Portion of email account is deleted

I was looking through my email the other night (on my smart phone) and noticed that a portion of it has been deleted- Oct 2013 through June 2014. I have since checked on my computer and the same thing appears there. What happened? I am so bummed that almost 8 months of my inbox emails are GONE.
any suggestions on what to do or what might have happended?

You say the other night... were you by any chance a little drunk and pressed lots of random buttons indiscriminately (that happens to me all the time...)

I've wondered about this issue as well. I have multiple email accounts, some old ones that I don't use much, others setup for support of particular projects/groups.
I have no idea how and/or why some notes are linked to a particular account.
I'd much prefer to have the ability to link all of them to an account of my choosing, thus when emailing from a note tied to a specific email account, that account would automatically be used to perform that email.
But more importantly, why can't we be allowed to create 'folders' that function the same way as the Finder on my Mac. This file structure could then be accessed by every iOS app and device.
This type of file structure would be a god-send for the camera roll on my phone. I HATE having all my pictures in one huge clump (cloud?)! After all, who wants to live under a cloud all the time?

I would like to know how to verify my iCloud account after it being "not verified".Also, my previous email was deleted and it asks me to check my email in order to verify the iCloud account. I am worried that if I delete my iCloud account and create a new one, all my data will be wiped out and I will not be able to transfer important data among multiple devices.

But I have an idea! Do you suppose I can reset my iPod touch to default>Have all my data on iTunes/folders>Set iPod touch as a new device> Create a new account with my fresh email>Connect to iTunes>Back up!

Deleting an email account WITHOUT deleting emails sent to it

I haven't dared try this for awhile so forgive me (and let me know) if this has been fixed in a recent upgrade of mail.
I have several email accounts in mail. I need to keep the mail sent to one of the addresses that I no longer use (because it got too much spam). Last time I tried to delete the account, every single email ever sent to that email address was deleted as well. As they are business emails I need to keep, this is VERY problematic. My messages are all neatly filed in about 60 separate project folders within mail.
So my question is - how do I keep the mail messages but delete the account?
At the end of the day I need to be able to access the mail messages again by using some kind of search function. They don't necessarily have to stay in mail but they do need to be accessible again. Is this possible?

Deleting a POP account only deletes the messages stored in the account’s mailboxes. If you move those messages to custom “On My Mac” mailboxes or to the mailboxes of another account, you won’t lose them. It’s not that Mail goes after your mail trying to delete as much as it can. It’s just that if a mail account is deleted, then its mailboxes cannot exist anymore...
And just to be clear, it’s not just the messages in Inbox that would be deleted if you delete the account. Messages in any of the other account’s mailboxes (i.e. Drafts, Sent, Trash, Junk) would also be deleted if you don’t move them to other mailboxes as well.
Alternatively, a quick and simple procedure to create a duplicate of the account’s mailbox structure as “On My Mac” mailboxes would be importing them doing File > Import Mailboxes, choosing Mail for Mac OS X as the data format, and selecting the ~/Library/Mail/POP-username@mailserver account folder.
That said, instead of deleting the account right away, you can just disable it (i.e. turn OFF Preferences > Accounts > Advanced > Enable this account), leave it that way for some time, and delete it only after making sure you didn’t miss anything while the account was disabled.
BTW, if you back up your data, and the ~/Library/Mail folder in particular, you won’t have to worry about accidentally losing anything as a result of doing something like that...
Note: For those not familiarized with the ~/ notation, it refers to the user’s home folder. That is, ~/Library is the Library folder within the user’s home folder, i.e. /Users/username/Library.

Iphone 5S email doesn't mirror netzero email account - cannot delete emails

When I delete emails on iphone 5s, message aren't really deleted on netzero email account. Also, after deleting messages on pc, same email still shows up on phone.

The best I can tell, Netzero's mail service is limited to POP, which presents some issues when using on multiple devices unless you stick to the web interface. With POP, the messages are downloaded to the device, either leaving them on the srrver (menaing you will still get them on other devices) or removing them from the server (you will ONLY get them on the devoce you first download them to). You might want to contct NetZero to see if there are any options. However, I strongly recommend finding an IMAP based mail provider for a multidevice scenario. Gmail, Apple's iCloud mail are two examples, but there are more. Not clear if NetZero offers IMAP or not.

Email account cannot delete

I was trying to remove my gmail account from my palm pre, so i went to the email account through the preferences and accounts tab. When I click on my gmail account and then select to remove the account my phone thinks for a few seconds and then brings me back to the preferences and accounts page, but my gmail account is not deleted. When i go look at my main email page its obvious that my gmail folders have all been deleted except for my outbox folder. I tried to readd my gmail account hoping it would basically reinstall all the folders i lost, however it says that i have a duplicate account...ie my previous gmail account did not fully delete, still will not delete no matter how many times i restart my phone and attempt to remove it, and there is no way to get my gmail folders, save my outbox back. help.

Update: I went back and checked about 30 min later and the Yahoo! account was fully gone... and I was able to add it back without a problem.

I try settings, accounts & sync, add an account and I only have 3 options; corporate/exchange, backup assistant and google. None of those are what I need. Help...

How can i remove the email account without deleting the email account?

I have an old email account which I want to remove from Mail, which I know how to do. However I don't want to delete these emails but rather park them off-site so that if I ever need them again I can easily re-import. By removing the email account in preferences it says it will delete all the emails etc. from my computer. Is my only solution to copy the emails to a different location, then delete the account and if needed re-import at a later date?

You can do a couple of things.
You can Export the emails to a .mbox file then Import them in which will create an Import folder in Mail; then delete your email account. Or you can just disable the email account leaving it in your list of accounts only disabled.

All my email accounts got deleted overnight and I had to reinput them, has that happened to anyone else?

Go to the Mail/Accounts preference pane and add the account back again if it's not there. Next check the System/iCloud preference pane to make sure you have Mail checked.

Can I delete an email account without deleting the previous emails from it

I have several emails from my own website ([email protected]) set to POP in Mail. Because of an overrun of spam, I disabled one of the accounts in Mail, and then deleted in at my website account. I have 2 others that I wasn't using, so I did the same. I didn't want to delete them in Mail, because I heard that would delete all the emails from it. So I just disabled them. But I see in Connection Doctor that they are still trying to connect to my website to retrieve email. Do I need to completely delete them from Mail? And if I do, if the emails are all moved out of the Inbox into folders I've created (mostly smart mailboxes) are they safe from being deleted? Will it only delete from Inbox, Send, and Trash?

Select the messages you want to keep, then select
Message > Archive
from the menu bar. A new mailbox will be created for each account from which you archive messages, and the messages will be kept when you delete the account and its mailboxes. Nevertheless, be sure to back up all data before making any changes.

I recently tried to change a sved password for my Exchange Server email account, by deleting the site from my "Saved Passwords" tab in the Tools-Options-Security page. Now this web page won't save any entered data.

I wanted to change my password for logging in to my work email address. The site was not prompting me to change it automatically, so I manually removed it from the list in the TOOLS-SECURITY-OPTIONS page. Now this site won't retain any kind of entered data, such as addresses that I compose emails to very regularly.
How can I get this site back on the list that will save passwords? I've tried re-starts, log-out and back in, etc, and it won't prompt me to save a password.

How do I delete an old email account from my system

I was asked to update a password to our company email account and I updated. Then I had to update the password on my iphone. Now my iphone won't send any emails out because it is asking for an update to an email account that was never associated with this iphone (the email account was from a former employer). It must have been restored or synced to my iphone or tied to iTunes through syncing. I deleted the old employer phone from itunes when I left the job and purchased a new iphone.
But now my new iphone is not sending emails because it says that the old email account does not recognize the new password. And there is no old email account to delete. I've looked in my itunes acccount to try to delete there as well and can find nothing to delete from the old account.

I would next reset the network settings on the phone, in case there is some info there that is stuck and causing the issue:
Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Note: This will reset all network settings including:

VPN and APN settings

If not I would as a last resort, backup your iPhone with this article:
