Position Management in HCM

Can someone please share a link or documentation on how to manage positions, Position Management in HCM?

U can create position using PO13 or expert mode (PPOC_OLD will be the easiest way. If u use PO13 again u have to give relationship, but in PPOC_OLD system automatically create relationship also)
If u have two employee for a same position (let us say 2 hr executive), better u create two position 'hr executive'. The system will give you some number 50000001 and 500000002 for your positions. U can assign ur first employee to 50000001 and other to 02.
U can also assign two employee to same position (means the same position number). Let us say both r assigned to 50000001.
But in this situation each employee will be holding 50% (or 60% + 40%) i.e. total % will be 100.
Why we use this kind of assignment is, let us say in ur company daily working hour is 8. and one persone work halfday and other second half. In this situation we assing same position to two person.
Once an employee resign the company, the position will show as vacant. But iIf u give 100% to both employee and assign to single position, the system will not show the position as vacant, if an employee resign. Because system still shows the position is 100%. That is position is filled.

    You need to assign a posn mgmt procedure in IMG for ValArea001 and ValCls0003.
    you can  do this in FSCM > TRM > Txn Manager > Gen. Settings > Acctg > Settings for Position Management > ASSIGN POSITION MANAGEMENT PROCEDURE.

    Hi,
    I will expain in brief the postion management procedure.
    First you need to create a positon management procedure under settings for position management - Define position mgmt procedure.
    Before this you need to decide whether it is to be done based on key date or not.  If it is based on key date, then procedure has to be assigned under Keydate Valaution tree in settings for postion mgmt.
    Then you have to define the procedure where you assign the category of procedure and also the type of step based on your requirement like forex valuation, security valuation or amortization.  You also assign the procedure for it. Then if required to be done using key date then check that box.
    Then the procedure has to be assgined based on various factors like acct assign ref., val area and others.
    Then we have to assign update types for the procedure defined now.  This is just a brief explanation

    Hi,
    there is no SAP vocabulary for "refresh" PMP. Once you have fixed/posted any Cashflow you cannot simply change any criteria used for the PMP-Determination. In this case, you have to transfer the corresponding transaction/position via e.g. TPM15M (VC-Transfer) or TPM82 (Portfolio-Transfer).
    You shall not change any setting within the PMP-customizing once you have entered the 1st transaction of the corresponding PMP! This will lead to inconsistencies...

    1) Position ID ---> Field - PLANS ---> Table - PA0001
    2) Position Name ---> Filed - Stext --> Table - HRP1000
    3) Position Status (Occ,Unocc,Obsolete) * --check for the relationship Employee holds the position on a given date --- Relation ship between Object type "S" and Object Type "P" and the Relation ship is A 008 (Holder of the Position) in table HRP1001
    4) FTE ---???
    5) Staff ID --- it may be the employee personnel no ... you may get from table PA0001 --- field PERNR -- it should be the Key field.
    6) Staff Name --- Employees First and last name from table PA0002
    7)Staff FTE -
    8)Pay Scale Group --- from table PA0008
    9)Pay Scale Level --- from table Pa0008
    10)Position Reports To --- Relationship between Object type "S" to "S" in table HRP1001 and the realtionship is A002
    11) Organisational Unit --- when u look for the PERNR (Key filed in table PA0001) also look for the filed ORGEH

    > Check the Pernr in table PA0001 on a given date -
    IF True
    you will get his Position ID and Orgunit
    Select employees details from like name from PA0002.
    Select PSGroup and Level from PA0008 on the given date.

  • Change Position management porcedure for securities after postings exist

    Guys,
    We use different position management procedures for securities with local and foreign currency. After posting the currency changeover by using FWKB Corporate Action we would like to go on with changing the position mgmt procedure as well. Is it possible to do so? We tried to use TPM50 Change Position Mgmt Procedure however it says posting already exist and not allows to change.
    Please let me know if any workaround could be used.

    Hello,
    Normally you can use transaction TPM50 to change the position
    management procedure, but if already POSTED business transaction
    exist it is not longer possible. You can reverse all postings for the position.
    Another posibility would be a valuation class transfer (TPM15). This seems
    the only way to change PMP if there are posted BTs.

  • Error: Organizational Assignment created via Orgnizational Management in HCM form

    Hi All,
    I am getting below error while moving an EE to certain position via HCM form.
    I have cheked and found that if an org unit is to be assigned to another cost center in Organizational management from a certain date, this action generates a new record in infotype 0001 for integrated persons from the date of assignment to the new cost center and if we perform any action which would be deleting the new record (created from OM) in IT0001 then this error would populate.
    Here is the the same case a new Cost Centre has been assigned with the orgunit and a new record is creaed in IT0001 from the OM but when I am performing the same action via PA40 then I not getting any error, the error is occuring from the form only.
    Can you please help me to resove this error and provide me the reason why it is not occring when I am performing the same action from PA40.

    Hi Mayank,
    I think you will be triggering Job Salary Form for the action you have mentioned. Please check in the Tcode HRASR_DT for the form name as I have show below from my development system. In Back-End services - SAP_PA - Infotypes and Operations and for Infotype 0001 check what is the operation that you have maintained.. It should be "change" to avoid the error message.
    For PA40 action you would have configured the same as "change" thats why you are not getting error message in PA40.

  • "New position" in standard HCM Transfer Process is empty

    Hi Experts,
    In the HCM standard  transfer process the 'Previous manager' selects an employee.Then he selects transfer process ,then he fills 'New Manager' & 'Transfer Reason' input field in the adode form.Finally he sends the adobe form to 'New Manager'.
    The 'New manager' opens the adobe form & he should select a value for 'New Position' drop down field.
    In our case the drop down field is empty.How to insert value in the drop down field ?

  • What are the Steps to Edit a Form Record Stored in Case Management? (HCM Processing DesignTime)

    Workflow completed.  Design Time stores records to Case Management.
    Can someone please tell me steps to access the record and change a field value?
    I also want to attach another attachment to the process to be stored with the original attachments.
    So far I am poking around in SCASE transaction.
    I am able to search for processes and steps but when I click a line I have no auth to change the record.
    BASIS helped me and checked - doesn't look like I'm missing auth, but maybe usung SCASE wrong?
    Still working...

    However I can't edit the record when I get down to it.  The Change (pencil button) is grayed out.
    Basis is checking my permissions again.

    I have been asked to find out whether it is possible to implement Training and Event Management without implementing HCM. We currently have R/3 Enterprise 470 (ext. set 110) and I think it may be possible to install the Learning Solution Add-on to give us Training and Event Management functionality even though we do not have HCM implemented. Am I wrong?

    I am on a new project where they need to do HR Data Migration from PeopleSoft (Legacy System) into SAP ECC. The Client wants me to implement SAP BW (New Implementation) doing the following Functional Areas for SAP HCM:
    1. Personnel Administration
    2. Learning Solution Online
    3. Occupational Health & Safety
    4. Leave
    5. Time
    6. Allowances
    7. Position Management
    8. Organizational Structures
    9. Delegations
    10. Competencies
    11. Payroll
    12. CATS
    13. Business Intelligence
    This is the scope of the project.
    They were using just over 600 reports from the Legacy System.
    Please let me know how long does it take developing an average of 25 Reports in each of the above mentioned areas (Area-wise) including ETL (Backend) Design in SAP BW? We are also looking at using Business Object Reporting Tools moving forwards.
    What is the best order of implementation of above Functional Areas?
    I am to start off with a SAP BW Solution Blueprint with As-Is, To-Be (Solution and Approach). Please let me know if there are better ideas.

    You first need to understand the requirement of the business first because if there are 600 reports in legacy system you no need to presume that you need to develop 600 coz of the multidimensional report of BI you can club so many requirements in to one report. And you have to decide, up to what extent the Business content reports would be helpful. If the BC report meets the requirement it is as simple as that to activate and use it. But if the BC report wont meet the business requirement then you need to estimate the efforts to develop. Here you need to keep in mind that the standard extractors would be fine or need to enhance or need to go for Generic extraction. And also the HCM reports are big tricky and lot of data issues would rise. By considering all this you need to plan the days of work to complete all the reports.
