Possible bug found in Mac Os X Tiger 10.4.11 in conjuction with iPod Touch

Dears,
I think I've found a possible bug in Mac Os X version 10.4.11 in conjunction with iPod Touch.
When the iPod is connected during boot, my Bluetooth hardware fails to be detected. When I restart the portable without the iPod connected, my Bluetooth hardware is recognised & activated again. It is reproduceable.
1. Attach iPod Touch before starting the MacBook Pro
2. Boot the Macbook
3. Bluetooth hardware should be rendered inoperative
Restore functionality:
1. Detach the iPod Touch
2. Reboot the portable
3. Bluetooth hardware is restarted / recognised.

I use DVD decrypter in rip my DVD's to .vob, which is the same format the movie is on the disk
and then use Videora to convert to .mp4 with ipod touch codecs and high resolution
most end up being 900MB to 1.5GB

Is there any reason your OSX is not updated to the latest 10.6.7 and iTunes to 10.2.X? That may also help.

Possible to use time server with iPod touch?

Is is possible to have the time set on an iPod touch via a time server? Alternatively, to synch the time on the iPod with the time on a computer you use to synch the iPod?

Yes, if you move the iTunes Media Folder to the Time Capsule.
But.....if you move the iTune Media Folder to the Time Capsule.....how are you planning to back up this important data?
(You will lose everything in the Media Folder when.....not if....the Time Capsule has a problem and you do not have a backup copy.)
A much safer plan would be to keep the iTunes Media Folder on your Mac.....or add another hard drive connected to the Mac and move the Media Folder to that drive.
Then Time Machine will backup both your Mac and and hard drive. So, you have "originals" on one drive and backups on another.

I bought an ibook on my gf's mac but I cannot get it to sync to my ipod touch!!!

So I bought for like 20 pounds an ibook stupidy rather than from kindle app.
1) i cannot open the ibook on with calibre because it is locked! (restricted access - as it is a copyrighted work i guess - but i've paid for it!)
2) I cannot sync the ibook with my ipod touch with my gf's mac (music and photos sync fine!)
3) I thought the purchase would be linked to my email adress/Apple ID and not the mac.... I have three PCS at home (i live in a different country - france - to my gf -england-) but have no idea how to transfer the ibook from her mac to my PC. (i cannot transport my pcs)
How do i read the ibook???
(Either on my touch or my windows pcs)

1) Paid iBooks are copy-protected and can be read only on Apple's devices. The same applies to Kindle, Nook and Google Books.
2) Difficult to offer suggestions without knowing details; version of iOS on the iPod, version of iTunes, whether you've correctly selected books to be synching on the appropriate tab for your device, and whether this computer is the one you normally use to sync your iPod.
3) Your purchase is synched to the iTunes Store account under which it was purchased. Did you purchase using your own iTunes Store account, which would be tied to the French iTunes Store, or your girlfriend's iTunse Store account which is tied to the English iTunes Store?
Finally, you cannot read the book on a computer. Apple has yet to provide a reader for either Windows or Mac OS X.
If you can provide additional information about your situation and the problem, someone can probably offer suggestions.

Possible bug found in jndi

hi @ all,
i'm using jdk 1.5.0_04 which includes jndi already.
i figured out, that when i set the propertyjava.naming.ldap.version to a hashtable which i parse toInitialLdapContext as the environment jndi does not recognizes it. I took a look to the sources and foud that the ldap version is set fix at the constructor AFTER the environmental hashtable has been copied to the internal data.
is it possible that this is a bug or is there something i'm missing to know?

VSphere Port Mirror - Possible Bug Found

Something i came across to and thought could be worth while reporting it since i havent seen any reference to it elsewhere:
We've configured a few "source remote port mirror rules" for a few VMs, in a way that each VM had 3 vNics that were mirrored.
long story shot: one VM had one vNic that was E1000 and not VMXNET3 like all the others, each time i enabled the "source remote port mirror" rule for the E1000 vNic, all other port mirrors (from this VM and other VMs located on the same ESX) stopped working. problem was solved after i removed the vNic and created a new one, this time a VMXNET3 vNic.
didnt see any reference about E1000/VMXNET3 regarding vSphere Port Mirroring. New bug maybe?

Possible bug found+features request

While the fact Playbook has original pdf reader from Adobe makes me happy, the discovery of the feature-less program cooled very quickly my initial enthusiasm...
The reader crashes randomly when trying to navigate through larger files: 50+pages. Sometimes it takes just a flip of a couple pages to find myself dropped back to Playbook homescreen, sometimes just a bit longer. Without the proper navigation options it is plain PITA to try and find the last page before the crash.
Further on, please add the options to manually control the rotation of the pages. I'm finding myself often turning my head instead as the playbook will rotate the pages which are saved sideways.
Looking forward for update.

A drop down option asked if I wanted to click on iTunes share and I did. When I shut off my mac there was none of my downloaded music on my iPod Touch 4. It appears to only play while the mac is on, who wants that. Could someone help get this corrected.

Clicked on a drop down option asking if I wanted to use itune share I clicked on it and now my downloaded music is no longer on my ipod. I want my music back on my ipod as it was before, how do I do it ?

It says it is for iTunes 10, but the same steps apply to iTunes 11.
To turn off sharing:
Choose iTunes > Preferences, and click Sharing.
Deselect “Share my library on my local network.”

Solution found for my wireless issues with ipod touch!

I recently upgraded my IPOD software and wireless would connect but not internet: incorrect IP address, nothing under DNS...I called Apple and they told me to call my router company (Qwewst-actiontec) and ask how to get into my router settings online. I did and the Apple rep told me to disable my wep key and then forget the network on itouch and try again. It worked! Of course I couldn't leave it w/o security so I called Apple back-the nice rep gave me his direct extension originally. He said that the software upgrade probably went from allowing wep to requiring wpa. I went back into my router settings online and set up WPA. Now it all works!

Okay, so now I have read that you have to install a free app through the phone, not through the computer. I've done so and it looks like everything is good for now. Keeping my fingers crossed. My question now, is that if this is a common occurance with the 4.3.3 update, why did Apple imply that I needed to wipe my iPod clean when this was the much easier and less invasive answer?

The best way is to connect the two computers together by ethernet or firewire target disc mode and move the whole itunes folder from the old computer to the new. You can only sync an iPod touch to one computer for music, videos, movies and apps. You could, however, sync to the Mac for media content and the Windows system for contacts.

Best USB 2.0 Hub to use with iPods and Mac Mini 2009?

I am using my Mac Mini as my iTunes station, and I have five iPods
that are connected to my master iTunes Station.
Recently I needed to add a USB drive to add more space to the mini.
Along with a wireless keyboard ( that uses a USB transmuting dongle)
I am short two USB ports. Can anyone recommend a good USB hub
