Possible short after replacing display?
I have 2 T400 units. The HD died on one and the other had a bad display so I took the good display out of one and replaced it in the other. That part was fairly easy thanks to the Lenovo discussion board and you tube, however, when I boot up the 2nd unit now I get the green power lights for about 10 seconds then nothing. The lights go out. I've tried the pushing the power button 10 times and then holding the power button down for 30 secs thing. It brings the lights back again but they go off and the laptop goes dead again after about 10 secs. Any ideas what I might have done and how I can fix this? These units are sadly out of warranty and I'd rather not have to junk them.
This is an office environment that has BitLocker on the Hard Drives so I could not just replace the HD in the other unit.

If you have 2 memory chips, try them one at a time. Make sure it is seated correctly. Push it in all the way before snapping it in place and push it a few degrees past horizontal.

So as I said in the title, I purchased my new Macbook Pro retina display OS X 10.7.4 in June 2012 and recieved in early July. Shortly after I started using the laptop, it began randomly restarting itself. It does this about once a week while I am just using the laptop for normal internet browsing. I haven't downloaded any outside software that the system could be rejecting and it is fully charged. Any ideas on why this is happening or how to fix it?
Also this is a total random question, but there is a residue on my laptop that is faint but randomly shows up. I'm almost positive that it is nothing on my hands or where I place the laptop. I wasn't sure if it was something possibly coming from the side vents. White screen after replacing LCD display myself. Help needed!
I tried replacing the cracked LCD display, the fuctions on the iPod is still working but after replacing the LCD display it turns out to be white. I search the internet for solution but can't find any instead the possible problem. I found forums stating it could be the 'GPU chip' is fried on the logic board. I tried the cracked LCD on another iPod Touch 2nd Gen and found out that you could still see the outline of the lockscreen and time but when I tried on the original iPod Touch 2nd Gen it's just white, the same goes for the new LCD display. It's there any possible way to replace just that part without resetting the iPod Touch to its factory settings and how much would it cost?

Audio clips cutting off at the beginning, after replacing audio.
I have received an fla for a complex game, and have been directly replacing the audio clips in it with new ones with the same file name. The game randomly chooses themes, displaying text and a corresponding audio clip. After replacing the old files with the new ones, out of 20 audio clips, about 6 of them get cut off at the beginning. There is no discernible difference in the length of the clips, or empty space at the beginning between the original audio files and the new ones.
Is it possible that there is something happening in the actionscript that could be causing the problem? The fla calls a file calls Themes.as, this is the code in the file, case the answer is in there somewhere:

GingerIf you have not upgraded to version 7 you should do that.
If you have upgraded to Version 7, be sure to do the updates to 7.0.5
Go to the Help menu and select 'About Adobe Presenter' to see what version, if it is 7.0, to 7.0.2 you need to update it
drop down the help menu again and you will see an 'update' option.
you need to install in order - 7.0.1, then 7.0.2 then 7.0.5 - you cannot install all at once
another thing you might want to do is open the file you are working on in 7.0.5 snd save it out with a new filename in a new location to combat that pesky problem of the 'media.ppcx' file disappearing.... -
I had to remove my display on a Compaq Presario 2100 notebook to replace a broken arm. Now the display only has a back light and does not boot. After looking at the service manual pg. 2-23 it is saying that the EEPROM needs to be reprogramed. Is there an easy fix? The computer some times will boot with the short start up sound playing, but no display just the back light.

I understand after replacing an arm on your notebook's chassis the display is no longer working and only has a backlight.
The EEPROM is something that should not be tampered with as it will require 3rd party software to be programmed outside of the HP service center. The most likely solution is that the display cable was not connected properly or has come loose after changing the arm.
Follow this guide to make sure all of the connections are seated firmly: Service Manual.
try using an external display to rule out GPU issues. If a VGA display works fine the display will need to be replaced if reseating the connection does not work. You can replace the display by using the part numbers available in the guide, or by contacting HP Phone Support to set up service/repair for the notebook if available. RPCBind crashes shortly after startup
Hi all,
I have a critical application that is dependent on a portmapper service. In older versions of OSX, portmap worked without issues, but since moving to 10.8.4, I found that the portmap service was replaced with RPCbind. Intuitively, I thought this service would begin on startup, but either it does not, or it crashes shortly afterwards. In anycase, after I startup my laptop, the service is not running. If I try to launch it manually, it stays up for about 30 seconds, and then crashes. The command I use to start it is: sudo launchctl start com.apple.rpcbind

Seemingly random crashes shortly after boot?
I have a very unstable 17-in Mid-2009 Macbook Pro on OS X 10.9.1 Mavericks (although this was also a problem on OS X 10.7.5 Lion). I think I can squeeze another 6 months of life out of this, but if not, that's acceptable.
It ...just crashes randomly. When I say crash, I mean that the whole thing just shuts off. Never after Safe Boot, but shortly after booting and when coming out of sleep. It doesn't matter if I have it connected to the power adapter. Sometimes there's actual crash reports (QuickLookSatellite and UserEventAgent), but sometimes not. I have replaced everything in this computer I possibly can in an attempt to fix this and/or improve its performance. Here's a pastebin link to the latest crash. Any ideas?

Is it possible to programmatically replace a Sub Report in a crystal report
We create crystal reports via the crystal report designer (not in any IDE) , and attach the reports directly to the database via stored procedures. Each report contains a page header and a page footer with patient demographic data. We distribute these reports to our customers and they may edit the templates and alter the page header and page footers specific to their needs.
We are looking at using sub reports to build a "model" page header and page footer that would be inserted into each template at design time. What we would like to do is allow the customers to create their own sup reports to contain their custom page header / page footer and then programmatically replace the " model" sub reports with the custom sub reports. Please note that these sub reports would not contain any data access and would not be linked to the main report, rather the main report would assign the data that is displayed in the page header/page footer data to shared variables, and the sub reports would use the shared variables as their data source to display the data.
Is it possible to programmatically replace 1 sub report with another ? If so are there any code snippets to review -Yes it is. Submit your post to which ever SDK you are using into the Developer forums. But search the posts first and look in our samples. This is relatively easy to do.

Getting "replace hard disk error (#10008)" even after replacing hard disk
Hi!
My laptop- HP Pavillion dv 6502- is 4 years old.
Recently, the hard disk supposedly crashed as I was not able to get anything other than a blank screen. I checked with BIOS diagnostics, and it showed error #10008- Replace Hard disk.
So, I went to an hp service centre and got the hard disk replaced.
My earlier hard drive was a Seagate 160 gb momentus 5400.3 disk.
New one is the Seagate 250 gb disk.
The laptop was working properly the day the hard disk was replaced. BIOS diagnostic status for the disk was "Passed"
But, the very next day when i tried starting the system, I got a blank screen again. I again went to BIOS and ran the diagnostic test. I performed the test twice. It took a lot of time to finish- jumping from Reaching till '80% complete', then jumping back to '10% complete', then '90% complete', then '10% complete', and so on.. finally showing '100% complete' and status : #10008 - Replace hard disk - both the times.
Then, I had to go out of station and so, I didn't touch my laptop for 2 days. When i came back, the computer was working fine and the BIOS test status said "Passed" for the disk
What could be the problem due to which my problem wasn't starting earlier- even after replacement of disk? Is it possible that the disk was not the problem in the first place?Hi!
Turned out the second new Hard disk was also not fine. I went back to the service centre and got the hard disk replaced again. This time the laptop has been working fine. -
Two HP Pavilion 23fi 23-inch dead short after end of warranty!!

I live in Australia and it is almost impossible to find the right information or even support from your local web site.
I have two HP Pavilion 23fi 23-inch Diagonal IPS LED Backlit Monitor (C7T77A2) here on my desk and a few days apart BOTH displays died short after the warranty expired.
My local shop where I bought the displays is not able to help me.
Both displays show the same behavior, the display is decolored on the left side and only every second line is visible.
It is annoying and very disappointing, I bought HP because I am very happy with my Z200 workstation, but the displays are not worth the name HP.
I would be very pleased if some of your support personal could contact me to discuss the matter.

Change the value of a uiXML frameset after frame displays.
I have a frameset - after it displays the frames I want to change the targetframe in the frameset, is there a way to alter the
bound value of the targetframe?
is there a way on a page load to fire an event that would alter the targetframe? perhaps on a onload event for the uix page that
loads in the center?
for example, I have a center frame defined in my frameset:

Screen issue after replacement - Model CB30
Replaced broken screen on Toshiba Chromebook. After replacing the screen:
1 – Unit powers on, new screen is receiving power, but the screen is black. No image.
2 – Double check – this is NOT the screen brightness being turned down via the keyboard.
3 – System recovery - display is back – screen comes on perfectly.
4 – Setup successful. Unit is functional. Can use it with no issue.
5 – First time you shutdown / restart the unit, the screen is non-functional. Same as
described in #1 - screen is black. No image, but it is getting power....
Really a weird issue...I should say that the replacement was done by the apple store. If they refuse to fix it properly, what options do I have?

ITunes 10.5.3 freezes shortly after start-up (culprit= iTunes match?)
Hi,
I'm running an early 2011 macbook pro (OS X 10.7.2, 2.3GHz quad core i7, 8GB RAM). iTunes has started freezing up and becoming non-responsive shortly after opening. It takes between 30 seconds and ~5 minutes, irrespective of what I'm doing in iTunes.
I think this may have started after purchasing an iTunes match subscription, but I'm not entirely sure the two are linked. If I stop the iTunes match process, iTunes will still freeze up.
Is anybody else experiencing this problem? I've seen a few unanswered posts similar to this.
When will 10.5.4 be released, and will it solve this issue? Is there an easy way to return to an earlier version of iTunes without having to add everything to my library all over again, and do any earlier versions have iTunes match support?
It would be really nice to be able to actually use iTunes again.
EDIT: if I'm playing music through iTunes when it freezes up, it will continue playing until the end of the track. The next track doesn't play though.

Yes, lots of complaints and issues with 10.7.3 which may have brought this about on my early 2009 Mac Pro which on it I have my system that has gone through an earlier mac pro, maccbook pro and iMac over past few years with out needing to do a clean install and then go back and update from time machine. My 13 inch macbook air does not have problems but I do a lot less with it and do not use the itunes on it to sync my iOS devices which gave me the most problems on 10.5.3.
I have done the deed (remotely) and itunes seems ok and stable, but now we will see how syncing goes with my two ipads, and iphone. Testing over next 24 hours will tell the tail. If this works then I will sit back a bit and see what the issues are with the 10.7.3 OS upgrade before reapplying on my Mac Pro.

PDF renders the wrong page numbers
