We are doing POS-R/3 Integration through XI , POS server generates a flat file for sales as attached, this flat file is to be posted as idoc msg type WPUUMS, which creates billing doc
Do we require any Java modules to conversion

Hi,
Like mentioned by moothry , the choice between suing an Adapter Module to do the content conversion and the File Adapter's content conversion depends on the File Strucutre.
If it is possible to do the content conversion on the File Adapter itself, then use the File Adapter's Content Conversion itself.

Hi Experts,
                     I am into POS XI POSDM integration . My queries are,
   1. Is there any specific forum in XI where I can get in touch with those, who have undertaken the following type of integtarion.
    2. My scenerio is File 2 XI to RFC adapter. I am getting an error in SXMB_MONI as " Root Cause: javax.xml.transform.TransformerException: com.sap.engine.lib.xml.parser.ParserException: XMLParser: No data allowed here: (hex) 4d, 20, 30(:main:, row:1, col:3) at com.sap.engine.lib.jaxp.TransformerImpl.transform(TransformerImpl.java:255)................".
I believe taht the file I am sending is not matching with the mapping . Pls comment, pls tell me if u need any further info.
You can see the word doc with settings , if u want, pls tell me if u r also experienced in POS - XI - POSDM integration inbound, 2 b more specific.

Error during dry testing in Messege Mapping is "Fatal Error: com.sap.engine.lib.xml.parser.ParserException: XMLParser: No data allowed here: (hex) 4d, 20, a(:main:, row:2, col:0)".
Showld I consider this as error in the load as its format is not matchin with the messege mapping SOurce Structure?

POS-Siebel Integration (External Orders Query)

I have to implement POS and siebel integration for querying and retrieving external orders from Siebel in POS using an out-of-box integration method @

After doing all the setup required at both ends, whenever i go to query external order in POS it shows me this message : "The system is currently offline. The orders cannot be retrieved for payment during offline."
Please advise how to proceed further.
Also for configuring DefaultConnectorTechnician.xml the mystoreID and pwd are POS admin username and password???

Hi,
Have exposed the web service from Siebel side and also the both Default and retail technician XML files in POS have been updated to proper webservice URI: "http://<Host>:<port>/eai_anon_enu/start.swe?SWEExtSource=SecureWebService&SWEExtCmd=Execute"
Still the error msg appears stating: The system is offline.
Do i need to bounce the Oracle Retail POS server before the changes take effect??
Or is there any more setup that i need to verify in siebel to make sure the webservice respond correctly???

As we are using Real time Integration with POS in FI,So i just need to know the details how should be correct the entries if any mistake happen at POS level For ex cashier at POS made a sell of 1000 INR (500 in Cash & rest through credit Card) but by mistake he has registered all the sell of 1000 INR through cash.
Currently the system is not real time ,data transfer happen at the end of the day ,through this procedure thay got the time to correct the entries in intermediate oracle server.but now we are making the real time integration without the the use of XI.
So i just need to know ,how the correction happens ,when the system is on line.
It will be nice if you can provide me any document relevant to that.
Any thing relevant to above issue is highly appreciated.

SAP BW 3.52 and POS DM: Architecture Best Practise

We are retail/wholesale company that are two different business units. Currently we are running SAP BW 3.0 that is integrated with SAP R/3 and APO for reporting purposes. We are now in the early stages of implementing SAP Retail along with SAP POS DM to support the Retail business. We have a question re the architecture and the best practices. We were told that POS DM is integral part of SAP BW 3.52 i.e. a function within BW application. We would like to run the retail instance of SAP BW on a separate box and separate the POS DM onto another box. The reason being, POS DM processes all the store POS transactions through either to IS-Retail or SAP BW. We believe the transaction processing that occurs in POS DM should be separated from SAP BW, in order maintain efficiencies. Can anyone share their perspective and experience on what the best practice would be? Also, is it possible to do what we would like to do i.e. POS DM and BW running on different boxes?

Information about POS DM should come within the next time as a Update of the Solution Manager.
Some Remarks :
The best way to get some information is to contact SAP-Sales The most of my customers run POS DM on the same Box as BW.
A typical process will look like this :
POS System is mapped via Converter (e.g. XI) to the BAPI of the PIPE (/posdw/bapi_postr_create). Also you could feed the PIPE via IDOCS or via direct input (Proxy).
You've got some internal tasks running for validation of the data (sequencing, duplicate...) and you can schedule other tasks to supply the R/3 with IDOCs and to write Data to the DeltaQueues where BW can take the Data.
You can plan everything time-based. Thats meaning as long you don't have a huge amount of data (e.g. >12.000.000 LineItems/day) you should get no big problems with the right hardware.
Also you're able to do "trickle feed", that's more or less an immediatley processing of the data (e.g. directly or every 2 hours)

POS Interface with no POSDM!! Possible?

My client is planning to implement standard POS interface in IS Retail. I have worked several times with POSDM in order to post the Sales, Financial and Inventory Data into SAP, but all used standard POSDM. The client does not have POSDM license and just wants to post the sales and financial data.
Can this be done with standard POS Interface by posting WPUBON01, WPUFIB01 Idocs straight in IS-R?

Can you please provide more information on the POS to POSDM that you have done so far. I have no knowledge in this integration. Any documentation or links that you can provide will be great.

You can use this integration scenario to transfer the transaction information from the SAP (GM) POS transaction log to the SAP POS Data Management (DM) system based on the settings you maintain in the Customizing in the POS Inbound Processing Engine (PIPE).
Prerequisites
You are using release SAP NetWeaver 7.0 BI Content Add-On 3 SP08 or higher.
You have made the settings in Customizing by choosing SAP NetWeaver Business Intelligence Settings for BI Content Trade Industries Retailing POS Data Warehouse Management POS Inbound Processing Integration with Other SAP Components SAP POS .
You can find the integration scenario GMTLog2POSDM_PC in the Integration Repository in the software component STORE CONNECTIVITY, in the namespace http://sap.com/xi/StoreConnectivity.
Process
The integration scenario comprises the following asynchronous communication steps between the SAP (GM) POS and the POS DM systems:
Send Transactions from POS Transaction Log
The SAP (GM) POS system sends the transaction information from the POS transaction log to the POS DM system.
Receive Transactions in POS DM System
The POS DM system receives the transaction information from the SAP (GM) POS transaction log.
POS DM is part of the BI Content. So you'll have to import BI Content 3.5.3 to get POS DM functionality. Core transactions are /POSDW/MON0 for the POS Workbench and /POSDW/IMG for customizing. You can use the standard POS Inbound IDOCs (WPUUMS, WPUTAB, WPUBON, WPUWBW, WPUFIB) or (and that's the recommended way) BAPI /POSDW/BAPI_POSTR_CREATE.
After you put the data into the PIPE (pos inbound processing engine) via BAPI (XI), there is nothing else like customizing to distribute these to either the infocubes or something else.So I will give you a basic idea of the steps needed to transfer the data into the cubes.
Go to TN /POSDW/IMG (/n/POSDW/IMG).
There you build your own customizing profil, potentially Z001.
Then you go to the "POS Transactions" and lateron onto "Type Group for POS Transactions". Copy any type you need from the standard profil of the sap.
The same thing you do with the "Category for POS Transactions". Take care of the entry "Incl./Excl. Task Grp", this is where you link your specific data to a taskgroup. There are tasks linked to any taskgroup, for instance the one you need to feed the cubes. ("Supply BW Immediately, Non-Aggre., w. Distribution")
Naturally you have to customize the taskgroup and the tasks as well as the transaction categories and lateron the connection between the tasks and the taskgroup in "Tasks for Taskgroup". (should be copy action too)
If you set up the "Type of Task" to "Immediate Processing", then the data will be processed into the deltasource in the moment there are reaching the pipe.
All you have to do then is to connect the deltasource to the cubes in TN RSA1.

Data can be copied to a locked version.

Hi,
We are using BCS for Consolidation. We have noticed that it is possible to copy data into a locked version, which poses serious data integrity issues.
Example: We use version 200 for actuals, and version S05 for Forecast. Actuals data from version 200 is copied to version S05 for Forecast.
In the event of a user typo, it is possible that data from S05 could be overwritten to version 200, thereby destroying all the consolidation data in the actuals version 200 for the selected periods.
Has anyone else faced this issue, or has suggestions for what to do.

1) One way to reduce the "damage due to typo or similar condition" is.....throw a confirmation
    window asking user to positively confirm the change.
2) Philosophically speaking......no matter how many precautions we take.....human error is
    always there.....
3) If you take a) reasonable precautions   b) regular backups....you will
    be able to recover with minimal damage.

I have a situation please suggest some transactional solution.

I have two databases one is entry database (DB1) Where entery is done, other database is reporting database (D2).
we are trying to transfer data using stored procedure from db1 to db2. the sp will be scheduled to run after every 20 to 30 sec.
in db1 we keep three cols in all tables transferedcol, updatedcol, activecol.
--activecol gets 1 if when record is entered first time and remain same while updation.
this col gets 2 if deleted( we do not do physical deletion we only mark 2 in activecol and updagtedcol)
--transferedcol gets 1 if not transfered to db2, if transfered to db2 then we put 0 in it.
if record gets updated then it gets 1 again so that we can transfer it again.
--updatedcol gets 0 for new entry of each record and 1 if updated after transfer of the record to db2 else if any one tries to updated it before transfer then it will be 0 for new record , after the transfer of that record if some one updates the record
then it gets 1 and remains 1 throught out the life . yes it gets 2 if record is deleted ( deletion is not physical , it is logical by setting 2 in activecol and updatedcol).
in db2 we have only required cols for reporting, but if required we can keep some cols like transfered ,active and updated.
this db2 has fk and table gets record from joins of many tables of db1 which also has fks
that is schema is not same.
Q1) i want to transfer only the records having transfered col marked as 1 and after transfering i want to make them 0 from the stored procedure which runs after every 20 30 sec.
please suggest some solution with isolation level.
note: on db1 i want that entery should not be blocked to much and at the same it want stored procedure to transfer the data from db1 to db2 so that people can see the report at the very time.

After enabling POSDM content in BI, link for *SAP POS* is missing (POS Data Warehouse Management -- POS Inbound Processing -- Integration with Other SAP Components ---SAP POS )

Hello Abhishek,
depending on the Release of BW Content in your BW system this customizing node might not be available. Please upgrade to the latest release of BW Content or the release provided in the Config Guide for Store Connectivity Content (or above).
If the problem still exists after that I'd recommend to raise an OSS.

Hi All,
Currently we have POS-Pinpad not integrated. POS is always in offline mode and we have to enter the approval code(which we get after swiping in the pinpad) in the POS call referral screen and finally we need to hit the Approved button to approve the current transaction.
Now apart from the approval code there is something called as a Reference Number which we need to enter in the same way like Approval Code. Meaning in the call referral screen we need to create a text box with Reference Number where we have to enter the value after getting it from the pinpad.
Now we need to print this new Reference Number in CreditSignatureSlip. Could you please tell me how i can do print this Reference Number for a single/multiple card transaction? We are in ORPOS 13.1.3

You'll need to update the respective bean and model to have Reference number captured from the screen.
Then you'll need to update receipt's bpt files to have your reference number printed.
Just follow the flow how approval code is moving forward and you will be through.

I am configured a process integration scenario for sending TLOG to POSDM. Can you pl advice how can I go about testing my config. At present I do not have any POS-GM system running so I was wondering that I will have to put my *.txn file in the "Source Directory" specified folder...
