Possible Export QT 29.97fps workaround

Exporting from Keynote as 29.97 doesn't work when you specify that frame rate. KN produces its own off-standard frame rates that can be quite different from the one expected. There doesn't seem to be an internal way to have it respect 29.97fps or any exact specified rate.
This may not be an issue unless the movie is destined for DVD or tape.
Workaround (requires Quicktime Player Pro or FCP or Compressor):
Export UNCOMPRESSED QUICKTIME from Keynote with settings to suit - In my case, destined for DV: NTSC 29.97, 720x480.
There doesn't seem to be a way to change default settings, so each export has to be set manually to the desired spec.
Could try Animation or other high quality codec if drive space is an issue.
Perhaps could try Apple lossless.
This will yield correctly sized image, but with odd frame rate i.e. a fraction below or above 29.97.
Open the uncompressed file with QT Player Pro.
Inspector will show that it's an odd frame rate, but the image is excellent quality (best you can get).
If you don't have hardware to play real time, just scrub through to check image quality.
Now export from Player Pro as QT movie -Conversion to desired format i.e. ntsc dv, and specify 29.97 frame rate.
The movie should now be standard frame rate for the specified codec.
I recommend uncompressed initial export to minimize any degradation due to interpolating or reprocessing. I don't know how the frames are adjusted to proper timing …perhaps the image frames are not affected at all and the timebase is adjusted. Dunno. Uncompressed video of course requires lots of drive space. However, once the conversion is made to the specified frame rate in the desired compressed format, the uncompressed clip can be trashed.
More:
It appears that QT Player Pro will not consistently convert all movies to the proper frame rate. One of mine ended up slightly more than 29.97 but played ok in a FCP timeline set for DV specs.
I started exporting the uncompressed version from a Final Cut Pro timeline and results are correct so far with several movies.
Could do the same with Compressor.
This program clearly wasn't intended to support standard video production time bases, or any other base as far as I can figure. I suspect that given all the Keynote audio sync problems reported, the core cause is likely a horribly conceived and implemented timebase.

Hi-
OK, 1080i HDV 29.97fps IS the correct format for editing HDV. When HDV is described as 1080 60i it means; This video is +1080 pixels tall, 60 interlaced (fields per second.)+ And as we all know, there *are 2 interlaced fields per frame of video*. In NTSC this is not an even 30 fps because the TV set needs time to rescan to the top of the picture to start the next field (this is called the vertical interval) so the actual frame rate is 29.97 frames per second. This is correct and standard.
So if you are capturing HDV 1080 60i video the correct setting is 1080 29.97fps.
And if you are trying to export your video at 60 FRAMES per second (120 FIELDS per second) then the clip you export will be half as long in duration as it is supposed to be, because you have doubled the correct frame rate of 30 fps (NTSC 29.97) to 60 frames per second. That means it will run twice as fast as it should.
If you are doing any exporting, you need to export at the correct frame rate (same as source which in this case is 29.97 FRAMES per second.
I hope this helps.

  • Highest possible export quality.

I have a Sony HDR-HC1 and would like to be able to export the highest quality possible to a QT file that can be burned to a CD or DVD so others can play the file on their Macs or PC’s.
Will someone help me with what settings I should use in the export process to get the highest quality from my HD footage?
    Thanks in advance.
    Ken

I have a sony hdr-sr1 and export the file in the highest resolution possible. Understand the HD from the camera is 1920x1080. The DVD will only make it in 480I. Obviously the better the input resolution the better the DVD will be. Hopefully Apple will support Blu Ray and we will be able to make true High Def discs using that media.

  • Possible exporting help for a old mac...

    Hi, me again.
Trying to find a way to burn my 1 hour 30 movie to disk. I've found out that Final Cut Express cannot burn to disk, and to top it off, my copy (that came with my PowerPC Mac) of IDVD won't work either as i don't have a superdrive. Great!
I need to burn this movie to disk to be able to watch on dvd players.
Would it work, if i export the movie as a quicktime movie, transfer it to my PC and burn it on a program such as Premier Elements? Or would the file be the wrong format to play on such devices?
    Many thanks.

The only thing that's playable on a DVD player is MPEG-2. FCE does not export MPEG-2. Usually the authoring application encodes the video to the correct format. That's what iDVD does. If you're going to take it to Premiere Elements on a PC to do the encoding and burning to DV you have to tell us what format you're working in.

  • Best possible export settings for XDCAM HD graded and minor vfx footage?

    Hey all,
i know this question seems to be getting the hall of fame mark, but i cant figure out the best settings to export my HD footage, from premier, i usually mpeg2 the sequence and i get a great picture and sounds and even a reasonable filesize, but the same settings dont seem to work with after effects, is it something really lame that i'm not looking properly or its more than that, please help me out here.
    Thanks

You should never use a lossy/compressed file format for intermediate files. The more times you introduce compression into the mix, the lower your final footage quality will  be. Also, After Effects (especially earlier versions) doesn't play well with codecs that use interframe compression (such as MPEG). To be honest, it would be difficult for you to pick a worse thing to do.
If you're using After Effects CS5, I would just suggest importing your Premiere sequence into After Effects. It'll come in as a composition with the original footage with your edit. It will give you the most flexibility and you won't have to worry about generational data loss with exporting various codecs.
However, if you've got an earlier version of AE or if some of the effects and things you've applied in Premiere don't come over in an import very well, you will want to find a workable intermediate codec. You want it to be lossless to maintain quality, but a decent file size would be nice too. I have had good success using Quicktime with the PNG codec (not a PNG sequence). Others may have other suggestions, but that seems to work for me.

  • LSCompatibility plug-in error when exporting to EXCEL partial workaround

hey guys. i had a big project at work today that i needed to turn in and when i went to export my file to excel it just kept dying out on me. anyway, i looked at my spreadsheet and decided to remove all the drop down menus and just replace them with the answers. it worked right away! so, obviously we shouldn't need to do this. but for now, use it, it works.

I'm really surprised because here, I may export flawlessly documents with Pop-up Menu items to Excel.
Of course I get the alert explaining that this kind of item is not recognised by XL and that they will be replaced by the values of the cells.
May I know the number of Pop-up Menu cells in your document?
Maybe there is a limit to the number of "problematic" cells.

  • Possible: Exporting Lightroom JPEGs without recompression?

I am a new user of Adobe Photoshop Lightroom. I am using it to manage a library of around 600 photos I received as JPEGs from a photographer. I am annotating each photo with keywords. Now, I would like to export these, with the keywords embedded in each JPEG file, which the Export command does. However, I would like to do so in a way that doesn't let Lightroom re-compress the images to new JPEGs.
I found that, if I choose a quality of 100, Lightroom re-encodes all images with minimal compression, blowing up the file size over the originals, instead of simply makes copies of the originals without re-encoding. All I want to have is a collection of all image files with the keywords in each file, instead of only in Lightroom's database.
    Dominik Hoffmann

I myself am on Mac OS X. Files managed by Lightroom that had their metadata embedded in XMP format do not reveal this information when brought into iPhoto. However, I found the $15 utility called PictureSync
intended for uploading whole libraries of images to Flickr etc., which can also do a directory-to-directory "export" or "upload," where XMP keywords are turned into, what I guess are IPTC tags. When imported into iPhoto after that step, the keywords are all there. I haven't checked into other bits of XMP metadata, but the keywords are all I need for the time being.
Thank you all very much for your contribution to this discussion!

  • Exporting project failures, troubleshooting, workarounds?

Hello: I have a 2hour and 30 min project I've spent months working on. Now, as I try to export the film, it takes around 6-8 hours to export, and it fails in the last 15-20 minutes, I get a -2125 error, project cannot be published. Of course, I've opened up a support ticket and have been working with Apple directly. After attempting numerous things, like adjusting power settings, checking system resources, etc, it appears as though there might a 'corrupt' film clip or something causing the issue. The -2125 doesn't appear to mean anything, like the project is too big, just means the export failed from what I can gather.
My project is the collaboration of 7 people from all walks of life, using very different cameras. Non are high definition. This is all standard definition stuff. There are two guys who have contributed film, and the quality is really poor. In some recent test exports of just their stuff, Medium 640 x 360 is the highest resolution output their stuff is allowed to export to...So, since I'm trying to export my entire 2 hour and 30 min project with their stuff included as a Large or 960 x 540, perhaps that is why it fails? My first thought is, you would think iMovie would flag or otherwise tell you that you have some sort of resolution issue with some of your clips, or not allow me to select "large" export file size at all if some of the content is only 'medium' at best when looked at individually. Any feedback on this point would be appreciated.
Furthermore, Apple rocks in usability. Video, codecs, encoding, compression, resolution....I mean, thats why I run a Mac and choose iMovie...figure that stuff out on the backend for me!!! I mean, if certain clips are grainy and low resolution, fine.....but to fail the export of the entire project over it is really causing me some grief.
One option I suppose it to attempt to export to Final Cut and hire a Final Cut person ( or give myself on the Final Cut Lite or whatever its called) and hope Final Cut has more professional ways of handling resolution/quality/compatibility issues. Very frustrated that I've completed my project, only to find out it won't export in anything except in small/tiny version of the film. It would make logical sense that the lower quality stuff could just be mashed in and made to work at lesser visual quality, not fail the entire export process.

hi there, in advise sorry for my bad english.
I made the big change PC->MAC about 1 month ago.
Coming back from my holydays i want to create a film with my 500 vacancies pictures, with my surprise i done the project in few minutes with iphoto, after i import all the project in imovie to put some text, some music and some movies.
All done ok but when i start to export the project into a movie i start to lose my mind.
I need to see my movie on my tv also, than i cant play .mov on my samsung, i need hd quality (1920x1080) render to fill good the tv resolution.
All mpeg-4 codec i select going to crash after 40min about of render, this appen from iphoto and imovie too, i've done good only a .mov that i can play only with quicktime, 13gb for 50mins o.O
All render i've done spend about 4hours of render for that 50mins with no standard codec for my tv.
I try to install Fotomagico 3.5.1, this program work fine, and the render done in 40minutes about (this is great like my old pc 1:1 rathio) but with surprise the movie is done with black screen and the music, after i can see on known issue this text:
    Export Movies with black video
Macintosh computers with a Radeon 7500 graphics card cannot be used to export slideshows to a QuickTime movie. This is a problem in the driver of the graphics card. Unfortunately Boinx Softwarre cannot do anything about this, so your only option is to upgrade to a newer computer.
all the 7500 (and the 7600 i guess)series are not supported (omg 50% of the mac), and i dont think i can buy one newer than mine.
At the end i try to install final cut pro 7 with a plugin that import fotomagico slideshows, all done ok, i put the project in the render and when start progress bar saw me 10hours left.
    Now the questions are:
Why with all this programs (iphoto, imovie, fotomagico and final cut) the processor work 30%-50%?
Why with this big processor i must wait hours for the render when on my old pc i done all this work in about 1hour.
I'm very disappointed from all of this, for now i spent 2179euros for great piece to show on my desk.

  • Exported MPEG2 Audio Won't Play in Quicktime - is there a workaround?

Just completed my first video edit in Premiere Elements.   Working with 720p HD footage from a Sony Cybershot.    Tried various preset outputs, HD 720p 25, among others.   In all cases, picture looked good but audio did not play back.   Just discovered after some searching that Quicktime will not playback MPEG2 audio without a $20 add on.  That's not going to break my bank, but do I really need it?   Is there a workaround for this?   Can I export in Dolby Digital?   My goal is simply to have a finished project that is the most universally playable as possible.  Will eventually archive on tape and DVD.   Obviously, want to maintain the best sound as possible.

Instead of using Apple's QuickTime Player, I would suggest looking into another player, such as VLC Player, or MediaPlayer Classic HC, both of which are free, and both of which have a very full set of CODEC's included in them.
For the best possible Audio, it would be best to choose PCM/WAV as the Audio CODEC. This is almost totally universal, and unlike all MPEG Audio (including AC3), is uncompressed. The file will be a bit larger (Audio does not take up as much space, as does the Video), but should give better quality, and not require additional CODEC's for users to play the file w/ Audio. This might not be an option in all possible Export/Share schemes.
For either PCM/WAV, or AC3 Audio, this will be set from the Audio Tab in the Export/Share settings. Remember setting the Encoding for the Audio might not be available in all formats, so just check that Audio Tab in the settings dialog screen (usually under Advanced).
As for DD Audio, you can set the Audio Encoding to AC3, wich is Dolby Digital, but that option might not be available with all possible Export/Share formats, so it gets down to an "it depends." This will be stereo (2-channel) Audio.
PrE cannot Encode to DD 5.1 SS (6-channel), as it lacks that Encoder. Even PrPro needs the Minnetonka Audio SurCode Encoder plug-in (US$300 option) to do DD 5.1 SS Export.
    Good luck,

  • Is it possible to restrict the available export formats in InfoView?

    Hi all,
I uploaded some reports to Crystal Reports Server 2008. For most of them the user should be able to export them to CSV when viewing them in InfoView. For some reports this does not work correctly because they contain embedded subreports, cross tables etc., which can not be exported to CSV. Is it possible to remove the CSV format from the list of possible export formats for those reports?
Alternatively, is it possible to insert some hint into the CSV export like "Not all data contained due to export restrictions"?
    Thanks for infos
    Joern

    HI,
you will  able to disable the group tree icon panel when the crystal report opened. to do this, follow the steps mentioned below.
    1. Go to your BO installation folder and then tomcat folder and then choose the CrystalReports web application.
    C:\Program Files\Business Objects\Tomcat55\webapps\CrystalReports
Now change the web.xml of the this web app and insert a context parameter
<!-- Added to remove group tree panel shown as default -->
    <context-param>
    <param-name>viewrpt.groupTreeHide</param-name>
    <param-value>true</param-value>
    </context-param>
Restart your tomcat, or restart crystal report web app from tomcat manager.
you can remove or add or disable the group tree icon as per your requirement.
Let me know if this works,

  • CSV Export - Foreign Character Problem

    Hi,
We have created a report which queries records from various countries. The problem we are having is with foreign characters (eg: ü, ß, Ö, ä etc). These characters are being displayed correctly in the browser however when we export to Excel (CSV) file they get turned into something like (¼, ¤, ¶, ƒ).
Could someone please explain why this might be happening and if possible suggest a fix or workaround?
    Many thanks,
    Richard.

    Hi,
I've been looking into this problem a bit further and it appears that all of the foreign characters are being correctly written to the .CSV file during the export. The problem is when Excel tries to open the .CSV file. I'm guessing that my characters don't fall into the .CSV's UTF-8 format, therefore Excel swaps them with other characters.
If you're interested here is my work around to this problem:
    1) Open the .CSV file in Notepad
    2) Select All then Copy
    3) Paste into blank Excel document
    4) Highlight Column A and select Data -> Text to Columns
    5) Select Delimited then make sure only Comma is ticked
    6) Click Finish
-- My original characters are now intact.
    7) Finally save as .XLS
    Regards,
    Richard.

  • Can a Page with a web part, getting data from a form Library view, be exported to EXCEL?

Certain data in a form Library is limited to a selected group of people (say Director's Group).
I have created a Director's view in the Form library.
Then created a Director's page with a web part connecting that Director's view to get the desired data.
Then I have hidden the view, since form library can have contribute permission to all the users.
Permissions to that Director's page is given to only Director's Group.
However, Director's Group would like to export the data to MS EXCEL.  Is it possible?
If not, any workaround using OOB functionalities?

  • SWF Export, no font showing in Acrobat and zoom border problem (Acrobat & Reader) - Indesign CS6

    Hi Everyone,
If anyone could help me on this that would be great, I've spent hours on the forums and manuals to no avail.
I'm making an interactive PDF brochure in Indesign for one of our new products and I'm having issues (actual or perceived??!!) with the SWF export and PDF creation.  I'm placing animations and video in the INDD, exporting it as an SWF (with the text option as Flash Classic Text) and then opening the SWF (not importing to a word doc or anything, just opening the SWF) with Acrobat using the advanced options to import the video resources and to enable the content when the page is opened.  I then save the file as a PDF.  In the PDF everything works as it should, the animations, the buttons, the video plays and so on.  Great.. hmm not quite.
The trouble I am having is that all the content of the SWF when viewed in Acrobat seems to be getting rasterised/flattened - is this correct?  After the SWF is opened, Acrobat indicates no fonts in the fonts tab in the document properties so when the SWF is zoomed in Acrobat, or the saved PDF in Reader, the font gets pixelated and the document is not searchable/text can not be highlighted.  The images are not selectable either - it is as if the entire page has been flattened to one image.  Is there a way to stop this so that the SWF opened with Acrobat retains the font and individual images like a normal PDF?  Do I have to open the SWF in Flash first to set some parameters or something?  Is there something I am doing wrong when exprting the SWF from Indesign?  I think I have tried about every possible export combination.  When I open the .HMTL (exported at the same time as the SWF from Indesign) in a browser, the same happens.  All the animations work but the text appears to be rasterised/flattened/not searchable.  Sorry if I'm not using the correct terminology.
I have tried importing the SWF back into another new INDD and exporting that as an interactive PDF but then the video does not work.  I suppose I could try exporting all the individual animations as SWFs, importing them all and trying to get them to work with the video but I can see that will take quite some time and does not seem to be a guaranteed solution from what I have read on the forums - video playback being the issue.
Another problem is that when the SWF, or saved PDF, is zoomed in Acrobat/Reader between approx 150% and 210% a thick white border appears in the document and the content is squashed into the middle creating a slightly pixelated and narrow page.  When I zoom out from the page I get a small white line on the right hand border at around 70% zoom.  Please see images.  Does anyone have any idea why this is happening and what I can do to fix it?
On another, sort of related topic, my timing panel went blank yesterday and was not showing any animations in documents that it had been used to order and synch animations on page load as well as new documents.  The panel was blank.  I updated to V8.0.1 and the panel sprang back into life - hope that helps anyone else finding the same problem.
I am not very familiar with Indesign/Acrobat/Flash so I guess all the above could be what I'm doing or I could be asking  really dumb questions - apologies from a newbie.
    Best,
    Emily

    Hi All,
I have now pretty much solved all the issues by creating the SWF in Flash rather than Indesign.  I would advise anyone looking to create an interative PDF with animation and interactivity to go with Flash from the start.  While Flash is a little more involved to create the same effects as Indesign, the extra time taken will ensure a more controllable and better looking PDF in terms of text quality, scalability and so on.  Plus you will not spend days trying to get video to work along side imported SWF etc in Indesign.  One of the best controls in Flash is being able to set the stage.scaleMode for the document so the PDF still looks crisp when zooming, no white borders etc.  So, create the .fla, export to .SWF, open the .SWF with Acrobat, modify the advanced settings to enable start on page load and save as a PDF.  If you don't know Flash, I didn't a couple of days ago, watch a couple of tutorials on Youtube.. buttons, tweens, embedding video and you'll be ready.  Don't be put off by ActionScript, there are really handy Code Snippets in CS6 that do all the heavy lifting for you.
    Sorry Indesign!
    Best,
    Em

  • How can I export a Oracle DB table or a Query Result to an mdb (MS Access) File ?

    Hi,
I would like to export a particular table or a particular data subset (result from a SQL query) to a MDB file, I tried with Oracle SQL Developer but I cannot see mdb as a possible export option.
How can I do to export data to a mdb file ? I'm currently using SQL Developer on GNU/Linux, can you suggest me a link or a tool to do such things ?
I consider an acceptable solution also to use SQL Developer to export data in a certain format and then use another software to open that format and create an mdb. What do you suggest ?

Open the (an) MS Access database and:
    1) Click on File -> Link tables -> Select ODBC Database(s)
    2) On popup window select (or create new) "Machine Data Source" -> Oracle Driver -> Select the TNS alias (service name)
