Possibility of Apple TV playing one Itunes Library while the computer plays a different library at the same time (Mac)

The Apple TV is for my son's room to watch his videos, listen to music, etc. off his iTunes library I made for him on my Mac.  I want to be able to listen to my own library at the same time he has his. Apple TV only recognizes the current library open; unless I'm doing something wrong or the stars haven't aligned for me yet, is there a way to do this? I can't run two iTunes at the same time (wish I could).
*Note- to teach my son about computers, I bought an old green iMac which will be for his learning venture.  The iMac however does not have wifi (at least not yet).  Perhaps something for you Mac professionals can use to help me whip up a good setup, unfortunately the iMac is slow, not enough HD space, so I don't have the funds right now to open it up and do what can be done.  (If this helps)

Hi All,
Same issue here. Just upgraded (?) from the previous version of Apple TV, to the new Apple TV2. Like others here, my main problems seem to be with unreliable streaming from iTunes 10 on my PowerMac (Quad G5, Leopard OSX).
My original AppleTV had no issues w/the wireless network, or synching w/my PowerMac.
The network connection from the ATV2 are fine, and have no issues accessing the Apple Store (for movies, TV shows), or accessing Netflix. The access to the internet from my ATV2 is quite robust.
My problems are with keeping a constant, reliable wireless connection to my PowerMac, via an Airport Extreme wireless router.
I have tried multiple restarts, reboots, reset ATV2 to original settings, tried different wireless channels on the Airport Extreme, verified I have Home Sharing properly enabled in iTunes, etc, but no luck so far.
What I'm seeing is when I access my iTunes on my computer, I can see my library, and then if I start to "shuffle songs" I may get 1 to 3 songs to play fine, but then the music stops, and I can no longer access the music/movies/etc in iTunes any longer. When I then go to my PowerMac, it has lost most bars of signal strength on the wireless network (although all other devices show strong signal strength), and I have to Turn AirPort Off, then Turn AirPort On and I then am reconnected to the wireless network with good signal.
I then go back to the ATV2, connect to my iTunes, start my music, and then 1-2 songs later it again stops playing, and I go through this all over again.
It seems as though there is something on the wireless network between the ATV2 and my PowerMac that causes it to lose connection, and I have to manually start again. The problem is that the connection is not robust, and only lasts a few minutes.
Hope this gets solved soon.
Regards
Tom

  • Hi, can anyone tell me if I can have more than one iTunes account on the same PC. I've just bought my wife an iPad2 and want to create a separate account for her. Can I do that on the same PC as mine?

Hi, can anyone tell me if I can have more than one iTunes account on the same PC. I've just bought my wife an iPad2 and want to create a separate account for her. Can I do that on the same PC as mine? Thanks.

I would advise that you not set up a second Apple ID. It's really not necessary - having two Apple IDs won't affect how iTunes works with your iPads - and will just complicate matters. Each iPad will be treated independently and can be set to sync only the items you want on that particular iPad. If you really want to keep the two iPads separate, set up different iTunes libraries and have only those items you want on the related iPad in that library, rather than a different Apple ID. If you plan not to use a computer and just download directly to the iPads, you can again choose what apps and content each iPad gets.
But answering your specific question, you can have content from up to five iTunes Store accounts on any one computer or iPad. To create a new iTunes Store account, you'll need a different email address, and from there you just create the account the same way you did the first one.
    Regards.

How to use multiple iPhone, iPad, or iPod devices with one computer. The only way is for you to have a separate user account to log into on that computer.

  • HT2534 can you have more than one itunes account on the same computer?

can you have more than one itunes account on the same computer?

Yes. Either create and use separate Windows user accounts, or launch iTunes with the Shift key held down as desired.

  • Using more than one input device at the same time

Is it possible to use more than one input device at the saem time in logic express. For example I have a fire wire input device and a usb input device can I get Express to recognize both of these at once and so have a total of 4 ins which would be great since Im transfering tracks off my ADAT and it would be less track to have to line up.
    Thanks

    Hi,
yes, it should be possible by creating an aggregate device. Google for it or search this forum. There are many tutorials how to set it up.

  • Did 11.1 restore the iTunes 10 feature of opening two iTunes windows at the same time?

I use an iPod Classic and I like rating my songs. When I get home from a trip, I will open two iTunes windows and play with the iPod music and iTunes music at the same time. I cannot upgrade to iTunes 11 because this feature was (stupidly) missing. Did 11.1 bring this functionality back?

    Hi,
    Unfortunately no.

  • Can multiple PCs access one remote panel at the same time?

I've written a program in labview 7.1 to monitor/control a labview application running in the test cell through Remote Panel. I and my coworker can remotely monitor and/or control this labview application individually. But if my coworker has the remote panel displayed on his PC and I try to get the remote panel on my PC, I get a labview error (63) as below:
"LabVIEW:  Serial port receive buffer overflow.
LabVIEW:  The network connection was refused by the server."
My question is: Can multiple PCs access one remote panel at the same time?
    Thanks in advance!
    Y

Sorry I wasn't clear. The remote panel license is separate from the number of LabVIEW development licenses. Pricing information on remote panel licenses can be found here.

  • Using more than one front panel at the same time

I have a main program where I can call sub vi’s and then the sub vi’s front panel opens.
I want to use/see/operate more than one front panel at the same time. How I can do it?
For example when I close the main program it won’t close before I close all the sub vi’s front panels.
I use event case to call these sub vi’s. Can I close all vi's using one button?

I wouldn't use subVIs for display, at least not if you plan to have them open all the time. Instead, I would suggest that you have one loop with a FP VI which will talk to the FP all the time and will pass to the data to the other loops through a variable or a functional global.
Then, you can use a tab control to organize your display. If there is no specific reason for not having the graphs in the same VI, you can use a tab control to organize it. If you can't, you can also use subpanels to display the VIs and put several subpanels in your VI.
If you still want to display the VIs seperately, you can control their positions and sizes through their proerty nodes, but I don't think there's any reason for this.
To learn more, I suggest you read the LabVIEW style guide. I think it has some tips about application design.

  • Please can someone explain how to retrieve deleted text, I was clearing old text when one came through at the same time so was also deleted.

Can someone please tell me how to retrieve deleted text. i was clearing old texts when a new one came through at the same time and was deleted also.  My last update was  iOS 8.1.2

You restore from a backup that was created after the text was received but before it was deleted.
But if you literally deleted it right after it came in, then it's not recoverable.  Have the other person resend the text.

  • How to sync one itunes library on PC to a Mac?

I bought a MacBook recently but have my itunes library on my PC which I am still using. Both my laptops (one PC, one Mac) are authorised on the same apple ID.
    1. is it possible to sync and share the same itunes library? how to do this?
I would like to be able to buy songs on itunes on both laptops and have both library updated at the same time. and both laptops will be on different networks.

There are a few utilities that can help you sync iTunes across different computers. You could begin your research by having a look at these for instance:
    TuneRanger
    SuperSync

  • Open 2 iTunes windows at the same time?

Using iTunes 11.0.4 is there a way to open to Playlist windows at the same time?
    Thanks!!
    Peter

I know, I know.  iTunes 11 has been a big step back, in my humble opinion.  Had a few issues with iPad & iPod syncing and miss a few 'undocumented features' that I've come to rely on, like multiple windows.
Although one thing that has always irritated me is how (which I've submitted an [ignored?] feedback on) the view will reset back to the top/first artist when you are importing a CD ... it means you have to madly scroll through and click on a close-enough artist before iTunes moves on to importing the next track, otherwise the view scrolls back to the top again (I've got almost 28k songs in my library ... not boasting, I just like music).  So it can be quite tedious.
Would happily revert to iTunes 10.

  • Is there a way to rename multiple Itunes songs at the same time

Is there a fast way to rename multiple Itunes songs at once, instead of renaming one song inside Itunes at a time? For example; So I can select multiple songs at once and rename each songs Genre all at the same time? Without needing to rename song by song?
    Casey Computer

You can click on multiple songs, and change info in the Get Info > Info screen.  This applies to most fields EXCEPT Name.  iTunes has never allowed the simultaneous change of Name of multiple songs, presumably on the grounds that it is usually an error to do so.
Regarding Genre, yes, this can be changed for multiple songs at once, using the Info tab of Get Info.

  • Is it possible to use 1 license on 2 computers at the same time?

    Hi,
I've searched through the forums and found some points which cover part of my question, but I would just like to be absolutely clear on something.  If somebody is able to help, I would be extremely grateful.
I have one CC license, and it is installed to a desktop PC. However I am often in meetings in different areas of the company's large site - overseeing photography, video shooting, working through designs with clients, etc.
Now I'm aware that I can use my one license to install Creative Cloud apps on 2 computers, but what I specifically want to know is if they can be used at the same time.
I would like the freedom of being signed on and working in, for example, InDesign in my office, but then if I have to shoot across the site to a colleagues office, to be able to take a laptop and work on a different document, maybe on a different app, maybe on the same app, without having to first log out of my desktop PC.  Does that make sense?
Like I say, I've seen a number of posts which are clear about the possibility of having all apps on two systems, but a few things I've read have mentioned that both machines/apps cannot be in use at the same time.
Please can somebody clear this up?
    Thank you,
    -Ben

Does that mean you have to sign out of creative cloud on one machine and sign back in to creative cloud on the other machine to be able to use it?
No. You can be signed in to the Cloud (using the same Adobe ID) on two separate computers at the same time.
If you want to activate the Cloud on a 3rd machine then you need to sign out of one of the other computers.
Your issue on your home computer is unlikely to be related to signing in.
