Possibility of Web dynpro ABAP development for SAP R/3 4.7 Version

Hi Experts,
I request for information regarding Web Dynpro ABAP. We have SAP R/3 4.7 as back end. And we are going to implement NetWeaver 2004s - Enterprise Portal 7.0 as front end. We are taking development option as Web Dynpro ABAP. Is it possible to do development in Web Dynpro ABAP where you have SAP R/3 version as 4.7.

But when we push the print button, it works but doesn't generate the pdf document correctly.
alvexport.pdf 1 bytes_ the size of the document isn't correct because there is not content inside.

The connection test in SM59 only does a basic PING to the web service endpoint. Often it will show OK, when in fact the ADS is not setup correctly. That is why there are some test applications that do more.
For proper testing of your setup see OSS Note 944221. But basically run the ABAP programs FP_PDF_TEST_00 and FP_CHECK_DESTINATION_SERVICE. You can also try running the web dynpro components WDR_TEST_ADOBE and WDR_TEST_ADOBE_PDF_ONLY

How to configure SSO for web dynpro ABAP (not web dynpro Java)

Hi Experts,
 I am testing SSO in IDES for web dynpro ABAP (Not for web dynpro Java / not for portal). When I am entering url of web dynpro application in web browser like internet explorer, then it should ask for user id and password first time, after login whenever user would access that url, it must not ask for user ID and password (url would be access web browser in mobile). For this I select to configure single sign-on for web dynpro ABAP. I have done below works:
1). I have created a web dynpro application having url: http://susws076.sap.swk:<port>/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/zadb_hello_world2
2). I run TCode SICF and access service node to "Zadb_hello_world2". Double click on it, hit change. pressed "logon data" tab, select "Alternative logon
 procedure"
 Then deleted all logon procedure other than "SSO Authentication" and saved.
3). Go to "STRUST" and create certificate, choosed "Environment==> Logon Ticket" fill the required parameters and execute. It is OK (no red traffic
 signal).
4). Execute TCode "RZ10" to change profile parameter, insert new parameter (indicated by red arrow)
After all this settings I opened a browser enter above URL and hit enter but there is an error
There is no login page. It directly showed this error page. No cookies is saving.
Can anyone tell me what all the settings/configuration other than this I have to do. And is there any wrong setting done by me?
How to set the for single sign-on?

Are there any standard web dynpro ABAP or JAVA for material creation(mm41)?

I have got the requirement to provide Web Dynpro application for material creation (transaction code is MM41) and I would prefer to enhance standard Web Dynpro more than develop from scratch. Now I got only the Web dynpro ABAP component for create sales order called "LO_OIF_MAIN_COMP" and GUI HTML for purchasing order that come with business package Eh4.
Anyone who know please kindly help me.

You could just lookup the WD Application in SE80 and then it will show you the component name. From SE80 choose Edit Object from the toolbar. Go to the Web Objects tab in the dialog. Type in the WD Application name and hit enter. You will then see the details of that application.

For Web dynpro ABAP you will require SAP ECC 6.0 onwards and WAS 7.0
is a must. It has very good future propspects as this is best UI technology.
In web dynpro ABAP we follow MVC(Model View Controller) architecture.
In this object oriented ABAP is used to provide background functionality. Here, your ABAP skills can be utilized to the fullest. Programming in web dynpro ABAP is different than conventional ABAP programming. Here we strictly follow MVC architecture in terms of controller interface. Also there are many wizards available so that we can directly pick the code from wizards.
e.g We can call BAPI through a service call in web dynpro application. Thus automatically backgroud code for BAPI execution will be generated.

These questions are for someone who have extensively worked on both Web Dynpro ABAP as well as BSP in the past.
(1) Will it be worth gaining knowledge on BSP since we already have now Web
 Dynpro ABAP platform for web development ?.
 Will it help to learn Web Dynpro ABAP if you have good knowledge in BSP ?.
(2) In release 6.0 we have Web Dynpro ABAP and with the availabiltity of Web
 Dynpro ABAP do you think there will be any reason for people to go for
 development using BSP ?.

Answer 1) I will suggest to directly Switch it WebDynpro for ABAP .
I have worked in both areas WebDynpro For Abap and BSP.
Now why WebDynpro For ABAP .In my view BSP and WebDynpro ABAP are two distinct and Complex areas . So Instead of putting efforts and energy to explore BSP and trying to apply that Logic in WD ABAP wont be right deal .
Now let me make you one thing clear . WebDynpro ABAP programming is much more different experience than BSP .It strictly follows MVC (Model View Controller ) .Not just that you need to have good sense of OOABAP classes and methods , interfaces etc.
May at time Achieving some functionality with BSP over web will be easy deal compare to same thing in WebDynpro ABAP .ut as your thinking in Context of WD ABAP will mature you will find it easier .
Answer 2) Ya there might be reason for going for BSP development .
In my view there are to possible reason
1) Based on current skill sets of SAP resources and Complexity of thing .Many time if less web Services are there and if you have existing BSP resources then its better for BSP development.
2) Amount you want use other things like HTML or javascript .You can more easily use things in BSP .

Display file content in Web Dynpro ABAP

Hello,
we would like to be able to display any file after having uploaded files using FileUpload ui element in a web dynpro abap application.
for microsoft word excel files, the OfficeControl ui element can be used and for pdf documents the InteractiveForm ui element can be used.
for other formats such as '.tif', '.jpg', '.txt'..... we did not find out how to be able to display the file contents
Does anybody know if and how this could be achieved?

You may be right. Also it requires some configuration in SAP KPro ( document class etc).

Data Maintenance Web Dynpro ABAP versus Classic ABAP

I am working on a project where I will have to create a couple of custom master data tables. In classic SAP it is very easy to create standard table maintenance screens for master data via transaction SE54 where you can assign an authorization group for security purposes if necessary. Although we very much like Web Dynpro ABAP development, I cannot find an easy way to create the same userfriendly table maintenance screens as we know them in classic SAP.
That's why I am a bit in doubt: on the one hand we want the web look and feel, but on the other hand creating the maintenance functionality in classic sap is very simple and straight forward. Whatever the solution will be, classic or not, it will become part of a portal someday. I know both solutions can be linked to a portal so that's no decision maker in our case.
Does somebody have any idea if there is something available for generating standard data maintenance screens in Web Dynpro ABAP without the need for a lot of additional coding? Basically I am looking for a web dynpro replacement for transaction SE54.

Webdynpro abap is a screen design interface, as module pool, in module pool development we can only desigh screens, similarly in wda is also intented to design screen that are web enabled,
while in classical abap we have the povision to call a transaction from a screen, while in wda, we have the provision to call another screen or view, but not a transaction.
unfortunately we cant embedd a tranction inside a wda development, so the only provision to simulate SE54 in wda is to create screens manually.

If you need some standard examples then do WDR* and you'll get a big list in se80 transaction. Also SWDP_DEMO is a good package to refer to. Check for WDR_TEST_UI_ELEMENTS and WDR_TEST_EVENTS for UI operations and their various events.

I want to know what is web dynpro Abap ? How it is defferent from ABAP? Where can i get the materials and documentation regarding Web Dynpro ABAP. I have heared lot about web dynpro abap but i dont know any thing about it. Lots of my friends who are in SAP field suggested me to learn Web dynpro ABAP but with out knowing any thing wht shd i learn. What are all required to learn web dynpro abap. 4. You should know the limitations of a web Applications and you should know how a typical web application works, that's enough to go with Web Dynpro with knowledge of ABAP.

SRM 7.0 Web Dynpro ABAP Customization

Hi ,
Upgrading from SRM 5.0 to SRM 7.0 and would require customization at the Web Dynpro ABAP Component for RFx.
I need to put a pop-up screen when the Buyer clicks on the "AWARD" button on the Bid Screen. Now I am not able to find the award action/event at the Web Dynpro component level where I have to put the pop-up code and other related logic. I also tried getting into the SPRO and find the class which may contain the AWARD event. Please let me know the solution to this problem. Thank you.

Absolute URL IMAGE UI control in Web Dynpro ABAP fails

I would like to display a .jpg from the Internet, either using a URL or an RFC Destination as the source.
The "Web Dynpro ABAP Development in Detail" manual says that this can be done using only the Source attribute of the IMAGE UI control (see page 114) - that is,
   create an RFC Destination G-HTTP entry for the URL,
   type in that RFC Destination as $NAME$
   append any further extension of the URL as "/path in lower letters"
I can enter an RFC Destination (ex., $UBERORBS$) which points directly to a single image file via its host/path and it is displayed in SE80's Layout Preview, but nothing displays at runtime.
If I try to extend an RFC Destination's path to point to that image file (ex., $UBERORBS_BASE$/uberorbs_44pence.jpg), the image is also displayed in the Layout Preview, but not at runtime.
Is this a bug? or something wrong with our implementation? We are at SAP_BASIS 700 level 0006.
(Also, if the Source entry is not exactly correct, SE80 aborts following the entry with STRING_OFFSET_NEGATIVE.)

Here's another piece of information.
I am able to use the test app WDR_TEST_UI_ELEMENTS to display at runtime the $UBERORBS$ RFC Destination-absolute URL image.
So, does this mean that there is a critical setting within my Web Dynpro component which must be set properly to permit this?

Export the them from the file system of portal through BSP_UPDATE_MIMEREPOS and change it then import the theme using BSP_UPDATE_MIMEREPOS program and apply the theme.
