Portlet Title to be set at run time.

Hi,
I have a portal page that contains some portlet reports. I am displaying portlet title and default Customize link on thie report. My requirement is to set this Title at run time based on the parameters provided by user in Customize form for this report. If any one have some idea how to achieve this functionality or some workaround for this, please help me to obercome the problem. Lots of thanks in advance.

Arun,
all parameter values that the user can modify in the Customization form are stored in the Portal preference store. You can access them using the Portal PLSQL public APIs available in the PDK. Portal Reports allow you to add PL/SQL code when the reports is being displayed. Hence, you can read the parameter values and set the title to your liking.
For example, the following PL/SQL code reads the department_id custom parameter value and sets the portlet title to the current date plus the department ID.
declare
l_preference_path varchar2(300);
l_dept_id number;
begin
l_preference_path := 'oracle.webview.parameters.'||lower(p_reference_path);
l_dept_id :=
wwpre_api_value.get_value_as_varchar2
(p_path => 'oracle.webview.parameters.'||lower(p_reference_path),
p_name => 'employees.department_id'
wwpre_api_value.set_value_as_varchar2(
p_path => l_preference_path,
p_name => '_title',
p_level_type => wwpre_api_value.USER_LEVEL_TYPE,
p_level_name => wwctx_api.get_user,
p_value => to_char(sysdate, 'mm/dd/yy hh24:mi:ss')||' dept_id='||l_dept_id
exception
when wwpre_api_name.path_not_found_exception then
null;
end;
I added this code to the "... before displaying the page." field for the Reports column on the Additional PL/SQL tab of the reports definition. The report was based on the employees table that had the department_id column.
Hope this helps.

    hi,
    how to change html style titles of a JTabbedPne at run time??

    You can't change the canvas at runtime. But you can put the scrollbar on a stacked canvas and then show or hide that stacked canvas on different canvases.

  • How to set the running time of Thread??

    Hello all
    i am new and fresh student to learn Java.
    i want to set a limit time to run a thread.

    public void interrupt()
    Interrupts this thread.
    First the checkAccess method of this thread is invoked, which may cause a SecurityException to be thrown.
    If this thread is blocked in an invocation of the wait(), wait(long), or wait(long, int) methods of the Object class, or of the join(), join(long), join(long, int), sleep(long), or sleep(long, int), methods of this class, then its interrupt status will be cleared and it will receive an InterruptedException.
    If this thread is blocked in an I/O operation upon an interruptible channel then the channel will be closed, the thread's interrupt status will be set, and the thread will receive a ClosedByInterruptException.
    If this thread is blocked in a Selector then the thread's interrupt status will be set and it will return immediately from the selection operation, possibly with a non-zero value, just as if the selector's wakeup method were invoked.
    If none of the previous conditions hold then this thread's interrupt status will be set.
    Throws:
    SecurityException - if the current thread cannot modify this thread
    to quote the api
    but in your case Aldaris it would have no effect
    but if you wrote the code as..public void run(){
    while(!interrupted()){
      System.out.println("Pete_The_Hat");
    }then it would break the loop :-)

  • Notification messages set at run time

    I would like to be able to send different message body content at the same place in my workflow determined by settings of a couple of attributes at run time.
    Is the correct approach to create a function call which has the PLSQL to determine the attribute settings and then calls wf_notification.send with the appropriate message name? If so, how do I then handle the response to this notification (Y or N)?
    I am using 2.6 standalone.
    Cheers

    Hi.. I have to use the Notification API (Send) because I dont want to use item attributes (all the notification info like performer and message body is generated in runtime)
    But, just as stated here, the Workflow callback function was giving problems. How can I implement my own callback function? the examples in WF guide aren't enough clear for me! Can abyone help me with this?

  • How to set the XML tree to be collapsed by default at run time?

    I am developing a simple software in Java, to improve my programming skills, the output of this program is an XML file. I am very new to XML. My question is that, every time the XML file is opened the tree is in expanded form, which appears to be the default setting at run time. I want it to be fully collapsed when the XML file is opened. I have read about certain solutions to this problem by using XSL or CSS. I am not familiar with XSL at the moment so I have not explored it yet. Is there any other way around this problem.
    I would like someone to just point me in the right direction so that I can eventually get to the answer.
    Any help will be highly appreciated.
    Thankyou

How the individual editor shows the XML is their property. For example, if you open the file in notepad, you may not get the pretty XML however if you open if the file in XML editor like XMLSpy, you may get its hierarchical representation.

  • JSP, Data Web Bean, BC4J: Setting the where clause of a View Object at run time

    Hi,
    I am trying to develop a data web bean in which the where clause of a View Object will be set at run time and the results of the query then displayed.
    My BC4J components are located in one project while the coding for the data web bean is in another project. I used the following code bu t it does not work. Could you please let me know what I am doing wrong?
    public void populateOSTable(int P_EmpId)
    String m_whereString = "EmpView.EMP_ID = " + P_EmpId;
    String m_OrderBy = "EmpView.EMP_NAME";
    oracle.jbo.ApplicationModule appModule = null;
    ViewObject vo = appModule.findApplicationModule("EMPBC.EMPAppModule").findViewObject("EMPBC.EMPView");
    vo.setWhereClause(m_whereString);
    vo.setOrderByClause(m_OrderBy);
    vo.executeQuery();
    vo.next();
    String empName numAttrs = vo.getAttribute(EmpName);
    System.out.println(empName);
    Thanks.

    1. In the JSP, use a RowsetNavigator bean to set the where clause and execute the query.
    2. Use a custom web bean to process the results of the query (print to HTML).
    for example:
    <jsp:useBean class="oracle.jbo.html.databeans.RowsetNavigator" id="rsn" scope="request" >
    <%
    // get the parameter from the find form
    String p = request.getParameter("p");
    String s = request.getParameter("s");

    session.putValue("p", p);
    session.putValue("s", s);
    // initialize the app module and view object
    rsn.initialize(application,session, request,response,out,"wt_bc_WT_bcModule.wtjoinView");
    // set the where clause string
    String theclause = "presname = '" + p + "' AND slideno=" + s;
    // set the where clause for the VO
    rsn.getRowSet().getViewObject().setWhereClause(theclause);
    rsn.getRowSet().getViewObject().executeQuery();
    rsn.getRowSet().first();
    %>
    </jsp:useBean>
    <jsp:useBean class="wt_bc.walkthruBean" id="wtb" scope="request" >
    <%
    // initialize the app module and VO
    wtb.initialize(application,session, request,response,out,"wt_bc_WT_bcModule.wtjoinView");
    wtb.render();

    In this case, the render method of my custom web bean mostly gets some session variables, and prints various content depending on the session variable values.
    Hope this helps.

  • Can you set an image at run time?  Does it really work?

    I have read that others have been able to set an image at run time, but I cannot seem to get it to work (the image I set does not load).
    What I do is have a page, call it page2, that has two image components on it. In the constructor for page2 I do this:
    // Additional user provided initialization code
    image1.setValue("bike1.JPG");
    image2.setValue("bike2.JPG");
    The jpg files are in the build directory:
    C:\Documents and Settings\Darrin\My Documents\Creator\Projects\ImageTest\build\images
    The odd thing is that for the first image component(image1), I set a default jpg file (nogo.JPG that is in the same directory as the other two), and that does load.
    In fact, when I I check the value of image1 in afterRenderResponse by calling image1.getValue() it still has the default image (nogo.JPG) instead of the one I set it to (bike1.JPG) in the constructor by calling image1.setValue("bike1.JPG");
    So, either the image1.setValue() has no effect, or something is overwriting it.
    What is the trick to getting an image to load at run time like this?
    THANKS!

    Well after several more hours of banging myh ead against the wall, I still cannot get this to work.<br><br>
    I read in the constructor comments that whatever is in the jsp file will override the backing bean's constructor, so that might be part of the problem, but others I thought got this to work using a similar method.<br><br>
    Here is what I tried last which still does not work, but mimics what others have said did work for them:<br><br>
    //See if the default jpg file can even be copied over
    <br> image3.setHeight(image1.getHeight());
    <br> image3.setUrl(image1.getUrl());
    <br> image3.setValue(image1.getValue());
    <br>
    <br> Integer aiw = new Integer("1");
    <br> float aar = 0;
    <br> float ar = 0;
    <br>
    <br> ImageIcon ii = new ImageIcon("C:/Documents and Settings/Darrin/My Documents/Creator/Projects/ImageTest/build/images/bike1.JPG");
    <br> ar = (float)ii.getIconHeight()/(float)ii.getIconWidth();
    <br> aiw = new Integer(ii.getIconHeight());
    <br> aar = ar*aiw.intValue();
    <br> image1.setHeight(""+(int)aar);
    <br> image1.setUrl("images/bike1.JPG");
    <br> image2.setValue("C:/Documents and Settings/Darrin/My Documents/Creator/Projects/ImageTest/build/images\\bike2.JPG");
    <br> image2.setUrl("C:/Documents and Settings/Darrin/My Documents/Creator/Projects/ImageTest/build/images\\bike2.JPG");
    <br><br>Note that when I run this and look at the log that I write out to in afterRenderRepsponse, it shows that image1 (which shows up as the default image I set at design time) and image3 (which does not show up which I set at run time using image1's value) both show the nogo.JPG image from the <b>resource</b> directory while image2 (that I set at run time to be bike2.JPG) is showing up as <b>empty</b>
    <br><br>
    This is really getting frustrating, and I would greatly appreciate a small tutorial from the JSC staff on just how you need to go about doing this. given that this is so common a need, a tutorial is warranted. Heck, just clue me in on how it is done and I will write one!

  • Setting Run-time parameters for EJB objects

    Hello,
    I need to set a run-time paramater that will be used by the session beans in my
    application. I looked thru the documentation, but I'm not finding an obvious
    way to do this.
    In weblogic-application.xml, there is an <application-parameter> element that
    seems promising, but I can't find a weblogic method for getting the value of this
    element from within an EJB.
    Any ideas on the best way to do this?
    Thank you

    Ellen,
    There is no global <env-entry> that you can use currently, but you can make
    an
    <env-entry> in the EJB module's descriptors for each session bean that needs
    the run-time parameter.
    the <application-parameter> element you speak of is not a place that
    arbitrary
    values can be placed and obtained. That element is used to by the server
    and there are a specific set of values that are recognized
    as override options for the server to use for the application.

  • How can I change Portlet Title

    Hi,
    I need to dynamically change the portlet title.
    The portlet is a JSP and at run time determines what to show in the title bar.
    Thanks for help.
    Aamer.

    hi
    Here is what you need to do -
    1) In your provider.xml file set the "renderContainer" tag for the specified portlet to false
    2) Make sure in the "edit" page region section for the region containing your portlet, the two
    checkboxes for "render header" and "render borders" is CHECKED. Becuase, this overrides what you
    do at the provider.xml level
    3) Now you have control on rendering the borders and headers
    4) In your JSP portlet - have this code -
    xxxContainerRenderer cntr = new xxxContainerRenderer();
    PrintWriter pout = new PrintWriter(out);
    SimpleParameterMap pm = new SimpleParameterMap();
    pm.putParameterValue(PortletContainerRenderer.PORTLET_TITLE,"YOUR RUNTIME DEFINED TITLE"));
    cntr.renderShowHeader(pr,pout,pm);
    --- your content ---
    cntr.renderShowFooter(pr,pout,pm);

  • Calling a VI which uses "system exec.vi" with LabVIEW run-time engine as adapter

  • How to change the view criteria at run time for af:query

    Hi,
    I've a usecase where I need to change the view criteria of the af:query at run time.
    Use case:
    =======
    1) Consider a check box (Show Emps Under Dept 10) in the query panel when user selects and clicks 'Search' button should show the employees under dept 10. If user searches without selecting the check box, the results should show all the employees in all the departments.
    2) I need to have a check box always in the query panel. Its mandatory.
    The way I implemented:
    ==============
    1) Created a transient variable 'Show Emps Under Dept 10' in the EmployeeVO and also created a bind variable bind_DeptNo.
    2) Create a view criteria 'AllEmployees' which has only the transient attribute as the view criteria item and whose value set to 'false' by default.
    3) Created another view criteria 'EmpUnderDept' which has 'DepartmentId' as the view criteria item and whose value set to the bind variable 'bind_DeptNo'.
    4) Dropped the view criteria 'EmpUnderDept' as the 'af:query' panel in the jspx page.
    5) Overridden the queryListener as '#{EmpBean.empSearch}'
    6) Has the below code in the empSearch method as below. When user selects the check box, applying the other criteria 'EmpUnderDept' and setting the bind variable to '10'.
    public void empSearch(QueryEvent queryEvent) {
    // Add event code here...
    QueryDescriptor queryDesc = (QueryDescriptor) queryEvent.getDescriptor();
    ConjunctionCriterion conCrit = queryDesc.getConjunctionCriterion();
    List<Criterion> criterionList = conCrit.getCriterionList();
    List criterionValues = new ArrayList();
    Object criteriaValue = null;
    int criteriaNo = 0;
    DCBindingContainer bc = (DCBindingContainer)BindingContext.getCurrent().getCurrentBindingsEntry();
    FacesContext facesContext = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    for (Criterion criterion : criterionList) {
    AttributeDescriptor attrDescriptor = ((AttributeCriterion)criterion).getAttribute();
    System.out.println("============== attrDescriptor.getName() =================== " + attrDescriptor.getName());
    criteriaValue = ((AttributeCriterion)criterion).getValues().get(0);
    if(criteriaNo==0) {
    Boolean val = (Boolean) ((AttributeCriterion)criterion).getValues().get(0);
    if (val.equals(true)) {
    OperationBinding method = (OperationBinding) ADFUtil.findOperation("ExecuteWithParams");
    if(method!=null) {
    Map params = method.getParamsMap();
    //params.put(key, value)
    method.getParamsMap().put("bind_DeptId", 10L);
    method.execute();
    ADFUtil.invokeMethodExpression( "#{bindings.EmpUnderDeptCriteiaQuery.processQuery}", queryEvent);
    } else {
    //ADFUtil.invokeEL("#{bindings.ExecuteWithParams.execute}");
    ADFUtil.invokeMethodExpression( "#{bindings.AllEmployeesCriteriaQuery.processQuery}", queryEvent);
    But this approach is not working and its always showing all the employees in all the departments.
    Please let me know if there is a way to change the view criteria at run time depending on the values set at run time for one of the view criteria items.
    JDev version am using is '11.1.1.5'
    Thanks,
    Lakshman

    Hi Shay,
    It worked for me without overriding the executeQuery() method in the ViewImpl.java.
    Instead of creating 2 view criteria, I created only one which has both transient variable and the DepartmentId = <bind_DeptId>. With the above code, it worked properly. Now I am using only one view criteria.
    Thank you.

  • Combining package configuration and Execute SQL task at run time

    Hi everyone,
    I have an issue regarding setting values at run time
    I use package configuration to manage different enviroments scenarios (DEV, PROD):
    XML file to store the connections string of SSISConfigDB
    and the actual values of parameters in that SSISConfig DB tables Filtered by ConfigurationFilter column
    Now, one of my packages needs in addition setting at run time value of a flat file name
    i used an Execute SQL task - within the task i read into a variable the file name using command line
    then, the full path of Flat File Connection is set by expression concatenating the root folder and the variable
    the problem is that the variable stays empy! as if the Execute SQL task was never executed!
     Am i doing something incorrect? in the package configuration wizard the configured value are only XML file and the connection string of the DB.
    to summerize - how can i combine package configuration, default value, Execute SQL task and expression at runtime?

    1.EvaluateasExpression=TRUE (Full Path variable)
    2. Do you mean to invlole a ISNULL() function in the expression? if so, no
    3. Of course i recieve a valid value
    4. The Full path expression is evaluated to the root folder - without the portion of the file name
    here is the syntax in Execute SQL Task:
      truncate table OnErrorFlagTable
      Declare @Path varchar(128)
      Declare @FileName varchar(128)
      Declare @SenderID varchar(5)
      Declare @INST_COD varchar(5)
      Declare @Flag int = 0
     Declare @FileType varchar(2)='01'
      Truncate table TraumaRecords
    Select @Path = 'C:\RootFolder\'
     --***Insert into Temp table the file so we can take his name***--
    Create Table #Tmp(Txt Varchar(Max))
    Insert Into #Tmp(Txt)
    Exec master..xp_cmdshell 'Dir *.txt C:\RootFolder\/b'
    select top 1 @Filename = Txt From #Tmp
    Where ISNUMERIC(substring(Txt,1,1))=1
    order by Txt desc
    Insert into OnErrorFlagTable
    Select 2,@FileName
    Select @FileName as TraumaFileName,@FileType as FileType
    Then, in ResultSet TraumaFileName and FileType are mapped
    Expression of @TraumaFlatfileFullPath is
    @[User::TraumaFlatfilePath]+ @[User::TraumaFlatFileName]
    where the variable @[User::TraumaFlatfilePath] is evaluated in variable window (default value)
    and it's value is C:\RootFolder\
    and @[User::TraumaFlatFileName] is the ResultSet of the ExecuteSQLTask
    and for some reason when executed in SSIS return null while in SSMS return the expected value
    Can you try making this into a procedure with required parameters and call it from SQL task to see if you get return value correctly? Use OUTPUT parameters for getting back required values

  • JRE run-time arguments in deployment.properties file all versions of PlugIn

    G'day,
    A user can specify the run-time arguments for the JRE via the Java Plug-In's control panel. This results in a (property, value) pair being written to the user's deployment.properties file. I'm trying to compile a list of the property names used by various versions of the Plug-In. Here's what I have so far:
    1.4.2_*
    javaplugin.jre.params
    i.e. one set of run-time arguments for all JREs known to the plug-in.
    1.5.0_*
    deployment.javapi.jre.V.args
    where V is a JRE version number, e.g. 1.5.0_16, i.e. custom run-time arguments for all JREs known to the plug-in.
    1.6.0_00 .. _07 ("classic")
    deployment.javapi.jre.V.args
    where V is a JRE version number, e.g. 1.6.0_07, i.e. custom run-time arguments for all JREs known to the plug-in.
    1.6.0_10 .. ("next generation")
    deployment.javaws.jre.N.args
    where N is an index into the list of JREs known to the plug-in, i.e. custom run-time arguments for all JREs known to the plug-in.
    These have been determined by sampling a couple of updates for each of the X.Y.Z versions listed above, i.e. not an exhaustive test by any means. Therefore, if you could expand on this, esp. pre-1.4.2, post 1.6.0, assuming they use the same deployment.properties mechanism, it'd be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Chris.

    Read U area of process.
    You can get argument list from U area.
    Though U area is not kerenl, you may be careful to read data using copyin() functions.

  • Business Rule err The following value is not valid for the run time prompt.

    Hyperion Planning v 9.3.3
    I have created a new BR with 2 local variables (created at the time of the BR), Variables are set as run time prompts. They are created as "Member" (not Members). The BR basically does a calc dim on dense and Agg on Sparce other than the prompt on Entity and Version dimensions. The entity variable has a limit on level 0 of the dimension. The Version variable limits to the input (Submit and Sandboxes)
    The BR is associated in Planning with an input web form. Entity and Version are in the page. Is set to Run on Save and Use members on form.
    If the run time prompts Hide boxes are checked, an empty Prompt pops up with only a Submit button. Click the button and an error comes up: "The following value is not valid for the run time prompt it was entered for:. But it does not indicate what member - just ends in the :.
    The BR will run sucessfully only if the Run-time prompt is not hidden - "Hide" in the BR is unchecked. So the syntax and logic of the BR is correct and security should not be an issue.
    The client wants no prompt. In production we have similar situations in which the BR works with the Web Forms without a prompt.
    What am I doing wrong - I have tried restarting the Planning service and the EAS service.

    My preferred method of doing this is:
    1. In business rule, do not hide the run-time prompts. This makes it easy to validate the business rule as you are building it. I only use Global Variables.
    2. On the form, have business rule set to run on save, use members on data form and hide prompt.
    Check that in the business rule, for the variables (Run-Time prompts), that they are all in use. If not, delete them from the business rule. Are all your variables global? Are some local and some global? This could be the issue.
