adobe Reader. I need to edit the form, but "Save a Copy" isn't removing the "Extend Features...". I get an error message that I can't edit the form & to "save a copy" in order to edit. What can I do?

When I saw the responses, I pulled out an old version and started over. I already deleted the one that wouldn't revert from extended functions and the copy I created to edit it based on removing extended functions with "save a copy". Thanks anyway. I'd love to know why it wouldn't remove extended functions.

  • Where do my Adobe CreatePDF Desktop Printer Files Go?

I've spent hours looking through the Adobe website for a simple answer to a simple question.
One reader replied that all you have to do is log on to your account and you will find the document right there.  Good guess, but sorry.  Not so.  Just to test his theory I printed 500,000 pages.  I watched the Windows 7 print window to make sure all pages got spooled and printed.  They did, but they cannot be found.
My congratulations to Adobe for the company with best no customer support support.  Once I log on there is no where to enter a simple question.  You can however enter something to start a discussion.  Maybe, just maybe someone might happen along and make a correct guess.  Who knows?
And then you find a page like this one:
Whoops.  Just like Adobe.  Set up a window to enter an Image.  Select the image, meet the requirements.  Select the image.  An hour later no image, no error message, but the window is still up and active.
When you open the Printer window, and it shows the files printing to Adobe CreatePDF Desktop Printer, why do some files have the status of "error?"  What does "error" mean?  Where can I find what "error" is there and how to fix it?  Or am I just some dumb ******* who gives up my money for nothing in return.
Adobe is as adobe has always been.  Impossible to navigate.  Slow, slow, slow.  And impossible to get any customer service.  And I am the dumbhead that pays for it.

This document should help explain a bit What is the Adobe CreatePDF Desktop Printer and how do I install it? The files get stored back in your online account.
Also, make sure you have this information completed as well.

  • Unable to use Adobe CreatePDF Desktop Printer

I want to convert a web page (html) to a PDF document. When I tried to do this using my Adobe PDF Pack, I received a message indicating that I would have to do it using the Adobe CreatePDF Desktop Printer. So, I downloaded and installed the Adobe CreatePDF Desktop Printer as directed.   I went to the web page and printed the document to the Adobe CreatePDF Desktop Printer, as directed in the instructions.  I received the following error message:  Could not open the file. Access is denied.
    What do I do now?

I get exactly the same result.  It doesn't work.  Please note that I am
trying to SAVE the web page as a PDF file.  That is, I am trying to convert
a web page (html) to a PDF document.   I am not trying to print it.  I want
a copy of the PDF version of the web page to save on my computer.
In any event, printing it does not work.   I get the same error message I
indicated in my first missive.  And, yes, my printer is working just fine.
Please:  tell me how to use the
    <http://forums.adobe.com/message/5836668#5836668> Adobe CreatePDF Desktop
Printer to convert a web page to a PDF document.  When I try to do that,
using my Adobe PDF pack, I get this message:
"Adirondack-Wildfl ... ng-Shrub-List.html" is in a format not supported for
    conversion to PDF.
You can save the file to one of the supported formats or use the PDF printer
for Windows to convert the file. For a list of supported file formats
    <https://createpdf.acrobat.com/redir/cpdf_cpdf_supported> click here"
When I clicked on the link, I received these instructions:
    e_to_PDF>
    http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat-com/kb/using-pdfpack.html#main_Convert_a_file
toPDF   This page included the following:
"To convert a file type not listed above, use
    <http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat-com/kb/using-pdfpack.html#main_adobePDF_desk
top_printer> Adobe CreatePDF Desktop Printer. " So, I clicked on that link
and downloaded the Adobe CreatePDF Printer.  I followed these instructions:
    "Print To PDF Setup
The Adobe CreatePDF Desktop Printer lets you convert any file (in a
printable format) to PDF by printing it from an application on your desktop.
The resulting file is saved automatically to your Adobe PDF Pack account,
and you receive an email when conversion is complete. The desktop printer
functionality is available for Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7. You
don't need any special hardware to print to Adobe CreatePDF Desktop Printer.
To print to the Adobe CreatePDF printer, first install and configure the
Adobe CreatePDF Desktop printer. Then, open a file in its native application
and choose the print function. Select the Adobe CreatePDF Desktop Printer
from the printer list, choose the appropriate print settings, and then print
the file. Adobe CreatePDF Desktop Printer converts the file to PDF, and then
stores the PDF file in your Acrobat.com account."
So, the instructions say that the Adobe CreatePDF Desktop Printer will
convert a file to PDF and store it in my Acrobat.com account.  It doesn't do
that.  I tried just printing it (after selecting Adobe CreatePDF Desktop
Printer).  I also tried printing to file.  In both cases, I get an error
message, and there is no file stored in my Acrobat.com account.
    It doesn't work.
    Please fix!
