Would you know if it is possible to have bi reports as a gadget in igoogle and if yes, how I would do that?

Hi Vasu,
If I understand you correct, you want to group the data on Region level and add a Region parameter on the report. If I have anything misunderstood, please point it out.
In MDX, there is no direct equivalent to a "GROUP BY". Currently, adding a Region attribute is by far the easiest way to do this. With an attribute the query is trivial and it will work in other client tools like Excel. If you want to achieve it on query
level, you have to manually generate members to aggregate each Region. I am afraid it will be much more complex. Here is a blog about GROUP BY query on MDX, please refer to the link below.

Hi All,
I would like to know in BI.7 Bex reporting, is there any facility where i can do the 3 reports in a single output.
As per my knowledge when come to the 3rd party reporting tools like busines objects where we can get more than one report in same output screen.
In BI.7 we can see a lot changes, as per requirement for my client i have to design a report which should give me Inventory, Billing and General Ledger report in a single output.

In Bex 3.5 we can do the workbook 3 reports in 3 different sheets.

This is even possible in NW04s, or BEx Analyzer 7.0.

Is it possible to have a report BODY layout span more than 1 page?

I've got a ton of information for the Main Section Body of a report but it won't all fit on 1 page. Is there any way to stretch the Main Section Body of a report over more than 1 page?

That's not what I mean. I have a list of 50 line items that takes up 25 inches of vertical space. While I can stretch the size of the main page to fit what I need it becomes an issue during printing because the printer has to squeeze 25 inches down into 11 inches and that makes it too tiny to be readable.

Hi,
I followed your suggestion and defined an IR with apex_item.text columns and it works fine. Now however I face a new problem when I run the page and use the standard Search Bar:
- Click on Actions/Filter
- Select a column, for example the employee name.
- Open the Expression field LOV: I correctly see the different names.
- When I select one of the names, in the Expression field, instead of the name, I see:
"<input type="text" name="f03" size="20" maxlength="2000" value="Eugene" />"
Horrible!!!!!!
Is there a way to see the name and not that expression? The same thing get downloaded, so it´s really annoying.

I have a report from WhatisHang which (in theory) tells my why my firefox constantly hangs up. But I need someone who can help figure this out.

I hope this section will work, i couldnt find a place for Hang ups, and this problem doesnt usually cause a full crash, which is why it was hard to figure it out.
I finally used the program WhatisHang to try to get an idea of what is causing the seemingly random hanging, but have been unable to find anyone who can help me with it.
I have posted the Troubleshooting Information, though i dont think it would be of much help.
I have the report available but dont know where i can post it.

I must admit I seem possibly to be suffering from hangs also, although as I am often not in a hurry when using firefox on this machine it has little impact. I am using a legacy computer and tend to blame this on the computer or maybe background tasks such as from security software or indexing.

Have you tried to rule out
* background tasks are the problem, (at least monitor what else is running using Task Manager or sysinternals process explorer)
* [[is my firefox problem a result of malware|malware]]. ( consider full system scans with multiple tools/software)
* any other interacting programs or plugins (some may not be listed in firefox, you may need to check / uninstall from the OS {Windows Control Panel})
**it may also be an idea to check hangs still occur when WhatIsHangs is not in use.
* have you tried logging the cc & gc times in the error console, (if for instance you see times in 1000s of milliseconds appearing you may have then identified one reason for firefox being unresponsive, even if the cause is not yet identified. - a symptom the memshrink firefox developers will no doubt be eager to investigate)
* if you can get hangs in safe mode, on at least the Aurora channel releases I suggest you immediately go ahead and file a bug yourself. (I will try to find time if not today then next weekend to look more closely at my own system to see if it is showing hangs in firefox use)
** ideally try with all default preferences
** As you have changed preferences, I suggest you include as a attachment in the bug your list of user modified preferences (use ''about:support'' or Troubleshooting Information option)
** State what security software is in use, it could be an important factor. (I imagine the majority of users have security software, or if not have security vulnerabilities and potentially an undetected malware problem)
I will try to find and download a copy of WhatIsHang, see if it works on my system and what results it then shows.
I realise I have not said anything terribly helpful I solving your problem, but I suspect you are not alone in having hangs, if you are able to spare the time to investigate and report I am sure it will help others.
Firefox has had a few problems recently that would have been solved sooner if they were investigated when first reported, but unfortunatly an advantage of firefox is how easy it is to customise, but the downside is differentiating between a firefox fault and customisation problems.

Yesterday, the numbers of reports possible were in the twenties.
All services are "In Service"
No configuration changes have been made to any supervisors.
Anyone know why the other reports would go away?

The reports you see listed are nothing to do with the server really. They are templates made up of an XML file and some .rpt files in the templates subdir of the HRC installation directory.
If you don't see them, it sounds to me like the xml files have been deleted or corrupted. The easy way to fix would be to reinstall HRC.

Is it possible to optimize a report painter? How?
It's too risky too edit the codes since all of the programs are SAP Standard programs. I already added indices in to the customized tables. But still it takes me 12 minutes to excute this report painter.
I tried to debug the codes there are several and nested perform routines inside the loop.Have you tried modifying a report painter program?

Hello,I have a vast amount of reports. The user can select a list of reports and group them. I want the user to be ableto treat the report group as a single report (I.e. export to a single pdf file instead of 10 etc.) Is is possible to create an empty report that I can use to group all the reports that the user has selected into one?or Is it possible to design a report at runtime? I am using CR with VS .NET 2005. And have not found a way. Does the Developer version of CR allow me to do this? Any help will be greatly appreciated. If it's a report program, use a comment in the selcetion screen for information of the user as shown below.

Is it possible to have delimited output using burst distributed mode

I am aware that it is not possible to have burst mode and delimited output using reports. I am using reports 9.0.4.0.21. Are there any work arounds ? Is it possible to use ascii, and then use the destype=printer, but the printer destination will be a file location or direcotory ? Any suggestions with this ?

Just to make it clear, if the question isnt. I am trying to hae burst mode distribution, but i am not able to use the feature in Oracle Reports, since delimited output is not supported. I would like to use the burst mode distribution because of its advantages, however since that is not supported the only other alternative in burst mode is using format=ascii. But that format, as much as i am aware, is only for printing, since the mode has to be character. Is it possible to have any workarounds where the mode=character, but the device which reports points to is actually another file location ? Has anybody got any interesting ideas ?

Possible? Yes. But you'll want to write your own report for it as what's native likely won't help you much. Check out the user activity report, search for a user and drill into the detail on that call. That takes you to the Peer to
Peer Session Detail report for that call, if you expand Media Quality report, you can see the IPs on each end, the location as defined in Lync, the client types... You'll just need to compile it into your own report for better readability.
We do that as part of our Lync managed services offering, we have custom reports that outline call quality issues per subnet so you can see how the call quality of a particular branch or wifi VLAN compares to another.

I want to know that is it possible to create dynamic reports using netbeans? Dynamic reports means based on user selection(for eg. say by selecting values from combo boxes) some query will be genatated and fetch the query result from data base and displayed results in iReports only my problem is i am working on Netbeans IDE and i have installed iReports as plugins in netbeans IDE. and i am not able to find any tutorial that show me how to work with iReports under netbeans IDE. and how to create dynamic reports in iReports. If u know any such tutorial then can you send me link plz...!

Possible to have a URL link to an Opportunity list?

Is it possible to have a URL (that I can send to people) to link directly to an Opportuniy List in Siebel? I assume this is much the same method as linking a record or a report. I right click on the headings pane of the list and go to properties for the URL, open a new browser, paste it in, and I'm taken to the log in screen. From here, when I log in I want to be taken directly to the list, but it just loads my homepage. Now, if I post that same link into a browser where I am ALREADY logged in to Siebel, the link works fine, takes me right to the list, and does what I want. I have made this work with specific record links that I throw into an email, but I can't get it to work with lists. Is this possible?

Using the URL from the address bar doesn't work if you aren't in a browser that is already logged in to Siebel. If you are in the same browser and already logged in to Siebel, it will load the list. But if you are in a fresh browser where it hasn't regeistered you as logged in to Siebel, it will take you to the log in page and then direct you to your home page, not the list. I am wanting people to receive this link in an email and click it, be taken to the log in screen, then to the list after they sign on (whether logged in to Siebel or not, just like how a specific record link URL works). Is it possible to have one OBIEE analysis/dashboard open in one browser window and design a second report in another browser window? I tried it but when saving I got an cryptic XML error, though it may totally unrelated. After all, I am a OBIEE freshman.

It is better to use Mozilla browser rather than internet explorer to access answers.
