Hello,
I received this error when deploying JDeveloper 11g built PDK portlet:

There is no restriction on the number of portlets present in a war. What exceptions do you see? Which version of portal server are you using?

Portlet deploy error (javax.faces.webapp.FacesServlet)
Hi all,
I am trying to deploy a portlet created in Jdev 11.1.1.2 to WLS 10.3 .
I have included and checked all the necessary libraries in both the app and on the WLServer.
When I try to deploy I get the error of:
java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: javax.faces.webapp.FacesServlet
Even though I wasn't able to deploy to the remote WLServer, I was able to deploy the portlet to the IntegratedWebLogicServer without any problem.
The libraries I have on the WLS 10.3 are:
DMS Application (11.1.1.1.0)
adf.oracle.domain(1.0,11.1.2.0.0)
adf.oracle.domain.webapp(1.0,11.1.1.2.0)

Yet, it still complains about the javax.faces.webapp.FacesServlet when I tried to deploy.
Can someone give me some hints on what I am missing?
Btw, I deployed other ADF applications on the WLS10.3 successfully before.

Portlet unavailable error in Webcenter application
I have developed a portlet application by using wsrp standand-based java portlet in the windows environment. There is no problem when I deployed the application to the preconfigured webcenter oc4j in JDeveloper 10.1.3.3.0.
But when I deployed it to the webcenter suite which is also installed in the windows, I have got portlet unavailable error.
I have already used the predeployment tools to change the portlet url endpoint so that it points to the webcenter portlet producers.

Portlet gives ERROR: Content not available and log says FileNotFoundExcepti
I'm trying to deploy my 'works on JBoss' portlets onto portlet server 7.2
I uses psadmin register-portlets... to load my ear file with the portlets
I went into 'Add New Channel or Container' and picked the sandbox and 'channel'
Step 1.1 I picked JSR 168 or 268
Step 2 I could see my portlets in the drop down so I picked one
That seemed to work fine.
Then I went into 'design desktop layout' and I picked my portlet from the list there and put it onto the sandbox
Looking good. There were some odd warning errors in the log referring to JSF which don't look relevant so I ignored them (see below)
Next I logged into sanbox and all I see are two frames (I added two portlets) both saying ERROR: Content not available

Thanks for any helpAs you can see from docs - http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/820-2052/gdela register-portlet is supported for EAR files generated by JCAPS tools. In you case you need to manually add the portal required artifacts. In case of WAR this is handled by deploy-portlet command. I don't remember exact artifacts that were added in PS7.2 portlet deployment. You can deploy a WAR and see the artifacts that will be added and the entry in web.xml as well.

Portlet Consumer Error - automatically refreshing portlets
Hi,
I am developing ADF webcenter apllication (Jdev 11.1.1.7) and i am using portlets to display summary information. When i deploy my application in server, portlets are automatically refreshing for every 2,3 secs finally i got "Portlet Consumer Error" or some times "Because of inactivity, your session has timed out and is no longer active".
Anyone please help me on this.

Problem:programmatically portlet deployment
Hi ...
I want to programmatically deploy a portlet application in a portal's HOME page.
For this i have identified following four steps:
1. First step is to copy the J2EE resources of the portlet in a specific directory.
2. Change the portal configuration file named xyz.portal to add this new
portlet in the portal's HOME page.
3. Run the "SYNC" utility to refresh the portal server.
4. Now set the portlet properties "Visible" and "Available" to true.
I am able to do things till step 3.
Now i have two questions?
1. I am able to set the property "visible" to true (by modifying the portletname.portlet
file - mandatory element) but i could not find a way to directly
set the "available property" to true. How can i do this programmatically.
2. Is there a better way of doing the above four steps (for eg is there some utility
which does the portlet deployment)

This was the consequence of deploying portlets with invalid descriptor (not sure which one - web.xml or portal.xml - i will investigate later).
It seems that Portal Server tries to reload all these portlets during
"deploy redeploy" task.
I use my own classes on portal, so executing "deploy redeploy" task is crucial for me. CLI171 error blocks the execution of this task!
So, i deleted invalid wars and their descriptors from
/var/opt/SUNWps/tmp/portlet/ and restarted application server - this
solves the problem completely - and now i able to use "deploy redeploy".
This tip may be useful during active portlet deployment:) Beware of CLI171 error! :)

Hi,
I am new to this Studio Creator 2 so that I decided to follow "Sun Java Studio Creator 2 - Tutorials - Using the Debugger".
I followed the instructions word by word and have no problem running it.
But Whenever I run it under the 'debugging' mode, I got an error ( at step 2. Examining local variables in the tutorial) as follows.
It directs me to look at the server log file for more and I clicked on the link on the same pane (Output window in the bottom of IDE) but it doesn't mean much to me -- partly due to me being a newbie???
Here is a bunch of error messages being generated under the debug mode[F5]. Did anyone have a similar problem before?

Try starting the server without deploying. The server can be started from the server window. Also, check the server log file , will give more info on why it failed.
To view the Sun Java System Application Server log file:
In the Servers window, right-click the Deployment Server node and choose View Server Log.
In any text editor, open the log file in the following location: install-directory\SunAppServer8\domains\creator\logs\server.log

Also, the port used by default is localhost:24848 when I tried the tutorial .. -
Deployment error while deploying targeters in BCC
Hi,
I am trying to create a targeter with content groups and media internal texts. Whenever i deploy a project with these assets, i get deployment error.
It says "Deployment '169200010' to target 'production' encountered a system level deployment error during data transfer. An automatic rollback deployment has successfully occurred, preserving the state of target 'production'. Click 'Resume' to re-attempt the deployment."
I checked for the VFS set up for targeters and content groups and they are in place.
There are 3 assets in the project. It says the asset already exists

SOURCE EXCEPTION:yes i checked. To clear this out, i created a new project with new set of content groups and targeters.
It throws this error. I get this error at 30% of deployment

I have set the ORACLE_HOME that points to SOA install directory i.e.
C:\Documents and Settings>echo %ORACLE_HOME%
C:\Oracle_Software\1013\soa
One more thing is that if I install the Developer Version and even though the ORACLE_HOME is not set this works fine i.e. DocumentReview it's only that in the Midtier install version it doesn't work.
The BPELProcess gets deployed and even the task is assigned but when logging into worklist and selecting the task I see the following error:
Not Found
The requested URL /default/DocumentReview/1.0/DocumentReview/DocumentReview.jsp was not found on this server.

It's because at deployment time I get that security error and parent application not found and it never deploys the jsp's. Now in the logs I don't see anything. It's only in JDeveloper I see those errors at deployment time. Here is the domain.log:

Now even though the log says process deployed successfully it only deploys the BPEL Process but no jsp forms deployed. I hope there's nothing special we have to do. This issue can be recreated by installing the Midtier version of SOA and configure it with OID and then try deploying DocumentReview Process provided in the demos.
I hope I have provided all the information.

Deployment error while running the application
Hi Every body,
I am new to JEE though an old pro at JDK.I have also worked on tomcat.
I have got Sun Java System Application Server 9.1 installed with NetBeans 6.1 on winXP.
I am trying to create a EJB app-client module.I even tried to run the sample application AnnotationOverrideInterceptor given in NetBeans . Every thing goes fine.The Build is also Successful but when i run it, i recieve the error message Deployment error .The module has not been deployed.

I am able to over deployment problem. It was due to some error in code of view i created. because of that, it was giving deployment error.
Now, when i goto NWA->Configuration -> Process and Task -> Process Repository, I can see my deployed DC's. When i select my process and go to start process, Start Process button is blurred (means read only). Can you please help me on this?

Deployment error in JDeveloper 11.1.1.4 when deploying 11.1.1.3 application
We have built a bpm application using JDeveloper 11.1.1.3. Now we have upgraded the server to new version 11gR3 and have also upgraded our jdeveloper to 11.1.1.4.
We have opened in Jdeveloper(11.1.1.4) the exisitng bpm application developed in older version (11.1.1.3) and when trying to deploy the application to the 11gR3 server getting the following deployment error in jdeveloper:

This deployment error is happening only when the UI project is deployed along with the composite. When I open the Project Properties --> Library, I notice that a Library "ALE Component" is displayed in exclamation. Even after removing this library I am getting the same deployment error. Will be grateful if any help is suggested to this issue.Yes, you need to update the library reference apparently. (I just started again.)
Try adding the following library ref to your weblogic.xml of UI project

Please try printing the cause for the exception in your catch block using 'wdComponentAPI.getMessageManager().reportSuccess("ERROR::CAUSE ::"+e.getCause());'.
This might show you a message like 'jcoClientConnection couldn't be created' and 'Please assure that you have configured the RFC connections and/or logical System Name properly for this model'.
And from your previous post webdynpro application deploy error...', I understand that your jco has been created in the proper way. <b>If this is the case</b>, My Guess is :
Please check what kind of user authentication your jco for Application data (Model Data) uses. When you create a jco for Application Data, you can use the following methods for User Authentication :
- User/Password
- Ticket
- User Mapping
- Client Ticket (About which I'm clueless)
If you are using Ticket or User Mapping, the created jco won't have any userid attached to it. So, you need to authenticate yourself while running the application. For that you need to set the 'authentication' to true for your application and provide a valid user name & password at run time.
