Position of 'call contact' and 'contact info' buttons

Hi all,
I've been wondering for a while why the two contacts buttons ('Call' and 'Contact info') appear at the top on the SMS screen... When there's been a long thread of messages it would be nice if these were at the bottom of the thread, as I'm not keen on having to scroll back up to call the contact...
Is there a way of changing the position of these so they appear at the end of the thread instead? If not, is there a way for users to offer suggestions to Apple?

You can scroll right back up to the top in one press by touching the very top of the screen (above the person's name).

It's done in iTunes. Plug the phone in via the USB cable and select the iPhone on the sidebar of iTunes. Select the Info tab on the top and you have the sync options.

You can make one or more calendars of one iphone sharable and the other user will be able to have those sharable calanders synced. Unfortunately, you can't do that with contacts. But you could go to the computer account used by you or your husband, perform a backup of the contacts (see the file menu), copy the file to the other account used to sync the other iphone, and restore. It's a manual process that has to be performed periodically, but doable.
The other method is for each of you to use the same iCloud ID and have both iphones synced to be identical. But I don't recommend that otherwise you'll each get the same text messages and who knows what else.

TS4062 we have 2 different iphones. When we are synching, the contacts and ical interfere and we end up by having all our contacts and ical info mixed together.

Well are you syncing them with the same acount? Are you syncing them to the same source? If you are both syncing the iCal on the same computer then you are going to end up sharing all the entries. You need two differnt AppleId's and user ID on the comuter you are syncing to if you want everything to stay seperate.

Attaching Existing Contact and Account Info in Lead

Hi,
While creating a new Lead, I'm attaching an existing Contact and Existing Account. But other than the name fileds, none of the other fileds like address, phone numbers are not populated.
How can I make the fields prefilled with the info when I select an existing contact and account?

I am assuing that the Contact and Account is known when the lead is created. So in such cases I soultion is as follows.
We make the Account and Contact fields Read Only on the Lead Page. I request (force) the user to navigate to the Contact and create the Lead under Contact. Then I use JoinFieldValue to default various fields
On Lead we use
For "First Name" Default value as JoinFieldValue('<Contact>',[<ContactId>],'<ContactFirstName>')
For "Last Name" Default value as JoinFieldValue('<Contact>',[<ContactId>],'<ContactLastName>')
For "Cellular Phone #" Default value as JoinFieldValue('<Contact>',[<ContactId>],'<CellularPhone>')
and so on
In "Account Id" Default value as JoinFieldValue('<Contact>',[<ContactId>],'<AccountId>')
In "Company" Default value as JoinFieldValue('<Contact>',[<ContactId>],'<AccountName>')
In "Annual Revenues" Default value as JoinFieldValue('<Account>',(JoinFieldValue('<Contact>',[<ContactId>],'<AccountId>')),'<AnnualRevenues>')
Address fields I have not tried and am not sure.
In case you do not wish to make the Account and Contact fields read only you will have to write workflows to monitor for change in ContactId & AccountId and then Update Values (maybe with a wait)

I have a restriction passcode that I have no idea what the passcode could be. I know that I need to reset the phone to factory settings but how do go about doing this without losing all of my contacts and other info, etc? (mainly contacts)

     At some point, I don't even remember doing this it must have been so long ago, I set a restrictions passcode on my phone. This has become a problem now because I have so many apps that I do not ever use that take up so much space I can no longer take pictures or put more music on the device. I have read that I need to restore to factory settings but that once I do that I cannot restore to a backup because restrictions passcodes are saved in backups. Is there any way for me to restore my phone to factory settings and then get all of my contacts and perhaps as much other data back as I can? I have tried every passcode I can think of for the restrictions passcode (24 times! to the point that ever time I try and fail I cannot try again for an hour. To say the least, this is quite frustrating as is limits what i can do with my phone on a daily basis, whether it be music or taking pictures and videos etc. Can someone please help me solve this problem without losing minimal data? I have already backed the phone up to my computer as well as iCloud. Even the woman at the apple store told me I had to restore it to factory but was too busy to get further into it and I didn't have a genius bar appointment. If all else fails I can make an appointment and go in there. I just thought I may as well ask on here first to see if there was a way I could do it myself. You can't. Restoring new means everything is erased. If you have a backup made before creating a restriction code, then you can restore that backup, but none later.
Placing your device into recovery (DFU-Device Firmware Upgrade) mode:
Follow these steps to place your iOS device into recovery mode. If your iOS device is already in recovery mode, you can proceed immediately to step 6.
   1. Disconnect the USB cable from the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, but leave the
       other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
   2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds
       until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
              * If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the
                Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off,
                release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the
       device. The device should turn on. Note: If you see the battery charge warning,
       let the device charge for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has some
       charge, and then start with step 2 again.
4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen.
       When this screen appears you can release the Home button:

My iPhone 4S had an update for general and I hit it and the screen had a line that filled up and then the phone shut off , apron restarting it shows you to connect to iTunes and when I did it told me to reset my phone which will erase all my photos and contact data . Is there any thing I can do at this point to back out of the upload or finish it without losing info?Keep in mind that at this point my phone will not turn on it only comes on and shows and tells me to plug into iTunes . There are many ways to back up photos and contacts on an iPhone:
Photos - copy them to your computer with a USB cable; the phone will appear in Windows or Mac as a digital camera.
Photos - Enable Photo Stream, which saves them to iCloud and syncs to your computers(s)
Contacts - set to sync to any contact app on your computer (e.g., Outlook, Address Book)
Contacts - Enable sync to iCloud. This is real time and will always be up to date
Everything on the phone (including contacts and photos) - Back up to iTunes on your computer
Everything on the phone - Back up to iCloud
All of these are described in the manual.
If you did not do ANY of these then the contents are already lost.

How to get contacts and calendar info from my old palm files

I used to use a Palm Tungsten T3. I no longer have it but until recently I still used the Palm Desktop. My computer "died" and I was able to copy all the Palm files of of it but now I have no idea how to get the contact and calendar(less important than contacts) info in some form I can use. I do not currently have any Palm software installed on my computer. I have Microsoft Windows XP on my computer now and use Outlook or Outlook Express. Does anyone have any advice for me. I'm having the same problem. Desktop 4.1.4 on old PC. New PC with Win 7. Loaded 6.2 and when I went to Import 6.2 is looking for .aba files. Old PC has all .dat files. How do I import or transfer addresses and other contact info to new PC?? Thanks.

Transfering contacts and calendar info from iPhone to PC

I inadvertently deleted my contacts and calendar from my Outlook. The info is still on my iPhone. Is there a way to transfer that info from my iPhone to Outlook. For some reason, it did not work when I synced the two.

Create at least one contact and calendar entry in Outlook (make something up). Make sure that Contacts and Calendars are checked to sync (on the Info tab in iTunes with the iPhone connected). You should see a prompt to merge or replace data - choose MERGE. That will transfer your contacts from the phone to Outlook. If that doesn't work, reset your sync history (iTunes > Edit menu > Devices tab) then try syncing again.

Wish list: search of calendar & contacts, and scrolling info in itunes

There are two things that really bug me with my first generation iPod Touch, and I'm hoping someone can tell me if Apple has addressed either of these issues or plans to address them.
1. I often have a need to search for some text in the Calendar and Contacts application. I have an iMac and use this feature all the time, searching for the date of a particular event or something in the Notes field (eg., "cellist") of a Contact. Why isn't this important feature available with the Touch?
2. Many of the pieces I have in iTunes begin with the same name (eg., "Mendelssohn: String Quartet No..."), and because the title doesn't scroll on the Touch, I often can't tell which piece I'm hearing (eg., is it Quartet No. 1 or 12?), or if that much is displayed, then definitely what movement of the piece it is. My old ipod has this information scroll so that I can see the whole title (other fields, like the Artist field, scroll too). For some reason this feature went away with the Touch, and I really miss it and often need it.
Do you know if this is fixed with the 2nd generation of the Touch, or if Apple plans to address it?

How do I get my contacts and calender info from iphone 4 to ipad2 ?

I have just bought an iPad 2 and want to somehow sync it with my iPhone 4 so that it gets all the calender and contact data stored on my iPhone. Help please.

Contacts and contact pictures

I have a Blackberry Curve 8530 series through Sprint. Fairly often, I will assign a picture to a contact and it will stay there a few days, then all of a sudden that contact no longer has a photo assigned to them. When it happens, one time it was every contact that had a picture, but all the other times it would be just one particular contact. It is never a Facebook issue or anything either because 2 of the contacts it happens with don't even have any Facebook or any other account linked to my phone..
Also, recently phone reset a few of my contacts all together. It both deleted their pictures, and it reset their numbers. For example. a friend of mine got his number changed nearly 3 months ago. I deleted his old number out of my phone and replaced it with his new number. All of a sudden out of nowhere 2 days ago, I was calling him and it kept going to another person. Finally I looked at his contact profile and realized that his new number was no longer there, and instead his old number was there... I had just viewed his contact profile 2 days before this incident and his new number was there, because i read it off to another friend..

Isn't there ANYONE that can provide advice on this topic????????????

Primary contact and contact field in activity

Hi all,
I am trying to create few contacts under an account and set one contact as primary contact.
Then i am trying to craete an activity for that account.In that Activity there are two fields "Contact" and "Primary Contact".But when I try to pick up a contact and save the Activity record I see that the primary contact is not updated properly.(which means the primary contact is different from the one I selected in the account detail page).
I also found that if the contact's primary account is not the account to which i am adding the activity then the contact name is not coming in the drop down to select for an activity.(in the "contact" and "primary contact" look up field of activity)
Is there some reason for this??or am trying to overlook something..

I tried the same thing, creating 2 Contacts under Account then making one primary, then created the activity and select the contact under Contact Look up and it successfully updated the primary contact field.
There seems to be a problem with your pod, Have you tried raising an SR with oracle regarding this?

Report on Account - Contact and Contact Team

We have a requirement to build a report on accounts with their contacts and the contact team for those contacts all in one report. The user should be able to filter the account on type or name.
I can't find a correct subject area for this. Contact Team history does not hold the account information. I am looking into combined analysis but have not found the combination that works yet.
Has anyone build a report like this before?
