Position of title on a slide

I am new to Macs. I am making a slide show and want the first slide to have a title on it. I have managed to get a title on, but it is smack in the middle of the slide. I want to be able to move it, and have been unsuccessful at finding a solution to that. I am in the Ken Burns theme, and have read that you can move it, but nowhere have I found the info that tells me what to do.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. What you want to do is not an option. The title slide has the title in the middle and is the title of the slideshow itself. The other title option in the Setting pane put the title/file name for each slide in the lower left hand corner.
If you want to only have the first slide to have a title use the Photos->Batch Change->Title to Empty menu option to remove the titles from all of the slides in the slideshow. Then manually add the title you want to have on the first slide. That may give you what you want. Other than that you'll need to use another slideshow application OR use a 3rd party editor to but the title text directly on the photo wherever you want.

  • Changing position of titles

Hey guys...I don't have iLife 08, yet...geez, I barely used the last version.
I'm doing a quick "slide show" in imovie HD for a friend....and can't seem to figure out how to change the placement of the TITLE.
It shows up in the middle of the clip, I want to move it to the BOTTOM of the clip...can anyone advise on this?
    Thanks

Hopefully one of the "Top Users" can address this better than I. iMovie Help states that, if available, you "can position the title style's origination point by clicking the preview monitor" and "if the pointer(?) changes to a crosshair you can click a place in the preview monitor where you want the title to begin". I don't think the selection of iMovie HD's title styles include that capability (perhaps someone can recommend a "plug-in" with such).
One thing that might help position your subtitle lower is by checking the "QT Margins" box, which will lower the text to the bottom of the screen. Only, it may get cut off if viewing on a TV screen. Also, you can position the text left or right of center by typing a "." to the far left (to get the text to line up on the right) or to the far right (text will be on left) of the text in the text viewer. Good luck.

  • Magic Chart affects the title of a slide

In Keynote, I have a presentation where I've inserted an interactive bar chart on to a slide. I've used the Magic Chart animation to the chart and, whilst it works well, it's affecting part of the Title of that slide.
Each of my titles has a border set below the text, which disappears when the Magic Chart animation is played. It appears only once the animation is finished. Why does it do this and how can I prevent this from happening?
    Many thanks

Each of my titles has a border set below the text
Do you mean something like this?
If so, move the text box away from the graph

  • Is it possible to adjust a servo's position thru RS232 using a slider (multiple servos simultaneously)?

    Hi everyone,
I need to control 4 servos using RS232 and a controller board (COM1 only).  One of the first things to do is to position each servo manually with a slider control.  Therefore I have 4 slider controls to position each servo.  I would like to move from slider1 to slider2, 3 and 4 at any time without causing any communication issues (COM1) by openning and closing this port as many times as required.
One way could be to set focus at each slider to allow me to change the position when mouse is over the slider control, then quit and close the port when mouse is away from this control.  Then repeat the same process for the rest of the servos.  Is this approach feasible?  I am not familiar with events and I will really appreacite any guidelines, ideas or sample code.  I am using LV 7.1.  Thanks,
    Frank
PS. I have attached a simple vi that shows some aspects of this idea.

    Here's what I mean...
However, it only sends one command at a time. You didn't say if your servo controller requires all 4 commands at once. If so, then you can remove the case structures and concatenate all 4 slider values into one string.

  • Building a Slide Show with Professional looking titles for each slide.

The only way I have figures out to product a slide show with titles is too put the title on in Photoshop and this is very time consuming. With all the different ways to make slides shows with Studio Pro, Imovie, Iphoto, etc. is there an efficient way to place titles on each slide.

    You might consider:
    PhotoToMovie
    FotoMagico
    or something similar.
BTW, I'm in Spokaloo as well.

  • How do I add a different title to each slide in a LR3 slideshow?

This question has been asked, but for some reason I cannot access it.  Thanks!

    John,
You add a distinct title and/or caption for each photo in the metadata panel and then reference these metadata fields in the slide show with a text field.

  • Document title on each slide

    Hi All,
As a newby in Keynote, I'm looking for hours on the web and in the doc how to populate on each slide a text which will be the same through the all presentation such as a presentation title.
There a way through the slide master but you'll have to go on each and modify the text.
Is there another way as provided in powerpoint to a kind of footer?
If not is it possible to create a scripts to do so?
    Thanks in advance.

Thanks for your answer, but it's not what I'm looking for.
In fact each time I've to use my template, I've according to the presentation done to change a "title" which change each tile, as a king of running head trough the whole presentation. In ppt I can put a placeholder called footer. Trhough a filled I can fill that placeholder with the same sentence.
It seems that this functionality does not exist in Keynote, so I'm lloking for another way to do thaht it's the reason why I was thinking of a script.

  • Window size/position and title question

I can't work out how to control the position of my site
within it's window, or the size of the window. I've tried all the
settings in the Publish panel. I'm trying to get the flash stage
    (750 x 500) to occupy the centre of a slightly larger window (900 x
    600) which opens to that exact size.
I also can't work out how to set the window title to anything
    other than index.

I have the same problem....hopefully Apple will address it soon.

  • Position URL Title?

The previous version of GB put the URL title at the bottom of the player screen. Version 5.0.1 puts it in the middle of the screen which can obscure a portion of the screen image. Any ideas on how to move it?
A preference for the position of the link would be GREAT. Also a preference for opening the link in a new window would be GREAT. As it is now, when a link is clicked the listener exits the podcast to view the link. He should be able to open the link in a new window and continue listening.

He should be able to open the link in a new window and continue listening.
What about Command+Click? That works in other applications.

  • Mouse position gets reset randomly from slide to slide

    Hi,
I have a software demo that I'm working on (Captivate 5). From slide to slide, usually Captivate uses the start position of the mouse based on the end position of the mouse on the previous slide. But sometimes it seems to lose that position, and starts the mouse at the top left of the screen. Is there any way to change that starting position, or fix this little bug?
    Thanks,
    Joel

I'm having a similar problem.  I've found that my mouse position changes to top left on all slides immediately following a FMR slide.  I've tried to manually reposition the mouse origin by drag-and-drop and right-click/align to..., but neither work.
    I've installed the 12/10 patch.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks.

  • I'm having trouble producing a "DVD with titles" from 4 slide shows.

I have selected the slideshows and started the process to DVD in PSE. I found that PSE will only accept the slideshows as 1 group and will not let me add slideshows later (unsupported and/or codec missing). Some slides get turned through 90 deg when put into PSE and one photo is not accepted, even though it's in jpg format, which all the other photos are. Can't see why this should be.
Initially tried to combine slideshows with vidoe project (which the help guide says is possibel), but find whichever way I start (slideshow or video) the adding format is considered as uncompatible. Can't see why there is a problem.

Do you mean Premiere Elements? You can't make any kind of video DVD in PSE, only the horrid VCD format. PRE has its own forum, which is here:
    http://forums.adobe.com/community/premiere_elements
and you'll get better answers to PRE questions there. Good luck!

  • How to position sub-titles??

I'm running QuickTime 7.2 on Windows XP-Pro. I'm trying to subtitle a 1280 x 720 movie using the following QTtext file:
    {QTtext} {language:0} {timestamps:absolute} {timescale:30}
    {height:80} {width:1280}
    {textBox:640,0,720,1280}
    {font:Arial} {size:30} {plain} {anti-alias:on}
    [00:00:00.00]
    {justify:center}
    Listen - [{italic}dog barking{plain}]
    [00:00:05.11]
    Second caption
    [00:00:10.00]
My main problem is in positioning - no matter what I do, the subtitles appear at the top of the screen, even if I try manually moving the text track by changing the visual settings in the Movie Properties page. What do I need to do to perform positioning??
A second problem is with the line "Listen - [{italic}dog barking{plain}]"; everything up to the closing ] is italicized. How come?

I tried that, but it didn't seem to make any difference. When I changed the values, nothing happened to the text bar position. And when I went back to check, the values had returned to 0,0.
I've been using WebAim's tutorial to learn about this stuff (www.webaim.org/techniques/captions/quicktime), and their description of how to position the text track bears little relation to the version of QuickTime I'm using.

  • Title screens in slide shows

How do I make the titles bigger in the slideshow? Can I set it up so that the titles appear on top of the photo? I only see them come up in the upper left corner very small.

Using Photoshop (or Photoshop Elements) as Your Editor of Choice in iPhoto. (Works the same for GrapicConverter or other editors)
1 - select Photoshop as your editor of choice in iPhoto's General Preference Section's under the "Edit photo:" menu.
2 - double click on the thumbnail in iPhoto to open it in Photoshop. When you're finished editing click on the Save button. If you immediately get the JPEG Options window make your selection (Baseline standard seems to be the most compatible jpeg format) and click on the OK button. Your done.
3 - however, if you get the navigation window that indicates that PS wants to save it as a PS formatted file. You'll need to either select JPEG from the menu and save (top image) or click on the desktop in the Navigation window (bottom image) and save it to the desktop for importing as a new photo.
This method will let iPhoto know that the photo has been editied and will update the thumbnail file to reflect the edit..
NOTE: With Photoshop Elements 6 the Saving File preferences should be configured: "On First Save: Save Over Current File". Also I suggest the Maximize PSD File Compatabilty be set to Always.
If you want to use both iPhoto's editing mode and PS without having to go back and forth to the Preference pane, once you've selected PS as your editor of choice, reset the Preferences back to "Open in main window". That will let you either edit in iPhoto (double click on the thumbnail) or in PS (Control-click on the thumbnail and seledt "Edit in external editor" in the Contextual menu). This way you get the best of both worlds
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier versions) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. There are versions that are compatible with iPhoto 5, 6, 7 and 8 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
NOTE: The new rebuild option in iPhoto 09 (v. 8.0.2), Rebuild the iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup" makes this tip obsolete.

  • Title and end slides in IMovie?

Is there any way to have a blank background you can write on for the title and ending in iMovie '09.
I don't want that info superimposed over the video. I would have thought they could provide a single panel to do that similar to all the other titles they offer. Do you have to make that elsewhere and import it?
    Thank you

Wow, thank you, Apple man! That was simple. However, I found that when I select the Centered title which shows a larger heading and a smaller subheading, as soon as I try to select a font, color, and size, both lines, heading and subheading, default to the same size, and won't go back to 2 different size fonts. It seems to be one text field, rather than two separate one, as it is in the "Lower Third" title.
I guess that can't be helped.
    thanks again, Josh
