Position name in two language

Dear All,
As per my client requirement, position text (Infotype 1000) should be save in a two language, English and Russian with a same validity ,i tried to copy infotype 1000 for the position,and rename object in Russian language,but in this case other record (English Language) is being deleted,i know it can be done through changing time constraint for IT1000,but is it right approach?or is there any way by this we can save position name in two language with same validity.

hello,
in PP01 select you position, and Infotype 1000 Object, click the button Edit, change the language field, and save it... this will create a new translation .
to make sure, display again the Infotype object, Goto Display translation

Positions mass move with same position name?

Hi All,
1) Is there any direct way to change Organization of a Position?
We tried performing Mass move between the organizations with the same source and target position names. But we faced the issue - 'The target position already exists outside the target organization' since the same position cannot exist in 2 organizations.
2) We tried a changing the position name to a temporary name and then performed mass move between the orgs from the temporary position to original position. This worked to some extent - The position and the assignments having this position got updated correctly, but the position hierarchy still shows up the Temporary position name.
Is there any solution for our issue 1? or any approach for issue 2?
Application version is 12.1.2.

In Oracle HRMS Positions have very strict criteria.
1. They have to be unique within a BG. Hence you cannot have two positions with same name inside one BG even if they are in different Organizations.
2. You cannot change the job or Organization of a position once created.
and so on..
what you are trying to do here violates the basic definition of position in HRMS. You will not be able to change the organization of a position and treat it as the same old position. This is functionally not correct.
In such cases, the best approach is to have a segment for the position KFF holding the short name for the organization it belongs to. Thus whenever you want to change the organization of the position, what you actually do is create a new position, since one of the segment values changes in the position definition.
Coming to the approaches you have tried:
1. Mass move cannot circumvent the basic tenet of HRMS position to allow you create new position with same name but different organization. Hence this approach will not help at all.
2. I am not sure how this happens. But as discussed above changing organization of a position will definitely cause issues somewhere or the other.

Contract in two languages and two columns parallel on each page?

I'm writing a long contract in two languages and want two columns parallel on each page. The column should break every time to the next page and not to the top of the same page. anybody with some helpful advises please?

I tried. It seems I am dummy with pages.
First of all my pages speaks German and even I m sure my English is pretty stable the idioms seem to be different in the menus & bars.
So let my try to ask and hope I m not stressing your patience.
"Make sure both text boxes are Floating ...." what means Floating? How does that look like, what do I do?
You mean click on them so both boxes are empty yet visible?
And there is no "CAPTURE PAGES" in my advanced menu, pls have a look. Can you indicate where it sits in English?
And whatever I tried in that advanced menu bar, nothing asked me to "assign a name" to something.
Can we sort that and go from there?

Finder menu in two languages

Hi, since updating to OSX10.10, my Finder menu has been displaying two languages - not really a problem, more a query as to why, and how to resolve it.
Im running a mid 2010 27' iMac with the SSD and 1TB option and all latest software (OS X 10.10.1).
My system language is set to English, with these priorities - 3 languages - 1st English, 2nd Spanish, 3rd Brazilian Portuguese, and an ISO Spanish keyboard (I live in Spain)
I have reset language preferences a few times, and all else seems to be OK and as it should, except the finder menu (picture below).
Anyone have any ideas as to how to get it back into English?

Two languages on one site

i'd like to create a home page that allows the visitor to choose between two languages- how do i do that?

If yes, just use a blank page in IWeb, put a title stick two or more flags on that page and use inspector to link your respective flags to a different page (blog, pictures, blank... you name it).
For my brother website I have all my pages duplicated (one in French and the exact one but in English), so it's easier for me not to forget one page to be translated.
To duplicate a page just right click on the page (the one that show on the "tree" on the left and choose duplicate; double click on the duplicate page to change the name.
I even went to the "trouble" to put a flag on the top right corner of all my pages so you can navigate from French to English very easily. Look here for an example: http://www.auxbonsplants.fr/Address.html

Can you make a PDF that can display two languages?

Hi, I have a need to display a PDF in two languages (I work in a hospital clinic). I want the computer to be able to display Spanish to the patient, and when the form is completed, turn the form back into English for printing so the output is readable by clerks (this form goes to people who aren't Spanish speaking for processing). I can provide both the Spanish and English versions of the form. Can this be done in real practice?

Garcon's situation/request may be one where I'll be soon (I work for a medical center in a university setting), so this could be a useful thread. This Layers feature is new to me and sounds promising. However, my initial experience with implementing it has raised several usability issues (which may be due to my Acrobat version and my inexperience with this feature).
First, you apparently can't import a foreign language (e.g., Esperanto) pdf as a layer into an English pdf and then set it so that you can only see Esperanto -- you can only toggle the Esperanto layer on or off with the English always on display. My work-around was to create a blank pdf and then import the English and Esperanto pdf file into layers. Then there's no way to set it with the default Acrobat controls so that if a user opens the file using Reader that only one of the layers is active (I don't know if it's possible with JavaScript).
Second, if it's a multi-page document you will have to import each page separately for each language (some forms we translate into 7 different languages). That'll become tedious and also increases the risk for mistakes. Best approach here probably will be separate LanguageX/English files instead of one monster LanguageA/LanguageB/etc./English file.
Finally, form fields can't be assigned/displayed by layer (using default Properties windows), nor will they import into a layer if your source pdf has form fields. Unless by some miracle the form fields all line up in the same spot (unlikely as one language we occassionlly translate into is Arabic), creating and positioning all the form fields may get tedious real quick. The sample form I was working with has almost 200 potential form fields across 3 pages.
Any usability tips or links to using layers in forms will be appreciated.

How to create reports servers with the same name in two nodes in Reports

We are migrating Oracle Application Server 10g (9.0.4) to a better hardware infrastructure with high availability. We want to provide 2 new Oracle Application Server 10g (9.0.4) in High availability and we want to avoid modify the existing forms and reports code, but the code is looking for a specific reports server name when calling reports, but I couldn't create the same reports server name in the both oas machines, I could create the reports server in only one node. I want to create a reports server with the same name in both nodes but it is not possible. I know that there is a procedure to do that in 10.1,2 (Note 437228.1, How to Create Two Reports Servers With the Same Name in the Same Subnet) but I couldn't find the equivalent procedure in 9.0.4.
Anybody kwows how to create a reports server with the same name in two nodes using 10g (9.0.4)

I applied the patch 4092150 on my oas 9.0.4.2 and I modified my rwnetwork.conf file changing the port to 14022 by following the note "How to Create Two Reports Servers With the Same Name in the Same Subnet? [ID 437228.1]" but I am facing the same error rep-56040 "server already exists in the network".
When I run osfind command I get the following information (My reports server is senarep and I want to create it on SNMMBOGOAS10):

On each of the English pages add a Russian flag and link that flag to the Russian equivalent page with the Inspector/Link/Hyperlind pane.
On each of the Russian pages add a US or British flag and link that flag to the equivalent English page.

Column header in two language not shown correctly

Hi Gurus,
I have a requirement to create a template with column headers in two language(english-arabic). i created the template in xmlpublisher desktop and get the translation from google translate and paste it under the english word. The correct translation is shown when i pasted it but in the preview special characters are seen instead of the translation. Please help me solve this. examples are below:

This issue was solved....
I just use printscreen and mspaint then treat each translation as picture, cut each translation and pasted it on my original template.

Hi Ellery,
As Philipp said, there is no need for populating the field using PL/SQL. You would just need to go to the Paper Layout in the Reports Editor, click on "Text" in the Drawing toolbar, drag it to the appropriate place in your layout to create the field, and write what you want in that field. Below that, you can create the field(s) which will display the actual totals. I'm assuming that creating the totals field is not a problem.

Using IWeb to publish a site in two languages

I have used IWeb successfully to create my new website and am using mobileme as the domain provider. I want to produce this website in two languages, ideally having a 'button' to press where you can choose your language option if the site appears in a language you cannot read (ie it is published firstly in indonesian language but there are people who want to access it in english).
Does anyone have nay experience / ideas about this?

You want to update the data from what to what? Where is the new data coming from?
If you are trying to put the same data in two different tables, that strongly implies that you have a normalization problem that needs to be addressed.
Why do you want a single query rather than updating each table in turn? Can you join the two target tables to produce a key-preserved view?
