  • Any user other than portal cannot see portlets on the page developed as por

    Hi,
    I have IAS10g running on linux Redhat 3.0. I have created a page/page group added some potlets( generated dynamically from PL/SQL procedures) to the page. I am able to see the page and portlets on this page when logged in a Portal but when I am logged in as any other user I cannot see any portlets.
    I am new to the Portal and I would appreciate any feedback on this subject.
    Thanks

    mallikarjun,
    make sure that the Access priviliges of other users are granted under the Access tabs of respective pages and each of their portlets.
    for this, go to the access tab in each portlet, page, lov and content folder and check the users listed with viewing/ editing/ managing priviliges.
    that is the first thing to check on the portal access problems.
    regards,

  • Updates to the Extensions Exchange and the new XSDs on the Oracle Wiki

    I have just posted the following SQL Developer Forum
    +<p>The Extensions Exchange has been updated with a number of new extensions including a few new extensions from teams at Oracle. You can download and install any of the extensions. Some of these are also available for download through the Check for Updates utility. Please note the disclaimer on that extensions page. None of these have been validated or tested by the SQL Developer team.+
    The <a href="http://wiki.oracle.com/page/SQL%2BDev%2BSDK%2BHow%2BTos">Oracle Wiki</a> has also been updated to help you write your own extensions. A set of the most commonly used XSDs have now been added.</p>
    Instead of singling out individual extensions, I'd encourage you to look at what is available on the exchange and remind you that you can create your own extensions, whether they are Java or pure XML. We have updated the Oracle WIKI with a few examples and finally have added a selection of XSDs. This has been long awaited so for those of you looking out for these, please visit the HOW TO on the Oracle Wiki.
    You'll also notice that some of these extensions are showing up under the third party section in Check For Updates.

  • How to preview a page in Oracle Portal?

    Hi gurus,
    I'd like to know if there is anyway to preview a page in Oracle Portal 10g 9.0.4.
    Customer needs to preview the page (how it will looks like) before inserting
    new contents (image, link, url, item, portlet etc.) in it, so just the page manager
    (user or group that has MANAGER access in that page) can see it that time and
    no other user can, until the page manager aprove the new format of the page and
    "deploy" the page to the user.
    Any suggestions on how to do this?

    Hi,
    I'm afraid there's not a preview option as you describe it. It is something our customers have asked for too, so I'll be happy if somebody knows a decent way to accomplish this. I hope this is included in a future release.
    Kind regards.

    I checked the portlet specification file (.pks) and body file (.pkb) for any mistakes but they seems fine.
    Does anyone know what can cause this error?
    Any pointers in this regards will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks!!!
    Rajesh

    Rajesh,
    Could you provide some more details about your code? I will try to look into possible causes of the error. One thing you may try is subscribing to the Knowledge Exchange on http://portalcenter.oracle.com. Then you could post your code in your community folder and everyone would be able to test it out.
    Of course, this means you must be willing to share your code with everyone.

    Hi everyone,
    I am installing the DBPersonalization Manager Provider. I followed directions and am able to successfully bring up the provider's test page. I added the provider to the repository and can preview them without problems. However, when I add the portlet to a page, I get the following error:

    I am not sure what this is from but assume that it is having problems communicating with my provider. Does anyone have any idea what this could be caused by?
    Thanks in advance...
    Esther Poulsen

    Hi Sue,
    Thanks for your response! I ran the XML file through a validator and examined it manually, and it is fine. Moreover, if I add additional portlets to the provider.xml file, they add themselves without any problems. I'd think the entire thing would break if the provider.xml file was not well formed for any reason. But if anyone has any futher suggestions about this it would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Esther

  • How to customize an existing OAF page from Oracle, change it and reload it

    Hello all Oracle Developers,
    I am having a question regarding to customization, basically I am going to follow a very simple example.
    We have form: APXVDMVD and OAF web Page AP_APXVDMVD.
    Applying all our custom code via forms personnalisation is piece of cake. However trying to apply the same code to OAF web Page AP_APXVDMVD
    is a total back box for us.
    The basic example seems like this: Suppose that in the Suppliers/Vendors Page we type the supplier name and then right after that we populate in consequence all the fields:
    Taxpayer ID, Tax Registration Number, DUNS Number
    We want to grab the OAF Web page from oracle apply the custom code in java code or whatever necessary to make it work and deploy it onto the server.
    Is this achievable, if so how we can do it??? Can we grab the web page extend the classes that are necessary and deploy the solution. The demo provided from Oracle
    is showing how to create pages from zero, however Oracle have not provided how to grab an existing applications page, put the code and the deploy it
    Let me know any inputs, whatever you did and surely we will be sharing the same stuff all migration R12 long :-)

    Hi,
    You can extend OA framework pages and customize them. There is also a section for customizations in the OA Framework Developer's guide. IF this requires extensive customizations, Iwould advice to be very careful as any extensions should not interfere with the base logic of the pages. Please post here if you need more details.
    The following blog is a good one for some examples.
    http://oracle.anilpassi.com/oa-framework-extending-controller-steps-2.html
    There is also a course for the same if you are interested.

    Hope this helps..

  • Passing Parameters between 2 Portlets on 1 Page

    Hi,
    I'm new to this portlet stuff and I might miss something important, but:
    I "just" want to send parameters from one form on one Page to a portlet on the same page...
    PassAllParameters is already set to true...
    I also have read the "Primer" and the "Adding Parameters and Events to Portlets", after giving up to do this my own, I just copied and pasted the Name/Age Form JSP (nearly... I've made Java out of it...) as my DataProvider Portlet and copied and pasted the "Generic Public Parameter Receiving Portlet" as my DataReceiver Portlet... the Event and Parameter Tags are NOT missing in the provider.xml... but even after pressing submit there are no parameters at all avaible for the "receiving Portlet"!!!
    PLEASE can someone tell me what I am doing wrong?!?!?!?

    Hi friends,
    I worked with the application which is in
    http://server:port/jpdk/providers/event. is working fine with passing parameters to another page.
    Also I create my own application which is working fine if i have the 2 portlets in the same page.
    But it is not working with portlets in different page. On clicking the link it is not going to the another page. Hereby i give the required codes.
    portletpass.jsp:
    PortletRenderRequest prr = (PortletRenderRequest) request.getAttribute(HttpCommonConstants.PORTLET_RENDER_REQUEST);
    String eventSubmit = EventUtils.eventName("submit");
    String eventParamsno = EventUtils.eventParameter("sno");
    String strsno="50" ;
    NameValuePair[] linkParams = new NameValuePair[2];
    linkParams[0] = new NameValuePair(HttpPortletRendererUtil.portletParameter(request, eventSubmit), "");
    linkParams[1] = new NameValuePair(HttpPortletRendererUtil.portletParameter(request, eventParamsno),strsno);
    <a href="<%=PortletRendererUtil.constructLink(prr,
      prr.getRenderContext().getEventURL(), linkParams, true, true)%>"><%= strtitle %>
    </a>
    provider.xml of portletpass.jsp:
    <event class="oracle.portal.provider.v2.DefaultEventDefinition">
    <name>submit</name>
    <parameter class="oracle.portal.provider.v2.DefaultParameterDefinition">
    <name>sno</name>
    <displayName>sno</displayName>
    </parameter>
    </event>
    portletreceive.jsp:
    PortletRenderRequest prr = (PortletRenderRequest) request.getAttribute(HttpCommonConstants.PORTLET_RENDER_REQUEST);
    //      String snosp = "sno", snorec="" ;
    //     String values = prr.getParameter("sno") -------returns null
         String values = prr.getParameter("_page_url");
         String snorec = values.substring(values.lastIndexOf("sno=")+4) ;
         out.println(snorec); // here i get the required value
    provider.xml of portletreceive.jsp:
    <inputParameter class="oracle.portal.provider.v2.DefaultParameterDefinition">
    <name>sno</name>
    <displayName>Input Parameter #1</displayName>
    </inputParameter>
    Also i did the necessary changes in parameters and events tab as well.
    I cant sorted out what is the mistake i did.
    The scenario i need is on clicking the link it should display the details in a new page.
    Can anybody please help me.
    Thanks in advance
    Durai

  • Unable to open page in oracle app server but able in tomcat

    Hi,
    I am able to run my webapplication (survey) using tomcat and MySQL to do my web application (Work at home). However, when I copy my source files(.java and .jsp) to my existing program at my workplace, (I uses "window .open" to open my survey in another window) I encountered a blank page. I have added a controller(servlet) and have amended the web.xml file to include the controller. Would really appreciate is someone can help. Do i need to restart my application server if there are additional controller and amendments to the web.xml files? I am using Jdeveloper, oracle application server and oracle DB. Thanx!

    Hello,
    It is not clear how the application is packages, but to deploy a Web Application on OracleAS, you should package it in a WAR (Web Archive) Have you done that?
    You should not deploy by simply "copy file", but packaging the WAR, and use Enterprise manager (or command line), take a look to your server http://server:port/em
    Note:
    You have posted this question in the Web Services forum, this forum in mainly focus on SOAP Web Services (XML, SOAP, WSDL, ...), if youh ave generic question on Java EE development and deployment using Oracle stack I will invite you to post question on the [urlhttp://forums.oracle.com/forums/forum.jspa?forumID=46]OC4J/J2EE Forum
