Portlet Entitlement Problem with Quote in Portlet Title

I have a portlet originally called "Manager's Toolbox". When I
try to set an entitlement for this portlet to be for the manager
role only, the entitlement is ignored. The portlet shows up
for all users.
I renamed it to "Managers Toolbox" (without the quote), recreated
the portal and added the entitlement, and now it works correctly.

David,
Sounds like a bug, we'll fix it.
Thanks,
Phil

  • Problem with Lotus Notes portlet

    Hi all, i have another problem with the latest Lotus Notes portlet (version 9.0.4.0.0_05062003). I have installed and configured the portlet and the domino server to be used with the Basic Authentication. I followed all the steps in the installation document and everything seems OK. However when i include these portlets in a page, some links (not all) doesn't work, in example: the new contact link. Any of these links opens a new browser window. This window displays that i have successfully configured Lotus Notes External Application, but i can't do anything to perform the action, as to add the new contact. Does anybody have the same problem?, it's a bug? or i have committed an error?
    Finally, if i configure the portlet and the domino server to be used with session based Authentication i have the same problem that Remy Vanderplaetsen has posted.
    Any help will be very appreciated.
    Thanks a lot!

    I guess this problem is again with the same portal issue. You need to apply the patch as mentioned in the FAQ.html document for LotusNotes. Please refer this document on how to get and apply the portal patches so that it could work.

  • Problems with Autonomy Lite Portlets for WLP 4.0

    Hello,
    Ive recenlty installed the autonomy lite portlets, but am getting no functionality.
    i followed the install docs exactly, but get a "cant communicate with DRE" error
    in my portlet. Also, when i run a search, I always get no results even though the
    logs would suggests that all my dir material has been imported. Any ideas? does the
    DRE have to reside on a separate port/machine? I am also getting an error in the
    logs saying "cant bind to index port." Any ideas there?

    Hi,
    I not sure if this help you, but I've noticed the same problem with downloading contacts on my E65 after upgrade HF from v2.1 to 3.0. Both automatic and manual download of contacts from phone didn't work anymore. But I've found very simple "workaround"on forums - to send all contacts as a card via bluetooth to HF - and ... I works. The only limitation is that you must send updated or new contacts manually from phone to HF. Maybe it will be useful...

  • Problems with JSR 168 Portlets

    Hi!, Im working with JSR 168 Portlets and after successfully deploying it into the portal (6.2) Im not able to get any content. Ive already made a war (I couldnt make the studio 5u1, (PB 2) simulate it :( ), and it seems to be correctly deployed inside appsrv (7). I placed some JSPs and HTMLs and they are available from a browser but not from the portal. The first error I got was Channel time out but then I managed to get Content not Available. It seems that the portal is not able to reach the JSPs but Im not sure. Is there any restriction about folders with this or just by deploying the war makes everything? Is it necessary to set the files inside the portal folder? Ive read the manuals many times and I cant find a suitable tutorial (the only I got is one to make a provider or a channel :( ), nor a detaliled how to. Ill thank any advice.
    Cheers , Pablo.

  • Problem with JSF AJAX portlets

    I am seeing the following issues with JSF portlets
    1) When you AJAX enable the portlet, they will not work. There are some javascript errors on the component we are using. They work fine if we don't AJAX enable them
    2) I had 2 portlets. 1 JSF and 1 pageflow portlet. If I click on a link in pageflow portlet and after the page gets refreshed, nothing will work in JSF potlet. Again javacript errors
    If we had only 1 portlet on the page, JSF portlet works fine
    Do you think the prototype javacript library used in the portal causing any issues?

    I tried with <naming:namingContainer> immediatly after the f:view tag , but still getting same errors
    I am psoting the generated html and javascript error

  • Problem with Custom Search Portlet

    Sorry that I mistakenly posted this in the UI forum.
    We created a portlet that is to return its search results on the portals search results page using the steps in the following url [url http://portal.plumtree.com/portal/server.pt/gateway/PTARGS_0_14122_717084_0_0_18/5_0_search_results_page_url_format.htm]
    Our current portal version is 6.1. The actual search part works and returns documents but does something special have to be done to get search terms from our portlet into the analytics search terms table? It had worked in our earlier version of the portal 5.x. but no longer does after the upgrade. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    I have the same problem.
    Any ideas?

  • Problems with Quote Printing template

    Hi,
    I have been trying to assign a custom PDF template to the Print Quote functionality within sales. However, when I try to create a template using Code: ASOPRINT, Application: Order capture, and Data Definition: Quote Printing I get the following message:
    "You entered a duplicate template entry. Please change the Name, Code and/or Application and reapply."
    I therefore tried to remove the original seeded xsl template by entering an 'end date' of yesterday, however this message still appeared but now no template is assigned to the print quote function within HTML quoting. Is there a way to get this back again or preferably add a new one - It appears the system is still recognising the ASOPRINT code from the seeded template despite its removal.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated
    Anjohn

    Hi,
    I could create another template to solve my problem. But according to the XMLP documentation, I studied that both the application code of Data definition and template should match. In my case my data definition and template has the same code ASOPRT. And I created another template with the code ASOPRINT. Both my templates work. Now, I am kind of confused. Can anyone help me in undersatnding this.
    Thank you,

  • Xml/html to jsp - problem with quotes in attribute values

    I am trying to convert a static html document into a jsp using an xsl stylesheet, but run into problems trying to use the jsp expression syntax inside of attribute values.

    The problem i have is with the <%= customer.getField("firstName") %>. I have tried several different ways of inserting the double quotes around firstName, but no matter what I try, it always uses the entity reference instead of actually putting the " character. The jsp container will not accept the entity.
    I am assuming that the problem is with trying to place double quotes inside of an attribute value. Any ideas how to get around this?
    Thanks
    David

    Which App Server are you using?
    You should just be able to escape the double quotes.
    If that doesn't work, it's a bug in the app-server.
    Alternatively, you can use single quotes around the
    attribute value.
    Hope that helps,
    AlexSorry, I'm an idiot. By escaping you meant the unicode character escape "\u0022". I had not tried that. However, once i realized what you meant, I tried it, and it worked. Thanks for your help.

  • Again same problem with quotes, but cant find a proper sol

    I've gone thru so many posts, but cud'nt really find a solution. someone please help me here. I have a single insert function, which does all inserts for many tables, so cant use ppdstmt.setString(1, "value").
    I am trying to insert some data into SQL server database(thru jdbc). The normal data works just fine, but if the user inserts some data which have quotation marks, then its throwing an error that is invalid character.
    ex: received ->enters correctly into db
    but
    rec'd -> unable to
    Insert into table(name) values('Oreilly'); //works fine
    Insert into table(name) values('O'reilly'); //throws an error, sql exception
    because the sql server is unable to find the matching quote. I would like to replace it with a ` or double quotes, but I am unable to replace it. I am not using a string to insert a value, I am using an Object. so I am unable to use any preparedStatement also(like ppdstmt.setString(1,"value"). Also I cant use replaceAll function, because, I am using jdk1.3. Is there any other way, I can replace ' with '' or `. The following is my code for inserting data.
    private void insert(String pQualifierName, String pTableName, Map pValueMap)
    m1Buffer.append("INSERT INTO ").append(QualifyTableName(pQualifierName, pTableName)).append(" (");
    m2Buffer.append(" VALUES (");
    // go over all values
    boolean isNotFirst = false;
    for (Iterator i = pValueMap.keySet().iterator(); i.hasNext();)
    if (isNotFirst)
    m1Buffer.append(", ");
    m2Buffer.append(", ");
    isNotFirst = true;
    String aColumnName = (String) i.next();
    // add the column name to the first part
    m1Buffer.append(aColumnName);
    // add a "?" to the second part, as well as adding the value to the parameter list
    if(pValueMap.get(aColumnName)!= null) {
    //aColumnName=aColumnName.replace( '\'', '`');
    m2Buffer.append("'");
    m2Buffer.append(pValueMap.get(aColumnName));
    m2Buffer.append("'");
    } else {
    m2Buffer.append(pValueMap.get(aColumnName)); //appends the value we entered
    m1Buffer.append(")");
    m2Buffer.append(")");
    protected void insert()
    verifyUnbacked();
    try
    StatementBuilder aBuilder = StatementBuilder.insertStatement(accessQualifierName(), accessTableName(), mUnbackedMap);
    Connection aConnection = ConnectionPool.getConnection();
    try
    PreparedStatement aPreparedStatement = aBuilder.generatePreparedStatement(aConnection);
    try
    aPreparedStatement.executeUpdate();
    Thanks

    Barun_guha,
    Thanks for your code, but the problem is pValueMap.get(aColumnName) is an Object and it cannot be initialized as a String .
    scsi-boy,
    I am attaching the 2 files related, StatementBuilder.java and AbstractEntity.java.
    Basically, the statementBuilder.java builds the SQL stmt and AbstractEntity.java does the update, delete and inserts(it has the PreparedStament). So could someone suggest me a solution based on this code.
    Thanks

  • NSM 3 Problem with Quotas in Microsoft environment

    I have assigned quotas of 2GB for all my teachers. I am moving home folders from a Novell environment to a Microsoft environment. Files move, but somehow, the move process does not complete on some users. Although the home directory in AD only has about 1 GB in documents, the engine reports that the directory is full. When I look at the path analysis report for that user, it shows no available space. Even if I increase the quota with NSM quota manager, it still reports no available space.

    Hi, can you send an email to storagemanager"@"novell.com and we can get
    a remote session open to see if we can resolve this for you. Please
    send a Runtime Config report with the email. The Runtime config report
    is generated through the reports tab of the UI.
    Thank you,
    NSM TEAM

  • Problem with quotes

    Hie,
    I want to use the quotes characters &laquo and &raquo
    (for example : &laquo test &raquo) in my HTML page built
    with DW8. When I display the page using FIREFOX, the result is OK.
    But when I use INTERNET EXPLORER6 then the quotes appear the wrong
    way (their position is too high).
    Can you give me a solution ?
    Thanks,

    Show us your page, please.
    This post would be better on the DW general forum, for what
    that's worth....

  • Problems with "crawl" option in titles

    I'm doing some editing on a video that requires I have large amounts of text crawl across the bottom of the screen. I have selected "crawl" under "type" and selected "Start off screen" and "End off screen". Unfortunately, when I go to write more than a few words the curser does not follow the text past the text box I've created on screen. Any text written past this amount does not scroll after I've rendered the file. Has anyone else had this problem and know a fix?

    NM guys, I figured out a fix. I changed my "X position" to something obscenely large and that seems to have fixed things. Hope this helps someone else out with the same issue.

  • Problem with speed of long title

    I am helping a friend with a project. At the end of the movie he wants to add around 70 lines of text to present a summary of the project. I cannot figure out how to get the scrolling to slow down enough so that it would be readable. Any suggestions? Is there a way to present the text in a slide format similar to powerpoint? Are there any good title plugins that would help with this? Thanks. [email protected]

    Hi Larry,
    I have to comment your very first posting here, sorry, don't misunderstand as a offence, but… :
    you're form the Microsoft/Windows world, aren't you, a socalled switcher?
    On PCs in many cases , a MS Office package is preinstalled. not so in the world of Apple; plus, we Mac-user prefer to use apps, what they were meant for. PP is a presentation tool, a slideshow maker so to say… NOT a layout app. many PC user do so. I've seen people (mis)using Excel (=spreadsheet calculator) as a "drawing colorful boxes" layout app…
    So, on a Mac, to produce a picture, a jpeg, I would recommend to use a drawing tool… as in Appleworks, or a designated layout app as Pages/iWork, both pre-installed (…as a demo) on many Macs. or, GraphicConverter… or, for the richer ones (cheaper as MS Office) Photoshop Elements, a very powerful drawing tool… a very good combo with editing tools as iM or FCE…
    sure, for doing some text charts, you can use ANY app, even textedit, and with some clicks you produce an jpg or pict out of it - Quciktime is a very powerful system compound, doing marvelous convertings…
    for long rolling credits, use the mentioned "long credits app"
    besides: to do frame-by-frame titles, you can do use the iM internal titles, no need to import single jpegs… from a slideshow maker…
