Position of component buttons off artboard

Does Flash Catalyst support positioning of component buttons off the artboard? I have an image that I would like to scroll with a vertical scroller and then embed external url click links. The page that I'm working on is here in the portfolio section:

The image is scrolling but the buttons are locked in one position. Any help on making the buttons scroll with the image would be appreciated.

Can you give us some additional info on how you've structured your Catalyst project? The scrolling area is a Data List, I assume. If you double-click to edit the list and then double-click again to edit the Repeated Item, what do you see? If you place both an image and your row of buttons inside here, then each image and its corresponding buttons should scroll in lockstep together.
Or do you only want one set of buttons total, not one per image? If so, I'm confused about the behavior you're looking for -- if the buttons are not associated with any one specific image, which image would they sit on top of / next to?

I see that this was an issue in Reader X and update 10.1.3 resolved it. What was the fix?

The scrollbar appears and works but unfortunately the dialog size is still too big therefore the print button ends up being hidden by the windows taskbar. Could you please make sure that the print dialog size is calculated against the work area (desktop size minus the taskbar, there's a win32 API to get that) rather than the whole desktop to fix the issue?
That would also fix another issue: when the taskbar is sized higher than usual whatever the resolution you have it could still end up covering the print buttons but if you calculate against the work area rather than the desktop area that issue would be fixed as well.
Please don't leave it unfixed because even if the requirements say 1024x768 if you have higher DPI settings or have a taskbar with a non-default size the print button could easily become unreacheable.

The Document doesn't know which textPane it belongs to. (It could even be shared by mulitple textPanes).
You get the caret position of a any text component by using:
textComponent.getCaretPosition();

Masking off-artboard artwork during export/save

I've created an image that has some bleeds and needs to be saved as a JPEG for web display. If I just export it (or save for web and devices), the off-artboard stuff shows up in the saved image (which, of course, is bigger than the artboard). I've created a mask layer that masks the visibility of the excess artwork within AI and the saved file, but the off-artboard area occupied by the masked artwork is still there in the saved image. How can I non-destructively hide this stuff during saves, saving just the artboard? Thanks.

Check the Clip to Artboard in the Image Size tab of the Save for Web dialog.

As far as the final exam loading into another .swf, that's
true. There's one "main" .swf that is the basic navigational shell
for the course (the top/bottom of the course). Then all the "pages"
of the course load into the big main window of the navigational
shell...

You don't really delete app that way, that way to stop backup for that app in icloud.
You need to delete it from your home screen and then while it still will look like download from icloud - app will start fresh.
However if app uses any account sign in the stuff that is attached to sign in will come back, so if you do not want to you need to use
fresh account as well.

Awesome question. Unfortunately there isn't a way to reassign the buttons. There may be a 3rd party application for the camera that would have a different option.

Flash Component Button click not working

I've gone back to an old project to change some logos around,
and my flash component buttons no longer work. They appear on
stage, but the click event is not happening. I authored on XP, now
on Vista. Director 10.1. Any idea what is happening?

If you are adding those buttons now, check for each button
the Flash
component tab in the property inspector and make sure the
eventPassMode
(lowest option) is set to #passAllways.

My Nano turned off - now it wont turn on or charge (hold button off)

My nano will not turn on - it briefly turned on, then switched off immediately. I thought it was fully charged, but when I tried to charge it, nothing happened - it did not even register on the computer. I fear it is fully dead - how do I get it fixed...and no, the hold button is not on!

You may need to allow the nano to remain connected to the computer or a wall adapter to charge for awhile. Take a look at the links below and see if they help. They mention things you state aren't the problem (such as checking the hold switch)but there are other things that may be the issue.

Change the position of toolbar buttons in RoboHelp 9 (WebHelp)

Hi,
I have been trying to create a custom skin for my webhelp output. I am able to specify the toolbar background image. However, the text in the image is being hidden by the toolbar buttons (Contents, Index, Serach, etc buttons). Is there any way to alter the position of the toolbar buttons (for example, lowering these buttons) so that the text in the image is displayed clearly?
I would be glad to know of any work-around to this problem.

As for how to change those button images, you do that using another application that manipulates images. SnagIt, PhotoShop, Windows Paint, GIMP, Paint Shop Pro, Etc.

Artwork off artboard disappears

My artwork disappears if it's not on an artboard; how can I change this so graphics off to the side are still visible even if they're not on an artboard?

Maybe you have bought the Artboard Only version.
Or maybe it is time for the list.
The following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file, and when it is not caused by issues with opening a file from external media. You may have tried/done some of them already; 1) and 2) are the easy ones for temporary strangenesses, and 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences); 5) is a list in itself, and 6) is the last resort.
If possible/applicable, you should save current artwork first, of course.
1) Close down Illy and open again;
2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to at least 5 times);
3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible), for CS3 - CC you may find the folder here:

5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);

6) Uninstall (ticking the box to delete the preferences), run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.

Position of Submit Button - Report Portlet

Hello erveryone!
I have used the search, but apparently there is no solution for my problem.
I have published a report as portlet.
Under "Additional user parametres" (i use the german version, there it is "Zusaetzliche Benutzerparameter") i give "paramform=yes".
When i open the page the is the report parameter form, but the submit button and the reset button are on top.
I want the buttons to be under my paramform.
Where i can change this option/position??

With the reports it is not possible. If you want to achieve something like this you should make of dynamic pages to develop the output and the buttons.

Turn buttons off on the playbar ?

I'm using Captivate 4, I dont often use the playbar as I'm not keen on the lack of functionality.
The customer wants the playbar but wants the forward button to be inactive on some screens. I know i can turn the playbar on/off but thats not an ideal solution.
Is there anyway to disable the 'forward' button on the playbar on a certain screen.
E.g you enter a slide and you have an action to say cp_Playbar_forward =0 and then on another slide turn it back on ?

I'm wondering if you might not be able to "fake it" sort of.
I'm thinking that if you configured the next slide so that on Exit it jumped to the previous slide, it would effectively kill the forward functionality. Then you could have a button on the slide that the user would click that would skip over the next slide to the slide after that.

How to get absolute screen position for component in borderlayout?

I am trying to get the screen location for a point in a component in a panel. The panel has a borderlayout(). The component is currently in the CENTER position of the layout. When I use the getBounds() method for this component I can get the <x,y> coordinates relative to the client area of the panel. But that does not include the frame. I
