Portuguese Support for Touchpad's Keyboard

Hi all,
I wonder if someone could help me.
I would like to know where I can find a patch/update or app that offers portuguese language for the keyboard.
If it doesn't exist... is HP planning to offer more language support for the Touchpad???
Thanks,
Jeff

If Thai is not a selection for the language when you first setup your TP, then it is not supported. Search the app catalog for any language apps. that may be avail. you can also look on webosnation.com for apps that are avaqil. from their site. they may have a program for Thai language support.
If there are no apps avail. you can leave your feedback for the Thai language support request at HP, http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/email_3.html?jumpid=ex_r11694_redirect_us_en_sept11_palm

  • No 3G iPhone support for Greek language/keyboard!

Last Friday, the very first day of appearance of iPhone in the greek market, I bought, from a greek Vodafone shop, a 16GB iPhone 3G.
It was quite a bad surprise and disappointment to me, when i realized that greek language was not included and supported in the international language and keyboard package of the device! That makes it the first mobile phone Vodafone provides to the greek market, without supporting greek language! When I mentioned that to Vodafone people, here in Athens, Greece, they blamed Apple for that problem. They said that a new firmware update is expected by Apple, and probably then the problem will be solved!!
So, ladies and gentlemen, is there any information about the availability of greek language/keyboard support for the 3G iPhone?
    Thank you for your time

i sen this to support under enhancement request in case anyone is bored of typing:
    Hi,
I recently signed a contract with vodafone Greece for 46 € plan (one of the more expensive from the countries that the iPhone is available) in order to get an iPhone 3G 16GB for 430 € (also one of the highest prices of iPhone with a contract) only to find out that there is no Greek Keyboard. This is unacceptable. I don't care for which other countries you have made keyboard or not (although you make sure to rub it in my face) but the essence of the iphone is that it is a tool to have with you all the time and if the is no ability to right in your native language it is rendered useless. The think that is more frustrating is that those who bought the iPhone from abroad (at 1/4 of the price) and jailbroke it have a Greek keyboard, made by Greek hackers/programmers.
Today comes, as i am told the 2.1 firmware update and i sincerely hope that it has the Greek keyboard in it otherwise my (and many other i spoke with that bought the iPhone due to its features and not due to the Apple brand) loyalty to the Apple brand (which is already in bad shape due to the Greek retailer Rainbow) is going to be in jeopardy.
    please fix this
    thank you

  • Multi-language support for iPod Touch keyboard

"There might be an app for that" sounds good, but trying to find anything on the Apple site is a nightmare. I'm simply looking for a multi-language touch keyboard application for my iPod Touch.
I type quite a bit in German and need to easily switch between English (Qwerty) and German keyboards.
Does anyone know of an App for this? If so, could you please post the URL?
    Thanks

It's built in to your iPod Touch. See page 30 of the User Guide.

  • Documents To Go support for Palm Portable Keyboard Shortcuts

I’m using a Palm Tungsten E along with a Palm Wireless Keyboard (IR).
When using an application such as Memos, all the usual Palm Portable Keyboard Shortcuts (cursor movements, etc.) are supported.
When using DataViz Word To Go (Ver. 6.008 (761)), however, none of the usual keyboard shortcuts will function, making document editing (especially corrections and revisions) a total nightmare.
Has anyone else encountered this issue and, if so, how do I resolve it?

Their support model (unless you're prepared to fork out more money, I suppose) consists entirely of searching their inadequate knowledgebase; this contain only help articles, not bug reports along these lines.
I've always (and still) thought that the Dataviz knowledgebase was pretty good, and I have almost always found answers to my questions there.
Did you come across this article in your search, which solved the problem I was having with my Palm Universal Wireless Keyboard?  It's a simple matter of disabling the Active Text Field feature.

  • App / Browser Support for iPad bluetooth keyboard

I recently purchased the Zagg Slim Book (a bluetooth keyboard case) for my iPad air 2.
The main reason I bought this was so that I could use cloud IDE (code editors) such as cloud9 and code anywhere.
    However,
With these websites and other similar websites, i cannot use the arrow keys and on some websites I cannot even type at all within the site.
I used a keyboard checker website to see if it recognized my key presses, and while I was able to type, it said I was not pressing anything.
    - Note: I tried 5 different browsers including safari.
This leads me to believe that the keyboard is not doing the typing directly; rather, it must be handing the key presses off to the iPad which handles the output in some special way.
    So,
Can someone confirm what I am assuming?
I need to know how a bluetooth ipad keyboard is different than a normal keyboard so that I can know which one (if any) I should buy in order to use it within websites.
    - is it up to the keyboard manufacturers to determine how the output works?
    - Does apple have some sort of standard or api which manufacturers use to make their keyboard?
    - is there some sort of keyboard settings that I can change in the iPad settings that will change the output type?
Sorry if this belongs in developer section, I am hoping this is the right place.

Ahhh. This makes total sense now that I think about it.
However, why do apps work but websites do not?
    Thanks!

I'm very interested to be able to write in Ukrainian language on BlackBerry 10. However, the Ukrainian layout is missing. Thus, I created a new feature request which you can find here: https://www.blackberry.com/jira/browse/BBTEN-858.

Any news on this at all? Any word from BlackBerry or elsewhere that Ukrainian will be included as a keyboard input option in future OS updates?
No news from my side but there's an article on ITC.ua which states that Ukrainian mobile operator MTS announced Ukrainian language support for BlackBerry 7 and 10 to be delivered by this summer. Not sure, however, whether it will be included in all ROMs or in some custom MTS one. Here's this article: http://itc.ua/news/smartfonyi-blackberry-poluchat-podderzhku-ukrainskogo-yazyika/

  • Is accelerometer support for keyboard position available for SMS or IM?

I have been a RIM Blackberry user for about 10 yrs. I finally jump the ship (and carrier)and got 3g iPhone. It is a great device.
However one thing I absolutely hates is the typing on iPhone. I am used to typing with both thumbs when I was using BB. I only see accelerometer rotated keypad in few applications on iPhone. Unfortunately none of SMS or IM type application uses horizonal axis keypad (which will be extremely helpful). I figure that is when you could maximize real estate of keypad.
    <Edited by Moderator>
See prototype of next BB 9500 screen keypad. Something like this will be easier to type ( http://crackberry.com/exclusive-first-live-pics-blackberry-thunder )

I came from a Blackberry too, and I regularly type with two thumbs on the iPhone. I had to first learn how to trust the auto-correction. I just type away and more often than not, it gets everything just as I expected. Knowing that, even if you only come "close" to the letter you want, it'll be right, helped my speed greatly.
After that, I just needed to practice. I started out as the video suggested... with an index finger getting used to the layout. Now, if I ever have the iPhone on it's side in Safari and the WIIDE keyboard comes up, I flip it back vertical because my muscle memory is so used to the narrow keyboard, trying to switch between the two is a hassle (especially because, in the wide view, my thumbs has to move SOOO FAAARR).
Sorry, didn't answer your question... no, there's no wide keyboard support for SMS or IM. One workaround might be to use the browser version of an IM client.

  • Support for croatian keyboard

I would like to know if team for Adobe Story will include support for a croatian type of keyboard or at least, include support for croatian letters ? Thanks in advance

You'll have to wait for some time. We'll try to get to it soon. Till that time I would really encourage you to continue working in Story in other languages that are available. Thanks for your patience. Also let us know if you have some feature requests on your mind.

  • Macally drops support for Post-Op/iMedia FCP Keyboard on Intels

Though I doubt you can buy one anymore, and Post-Op the company I paid $180.00 to, no longer sells them, I thought I would post this info for those using it now, or finding an old one on e-bay.
PRODUCT: Post-Op EZ keyboard is just a repackaged Macally iMedia Key keyboard. You used the Macally iMedia software to program the custom button along the top, and you could program an eject button, which the new Mac Pros need, (though F12 would work for one optical bay). While the keys still work for input, without updated software you can't program the buttons now on Intel Tiger or Intel Leopard. I wrote them and this was the Christmas cheer message I received.
    Dear Customer,
    Thank you for contacting us.
I am sorry that we'll not have Intel Mac driver support for this keyboard.
For Eject, you may press and hold the F12 key for 1 second to open/close the CD tray.

    Hello there, omsmac.
The following Knowledge Base article provides a great place to start with some good information that can apply to keyboard issues as well as trackpad:
Trackpad or Magic Trackpad is jumpy or erratic
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1449
Aside from the usage recommendations, this recommended step is very practical:
If none of the above resolve the issue, try to rule-out software not created by Apple as a cause. To do so, start in Safe Mode.
There are some good steps for testing the keyboard as well found here:
One or more keys on the keyboard do not respond
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1381
If the issue persists after attempting Safe Mode, then you may want to try an SMC (System Management Controller) reset. The steps on how to accomplish that are found here:
Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3964
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.

You cannot download the upgrade to Snow Leopard.
Upgrade Paths to Snow Leopard, Lion, and/or Mountain Lion
You can upgrade to Mountain Lion from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mountain Lion can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for $19.99. To access the App Store you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.6 or later installed.
    Upgrading to Snow Leopard
You must purchase Snow Leopard through the Apple Store: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store (U.S.). The price is $19.99 plus tax. You will be sent physical media by mail after placing your order.
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store. Access to the App Store enables you to download Mountain Lion if your computer meets the requirements.
         Snow Leopard General Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel processor
           2. 1GB of memory
           3. 5GB of available disk space
           4. DVD drive for installation
           5. Some features require a compatible Internet service provider;
               fees may apply.
           6. Some features require Apple’s MobileMe service; fees and
               terms apply.
    Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mountain Lion, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service - this includes international calling numbers. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
         Lion System Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
               or Xeon processor
           2. 2GB of memory
           3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
           4. 7GB of available space
           5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.
    Upgrading to Mountain Lion
To upgrade to Mountain Lion you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Purchase and download Mountain Lion from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Mountain Lion is $19.99 plus tax. The file is quite large, over 4 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
OS X Mountain Lion - System Requirements
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mountain Lion
             1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer)
             2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
             3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)
             4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer)
             5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)
             6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)
             7. Xserve (Early 2009)
         Are my applications compatible?
See App Compatibility Table - RoaringApps.
Am I eligible for the free upgrade?
See Apple - Free OS X Mountain Lion upgrade Program.
For a complete How-To introduction from Apple see Upgrade to OS X Mountain Lion.

  • Call upon even better support for Unicode

    Hello
Following some messages I have posted regarding problems I encountered while developing a non-English web application, I would like to call upon an even better support for Unicode. Before I describe my call, I want to say that I consider Berkeley DBXML a superb product. Superb. It lets us develop very clean and maintainable applications. Maintainability is, in my view, the keyword in good software development practices.
In this message I would like to remind you that the US-ASCII 8-bit set of characters only represents 0.4% of all characters in the world. It is also true to say that most of our software comes from efforts of American developers, for which I am of course very grateful.
But problems with non US-ASCII characters are very very time consuming to solve. To start with, our operating systems need to be configured especially for unicode, our servers too, our development tools too, our source code too and, finally, our data too. That's a lot of configuring, isn't it? Believe me, as a Flemish french-speaking, danish-speaking developer who develops currently a new application in Portuguese, I know what I am talking about.
Have you ever tried to write a Java class called Ação.java, that loads an xml instance called Ação.xml that contains something like <?xml version="1.0" charset="utf-8"?></ação variável="descrição"/>? It takes at least the double of time to have all this work right in a web application on a Linux server than it would take to write a Acao.java that loads Acao.xml containing <?xml version="1.0" charset="us-ascii"?></acao variavel="descricao"/> (which is clearly something we do not want in Portugal).
I have experienced a problem while using the dbxml shell to load documents that have utf-8 encoded names. See difficulties retrieving documents with non ascii characters in name The work around is not to use the dbxml shell, with which I am of course not very happy.
So, while trying not to be arrogant and while trying to express my very very great appreciation for this great product, I call upon even better support for Unicode. After all, when the rest of us, that use another 65279 characters in our software, will be able to use this great product without problems, will it not contribute to the success of Berkeley DBXML?
    Thank you
    Koen
Edited by: koenheene on 29/Out/2009 3:09

Hello John and thank you for replying,
You are completely correct that it is a shell problem. I investigated and found solutions for running dbxml in a Linux shell. On Windows, as one could expect, no solution so far.
Here is an overview of my investigation, which I hope will be useful for other developers which also presist writing code and xml in their language.
difficulties retrieving documents with non ascii characters in name
I was wondering though if it would not be possible to write the dbxml shell in such a way that it becomes independent from the encoding of the shell. Surely their must be, not? Rewrite dbxml in Java? Any candidates :-) ?
Thanks again for the very good work,
    Koen
