Possible conflicts between CopyPaste, Spell Checker & TypeIt4me.

Question

When initiated at startup these three applications deal with similar functions: spelling and text clippings. As a retired home user my primary use of my Mac is to record all our financial activities on Quicken: Cash, Checking, Credit cards, Savings and Vanguard Voyager Select services. I also use Mail for communication and response. Periodically computer activity slows down and I’m wondering if any of these three applications are essentially necessary? Any meaningful suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You properly answered my question but offered no preferred choice. (I'd sort of like one.)
Stick with the one you use most frequently.
Currently my computer is running at a reasonably normal rate. When it's slow, I have one of two corrective options:
Disk Utility 11.1 “Repair Disk Permissions”
Disk Warrior 4.2 "Rebuild"
These are not tools you should need to use often, and they are not the cure for the kind of slowdown you described earlier. In particular, repairing permissions won't affect the problem at all, and the kind of directory damage DiskWarrior fixes would result in far worse than occasional slowdowns.
Process Name: kernal_task
Is that process a normal reaction? The Real an Virtual Memory seem high to me. As a "root," I'm probably stuck with it it. If not, how should I correct it?
Don't mess with the kernel task. That looks normal.
I suppose the follow-up is to ask for more specific information about these slowdowns. Describe in better detail what happens during one.
Given your described usage, I doubt there's a problem with this, but just to rule it out: How much free disk space do you have? Click on your hard drive's icon and do a Command-I get info, and note the numbers for capacity and available.
