Possible fake EP6

Hello,
Broke the headphones that came with my Zen Micro (**bleep** thing splits in two if the cord gets caught). Bought a set of Creative EP-630 headphones. After wrestling to get the 'small' rubber thingy on (shut up), I connected it, and found that while it's VERY good on bass, it's rather lacking in treble. Doesn't matter the music type or equalizer setting. Is this just a trait of these headphones, or do I have possible low-quality fakes?
They have the Creative 'A' on them, same jack type, but many mentioned a "J" cable design -- mine doesn't have that. both cables are the same length, forming a Y-shape instead.

Actually, because I'm a dumbass, and seeing them being sold only 90 minutes away, I bought them off eBay.
I took several pictures, take a look.
The cord feels very rubbery, but the 'small' insert makes a clicking noise in my ear when I adjust it, like someone else had mentioned.

Actually, here's the auction:

Oh my god. Rosemary, that link there WILL be clicked by someone, at least by a webspider... So get ready to get your password reset...
Anyway, if it's from a legit email address, it's legit. If you didn't ask for a password reset (even though you're going to get it anyway, unless a moderator removes the link), just ignore the email. I myself have received a couple of such emails. Sometimes people mistype their email address. Other times they do that just to mess with people... Not really relevant if you didn't ask for it. Alas, ''no email'' is relevant if you don't want it.

  • Uninstall Adobe Flash (again) after possible fake Flash installer

Was it a fake Adobe Flash installer that wanted me to install Yahoo, ZipCloud, and MacKeeper? I deselected all of these choices and refused to type my admin credentials and bailed on the installation. Was this malware and not the official installer from Adobe? Seemed unlike past Adobe updates. Apparently there have been 3 recent flaws exposed in Flash and Apple has blocked existing versions. So I'm done with Flash (again). I periodically get disgusted with Flash and remove it. Hopefully, this time I can avoid the things that require it and keep it off my Mac. I was getting really tired of being prompted to "trust Flash" on every website, and now this.

This can happen if adware is installed without your knowledge.
    1. Use  free  AdwareMedic to remove adware

  • EP6 : Store portal roles in AD or LDAP ?

    Hi all ,
in EP5 you could store portal roles in an external AD ,using a AD schema extension . I don't see any docs about this in EP6 ...is it possible in EP6 ?
If not is it possible to store that info in a LDAP directory ?
    Regards
    Daniel

    Hi Daniel,
The portal roles are stored in the portal database starting with EP6.  This provides companies greater flexibility--as most customers did not want to extend their corporate LDAP schemas so they ended up creating a new directory server specifically for EP5.  With EP6 they can perform authentication directly against their corporate data store without the extra overhead and mgmt on the directory server.
If I were you, I would create the roles in the portal and then assign Active Directory groups to these roles.  You then get the best of both worlds;).  Users are assigned to groups in the AD, but roles are created in the portal.
    Hope this helps.

  • Fake HS-81 Headset

Has anyone run into fake HS-81 headsets? These are the Sennheiser/Nokia behind the neck headsets.
I recently purchased what appeared to be a sealed box HS-81 and it did not have the warranty pamphlet, nor did it have the 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter that had been packed in my previous HS-81 purchase.  These also seem to fit better than the ones I mislaid, another clue that they might not be the "real deal".
    They arrived in this packaging
I was replacing a set I mislaid while on holiday that had come in a clear plastic top clamshell with a blue plastic bottom.
If fake HS-81 are about what are the tells? Are there overt physical signs that stand out?
    3390 - 6103b - 6133 - 6290 - 6301b - N78-3 - 5610d-2b XpressMusic - 5800d-1b XpressMusic, N900 RX-51, N8-00, C7 Astound, 808 Pureview, Lumia 1020.
Nicer phones and still no one calls me!

    Hi,
I think I have the same suspect product. No warranty card, no 3.5mm converter and at a price that was too good to be true.
As you've also owned genuine HS-81s I'd be interested to know how you think the possible fakes compare, soundwise, to the real deal...

  • Fake Java Update Crashes Illustrator in CS6

Normally a very cautious fellow, but albeit in a rush to finish a deadline yesterday,  I opened my Adobe Illustrator app  and  a pop-up appeared that looked like a genuine notice from Java to update my software. Erroneously thinking it was something the app needed (because I recently updated to Maverick on my Mac) I clicked to get it out of the way. Illustrator crashed almost immediately. I spent hours trying to fix it. Even re-installing Illustrator did not help. Finally, I checked my Illustrator plug-ins folder and sure enough—there was an innocent looking plug-in called "SubScribe.aip." I trashed it and Illustrator started right up. Be aware my fellow graphic designers—this new fake Java update is a nasty one.

    ovelky wrote:
    - I did a Google search of SubScribe.api and Astute Graphics was not mentioned in any of the results
    - the thing that made me most suspicious was the name of the plug-in itself  “SubScribe.” That does not sound like the name of a graphics plug-in. It sounds like a spam
Regarding those, see my link in post 2 above, it is indeed a plug-in.
    ovelky wrote:
Do you see what I mean?
No, I honestly don't, see my previous posts as to why.
If you truly feel there was a "fake Java update", that installed a non compatible plugin for the sole purpose to get your Illustrator to crash, then perhaps you need to write/contact both Oracle concerning a possible "fake Java update" and Astute Graphics to let them know they were associated with said "fake Java update" and one of their plugins was bundled inside to mysteriously cause havoc upon Illustrator users.
When you do please refer to this thread in your correspondence with them and let us know what the results and outcome are from both Oracle and Astute Graphics.

  • Using Skype moderatorss to Harass me after I block...

Okay this has never happened to me before so I have absolutely no idea what to do and am absolutely dumbfounded.
I ran a website where this girl found me and started contacting me repeatedly. I finally decided she's friendly and just want someone to talk to and gave her my Skype for her to contact. Since adding me to Skype, every one of our conversations were initiated by her and we usually just chat friendly like any typical conversation.
Then last time we chatted, and spoke about a week or so ago, she suddenly became very sexual and wrote and said a lot of sexual things with me. Afterward, I noticed her username amberier_17 ends with 17, and recalled that she's just going to university but still in high school. Though most of my friend sin high school before graduating were 18 or 19, I suddenly realized that she may not be over 18 yet and I don't think we ever put that to question.
So yesterday (April 1st), she says hi to me again and initiated conversation with me again. I told her my thoughts and said that we can't continue with any sexual conversation unless she's over 18, and asked her if she is. She refuses to answer me, and goes on passing rude remarks to me saying how her friend (im not sure who, and shes never mentioned friend before) says that she should stop contacting me etc as if I'm a bad guy I guess? At the end she told me I could go to hell if this or that and I was beginning to get very unnerved why she wouldn't even tell me whether she's over 18 or not.
So I blocked her then, with no intention of letting her contact me again. But today I was approached by a moderator who said they received a Report, from someone anonymouse, that I "solicited" personal information from them, and that violates the agreement and policy of Skype use. This moderator added me 30 minutes after I blocked her finding her refusing to tell me if she was over 18, doing the right thing, without asking her for exactly how old she is. If she said she do not want to tell me, then ok. if she stop contacting me, then ok. She did not do either, prompting me to conclude that she may very well be under 18, and to block her as I was beginning to feel both fooled, having responded to someone I shouldn't be talking to and don't even know, and being made to feel horrible as she kept repeating how her 'friend' think she should stop talking to me (as if we talk often at all).
I use Skype to mostly talk to either my ex (who is very nice and sweet to me and helps me out with a lot of school work even now), or other friends from school I Skype to do homework or assignment with. So I know for sure it can't be anyone else I know.
But after having blocked this individual, I am both reached by her (through a moderator), and her revenge in getting me banned from using Skype again. If this is not outright harssment or abuse of the system then I don't know what is. However I have no idea how to report this in detail at all so I am reporting it here seeing that moderators do address people's privacy and security issues here.
Right now I sadly feel almost like a victim, of indirect harssment manipulated by someone that wants to get back at me for blocking them. I feel like my privacy and safety is threatened by simply trying to do the right thing, and she got close to having me lose my way to stay in touch with people close to me using Skype that I always have used because of this eratic and vengeful stranger.
I hope to not to be harassed (personally or through indirect channels like with moderators) by this person again (especially with false accusations so obvious in our chat logs) or people this person incorporates to deliver inconveniences into my life and threaten the communication I have with people I know simply for blocking her and asking whether she's over 18 (not detailed age). But I don't know if it is even possible. I do hope the right person comes accross this and perhaps look into this person. If she's under 18, i think it's a bit inappropriate to get into and initate sexual conversations accross Skype and with strangers after seeking them out online. That's just what I think. Bottom line is I just want to be free from further harassments from this person.
Thanks for taking your time in reading this venting!

afaik, there is no such thing as "skype moderators" based on how you described them in your post.  Most likely, it just another possibly fake user (scammer/spammer) just like that girl (I also think they are related or possibly the same user).  I suggest that you report both that girl at that so-called moderator to [email protected], then blocked and remove them from your contact list.
I also think Skype doesn't communicate with their users via Instant Messages or calls, they usually send emails to users' registered email address.
IF YOU FOUND OUR POST USEFUL THEN PLEASE GIVE "KUDOS". IF IT HELPED TO FIX YOUR ISSUE PLEASE MARK IT AS A "SOLUTION" TO HELP OTHERS. THANKS!

  • Developing JSP iViews for PCR on R/3 4.6C Backend??

I have read several posts and have looked into a lot of documentation, but there still seems to be some confusion regarding MSS/PCR and EP 6.0.
    Here is some background:
We are planning to upgrade our portal from Workplace 2.11 to SAP EP 6.0 (NW04).  We have an R/3 4.6C backend and we are using ITS forms for our PCRs.
When we move to the EP 6.0, I see two ways of proceeding:
    1.  Use IAC iView on ITS and just call our ITS based forms from the EP 6.0.  This means we keep our standalone ITS.
    OR
    2.  Develop JSP iViews for our PCR forms on EP 6.0.  This way, we would no longer need ITS.
My confusion is whether I can actually do option 2.  After upgrading to EP 6.0 and installing the plug in 2003.1, can I develop PCR forms using JSP iView with a R/3 4.6C backend?
    Thanks,
    Younoos

I am not sure anyone can give you specific guarantees regarding development and use of your own custom JSP iviews ITS or otherwise
What I can say is -->
Certainly from a SAP perspective the delivered MSS Business Package 60.1.20 (HTMLB with JSP PCRs) is useable
in the landscape versions you mentioned (46C with EP6)  as per following link
    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/webcontent/uuid/302ecc07-a56d-2910-8fad-84996151e3b4
Therefore MSS PCRS based on JSP is possible in EP6 with 46C
Its also not clear why your ITS based forms are being abolished - if you back-end remains 46C - then presumably these should
still work - either called directly via ITS URL string given to users or integrated into EP 6 as a ITS iview or Portal HpF service calling ITS URL directly - the only reason I can think is that perhaps your ITS forms has a Workplace 2.11 dependancy or other dependancies I am not aware of.
    Best wishes

  • Someone has been sending random messages. ?!?

    Hi there,
I'm a newbie. The reason why I joined Skype Community is because I suspect someone has been sending me fraudulent voice recordings of something to do with security.
The sender's account name is "id.5514" (without quotation marks, of course).
In the voice recording there is a male talking about something about security isn't enabled or active on my computer. It says in the recording to go to http://www.mssls.com immediately to enable security protection. (Do not try this link unless you are part of the security team as I do not know the level of authenticity this website has.)
Anyways, if you go to this website, there is nothing but a blank white page.
Could someone please verify if this is a virus, or anything else that is potentially harmful to my computer, my Skype account, or my personal details?
    Thanks,
    ianextreme

yup, it's a scam promoting a possibly  fake antivirus/security software.  There is truly no way to someone or something to know that there are threats in your computer remotely (or at least without using certain software/apps and with your knowledge/permission).
if you haven't downloaded any stuff from that site, I think there should be nothing to worry about.  But a full antivirus scan using a fully updated antivirus software is recommended as a safety net.
Finally, block the user and send a report to [email protected]

  • Convert 30fps to 60fps?

Is there reliable way to convert a 24 or 30fps clip to 60fps, in AE CS5? (probably the same in CS4)
Applying Timewarp at 99.99 speed (with Pixel Motion on) doesn't always seem to work. It worked with a 30fps video I tried, but now I have a 24fps one, and it's spitting out tweened frames that aren't very different from the "real" frames (in other words, it's not making the video smoother).
    Thanks!

I think we are talking about different things. Increasing fps is pretty meaningless, if the clip is never played at that exact framerate, which applies to a lot of video. You only change the content of the frames for no sensible reason by smooshing in "wrong" pixels. Furthermore, I really don't see the point in adding inbetween frames at the cost of reducing overall sharpness and getting that floaty feel. The resulting frames are never physically exact, anyway, as neither their direction sampling nor their timing mimics a true shutter. Call me old-fashioned, if you will, but I truly don't see any use case for this. In mixed media projects, there may be conformed clips, but nobody would treat all footage just at whim. If this is some requirement for a specific delivery system, then okay, but even then I would assume that just doubling frames looks better than interpolating them. Anyway, your issues are very likely due to not obeying pulldown cadences, which naturally occurs when going from 24fps to 30fps/60fps. Check your footage interpretation on that one. Also verify, that your cam actually shot 24fps, not something else, including possibly "fake" 24fps based on 60fps with tagged frames...

    Hi ,
We are currently using EP6 SP2 Patch 5 and we want to add an iview with dynamic content .
This content will be part of a web site like news or jobs posting. We know that with EP5 that should be possible with iview catching but is it possible with EP6 .
Does somebody knows something about it .

  • Someone or some computer has been sending unwanted...

Today my friend texted me that she received a message from me. I was supposedly online while I was actually on the train where my computer was turned off and no internet connection whatsoever.
    The message was:
"Hello. Register on my new erotic cam chat (link removed)
After register first 10 minutes of cam chat - FREE! (*)"
And it was sent to a bunch of people on my contact list who were probably online all the time.
I since my computer was offline, I am quite sure there is no malicious software on my computer.
I've changed my password instantly, but I am still not sure how someone could have gotten my password.
What are the next steps I should take? How I can prevent this from happening again?

  • Hi there, i want to buy a registered version of PS CS4 (and an Upgrade to CS6)from a private Person...is there any Possibility to check if the Adobe ID,Licence,User is a real person...or a fake before buying it? Thanks for helping!

    Hi,
just got an offer from a private Person, who owns a boxed Version of Photoshop CS4 (DVD) and an Upgrade from CS4 to CS6....he told me that he can transfer the current license to me... now there's one important question for me...
Is there any possibility to check his Adobe-ID (which he already told me) if it's the same adress, name, etc. as he told me...
or if there is an registered Version of PS CS4 owned by this Adobe-ID?
Just like to check if he's a real person or a fake...don't want to buy any stolen or illegal software...or beeing punked after paying the money...
Thank you very much for helping me! :-)
    Chriss

Old versions of Photoshop are not marketed by Adobe. Only CS5 can be upgraded to CS6.  There are many scams on the web if you find a cheap copy of Photoshop out there its most likely a scam... Be careful.....

ALERT to the possibility of bad use of FRAUD in FAKES APPLICATIONS to iPad in iTunes Store. I bought two applications: Word Office, and PowerPoint  - $20,00 each-, because the advertising announce it's as Productivity Applications, able to work with them and consequently, to write, to save the works, to print, and else. But it's is ABSOLUTELY FALSE because this FAKE APPLICATIONS only PRETEND to be, but really its contains a BUNCH OF TUTORIALS VIDEOS!!!. So if you need applications to write, a make presentations or else, I strongly recommend PAGES, NUMBERS and KEYNOTE, the Apple applications and your money to be save and guaranteed!. I really think that the iTUNES STORE and the APPLEI STORE must to be policy ALL the applications products BEFORE authorized the sell in his official site!.

Is this one of the apps that you bought?
Microsoft PowerPoint 2010 - Be Expert
It may not be completely obvious, but it is, at least, categorized as Education with an, albeit small, disclaimer "(noted: this app is not the PowerPoint from Microsoft)"
The description is accurate, as it is all "What you can know" and "What you can learn" but they probably should use a different icon to avoid confusion.
