Portrait/Landscape: Shown incorrectly

Hi,
I have created an iBook for ipad. On my ipad, my iBook is shown correctly in landscape but incorrectly in portait mode.
Is it possible to have ONE iBook with pictures, text, galleries, HTML-Code, widgets in landscape AND portrait mode? All things should be shown brilliant, as it is now in landscape.
Thanks
michel

Thanks for that, I'd obviously accidentally set the lock and had been checking all the other settings over and over trying to find something to turn it off...finally!
Not the most intuitive place to put it really...for me anyway. Maybe a duplicate function in the global settings somewhere would have been nice too.

  • How do I get the "auto portrait/landscape" option to show during printing in Adobe Reader Touch

When I print using Adobe Reader Touch, the "auto portrait/landscape" options does not show up.  As a result, all pages in a document are printed in the same orientation even if they are not all of the same orientation in the file itself.  I don't believe this is a printer issue because if I use Adobe Reader X (v. 10.1.6) on the same computer/printer, the auto option does show up and the documents print as desired.  I use Windows 8.  As the video quality of Adobe Reader X is extremely blurry in Windows 8, I would like to be able to use Adobe Reader Touch exclusively.  How do I get the latter to give me the "auto portrait/landscape" option during printing?
    Thank you,
    Pelle

    Hello Pelle,
Thanks for the feedback. Our printing code in Adobe Reader Touch doesn't have that capability right now, but since you mention it we should probably do what you're requesting by default. I'll put that into our backlog for a future update, but I can't say yet when it will be available.
In the interim, if you have pages that are different orientations, you can print them in blocks manually to get what you want, but I understand that's a hassle.

  • Cp2025n color laserjet manual duplexing side two portrait & landscape transition issue

I regularly print the same documents. Each document has a portrait section, a landscape section, a portrait section then a landscape section, then a portrait section. I manually duplex the job (because I did not buy a duplexer and I am saving trees).
On the first side of the page, everything works great... job runs straight through the printer then I am prompted to insert the half printed pages into tray 1 and push OK on the printer.  The first portrait section is printed. The printer stops on the first landscape page and prompts me to load paper into tray 1 (even though it is already there) and push OK again, I do so, and it proceeds till the job switches to portrait mode, prompts me to load paper into tray 1 (even though it is already there) and push OK again, I do so, and it proceeds till the job switches to landscape mode, etc... making me babysit the printer as it prints the second side of each job.
I have multiple different print jobs with the similar layout... portrait, landscape, portrait, landscape, and finishing with portrait. All of them behave the same. The number of pages in the portrait section and landscape section vary by job and within job. The prompt from the printer is always at the transition point between portrait & landscape mode.  The printer only stops when printing side two of the page.
I believe I am running the most current drivers and software on my PC for the printer. The update task runs regularly and is not informing me that there is new software available. The only indication of what firmware is running on the printer is this info
    Firmware Datecode: 20100512
This strikes me as a printer driver issue... Anybody got any other ideas? Anybody noticed this same issue? Can someone from HP test this out for themselves and verify there is a problem? I have tried searching the forums but every post I have found so far is not on point.
    Thanks!

  • Portrait landscape mystery switch

photos in my iPhoto library have mysteriously gone from one orientation to the other.
maybe related background --- This mystery was preceeded by an error when syncing my iPhone that said "the following image was not copied to your iPhone because it can not be viewed..." (something like that). However this specific error photo has not changed orientation and was not recently edited. This error may not be related at all to the portrait landscape mystery switch - but I just mention it to be complete. I tried editing this image that was not copied - to see if some change/edit and save might right it - but it didn't.
the specific portrait landscape mystery switch ---
I sync my iPhone to my iMac almost every day.
Yesterday I noticed a photo on my iPhone had changed orientation. This morning I noticed a few others.
I tried editing them in iPhoto - and I see that the iPhoto preview shows the photo in the "wrong" orientation. When I double-click on the photo to edit it - it appears in the "right" orientation. (This is strange enough!)
On the iphone these same photos are in the "wrong" orientation.
In one album (for example) with 44 photos - about 6 of them have mysteriously switched orientation. In another album with 11 photos - 4 of them have switched orientation.

So what happened to my 15,000+ iPhoto library?
Recent activity - I took photos and video on a vacation - 700+ total. While on vacation I moved them around using a macbook pro. When I got home I merged this library with my main iPhoto library on my iMac. Everything was fine for a few weeks - editing, emailing, mobileme, etc.
The first trouble I noticed was that an error was reported when I would sync my iPhone with my iMac. "photo could not be copied to the iPhone because it can not be viewed" or something like that. It was an old photo that I had edited and it was in the correct orientation.
The next trouble I noticed was photos on my iPhone had mysteriously "fallen over". Photos in portrait had gone to landscape. This was strange and over then next few days - as I looked thru my albums in iPhoto more - I noticed more and more photos mysteriously changed orientation.
Another indicator of trouble was when I selected a photo that had fallen over and clicked "edit" in iPhoto the photo could (I recall some did and some didn't) appear in the correct orientation. In other words - it seemed that the thumbnail did not match the file. I saw this with photos that were in albums that were in sync with my iPhone. The photo on the iPhone was "wrong", the thumbnail was "wrong", click edit and the file photo was in the correct (desired) orientation.
As I was working thru this trouble I had a few photos go missing. The thumbnail would be in iPhoto but clicking on it gave a triangle with the exclaimation point.
I tried rebuilding the iPhoto database. The process stopped. The Activity Monitor showed a process and cpu activity but nothing happened. No halts were reported in the Activity Monitor. The process ran for over 37 hours. When I Forced Quit - clicking on iPhoto opened a new blank library. I tried holding the alt key and navigating to the correct file - no good. Next I deleted the iPhoto library and restored the file from Time Machine. The file opened as expected with the fallen-over photos and all. (I love Time Machine!)
I tried again by repairing file permissions system wide. Then, repairing permissions in the iPhoto database. Checking photos all the same troubles. I tried to rebuild the database using the command + option key press at startup and it stopped again at some point many many hours into the process.
    SOLUTION
I deleted the iPhoto database and brought forward the backup from Time Machine. I ran iPhoto Library Manager and built a new iPhoto library. As the 15,000+ photos flashed by - I did notice that a few (hard to keep track really) of the photos that had fallen over were duplicates. A dialog presented the photo in the correct orientation as the existing photo and asked if I wanted to import another (the other photo was in the wrong orientation). I selected "do not import" (so as not to import the duplicate photo in the wrong orientation) and the process continued. iPhoto failed to quit at the end of the process - which scared me for a few minutes. When the process finished I opened the iPhoto library. iPhoto Library Manager also presented a long error message that was cryptic - I was tired - so I clicked thru it.
I ran the iPhoto rebuild database on the file and it completed within a few hours.
This morning I made a couple albums and ran the sync with my iPhone.
All the photos in the few selcted albums are standing-up in the correct orientation. These are photos that were previously fallen over - in the wrong orientation.
    Everything looks good right now.
    SUGGESTED
    - Use Time Machine - it's brought me out of the dark - more than once - flawlessly!!!
    - iPhoto Library Manager is a must have
    Hope this benefits the community.

  • Problems with portrait/landscape alignment at DIA show.

Problems with portrait/landscape alignment at DIA show.
At DIA show the landscape / portrait alignment is mixed up some times, and getting worse if I go forward backward. Also the size is sometimes not correct. I have roughly 2000 pictures. If I see the pictures in normal sorting view or the working view, it is fine. I am using mac book air. OS and iPhoto using the latest version. I am using German language. I expect this problem has come with iPhoto 11. Before it was working fine.
I have already written a mail to apple, maybe I get a replay. But maybe somebody could tell me how to fix this problem. I have tried to fix this with iPhoto Library manager without success.

What version of iPhoto do you have? 9.4.1?  And which theme are you using for your slide show in iPhoto? Is it one of the new themes designed for a mixture of portrait and landscape photos, like "Holiday Mobile" or "Scrapbook"?
It lloks like your library has a corruption.
I have tried to fix this with iPhoto Library manager without success.
Have you also tried the built-in library first aid tools? See:  iPhoto 6 and later: Rebuilding the iPhoto library

  • How to set Auto Portrait/Landscape as default

    Hello all,
My organization uses Adobe Reader 10.1.2. I am trying to figure out how to set up Adobe Reader to automatically select "Auto portrait/landscape" option in the printing screen when an item is printed from within Adobe Reader.
As of now, when I go to Print a file, it automatically selects "Portrait" (or whatever the default orientation is for the default printer).  I would like for "Auto portrait/landscape" to come up as the default selected option when printing.
Can anyone help with this? Thank you in advance!

    Hi,
Thanks for trying to help me out with this. To answer your question, yes I have checked the properties of my printer driver. The default printer is set to Portrait. When I try to print through Adobe Reader, the printing is automatically set to Portrait. which makes sense, except that I want it to be set to Auto Portrait/Landscape.
On some computers, Adobe Reader printing window is set to Auto Portrait/Landscape by default, so I know it can be done, but on others it is set to Portrait (the default option of the default printer). I am trying to find out why some computers are set to the Auto Portrait/Landscape option by default when printing in Adobe, while others are set to the default printer option.
All computers have Portrait as default in their default printer properties.

  • How do I get Adobe Reader XI to default to Auto Portrait/landscape when I print?

How do I get Adobe Reader XI to default to Auto Portrait/landscape when I print?

I too am looking into this issue for someone at my work and hoping someone can provide a resolution for this nuisance.
It is correct that that Auto Portrait/Landscape is usually set to default for Adobe Reader XI. One day, Portrait was randomly switched as the default setting. Granted the setting could be set back to Auto on a per file basis, this slowed down the time to mass print several landscape reports.  The problem only occurred under one Windows account profile while other user accounts defaulted to Auto as expected. Uninstalling the software, clearing out all Adobe traces from Programs/Program Data/Application Data/Registry, and reinstalling the software did not make any difference. All printer preferences/configurations were the same amongst the different user accounts.
While it would sound like rebuilding that one person's profile would be the final solution, it wouldn't be ideal to reconfigure the several remote connections with banks and hospitals (we're an anesthesia billing company) on a new profile for what might be a simple, yet elusive fix to this print setting. I have noticed other posts on other sites mention this issue, but no resolutions have been provided yet. I'm sure part of what makes this difficult to resolve is the inability to replicate this issue elsewhere.

  • Problems in Guidance (Portrait / Landscape)

    Software used:
Crystal Reports VCL Component for Delphi / C + + Builder
    Version: 9.0.0.0
Updated with the latest service pack available: cr90win_en_sp6.exe, cr90win_en_sp7.exe
Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 3
    Delphi 7
I'm using the Component Ucrpe32 Crystal.
Problems in Guidance (Portrait / Landscape)
In the configuration of this report as Landscape, but when viewing the report is as Portrait. To print correctly must trigger the Printer Setup button and then trigger the Print button.
Note: When viewing the report step by instruction crpRelat.Printer.PreserveRptSettings: = prOrientation, prPaperSize, but even so the report comes with the configuration of picture, even if the report is with the configuration of Landscape.
I have some printers that these problems occur, one of the printers is the HP LaserJet 1020 and the driver has been updated with the HP Web site.
Somewhere I find the instructions that are executed in the Printer Setup button?
    Do you have any solution?

  • Windows 10 Has no automatic Portrait / Landscape option

My brokerage statement has the first two pages in Portrait and the remaining pages in Landscape.  I print the monthly statement double-sided.  Earlier Windows versions: Windows XP and Windows 8 printed the statement on an HP 3522 correctly.  Windows 10 only prints a document, as selected, in Portrait or Landscape. I am currently working around this problem by printing the first two pages, double-sided, in Portrait.  Then printing the remaining pages, double-sided, in Landscape. Hopefully, Microsoft will correct this limitation.

Hi , Welcome to the HP Forums! I see that your Windows 10 Has no automatic Portrait / Landscape option, for your HP Deskjet 3522. I am happy to help!  Perhaps, their is a driver conflict with an older driver. I would recommend to try our HP Print and Scan Doctor first to see if it can detect any errors. If not, the following steps may help restore that functionality:  Uninstall the software. Uninstalling the Printer Software.Clean boot the computer. How to perform a clean boot in Windows.Disable any Antivirus programs. Disable Antivirus software.Disable any firewall programs. Windows Firewall from start to finish.Create a new user account. Managing User Accounts and Logins (Windows 8).Reinstall using the HP Printer Install Wizard for Windows. (These steps will work on Windows 10.) Hope this helps!  “Please click the Thumbs up icon below to thank me for responding.”

  • [iPhone] How to change Portrait / Landscape mode.

I am tring to change view mode between portrait and landscape mode.
UIViewController has two UIViewes and I want them to be shown as a landscape mode.
I found the property of interfaceOrientation in UIViewcontroller.
    but it is readonly.
Is there a way to change view orientation not with info.plist but with code.

You can call setStatusBarOrientation on the UIApplication class and then set your landscape view.

  • PDF document merging - portrait/landscape

When I try to merge 2 pdf documents using the XML Publisher API's (PDFDocMerger), I notice that, if my second file is in landscape mode, after merging the content of second file is shown in portrait mode with data being chopped off from the page. I tried adding a new section at the end of first pdf doc in landscape mode, but this does not help.
I want the merged documents to retain the orientation of the page layout of the individual pdf''s. Is there a property I need to set.

Reader cannot create PDFs. You'd need to ask in the Acrobat Forum, as your scanner probably uses it to make the PDF.

  • Portrait/landscape problems.

Photos taken in 'portrait' (camera turned 90 degrees) usually upload into iPhoto correctly. Just one batch have uploaded incorrectly and, although portrait in the library thumbnails, are loading individually, full frame, as landscape. The only way I've found to rectify this is to rotate thumbnails thro 90 degrees so the pictures are wrong in library thumbnails but load properly when selected individually for full frame display. This has only happened for one batch of uploads from the memory card, its usually OK. Any ideas how I can get thumbnails AND photos the right way up on screen?

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the apple and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild.

  • Portrait/landscape orientation from MS Word to .pdf

I just converted my first Word document to a .pdf with Adobe.com Air.  The Word doc was created in a portrait orientation, but the .pdf
came out in a landscape orientation.  Can't figure out how to correct?

The original was an MS Word document (.doc) created with page set up for portrait orientation.  It shows and prints
in portrait orientation.  I converted to a .pdf on Adobe.com and the pdf file was in landscape.  When the pdf is viewed (previewed?)
on Adobe.com, it appears in landscape.  It is a one page document and was never saved to any other format.  Since the original Word
document is in the correct format, how would I alter the formating to re-upload and convert again?  I have attached both the .doc & .pdf files.
