Position to position relationship

Hi,
I have created customized relation between two position by copying A002 relationship.
Thru Transaction code PP01, i maintained relationship between two positions.
But if i maintains relations for other employee then it deletes the first relationship.
For ex. consider two employees (position) X and (position) Y reporting to employee (position) Z.
I maintained X-Z relationship.
But when i creates Y-Z relationship after saving it deletes X-Z relationship.
Please guide to resolve this issue.

Holder-Position relationship not created during hiring in PA40

Hi,
I have an issue right now where the holder-position relationship was not created when I hired a new employee thru PA40. We could correct this via RHINTE00. However, we would like to know first before we run the program on what could be the probable cause why the relationship was not created. All infotype records of the employee were added successfully in the system, it is only the SP relationship in HRP1001 that was not created during hiring. I'm still trying to replicate it to find the probable cause but still no luck. It only occurred once (quite rare). Since we can't replicate it, may we know when or how the relationship will not be created?

Bringing back person to position relationships of a particular Org unit

Dear Gurus,
Do let me know how can I bring back person to position relationships of a particular Org unit only. I had used transaction code RHINTE00 but it executes for the whole structure. Please guide me through this.

Dear Friends,
Actually this is not about one or two positions, there are 100 to 200 positions involved. This situation arises when I create a new org structure as well as new positions & transport it from development to production server and the relationship between old positions & their holders gets vanished in org structure in production server. Usually I use the transaction code RHINTE00 to bring back the same. But what i need is a transaction code by which I can bring back those relationships in batch input method.

How to extract subordinate-superior-Chief Position relationship

Hi,
I need a report in the following format:
Employee Pernr, Employee Name, Org. Unit, Superior Pernr, Superior Name, Chief Position.
How can I do this?
My PD consultant needs this because he has to store this information.

Hi,
You'll need to go by extracting data quite a few times through HRP and PA tables. SE16.
Function modules..u'l get the data for single employee unless u use it in Z report.
1. Find all O-S B012 relationships -- Chief
2. For all chiefs find subordinates S-S B002 relationship (keep one wrksheet for this)
3. PA0001 find personnel numbers for all positions for ENDDA 31.12.9999
4. PA0002 find person names
5. VLOOKUP the personnel numbers against postion names and employee names against personnel numbers in the same sheet.
Seems a very tedious process but I had used the same to extract these details, did not find nething standard.

Position relationship data like Task & Substitution in the Details Area

Dear All
Can be display the task details & the substition details linked to a position through relationships B007 & B210 using an custom view in the Details area of Nakisa.
We can create an custom view with the required evaluation path but can the task & substitution details also get displayed in the Details area...?

Do you mean that you want to display information regarding Task and Subtitution in the Position Details Panel (not in a view in the org structure)?
If yes, then this is possible. You can add a new NakisaRFC function in the Data Center that can extract this information. you need to use the option Edit/Create new data element joining multiple SAP Tables.

Position to Person one to one relationship..Soultion??

Business Scenario (1): Time Constraint Class=1
Reason: - CLIENT wants to have one to one person to position relationship at all times
Before the Exit Action, CLIENT runs u201CPre separation Actionu201D and put the last day and notice period day during the Action execution. The notice period is 90 days.
Now CLIENT wants to hire a new EE on that existing position during that notice period of 90 days. Here the Time Constraint class=1 is not allowing to hire 2 person on the same position
The Proposed Solution: (Which has been rejected by the client)
1) Copy the existing position and hire the new EE on that one and mark the existing position Obsolete during the exit action or EE leave the company -now the CLIENT is worried on the Headcount increase on positions and doesnu2019t want to create new ones.
2) The second solution that someone has provided me is that; attach the backfill guy to the work center, which is actually connected to the position instead. How is that done and is it going to solve the problem?

Solution 1 is generally accepted in the industry. Try and convince the client with the following reason:
1. Tracking of costs becomes easier (since the position relationship exists in line with the active status of each employee)
2. Situations like reversal of separation are handled as matter of course within the system (a situation which would be difficult to carry out if two employees hold the same position)
3. The solution lies in standard SAP. Activities like creating a custom relationship (for temporary holder of position) and custom evaluation paths, and costs of these activities, are avoided.
Other than allowing two employees to occupy one position or carrying out solution 1 in your message, there is no way in standard SAP to meet this requirement (the assumption here being that creation of custom objects, relationships and evaluation paths are not part of the standard SAP solution).

SAP R/3 : Indirect Role assignments - Is position unique to every user?

So if my understanding is correct, it is better to assign roles - indirectly by position, so that if an employee's position changes, his role can be removed, based on position again ??? And somewhere we are linking with infotype 105.
My only doubt is : if we are going to assign roles by position and remove the roles by position, so that as the position of an employee changes, the previous roles become null and void and new roles can be assigned as per new position.
So would like to know :
as to whether this position number which we see from PA20, is unique to every user on the system ?
So that, if there is a need to remove a role based on postion, we could remove the role from PO13;
BY doing that, then will it not affect other users ?
Can somebody help me understand this.
Because if i want to see the effect immediately, if i go to PFUD and put the role name and say execute, i see that the role which was removed from PO13 is gone immediately from the user.

Can you please help me understand this.
I understand from HR person that position is uniquely defined (from hire to retire)
and roles are generally given based on position.
However, I see a person : whose roles have been assigned as per position all these years.
He had 2 roles in project A. He now moved into a different project B.
But. when i check, i still see the roles - reflecting on SU01 & well as in the tab of user of the role X under pfcg.
BUT when i check PO13 - and put the position / relationship and say overview.
I dont see the roles at all there.
Why this is so. Why the discrepancy on different screens.
Also How can I get a confirmation that - these roles are actually removed and is not there for the user.
Rather.
How could the removal of roles based on position become completely effective on the system.
So that all screens display the same information.
Also would like to know - whether it is ok to remove the role expiry date directly from PFCG/ROLE Display/user tab/select user/
and then make the role invalid or expired / or extend the expiry.

BAPI to create a position?

Is there any BAPI/FM to create a position, relationships, vacancy and account assignment feature. And it should return the newly created position number.

Donnie, I entered these values in HRIQ_BAPI_INFTY_INSERT:
IV_PLVAR = 01
IV_OBJID = None (as I want it to be internal number range)
IV_BEGDA = 02/10/2010
IV_ENDDA = 12/31/9999
IV_OTYPE = S
IV_INFTY = 1000 and left other fields blank. When I am executing, getting a runtime error. Can you check whether I entered right values and what other fields I need to enter? Does this return the positions no. created?

Report to retreive cost centers of positions (including inherited CC)

I need to create a report to display the cost center linked to a position (relationship A011) or the cost center inherited from the organizational unit of the position. I've looked into the SDN forums, in the standard reports and I made some tests with a ad-hoc query using the PCH log. db but without luck so far.
Can someone give me some hints on how I can proceed ?

user wants to capture the marketing cost using IO and COPA
Ex:
For marketing purpose user buy 100 shirts and create PO which trigger IO and while creating IO itself the qty and cost should be updated in COPA (user using both costing and account based copa)
and while distributing the shilts to the team the same will be reduced from IO which should also reflect in COPA

Org unit is not getting defaulted for the selected position in infotype0001

Org unit is not getting defaulted for the selected position in infotype 0001 during the hiring action.
In OM Org. units and positions have been created.
The Org. unit to Position relationship is also created.
But inspite of this, In infotype 0001, the after selecting a position, the Org unit is still getting defaulted to "00000000" instead of the Org. unit Id to which the position belongs. (Please note: At the time of selecting the position, I do structure search and the position is shown under the correct Or. unit)
Have I missed any step?

Have u run the RHINTE programmes properly ?
are u able to save the record?
As some times it may be display probolem, if u r able to save the record then check the relationship in pp10/po13.
and U have not answered what Mr. Valeri is asking about your Implementation/support because these type we come accress if data is not uploaded properly.

Org Unit Under Position

Hi,
Can we create an org unit under a position (other than chief position)
Eg: GM will be the top of the Company, under GM different departments, is it possible in OM..?

Functional units are reprseneted in OM.Please check allowed relationship per object type.tcode OOIT..Org units and Position relationship can be assimilated using this.
please check T778T,T777E(Table T777E contains all the relationships permitted between organizational objects)
Table T7791 contains information about which SAP organizational object types should be linked with positions, which with jobs and which with organizational units.
objects and relationships are building blocks of OM(1000 and 1001)

Reporting on direct reports by position.

I currently run reports on line managers and how many people report to them. I do this by using Ad Hoc Query and choosing HR-OM:PPOME (/SAPQUERY/HE). This gives me a list of staff and their line managers. I then run a quick pivot table to get the amount of staff a line manager has reporting to him. However if there are gapped or vacant post between levels, the line manager above the vacant post picks up the employees below the vacant post as their own direct reports.
I have had a request to create a report that only picks up direct reports, but rather than link the line manager to employees they have working for them, it is a requirement to link the position to the individuals.
Eg. John Smith (Head of Production) sits at the top of the Organisational Management structure. On the current report Bill Johnson (Production Manager) will be show us one of his reports. However there is a vacant post (Deputy Head of Production) in between the 2 employees which John line manages and Bill reports to.
Does anybody know if there is a report that i can run with the position relationships on as well as basic staff data?

I require the following fields to be output:
Personnel Number (If Occupied)
Employee Name (If Occupied)
Payroll Grade
Pay Scale Group
Position Number
Position Name
Cost Centre Number
Cost Centre Name
Name of Organisational Unit (Division)
Line Manager's (LM's) Personnel Number (If Occupied)
LM's Name (If Occupied)
LM's Payroll Grade
LM's Pay Scale Group

This will include any vacant posts as well as occupied posts. Then i can mess around with pivot tables and lookups in Excel.

Assign Chief Position to custom OM Object Business Unit

Hello
Is it recommended or doable to assign chief position via 012 relationship to the top most custom object Business Unit. Currently the chief position relationships is for Org Units. We would like to keep Chief Position to OU, also if possible to create similar 012 relationship to Business Unit. Since Business Unit will have one-to-many relationship with Regions, need is to identify chief position for the Business Unit for reporting purposes.
Evaluation path for Business Unit - Region - OU - Position - Person.

yes, in om structure it will be seen as top most OM object business unit (top most) region --> o.u. --> position --> person. Can I use 012 relationship of position assigned to top most business unit and keep 012 position relationship to OU.?
Narrowing down. Currently, chief position relationship is assigned to top OU that is tied to region 1:1 relationship. Now with the new top most custom object business unit has many regions. So need to identify top most region tied to business unit via 012 position.
Is it possible and how?

"Show Team Calendar" should show team based on position to position rel.

Hi ,
On the portal under : "Leave Request" the "Show Team Calendar" functionality display the team if the HR record in the "Chief" or "Boss" of the organization . We do not use "Chief" but position to position relationship (direct reports) .
Can we change the "Show Team Calendar" functionality so it looks at the position to position relationship ?

Sorry Gupta, I think A012 relationship is only to make a position as a Chief Hat position and this is basically between a position and Org, Unit. Not to maintain the position to position relationship.
My suggestion is to maintain the position to position relationship.
Note: Please take in to consideration multiple relationship structure if you have workflows.
