Possible cache problem ftp scenario

we have the following scenario
ftp -> ftp
very simple, no integretation rep needed, interface -> none, namespace -> http://none
just pick up the file and put it on another server
strange thing is that the receiver uses for target directory the source directory of the sender to put the file
could this be a cache problem, we cleared the cache but the problem remains

Hi Michel,
Very strange problem indeed.. not convinced this is a cache problem.. have you checked the cache overview in the Integration Directory ?
If it is a cache problem, deleting, activating and recreating the ftp receiver could solve it.
Using another receiver Business System/Service will surely avoid a cache problem, as an object with a completely different key will be created.
Can you see the correct receiver channel being called in the Message Monitor ?

I have a Pag1.jsp with 2 buttons, a dropdown with a button, as well as a datatable with an action link. Everthing works fine; the buttons, action links and dropdown. The problem arises with the actionLink; on the remote jsp pages the user can hit a button which takes him back to page 1.jsp. HOWEVER, IF HE USES THE BROWSER'S BACK ARROW HE GOES BACK TO PAGE1.JSP, BUT NOW THE 2 BUTTONs NO LONGER DIRECT PROPERLY, BUT SEND HIM TO THE LAST PAGE THE ACTIONLINK DIRECTED HIM TO. I tried reproducing your problem with information provided by you , but was not able to reproduce. I was successful in bringing up the correct JSP pages on the click of buttons. The browsers back button takes me to the previous visited page and the button ,Action Links redirect me to the right JSP pages.

ATV gen2...possible caching problem

First off...I am using both aTV gen1 and aTV gen2 in my home off of an Airport Extreme (Dual-Band) with the aTV gen2 hooked up via Ethernet to the router.
Now, Netflix and Youtube, and streaming music and TV shows from iTunes works flawlessly. And when I start a Movie, it starts in 5 seconds whether chosen from iPhone Remote app or the aTV menu.
My issue is accessing the iTunes streamed movies from Hard Drive in the menu. Once I get to the genre screen and choose a genre, I get the Loading "...'s" Library with the spinning wheel for 5-15 minutes before I can see the list of movies. (Again, once selected, a movie takes 5 seconds to start)
I have zero skipping issues in Netflix or iTunes movie streaming.
I have tried this from a Mac and a PC with no difference. I even created a new Library on both and added a few movies at a time until it seemed to bog down. With no music or TV Shows in the test libraries, both machines seemed to bog down the genre screen after adding about 350 movies.
I think the removal of the HDD in aTV gen2 is to blame as Apple may not have a large enough cache set on the 8GB Flash RAM to accommodate this. I believe the aTV is loading all the Movie artwork each time a genre is selected and that is taking the wait time. Maybe an update to expand the cache to 1GB of the space would fix this?
Rebooting and restoring has done nothing and I have removed all firewalls at this point for troubleshooting. Mac is running 10.6.4 and PC is running Win7 64bit Ultimate both with iTunes 10.0.1.
Any other suggestions out there?

FTP-FTP scenario...problem with FCC

Iam doing a FTP to FTP scenario.I have specified the following parameters-
source.fieldNames
source.fieldSeparator -> ;
source.endSeparator ->'nl'
ignoreRecordsetName
source.fieldContentFormatting->nothing
source.missingLastfields->add
Target.fieldFixedLengths
Target.fixedLengthTooShortHandling ->Cut
Target.fieldSeparator -> ;
Target.endSeparator ->'nl'
There are 2 fields in source file that has blank values,so the source file is like
In the target file, the fields upto those fields with blank values are coming...but fields from those blank values are missing.so the output file looks like this.
The fields with blank values has lengths 50,50.
I want all the fields in output file .Every thing is direct mapping.
Please suggest something that will do this.Its urgent.

From sender side if you get blank value then that particular node will not be generated on target side XML structure in mapping. and you have used Target.fixedLengthTooShortHandling ->Cut so the further fields are not considerd properly.
Can you plesae add mapWithDefault api while mapping. Double click on it and pass blank value. This will create the Blank node on target side.
Source --> mapWithDefault ( [] ) --> Target

Problem with Scenario tRFC - XI - File

Hello,
Can you tell me if it is possible to implement the scenario
tRFC -> XI -> File Adapter
without using a sync-async bridge.
I am having a hard time implementing this scenario.
My problem is that I am not able to see the messages in transaction SXMB_MONI in XI.
Nevertheless, I am able to see the messages on transaction SM58 in the sending system with the following error message
com.sap.aii.af.rfc.afcommunication.RfcAFWException: alternativeServiceIde
I know that this message is truncated but I don't know the missing part.
What I have done is:
Developed a simple report that calls a RFC with the addition in background task (so it is tRFC).
Created a RFC Destination of type T (TCP/IP)
registration
same program id that I have configured in my RFC Sender Adapter (case-sensitive)
also with the aplication server's gateway and gateway service.
On the XI Side I have created the "usual" objects:
For the receiver side (file adapater) I have created
Data Types,
Message Types,
Message Interfaces
+
Message Mapping
Interface Mapping
On the sender side I have used the imported RFC structure.
Can anyone please help.

So I think Udo got my problem rigth. That's why I am using the addition 'IN BACKGROUND TASK' to call my RFC FM.
I tested the RFC DESTINATION and it is working fine.
My doubt was if I could configure a async scenario for
RFC->XI->File adapter...
You have answered my question... I know now that it is possible to configure the scenario I am configuring...
So now what I have to do is figure out why it is not working but that is probably due to a malfunctioning configuration.
I am closing this message and if I had other problems I will post them later...

ADF cache problem

Hello,
I'm developing a web application with an ADF tree accessing to a Content DB repository. When I deploy the application and navigate to the tree everything look fine. The problem occurs, when the content of the repository changed outside of the web application (e.g. a file will be deleted with Oracle drive), the tree doesn't display the changes. The only way to get the right state of the tree, clear the browser cache and reload the page again. In my opinion it looks like a caching problem. Putting the following meta information in the html header also failed!

<meta http-equiv="expires" content="0"/>
<meta http-equiv="cache-control" content="no-cache"/>
Is there a possibility to disable the caching of such ADF components?

Touchscreen TV app slows down - caching problem?

We have created an interactive Touchscreen using flash CS4 - http://www.cadstudio.co.nz/client_hlc/home.swf
The Touchscreen is already in the showroom.
Every morning it is restarted.
By midday the whole application slows down to the point were it becomes very slow.
I presume this is a caching problem.
In order to resolve this we close down IE and restart it (playing the SWF file through Internet Explore on full screen mode).
Once it has restarted it plays at the correct speed.
Does any one know of a solution to this problem?
I have thought about setting up windows 7 to reboot IE and have the flash file restart every few hours however a client may be navigating through the
display when it reboots it self. I would prefer to avoid this if possible.

The Touchscreen TV is offsite however i will try and monitor it with that application you sent through.
I have just read that using event listeners may cause the problem.

Possible conflict/problem if using edk 5.2.0 with plumtree portal 5-0-3 and collaboration v4.0.1?

We are using plumtree portal v5-0-3 and collaboration v-4.0.1. I have to create a portlet where users can use it to submit a request for a collaboration project to be created. Searching through Plumtree Developer Center, there are documents that show me how to create a collaboration project using edk library. The edk that comes with plumtree portal v5-0-3 doesn't contain the api(s) that I need (for example, com.plumtree.remote.prc.collaboration.project.*). However, the edk 5.2.0 does contain these api(s).
Are there any possible conflicts/problems if I use the edk 5.2.0 with our existing plumtree portal v5-0-3 and collaboration v4.0.1? If there are, is there any other way that I could get to these api(s) somehow to create collaboration projects?

Is there any api or way that I could use to create a collaboration project without using the Project Explorer? In our scenario, after a user uses the portlet that I describe earlier in the original disscussion message to request the creation of a project, an admin will take a look at the request and click a button to have the project created. This button will somehow trigger some scripts or codes instead of the admin using the Project Explorer to create the project.

Caching problem w/ primary-foreign key mapping

I have seen this a couple of times now. It is not consistent enough to
create a simple reproducible test case, so I will have to describe it to you
with an example and hope you can track it down. It only occurs when caching
is enabled.
Here are the classes:

Each class uses application identity using static nested Id classes: C1.Id
and C2.Id. What is unusual is that the same value is used for both
instances:

c2.c1 = c1;
This all works fine using optimistic transactions with caching disabled.
Although the integer values are the same, the oids are unique because each
class defines its own unique oid class.

The first thing that I think of whenever I see a problem like this is
that the equals() and hashCode() methods of your application identity
classes are not correct. Can you check them to ensure that they are
written in accordance to the guidelines at:

If that doesn't help address the problem, can you post the code for your
application identity classes so we can double-check, and we will try to
determine what might be causing the problem.

I am facing a caching problem in the Web-Application that I've developed using Java/JSP/Servlet.
Problem Description: In this application when a hyperlink is clicked it is supposed to go the Handling Servlet and then servlet will fetch the data (using DAO layer) and will store in the session. After this the servlet will forward the request to the view JSP to present the data. The JSP access the object stored in the session and displays the data.
However, when the link is clicked second time then the request is not received by our servlet and the cached(prev data) page is shown. If we refresh the page then request come to the servlet and we get correct data. But as you will also agree that we don't want the users to refresh the page again and again to get the updated data.
We've included these lines in JSPs also but it does no good:

However, when the link is clicked second time then the request is not received by our servlet Impossible mate.. can you show your code. You sure there are no javascript errors ?
Why dont you just remove your object from the session after displaying the data from it and see if your page "automatically" hits the servlet when the link is clicked.

Bridge update does not fix caching problems.

The 5.0.1.23 update for Bridge CS6 does NOT fix the problem of constantly re-caching layered TIF files.
I originaly reported the problem here on May 16, 2012.

At that time I also submitted a bug report via photoshop.com, and received an e-mail response from Adobe support confirming the problem had been replicated in their lab and promising a fix in the next update.
I've since tracked several other reports of this bug and related cache problems.
I assume that, at best, we will have to wait another 6 months or more for the next update. How can I assure this bug will be addressed?

Thank you for this bit of information. Maybe it means I can stop the deactivations/uninstall/reinstall/reactivate cycle to try yet another solution. And hopefully, this will stop the re-caching problem with other than tif files.

Caching problem in Chrome and Firefox

Hey folks,
I ran into a weird problem. I created a video player based on the Strobe Media Playback. I added a couple of plugins. This player is used to watch progressive download FLV files.
I ran into the following issue. I watch part of a video. I select another one. Then I select the previous one again. Only the cached portion of the first video is shown. The entire video will not be downloaded again from the server, but only the portion already cached on the client.
This problem is really bad in Chrome. When I restart FF, I can watch the entire video. Not in Chrome. The only way to solve this in Chrome is to clear the cache.
Any ideas?

Follow up. I made a quick fix. I added a random number to the FLV url to force a redownload from the server, but this quite a dirty fix. I would rather have a restart/continuation of the download if the file was only partially downloaded.

Hi Silviu,
the reason why it works now is because I uploaded a modified version. I append "?<random number> to the URL. That prevents caching problems because the browser hasn't got the version cached. But I still report it as a bug.

Caching problem of servlet

We are facing this problem of caching within our project. The project aims to generate a html code to pick up some rich media ads details at random and displaying on the html file where the generated code is expected to be pasted. We developed two servlets, one which extracts the ads from the database randomly and then depanding on the ad type it calls the other servlet as src of an iframe, which in turn puts all code for displaying the rich media ads. The script which we are generating for the user to paste onto their pages is:

I called the getadservlet from javascript mentioned above and put debugging info in both the servlets, now for every refresh we do on the html side, we are getting a different random bannercode in adservlet but in richmedia when we print the bannercode received in querystring it is taking an older value which was displayed some time back and keeps on doing this for quiet a long time, making it look like some caching problem of RichMediaServlet.
Instead when we tried to put the same html <script> code into another servlet's doGet, everything seems to be working fine.
i have also used the following code to prevent the caching on both the setvlets

response.setHeader("Pragma", "no-cache");
response.setDateHeader("Last-modified", currentTime);

i think the caching is being in the browser, with the iframe.
You should try passing a random param to the servlet in the iframe URL, something like:
var a = Math.random() * 10000000; //for example

Caching problem with Internet Explorer

Hi,
users of an ApEx application I'm working on are reporting that when they're deleting an uploaded file from one of the pages in the application (using Internet Explorer), the link to the file remains. This is however not an issue in FireFox, and after some research I found out that this is a caching problem in IE. It can be avoided by making IE check for newer versions of stored pages every time a page is visited, but it is clearly not an option to ask all our users to do this. I also learned that it can be fixed by randomizing the file URL every time the page is loaded, but I don't know how to randomize a URL, nor how to make it still point to the uploaded file.. Any help would be appreciated!

1. I will install FTP Server A on Sender File System.
2. I will install FTP Server B on Receiver File System.
3. I will open the port for FTP request -- Port 21
4. I will open the port for FTP response -- Port 21
5. I will provide all authrozaitions
