Portrait (9:16) format screen setting in FCP

Please help!
I am creating the content for Digital Signage. Is there a way to work native 1080 X 1920 (portrait format) in Final Cut. I can not find settings Rotate clockwise 90 deg. for the entire project. Final output must be 1080 X 1920 QT.

You can't rotate your TV set in FCP. You have to create a custom sequence preset that's 1080x1920.

Hello,
When selecting a line or multiple lines on a screen made by me(using a Table Control), I get Invalid field format (screen error). Debugging the code it sends the message when looping the internal table on PAI to check if there were values changed. Is there a reason why this error appears on this?

No need to loop to check whether data is changed after PBO, just check System Field SY-DATAR, it will be set to 'X' if any field was changed.
So the following code is enough;
IF SY-DATAR EQ 'X'.
   PERFORM SAVE_DATA.
ENDIF.

Error in module program - Invalid field format( screen error )

In the module program i have added 1 input field named gv_pallet of 1 character. while processing the transaction when i put value 1 in this input field and press a button i am getting error ' Invalid field format( screen error ) .
I am not geting any clue whats the eror . can anyone able to tell me the error.
Point will be guranted .

Best choice for setting in FCP

Hi there,
I am using for a couple of month a Sony HXR-NX5U NXCAM Professional Camcorder, and I recently encountered two problems :
1)
I noticed that sometimes, when I import sequences in FCP projects, the image is distorted.
I guess I must have chosen the wrong setting when I create my projects...
I am shooting 1980x1080 it is a NTSC camcorder
2)
after compressing with compressor, I wanted to send the m2v file to a DVDSP NTSC project and I got a message saying that my sequence could not be imported in the NTSC project because it was encoded as PAL !!!! I do not remember selecting PAL as my cam is NTSC !
My questions are
- what is the best setting to use when I create new FCP projects
- what did I do wrong when I compressed . I thought that it would be automatically NTSC . Should I choose NTSC somewhere ? the only NTSC choice that I saw was not the right format ...

Your camera shoots a great variety of different formats, HD and SD. The settings you use in FCP are determined by the exact specifications that you shot. What you shoot determines what you set in FCP, what you set for ingest, and then what you set for your sequence. Ideally they all should match.
If you shoot 1920x1080i 29.97fps you set
Format: HD
Rate: 29.97
These two limit the list of items that appear in Use. That's their only purpose.
Here's the thing. The Use popup sets the format for capture, so the only presets that appear there are for capturing from tape. You're not capturing from tape. There is no capture preset that applies to your media. It doesn't matter what you select there, it's going to be wrong for your media. Basically you set what you want here and change it inside FCP.
You're going to use log and transfer. In that window in the gear popup you access the preferences for L&T. You set the format you want to convert to.
In sequence settings you set what sequence settings match the format you transcoded your AVCHD media to.
I strongly urge you to read thoroughly the section in the manual on using log and transfer. We can't teach you how to use the application in forum messages.

MSN Messenger uses wrong inbuilt webcam for video chat on triple screen set up. It uses a cinema display webcam not the iMac webcam.

For some strange reason if i attach my 2 apple cinema displays to my iMac to make a triple screen set up msn messenger video chat does work but it uses the apple cinema display inbuilt webcam and not the iMac webcam. Its annoying as i have to turn sideways to get into the video call view.
So i have a set up like this: an apple cinema display thunderbolt, then in the middle an iMac new then to the right of the iMac another apple thunderbolt cinema display. WWhen i use MSN messenger to make a video call it uses the inbuilt webcam on the far right apple thunderbolt cinema display and not the inbuilt webcam in the iMac in front of me, its annoying any ideas please.
If i unplug both side cinema displays MSN messenger uses the inbuilt camera on the iMac like normal but when i use extra screens it uses the webcam built into those and not the iMacs webcam.

I would try with another client like skype or something
and if it's only msn messanger which have the problem it may
be more of a question for ms's forum?

HT6150 Did the recent Mavericks update and now I am getting the screen "Setting Up Your Mac" It has been this way for an hour...and nothing is going on.

AS soon as I log in I get this screen "Setting Up Your Mac..."
It has been on the computer for quite a while and I can not get back to my desktop.

Here was the answer I found that worked:
Command-Shift-Option-Esc (hold for three seconds) for Force Quit the front-most application (Mac OS X v10.5 or later)
That got to me a new page where I had to enter my security key chain ID, but then wouldn't go any further. So i have rebooted - and lo and behold it opened up OK. It has asked me for a security question, but it now seems to be working OK!! Thanks - hope you get your problem sorted also. I should have copied the name and did not...sorrry.

Mixer window won't stay put w multiple monitors/screen sets

so i have 4 monitors, 3 of which are together and 1 off in another area for other stuff. this is done w 2 standard apple video (Nvivia GT120) cards and a few monitors. the middle one has a higher res than the others but not so much to need the dual dvi.
i want to display the mixer window across all 3 of my main monitors for a full overview in that particular screenset.
the PROBLEM here is that as soon as i switch to another screenset or even select that same screen set while viewing it, the mixer window snaps to allignment w the center monitor so that the left monitor has nothing on it and the right half of the mixer window has fallen off the right screen.
it works just fine when i only spread the mixer across two monitors. but even then sometimes it alligns to the center monitor after while.
is there some setting im missing here?

experts i am doing module in whichi had many check boxes on screen and each check box has function code means i want to do some thing else . but as i click the first or any other check box i get a error message
INVALID FIELD FORMAT (SCREEN ERROR).
Can anyody help me with this asnwers will be rewarded points .

can you please let me know how have you declared you check boxes.
how did you handle the click or the function codes in the user command module in your PAI.
The declaration of your fucntion codes can be done when you create your screen fields and then they need to be handled in the user command module i.e what you want to do when suppose you click on that particular check box.

Invalid field format (screen error)

We are using custom module pool report for displaying information. Information display in Table control which has also Radio button option for the further processing. After unicode conversion we are getting error while accessing the screen as "Invalid field format (screen error)" when user select Radio button. In production environment we are not facing any issue, but in Dev + Qas we have this issue. Nothing is changed as all environment are sync. To solve the issue we re-defined the Radion screen element, but no success we are still getting same error. I am not sure whether it is related to Page Format or something else. Could you please let me know whether anybody faced this issue ? For the information, I already searched on SDN and SNote, but there is no post or SNote

Have you checked if there are overlapping fields on the screen.
I've seen simular errors and usually it was beacuse of some change by SAP that made it so that the defined length of the screen field was suddenly to small.
I'm not saying that this is the case in your situation, but it never hurts to try and change the length of your screen field and see if that resolves the issue.

Resizing portrait and landscape formats

Is it possible to resize portrait and landscape format photographs in one single batch process. So that for example all portrait formats become 800 wide and all landscape formats become 800 high? Or do i have to put them in separate folders before resizing?

Separate folders unfortunately in Elements, unless you first rotate, which is not recommended. You can do it in Lightroom by export and simply specifying the dimension of the long side.

Unwanted screen heading(Tab) in a screen set having only one screen.

We are at the initial phase of go live of SAP Work Manger-6.0 for one of our client.
We found one strange behaviour as mentioned below.
We have one screen set(at bottom),which is part of a tile view(contains two screen sets), The screen set at bottom contains only one platform(Ipad) and only one detail screen(buttons at the bottom of the screen).
It works perfectly fine but sometimes the look and feel gets distorted, which causes an issue to the end users.
I mean, some times the screen appears as a tab with a black row and a blank yellow box(as highlighted in red in the 2nd screen). Which reduces the size of the screen and hence the buttons become very small in size.
Details :-
SMP Server-2.3 SP05
SAP Work Manger-6.0
Agentry Client-6.1.5.49 (WPF)

Order Confirmation screen setting?

If you are talking about the transaction IW42 and how to set each user's settings you would use menu path Extras -> Settings, choose the appropriate Confirmation profile, and Save. Each user will have to perform this action in IW42 to set the default screen layout. The confirmation profiles are set up under Set Screen Templates for Completion Confirmation in the IMG path Plant Maintenance and Customer Service -> Maintenance and Service Processing -> Completion Confirmations -> Set Screen Templates for Completion Confirmation.
Not sure if this answers the specific question, but I hope it helps.

Buttons set in FCP do not appear in compressor preview

I would have expected that markers set in FCP would be seen and useful as chaprter marlkers in compressor.
Is there some reason they do not appear, which is my case?

As you may know, Apple has only give token support for Blu-Ray over the years. The Share to Blu-Ray option is important to some people, but it is in no way a full-fledged authoring solution of the type you're looking for.It will give you rudimentary menu and chapter options and is really designed for single files.
If you don't want to try some PC solutions, two Blu-Ray alternatives come to mind: 1) Toast Titanium and 2) Adobe Encore. Encore is a popular choice, but the catch is that it's only availabe by purchasing Premiere Production Suite (which I belive costs $1,600). Toast, while more limited in capabilities, is around $100.

Dialog Screen - Invalid field format (screen error)

I have developed a modal dialog screen and succesfully invoked it with CALL SCREEN command in the main screen. Unfortunately, it always returns "Invalid field format (screen error)" when clicking on the dialog's GUI control such as button or radio button. Anyone encountered this before??

Hi KK,
Just make sure that the fields take on the screen are also declared in the top module of your program.
And also match their data-types and size i.e., declared in top module and on the screen in their respective attributes.
