Possibility to use 3G with different providers

Hi guys!
Please answer on a simple question:
Is it possible to use SIM cards from any providers not only AT&T in iPad which purchased in USA? I'm going to buy device in US and use it in Russia (3G here available).
Thank you in advance!

Roman ~ Welcome to the discussions.

Yes, as long as it is a micro-SIM card. It's also possible to cut a SIM card down to micro-SIM size — see THIS article. And see these Apple docs:

Can two peeps use iChat with different accounts in the same computer?
(Actually, two people share a laptop, but one of us cannot use her AIM account cuz mine is in iChat already... And, when traveling, I have the computer - and I would like to use iChat on the computer...)

In iChat 4 you can have more than one AIM Valid name logged in at once.
AIM valid = AIM, @mac.com or a MobileMe name.
What you are then stuck with is that iChat is linked to one Buddy Picture and The one Mac User Account's Address Book which may or may not have Full Names, emails details, or a Nickname in iChat 4 linked to the Screen Names.
Whilst it does let you both log in whilst using one Mac User Account there are drawbacks about who uses the keyboard and reading meesages from the other persons Buddies.

No, this is not possible.  It would be like dialing your own phone number.  You must verify an additional new email address for your second iPad.  See the following link which will tell you how to do this.  You will need to add this new address to Facetime app in one of your iPads.

  • Different number of parses with different providers

    I tried to figure out
how could I control number of parsing from MS ADO app.
To my surprise it seems that there is no general way to do it.
The behaviour is heavily dependent on underlying OLEDB provider,
and for some of the providers (Oracle's own including)
I did not manage to reduce number of parses.
I wrote a simple vbs script that:
    1. Opens the connection for the given provider
    2. Executes ALTER SESSION SET session_cached_cursors=100
    3. Creates ADO command with 'SELECT ... FROM USER_TABLES..'
         and with one parameter
    4. Opens ADO recordset with this command, reads from and closes it
    Here is the script:

    001 ORDER BY TABLE_NAME
    SELECT NAME, VALUE FROM V$SYSSTAT...
    NAME VALUE
    session cursor cache hits 91062
As you see the number of parses (both soft and hard) differ from
    provider to provider.
Provider Hard parses Soft parses Executions
    ODBC 1 0 10
    MS for Oracle 11 0 10
    Oracle 11 10 10
It looks like there is no way to control this 'bad' behaviour of
OLEDB providers, at least from ADO level. I looked through the docs on
Oracle provider for 8.1.6, but found nothing.
There is a temptation to drop all this stuff in favour of SQL
    incapsulated in PL/SQL procedures...
    Any comments?

    Hello,
What's very confusing is that it doesn't always return the same number of readings. Sometimes it is 5, then 7 and afterwards 6 without changing anything. Since it is the first program for the Keithleys at work nobody can help me. I already tried highlighting execution and retain wire values. This way I saw that the VISA write command should give the correct command but the VISA read does not return the right number of readings. In addition to that I don't get any readings on the second iteration, so I can only see some on the first. The Keithley also does not show any new measurements (at least it does not show any numbers, only the typical "----").
I can't view your file but I have experience with the Keithley 2400 so here is my opinion.
This is a common problem for new users working with buffers.  The most likely cause is that you are reading the buffer BEFORE it is full.  If you initiate the second measurement immediately, you will likely see a Keithley error caused by trying to set the buffer values while a measurement is in progress.  The keithley will immediately return the buffer contents when asked to.  You, as the programmer, must set up your LabVIEW code to wait for the buffer to fill, then read the values.  While a fixed delay before reading could work, here is a better solution.
I posted my code for a I-V sweep (set voltage, measure current over a linear range) here http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/Error-code-110-in-keithley-2400/m-p/2680579#M797618.  (sorry I don't have access to the files right now to upload them here.  The idea is first set the registers to watch for the buffer to become full.  When full, the SRQ bit will be set to 1.  After starting the measurement, i probe the SRQ value in a while loop.  Once it's set to 1, read the buffer and reset registers.  This method is outlined in the Keithley 24xx SMU manual (I can't remember which page).

  • Is it possible to use jdbcappender with jboss's logger?

    Hi
Is it possible to use JDBCAppender with org.jboss.logging.Logger instead of org.apache.log4j.Logger? secondly can i also use jboss.logging.logger to send my logs to the database (not manually, using configuration file as with apache.log4j) ?
    TIA.

Back in my days, when you were new to Java, you wrote all sorts of stupid console programs and crapplets to get the hang of it.
Anyway, without seeing JBoss' logging framework, I'm gonna say "no, you can't" unless they've actually bothered to make it compatible with commons-logging (or was that log4j). However, you probably could write your own JDBCAppender for their framework or at least a small adapter that would forward the logging requests to log4j.

  • Is it possible to use aim with a mac for free?

Is it possible to use aim with a mac for free?

If you mean the application AIM for Mac, it will depend on your download speed.
If you mean "Can I use iChat with an AIM a screen name and does it cost anything ?" then the answer is Yes you can and no it does not cost and there is no download to do.
If you mean "Can I use the AIM service with an @mac screen name and can this be done for free ? " then the answer is again yes.
A trail account cost nothing and will work in ichat after the 60 days is up
A Paid for but Lapsed account will also work in iChat and for this purpose can now be considered free.
As I said and hinted at before your first question does not make it clear what you are actually asking.
The Application AIM for Mac is stuck at version 4.7 and does not do Video or Audio Only chats.
It has things that are useful in tweaking Buddy Lists in iChat but it is not specifically needed to contact AIM Buddies.

jpatricio787 wrote: ... is it possible to use it with my white MacBook ?...
OK so yes, but if, and only if:
    (1) your MacBook has a Firewire port (not all do)
        - and -
    (2) your old external iSight camera works (not all do)
        - and -
    (3) your MacBook is working properly.
If you are not certain whether your MacBook model has Firewire, you can search MacBook Technical Specifications for your model.  Alternatively, check the  User Guide Manual that came with your MacBook for the information you need to be certain.
If you are not certain that your old external iSight camera works, you can test it using the suggestions in this link.
jpatricio787 wrote: ... if so how do I go about it ? ...
Follow the instructions in your iSight User's Guide to connect and turn on the iSight.  Then launch the Apple app you want to use with your iSight.  If you need more information about using an app, search for "camera" (without the quote marks) in the Help menu choice for the app.

    hi Michael,
    welcome to SDN ...
it should possible, the delta is maintained separately for different bw system, as we can see there is 'bw system' in RSA7. make sure your new bw system has different logical system name from the existing one.
