  • Edited a short video. Program Crashed. I can see the video still saved but can't view it or edit it.

    The top of the picture, the "new event 1" i can do anything with. I can cut it down and view it but the video i was working on, the lower half of the screen the "RBFD" file i can't do anything with. Can't open it, view it or edit it. I'm attempting to add the top video to it but i can't do that either.

    Ok, did that and one of the times it actually came up but i wasn't able to view nor add any more video. I decided to delete it and start fresh. Did so and closed out of the program opened it back up and it continues to show this file.  I can delete it but every time i restart Imovie it reappears. But i uploaded the same clip i was originally editing and imovie continues to freeze. And i can't even force quit it i have to manually turn my computer off or else i can't do anything. The file on the bottom is what continues to come up but also is there anyway to stop the freezing. Anyway to reinstall the program or anything. I've tried the "go to the library and delete that certain file" and that doesn't seem to have done anything unless i'm not doing it correctly.

  • BUG:  Program crashes when trying to edit Capture Date

    For some reason a few photos have bad (seriously bad) dates. Whenever I try to edit these using the edit capture date feature in the metadata menu, the program crashes.

    Hmm.. what is "seriously bad date"? Month has more than 31 days? Not only numeric characters there in date?
    Anyway, I can imagine only two scenarious seeing in LR:
    1. LR shows uncorrect date (as you expect),
    2. LR doesn't show capture date at all.
    Workaround:
    1. Check with some another exif reader what's really written in image file,
    2. Image doesn't contain capture date tag at all or capture date doesn't conform to exif standard (was messed with some exif tool or image editor). Again check with some exif reader (ExifTool recommended).

  • Program crash after editing individual tracks

    When I'm recording a multitrack music project in Soundtrack Pro, I often double-click an individual track to work on it as a stereo file. Lately, almost without exception, after I've worked on an individual track, and save it, the program crashes. The error message says: "An Unexpected Problem . . . CNSExceptionWrapper type 16777216 . . . could not parse the file URL 'file://localhost/Volumes/RAID/TemporaryItems/folders.501/TemporaryItems/..."
    I've tried resetting the locations for Temporary Items to the Soundtrack Pro Temporary Items folder on my hard drive, which has plenty of free space. But I'm still having the problem...suggestions?

    Utilizing all the cores and all the memory is not what you are after. You have to leave resources for other processes and you have to make sure that your system has enough resources to do things like decode footage in the background and process the effects you are setting up in AE. Some video codecs do not respond well to MP rendering so you may have to turn that off or transcode your footage to something that works.
    As Myenium said your question lacked the details necessary to even guess what is going wrong. The best option to troubleshoot your problem is to reset your preferences to the default settings then see if the project works. If it doesn't start exploring things like source footage formats for problems. Then start adjusting your memory and MP settings using the guidelines that Adobe has published for optimizing performance.

  • Why can't we have Camera Raw 8.5 open as an external editor in Lightroom 5 to allow using the new filter brush

    ARC 8.5 has a new filter brush for the graduated filter which will allow deleting areas from the applied area - why/how can ACR 8.5 be set as a external editor to allow access to this ability???  . Or when will Lightroom be upgraded to have this feature?
    Thanks

    ACR 8.5 is a plug-in for Photoshop not a standalone program.  I’d suggest doing an Edit In Photoshop CC/2014 and then using Filter / Camera Raw in PS to do your edits.
    I would also LR will be upgraded at some point, but maybe not until 6.0.  It’s hard to say, since the LR folks are having to deal with LR mobile things, now, too, PS is part of the cloud, and a promise of the cloud is to get new functionality sooner.

  • Program crashes when I try to load EPUB/ASCM ebook file or transfer the file to Nook ereader.

    I recently checked out an ebook from my library's OverDrive and downloaded the EPub file to my Mac OS 10.10.1 computer. File downloaded to computer without incident, showing up as a acsm file in my Downloads folder. But when I attempt to open the file in Adobe Digital Editions 4.0.2 in order to transfer it to my Nook ereader, a message comes up saying it is fulfilling (similar to normal) but then the program crashes.
    I get this error message:
    (Adobe Digital Editions quit unexpectedly.
    Click Reopen to open the application again. Click Report to see more
    detailed information and send a report to Apple.
    With buttons that say: Ignore    Report     Reopen)
    Then when I reopen Adobe Digital Editions, it appears as thought the file is in the Adobe Digital Editions browser, but if I click on it to open it or try and transfer it to my Nook ereader device the program crashes again. (Same error message)
    I've tried erasing the file and redownloading the ebook from Google Chrome, Safari and Firefox and the same thing happens. I've also tried restarting my computer and looking for updates to resolve the issue (there were none). I've used this program before with no issues, so this problem is new. I've also tried opening other files since, they most of those seem to open as well.I've used this program before with no issues, so this problem is new.
    Running out of ideas. Please help!

    Mike, that worked -- I think! I couldn't change the printer without a document open, but while I was in the File menu, I noticed the "Browse in Bridge" command, and it occurred to me that I hadn't tried opening a file from Bridge. It opened first to the templates, and I realized I had not tried opening a template. So I did, that worked, and I changed the printer from where it was set (Adobe pdf) to my regular printer. Now I can create new files, and all files seem to open without a problem. Thanks!

    Hello,having a problem with Logic 9 on a Mac Pro.Working on a lenghty song and apparently session got corrupted.Doesnt let me export tracks,program crashes.Already tried start brand new session with the tracks imported into it but still wont export.Suggestions?

    Thanks, Ian. Yeah, that's how I do it now...or with the controls in the left side pane. Still, I would have liked that quick on-the-spot edit capability...especially while sketching.
    Ian Turner wrote:
    Sorry Mark, you are out of luck as it does not do that - it works the same as L8. The way I would achieve that with more accuracy and control would be to route all the tracks you want to fade to a Bus then use volume automation on the bus. To do this you will need to add a standard audio track, then re-assign it using (Control Click on the track header) to the Bus track. You can then automate volume/plugins etc on the Bus track.

  • Program crashes without error message when opening a database

    One of our users is experiencing an issue with Discoverer Desktop whereby the program crashes with no error message when he attempts to open a database from a local or network drive. If he logs in to Windows as himself, and runs Discoverer as himself, the program crashes under any Discoverer login; if I log in to Windows using an admin account, and run the program under the same context, the same issue occurs; however, if I log in to Windows as the user and run the program under the context of admin, the error does not occur under any Discoverer login.
    I've tried removing and reinstalling the program but this has not alleviated the issue. The program version is 10.1.2.55 running on Windows XP SP3. If there are any other relevant details required to diagnose the issue I will gladly provide them. Could someone please help me resolve this?

    Welcome to the forums !
    Has this ever worked ? Pl see if MOS Doc 197716.1 (Running Discoverer Desktop on Windows 2000 Or Later Releases As a Restricted User Fails With "Failed to update the system registry. Please try using REGEDIT.") can help.
    One option might be to install Process Monitor (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896645.aspx) to identify the cause of the issue.

  • LabVIEW program crashes after running for few hours

    Hello,
    I am doing some experiments at the moment which are supposed to last for 18 hours.
    Basically, I use a LabVIEW program to control a power supply through a LabJack U6 DAQ. I am currently using LabVIEW 8.5 on Windows 7.
    In order to do that, I use a laptop where everything has been disabled such as power management settings, network access is off, windows updates are also off...
    As far as I know, the computer can't turn into sleep mode or just shut down (I'm a 100% sure of that actually).
    But last night, I started an 18 hours experiment at 5 pm, and when I came in this morning, the program shutted down by itself. Fortunately, the power supply is still providing the voltage I want, but I can't figure out why the program crashes.
    When I start the experiment, it also automatically starting saving data in a spreadsheet file (I guess the size of the file should be 36 MB), so it might be a problem of memory access or something.
    I really don't know what could have cause this crash, does someone have an idea?
    I saw some other threads similar to my problem but I am not running an executable, I am running the front panel directly from the editing mode.

    Hi,
    thank all of you for your quick answers!
    @Josborne : I do not have an error handling in my program. Actually you can look at my program in the attachment file. This is my first LabVIEW program so I've never dealt with error in and error out function... Moreover, what is a log file exactly?
    @Johnsold : Yes, I am building an array continously growing over time. Actually, my program stops saving data when you hit the "STOP" button, it doesn't write into a spreadsheet file through a period of time, that is something I eventually need to correct.
    @LabJackSupport : I can try to reduce my time step, so far it's 100 ms. I have a problem with disconnecting the USB cable from the computer though : for no reason, if I just unplug the connection between the LabJack U6 and the computer, my power supply will just go providing 157 Volts! And for my experiment, this is something we don't want to have so we just leave it as it is now. Disabling some part of the program is a good idea, I can try it
    Thank you for your answers

  • LR CC, LR6: How To Set Filter Brushes Reliably to ADD ?

    Hi, in the new Lightroom versions, the new filter brush can ADD to or SUBTRACT from the area affected by graduated filter or radial filter.
    But i am not sure how to *reliably* set a brush to ADD or to SUBTRACT. I had assumed:
    - brush "Erase" does subtract (minus sign within cursor)
    - brushes "A" and "B" do add (plus sign within cursor); if you press Alt, brushes switch temporarily to "Erase" brush
    But i had at least one instance where brushes A and B only *subtracted* and there was no way to get them back to *adding* (except by restarting LR with a different language).
    Do you know if there is way to *permanently* set brushes A and B to ADD? Or at least: How to bring brushes A and B back to ADD when for some reason they are fixated on SUBTRACT?
    In Photoshop's raw dialog, the same task is very easy – there are two brushes, one with a plus sign and one with a minus sign, and they always work as expected.
    I searched a lot of sites, but none answers my above question.
    ---snip---
    As we are here already, i have another question regarding the mask overlay for gradual filter etc.: Initially, the mask overlay is red. In Lightroom, I can switch to other colors with Shift-O.
    Can i also
    - change opacity of mask overlay
    - invert mask overlay appearance, so that non-selected areas are overlaid?
    It's possible in Photoshop's ACR, but perhaps not in LR?
      Thanks!

    Hi
    No other component required. WDR_SELECT_OPTIONS uses OVS component internally, you can see the component usage also in WDR_SELECT_OPTIONS.
    Add the seleciton Field
    wd_this->lr_helper->add_selection_field(
                    i_id = 'ATFLV'
                    IT_RESULT = LR_TABLE
                    I_DESCRIPTION = 'Msg'
                    i_obligatory = abap_true
                I_VALUE_HELP_TYPE =
    IF_WD_VALUE_HELP_HANDLER=>CO_PREFIX_OVS
                    I_VALUE_HELP_STRUCTURE = 'ZPP_ROUT_PROD'
                    I_VALUE_HELP_STRUCTURE_FIELD = 'MS_FLAG'
    ZPP_ROUT_PROD is a structure created and MS_FLAG is the field in the structure, for which we are developing Value help
    Now,
    WDR_SELECT_OPTIONS has an event int he Interface called ON_OVS, subscribe the event in your view,
    from here onwards it is like Using normal OVS, you have phases put a case statement and code accordingly

  • Has anyone had any of the iLife programs crash on them? especially imovie 6

    Has anyone had any of the iLife programs crash on them?
    I have had my new intel imac 20" for 2 weeks now and i like it a lot...
    except I have been getting crashes on imovie (especially), and garageband.
    I have had about 10 crashes total so far in about 2 weeks.
    Is this sound normal?
    thanks, technoreid

    How much spare hard disc space have you got? ..Could your disc be so clogged that there's no room for any more movie?
    You'll need about 10% of your total hard disc space - e.g; 6GB for a 60GB hard disc - to be kept empty for your Mac to do its "housekeeping" (..creating temporary files, indexing things, and so on..) and iMovie footage uses about 13GB per hour of video.
    So if you have a 60GB hard disc, and it's only got 15GB spare, then 6GB of that will really be needed by the Mac itself, giving you about 9GB of usable space, and if you import half an hour of video (6GB) and start cutting it around and editing the audio too, and duplicating a few clips, and adding stills, you're soon going to run out of space!
    If your Mac's disc is almost full, you'll probably need to get an external FireWire disc ..say a 160GB or similar size.. then format it as 'Mac OS Extended' (..by selecting that add-on disc and using the 'Erase' tab in the Disk Utility program..) and then you can copy your project over to that new, empty disc, and continue editing it there.

  • Program crashes when trying to return item early

    I have been having this issue since I started using Adobe Digital Editions in April 2014, but I never thought to search for a solution until now.  Whenever I try to return a borrowed item early, I get one of two responses:
    1. an error message that reads "Error returning item.  License Server Communication Problem: E_BAD_LOAN_ID". (less often)
    2. an error message stating that Adobe Digital Editions has stopped working and that the program needs to close.  There is an option to debug but this also leads to the program crashing. (most often)
    I have checked with the library and they refer me to Adobe for a solution because other clients are not having issues with borrowed ebooks.  I am running Windows 8.1 Pro and Digital Editions version 3.0.
    I read through the forum entries earlier and noticed that a couple of other users had this issue back in Sep 2014 but no solution was offered.  Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    Hmm.. what is "seriously bad date"? Month has more than 31 days? Not only numeric characters there in date?
    Anyway, I can imagine only two scenarious seeing in LR:
    1. LR shows uncorrect date (as you expect),
    2. LR doesn't show capture date at all.
    Workaround:
    1. Check with some another exif reader what's really written in image file,
    2. Image doesn't contain capture date tag at all or capture date doesn't conform to exif standard (was messed with some exif tool or image editor). Again check with some exif reader (ExifTool recommended).

  • Using InDesign CC on Windows 7 Ultimate.  Every time I hit the text tool button the program crashes

    When using InDesign CC, every time I hit the text tool button, the program crashes.

    Arpit thanks, I have almost exactly the same issue, except that any editing of any kind in my Indesign CC seems to cause a crash.Windows 7 home premium.64bit
    I have received the same solution as you gave above, from the tech team, but cant find the correct file to add the "CopyPlugins.vbs script." to....I get an error message telling me to try again and chose the file adobe indesign CC, and yet that's what I'm doing. There must be an instruction missing for finding the correct file.
