Possible for Solution Manger to track Transaction usage?

Dear Experts,
I want to track the usage of SAP transactions by the users in some systems over 1 year period. Based on some online reading, I can see the 2 options:
1. Via SM19 Security Audit
2. Via STAD (short term only)
However, with all the system monitoring features brought in by Solution Manager, is there a way to use Solution Manager to serve the same purpose?

Whilst not specific to solman, wouldn't ST03/ ST03N be a better alternative and increase the retention period from 3 months to 13 or or so?

RE:Transaction usage report not updating.

Hi All,
I am on 5.2 SP9 and I am facing an issue wherein the transaction usage report is not getting updated by the lateast report. To illustrate, I created a role with transaction PFCG and assigned it to a user. Now, when the user executes the PFCG, the report should be updated and it should show that this user also executed PFCG today, which isn't the case.
Would like to know if anyone has a clue how to resolve the same. As in, did i miss out on anything which needs to configured/done before running this report.

Thanks for your reply but the transaction usage reports I am mentioning here are actuallyu the transaction usage reports for "Role Expert" not for "FireFighter".

1. In your SAP Solution Manager system, call transaction SMSY (System Landscape Maintenance).
2. To create your SAP system in the system landscape, proceed as follows:
a) Select the landscape component Systems and choose Create New System from the context menu.
b) Enter the system ID in the following dialog box as the system.
c) Select the relevant product and the corresponding product version from the input help.
Then choose Save.
d) Fill in the system data as much as possible.
You can find further documentation in the online help at Help® Application Help.
e) Save your entries.
3. To generate the key, choose Other object... from the menu System Landscape.
4. Set the indicator System and choose the system that you want to install from the input help.
If you created the system in the SAP Solution Manager in the previous step, choose this system.
5. Choose Generate Installation / Upgrade Key.
6. Enter the requested information.
7. Choose Generate Key.

SAP will not provide solman key. However it will provide a solution manager free for ERP software. The first system that should be installed is solman in the landscape. By making solman mandatory SAP wants to regulate the irregularities in the annual fees payment by the customers. It want their customers to habituate to this software, so it provided some of the usefull concepts in solman i.e central administration of all systems in the landscape, preparation of implementation projects using ASAP methodology, maintaining service level agreement reports, provides service desk option(ticketing tool), early watch alerts etc.
So upgrade to NW2004s it is mandatory that you have solman installed.
Please correct me if I am wrong.

Have you tried re-booting your WiFi router ? It may seem OK on your PC, but a re-boot may help.

Tracking Transaction Code Usage

Hello All -
I am looking for a way to track all transaction codes that a User uses in a day and the duration in time the user's ID is in the trans code. Is there a way to measure this kind of metric? We need this to track user efficiency. If this is something that should be written in a report, I do not want to use the Change tables (CDHDR or CDPOS). I am looking for a transcode or method similar to a trace.
If this is not the correct forum to post my question please direct me to the correct one.

ST03 N for Transaction usage since one year

Hi gurus,
I know we can do transaction usage analysys for a period say like year...In ST03 or ST03 N but i forgot how to do thta...could u please tell me how to find out A transaction is been used by which user since one year or some x period of time..

2 ideas come to my mind :
One year ! As data is probably exported to a file before being purged, ST03N won't help you. It's better to analyze the exported file (admins usually export to excel file, so that they are able to compare performance at different times, for example to make sure response time does not increase).
In ST03N, there is a "transaction profile" view or something like that, but I don't think you can get a 2 dimensional table with user and transaction (as ST03N is performance-oriented)

Yes. Just drag your music in from iTunes or wherever and the timeline will auto increase to the full length of the music track. Like this:

When Apple tracks your app usage for your battery is it able to track the usage of apps you've deleted off of your phone?

Ive downloaded aops that I've ised but deleted. Is Apple able to track the usage of that apo that has been deleted?

Usage data of individual apps is not regularly sent to Apple and you can simply opt out of sending any diagnostic or crash data. And a deleted app certainly cannot send usage data as it is not available on the device to be used, nor can an absent app crash and generate a log report.

Is it possible to lock an audio track in "record enabled" mode?

Here's how i write... i set up a drum loop to play for around 20 minutes, then I rec-enable one audio track to record vocals, and then finally, I skip around among hundreds of different midi tracks.
I just hit the down arrow button, and scroll through dozens and dozens of midi tracks. I quickly hit the keyboard to listen to the sounds. If i like a particular sound, i just want to hit record, and instantly record my vocals along with the midi performance.
Unfortunately, when i hit record, the vocal/audio track doesn't record. Right at the moment when i find an inspiring sound and hit record, the vocals just don't record.
I'm forced to scroll miles up the arrange window, to find
the vocal audio track. It's still blinking the red "rec" button, but this is misleading. It's not actually record enabled. I have to hold down shift, hit it once to turn it off, then hit it again to re-activate record function.
Only then can i record the midi AND vocals.
What I want and need is sooooooo simple to offer as a function, yet totally ruinous to my creative flow if it's not possible. (I used to do this easily on the far inferior
Cubase VST 5.1, OS 9)
Is there a way to record enable an audio track, so that,
until I specifically disable the record function, it's
ALWAYS ready to record the second I hit the record button?

I tried to build screensets like you suggested. If I could
get this to work, I think it would be a great solution, but
I'm having serious problems.
I opened a separate mixer, with just the single vocal/audio
track showing.
Then I opened the main mixer, which has all the faders.
If I record-enable a midi track, and then hit the record-enable button on the audio track, the midi track becomes un-enabled. Incredibly frustrating.
The only way I've been able to do it has been to record-enable the vocal track, and then start recording.
Only if Logic is actually recording, can i then record-enable the midi track without deactivating the audio
track.
A big problem is, that when i click to record enable the
vocal track, the arrange window jumps all the way up to the
top, where the audio track is. THen i'm forced to travel
down, to re-find the midi track.
You mentioned in your post that the mixer needs to be
"unlinked". HOw is this done? Will it be possible for
me to click on the record-enable button on the mixer's audio track without the arrange window jumping to that track?

Hi Sri ram,
eCATT is a tool to design test scripts.. A test script built by eCATT is like a recorded transaction .. which you use to re run by supplying different test data... means if you record it once.. you can use it with different test data ..
eCATT is part of WAS and is available in ERP and as well as Solution Manager..
Once you build all the eCATT's in ERP you can assign them to (SOLAR02-Configuration window) the blue print.. .. there is tab test cases where you can attach a test script which you created in ERP and the variant (Test data) which is to be used while testing.. (Test script + Test data) become one test case...
You can build test plan basing on all the test cases you attached to blueprint... STWB_2....You need select which all test cases are part of this test plan...
Once the test plan is created you have to create test packages which are collection of test cases and you can assign testers to these test packages.....
Once these test packages are assigned to testers the testers can access the test cases attached to them and they can run them... ecatt runs automatically and with designated data and will record the result.. Transaction STWB_WORK for testers to access the test packages...
eCATT - is to automate testing....
Solution Manager - Provides test work bench where you can create test plans, test packages.... allowing you to manage testing. monitoring and reporting...
Hope this helps you to understand eCATT and relation of it with Solution manager ...

Problem in Transaction Usage report in Virsa toolbox in virsa FF

We have recently installed virsa firefighter.
When we run Transaction Usage report in Virsa toolbox,selection by " Transaction",it gives all the transaction run in the particular client till date and not just the tcode for which we want the report.
For can be the reason for such a result?

This may be possible if the trace is activated in the TA ST01. But it is not advisable to keep this trace for a prolonged period as it has an adverse effect in the system performance.
For a smaller user base, u can enable the security log in TA SM19, The report can be pulled from TA SM20.
