Possibility to use self created CCMS monitor sets in DSWP

For monitoring we have created a CCMS monitor set in RZ20. To use DSWP
for monitoring, we need to recreate such a set in DSWP; Is it possible
to use the self created CCMS monitor sets in DSWP? Is there f.e. a way
to import sets from RZ20 to DSWP?

Hello Thiago,
There is no possibility of importing Monitoring Sets from RZ20 to DSWP.
Both the transactions are designed in different way and cannot be synchronized via Import / Export.
Infact the way DSWP would display and classify alerts is totally different from RZ20.
I am sorry but there is no way you could acheive this in any Standard SAP Solution Manager System.

  • CCMS Monitor Set

    Hi,
I have created CCMS monitor - "XYZ Monitor Set" set in RZ20.
How do i assign it to a user in such a way that when user log runs RZ20 it would be the only one they see.
i.e I dont want them to be able to see any other monitors.
    Thanks
    OG

    1) RZ20, Simply copy all the standard i.e SAP Monitors to Z:SAP monitor set,
    2) Go to properties of each Monitor set and make it visible only to administrators / yourself
    3) Make the other monitor set visisble to all.
    This is a way out.
    Hope this solved your issue

  • How to start to configure CCMS monitor sets ?

    hi,
when executing RZ20, the screen title is
CCMS Monitor Sets - Maintenance functions OFF
does it mean that the monitoring is not configured yet ?
if i were to start the monitoring, how do i turn it on ? what needs to be monitored ?
please share with me how you make sure of the CCMS monitor sets.

    RZ20 --> Extras --> Activate Maintainence functions
does it mean that the monitoring is not configured yet ?
Im not sure what this means. To copy the templates, I think you have to activate the maintainence function (not sure). I always do this as the 1st step.
if i were to start the monitoring, how do i turn it on ?
There are many things you will need to do
    1. Configure SCOT to send out emails
    2. Configure an auto reaction method (CCMS_ONALERT_EMAIL_V2)
    3. Assign it to the nodes you need to monitor
    4. Assign the auto reaction method to those nodes
    etc etc
what needs to be monitored ?
Usually it is the database and the filesystem space, performance etc. It really depends on what you want.
please share with me how you make sure of the CCMS monitor sets.

  • CCMS Monitoring Sets in SAP Netweaver ABAP 7.01 Trial

    Hi community,
I have successfully installed the trial in the subject but I can't see the alerts in transaction rz20 under CCMS Monitoring Templates. If I click on a node the message "No alerts data exists" appears in the status bar
I am not an expert of these functionalities, but I suspect that they have been disabled in this trial edition.     Am I right, or I have to do some post actions to activate it?
    Thanks, Valerio

    Hi,
this is true, but these are disabled (in gray color) and the alert tree is empty, because these graphical icons reflect the status of monitoring alerts.
I found that parameter alert/MONI_SEGM_SIZE was set to 0 in the instance profile
By setting it to 40000000 (minimun value) now I can see the alerts in SAP MMC and the tree of alerts is full.
Unfortunately if I go in transaction RZ20 i see nothing as before...
    Regars,
    Valerio

  • Is it possible to use my iMac G5 Monitor with my Intel Mac Mini

    Hello,
I have an iMac G5, and just received a new Mac Mini for my birthday. I don't have any display yet for the Mac Mini, so I would like to know if it's possible to link my Mac Mini to my iMac G5 so I can run the Mac Mini in my iMac Monitor ?
If there's a way to do it, can it be done even when I'm running Windows (PC) on my Mac Mini ?
    Thanks

    Hello,
Generally, no, that is not something that would work well. There is no video input on your iMac. So, you would have to use an adapter.
You can read a little bit about this here:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=3249369&#3249369
That discussion is regarding a XBox. But, the principle and options would be the same.
The Hybrid adapter that is discussed there would be the best option for you in terms of hardware solutions. But, you would need the appropriate cables to connect from the Mac Mini to the Elgato Hybrid and then to your PowerBook (some of which may come with the adapter).
As for a network and software solution, take a look at this discussion for a recommendation and description of a possible method:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=3053364&#3053364
    I hope this helps.

  • Possible to use iMac 27" as monitor for PPC Mac Mini (DVI)?

This question appeared on the support community, about 4 years ago, but the adapter mentioned as a solution is now discontinued.

I have an old PPC-based Mac Mini that I would like to connect to my new iMac 27", but my Mac Mini has DVI output and the iMac 27" has Mini DisplayPort input. Is this the only way to connect a PPC Mac Mini (or any DVI device) to the iMac 27"?

I am in the same exact situation, and would appreciate any suggestions!

  • Cannot see CCMS Monitor Templates - System is not configured

I just finished installing SAP Netweaver Trial, and I have been able to login using the SAP* and DDIC accounts.
I can see the standard tree via the SAP client GUI.
I am trying to take a look at the CCMS Monitor Sets, and I can see the standard collection of "Entire System", "Performance Overview", etc. all fine.
However, when I double-click to load any of the monitors, I see nothing inside.
    No sub-trees, nothing.
I enabled "Display error nodes" and see a node that says
"NSP   : System is not configured"
I have tried creating my own user, adding in profiles like SAP_ALL, S_A.System, etc.
I also notice everytime I access the CCMS Monitor Templates, there is an entry in the Syslog:
    Severity: Warning
    Process Type: D0
    Transaction Code: RZ20
    Client: 001
    User: DDIC
    Message ID: BYE
    Description:
Database: Invalid parameter ObjTooLar transferred to database interface
Please let me know if I am missing any components, or if there is something I need to do.
    Thank you.

    Thanks Sunny.
That thread did indeed helped me to resolve the issue.
However, the thread did not really provide clear instructions to complete newbies like me.
For those who also have the same issue, this is what I did:
    1. Execute RZ10 (Edit Profiles) via the SAP client GUI
    2. Click on the menu Utilities - Import profiles - Of active servers
    3. Edit the "Instance Profile" NSP_DVEBMGS00_{Your Computer Name}
Select Extended Maintenance, and select Change
    4. Change the following two parameters:
    alert/MONI_SEGM_SIZE from 0 to 60000000
    rdisp/autoabaptime from 0 to 300
    5. In the SAP MMC, right-click on NSP and select Restart
    6. After restarting, login and you should be able to see the CCMS Monitor Template nodes

  • Add a custom alert monitor set in Central Reports of NWA 2004s

    Hi,
I installed recently netweaver administrator 2004s to use central monitoring. I created a new CCMS monitor set with RZ20 and was hoping to see this set in the Monitoring -> Central Reports view set of the NWA (drop down box with all the Alert monitor sets defined in the CEN), but it wasn't there. Is there a way to add custom alert monitor sets created with RZ20 in the Central Reports "View Set" of the NWA ?
    Thx

  • Display CCMS Monitor in SolMan

    Dear Community,
is it possible to display an selfmade ccms monitor from a satalite system in the Solution Manager?
    Thanks for answers,
    Matthias

    Hi Matthias,
If you go to RZ20 and go into maintenance mode there is an option to transport the monitor set. So create a new transport, release it and import it into your Solution Manager.
As far as I know it is not possible to "source" it into the solution manager.
    Kind regards,
    Sjoerd Lubbers

  • System Monitoring and CCMS Monitors

In our production environment we have working CCMS Monitors set up thru RZ20.
However if I go to solution_manager->system monitoring->operations tab, there are no alerts displayed on the page. Does system monitoring use the same backend as CCMS Monitoring? I am a little bit confused on this. If we set up System Monitoring, will this duplicate the CCMS Monitors we've previously set up?

If you want to see alerts on Operation tab in solution_manager->Solution Monitoring->System Monitoring you first need to run "Setup System Monitoring" (link is just below tab Operation or run in from Operations Setup tab). Setup will not duplicate CCMS monitors. It will just mark which of the available alerts should be taken into account for solution_manager->Solution Monitoring->System Monitoring report.

  • RFC issue with TREX CCMS monitoring

    Hello,
I have a TREX 7.10 instance (running on a Windows Server) and a SAP Solution Manager System 7.01 (on Unix Server) which is used as central CCMS monitoring system.
I have configured CCMS Monitoring for TREX according to the pdf document that is attached to SAP note 897226 ('Monitoring TREX with CCMS. Alerting seems to work, the autoreaction method that I defined for e.g. unavailabitlity of TREX processes is triggered when I test it.
In SolMan system, transaction RZ21, agents for remote systems,  I see that the agent for the TREX instance is in status 'Online'.
But when I highlight this agent and click on the button 'Test Connection' I get  'Error when opening an RFC connection'.
In TA SM59 of SolMan system I am doing connection check for the two TCP/IP RFC destination related with that TREX instance
    N3STAT.<hostname>.<Nr>   and
    SAPCCMSR.<hostname>.<Nr>
For both I get the error 'program <hostname>.n3stat.<Nr> not registered' respectively 'program <hostname>.sapccmsr.<Nr> not registered'
I am a little bit confused how to fix this. Can somebody help ?

In the meantime I could solve the issue.
The solution is that the registration command on TREX host had wrong parameters.
I only have a pure TREX instance, no ABAP instance, no Java instance on the same host.
In this case you have to register your agent at central SolMan system this way:
    sapccmsr -R pf=
Don´t use the -j2ee parameter if you don´t have a java instance there.
