Message split questions

Hi Guys!
First I need a confirmation for following assumption:
To create multiple messages of same type (without BPM) I set the inbound interface to 0..unbounded in the if-mapping and I also set the target message to 0..unbounded in the message mapping. If I want to create one message per let's say "ITEM", I map ITEM to the root node of the target message and there will be one message per ITEM. Is that right?
Then I have a question concerning the processing order:
Are the messages processed in the order they appear in the message mapping?
Last question:
Does the message split within the if-/ message mapping also work with synchronous processes and with jdbc adapter?

In anwsering your first question, it is 1:N multi-mapping scenario, noticed that your target message is just single type.
1. In your message mapping, go to "message" tab, change your target message to 0:unbounded
2. In you Interface mapping, change to inbound interface to 0:unbounded, mapping program need to be specify your message mapping
3. In your message mapping, you want each 'ITEM" in your source message to generate each target message:
you need to map: ITEM ---> Target_Message_Type.

Hi,
Curious, can you split a file when using array.split() for a
carriage return that was loaded using loadVars?
say my file looked like this:
John, 23, handsome, blonde
Mary, 35, pretty, brunette
myArray[3] = blonde Mary
is there a way to have it
myArray[3]= blonde
myArray[4]= mary
any help would be great.

APEX possible feature questions

I posted another question that was answered, but have 2 more. We're attempting to configure APEX so that students can access it and run SQL commands on their own tables.
I've got how to get each student their own workspace that they can configure without touching any of the other students workspace, however, I am continuing to play around and read about APEX features and I am wondering if there is any possibility that I can disable the GUI wizard part that allows users to create tables so they can only use SQL commands (I'm starting to doubt that this is possible)
also
Is there a way for the administrator of the database to view the work done by each user and view their SQL work?

You can create a single workspace and a single schema for each student. Then just revoke the CREATE TABLE priviledge from the database schema.
Is there a way for the administrator of the database to view the work done by each user and view their SQL work?No. Although the DBA can of cause see all the stuff (tables, views, objects) that is in the database.
Otherwise I agree with acadet. FIrst learn SQL. Then start to use fancy tools like SQL Developer and/or APEX.

Document splitting question

Hi ,
can some one explain me the concept of document splitting when it comes to cross company code..how does document splitting work when a document has two company codes or for a cross company document..pls give a small example..

Hi,
Settings provided in document splitting rules are all standard sap ones.
Please use document splitting method 0000000012 and dont change any of the base item and item category.
Only make the following updations in document splitting node in SPRO:
a) Classify G/L accounts for document splitting
b) Define Zero balance clearing account
c) Define Document splitting characteristics for General Ledger Accounting and ensure to select profit center and segment as zero balance and mandatory field as ticked.
d) Activate document splitting
Apart from these, it is not necessary to change any of the document splitting details.
Assign points if useful.

Newish to iWeb so excuse the possibly dumb questions!

I am not a web designer also, so technically my skills in web stuff on a mac are basic ( i used to do some basic HTML stuff on a PC). I have my .mac account that I use for my family site, which is fine. But now I have a registered domain for my photography business, so I went ahead and created another web site for that, separate from my family site. I got it all done then went to save it to a folder and it is saying, "the document iweb could not be saved." I have tried a few times but nothing. IT won't even let me publish it to my .mac site. I NEED to get this done and am at my wits end. I am wondering if it would be easier to use the Adobe Creative Suite to design the webpage!
Also, is it easier to FTP the site to the domain server, or to have it at my .mac site, redirected from the new domain?
Last question. Can iWeb do a photo gallery that is more sophisticated than the slideshow option? As a photographer I would like something a little more snazzy that can also be divided by genre (babies, kids, family etc).

File-XI-File BPM Split Question

Iam using BPM to split the 1 file into 2 files. I have to use BPM due to requirement.
Iam sending file to BPM
In BPM:
receive step
transform Step - Here message split is performed
Fork Start
Send Message 1
Send Message 2
Fork End ( end condition is 1=1 )
Stop.
Only 1 file is written and 2nd file no information
When I looked at SXMB_MONI_BPE
Send1 Workflow system logically deleted
Send2 Workflow system completed
I dont know whats happening for Send 1
Where can I look for potential errors ?

Since Iam going to add more process steps ( such as synchronous calls) i really wanted to finsih the sending of both SEND steps in the FORK. If I dont give end condition, am I sure that those SENDS are processed before next process step following fork ?
BPM will come out of FORK only when all steps in all branches are executed succesfully.
If you give an END condition to the fork, then this is used when you are not sure for how long the steps in the fork should run, and so on.

+You use a fork () when you want to continue a process in branches that are independent of each other, for example, to communicate with two systems that are independent of each other. The branches of the fork join in a union operator.

As soon as a branch reaches the union operator at runtime, the system checks the following conditions in the specified order:
· The process has run through the required number of branches
· The specified end condition has returned true
The step is complete as soon as one of the conditions returns true.+
Earlier when you gave condition as 1=1 one of the steps was executed and it came out of the fork. So, do no give any condition and it will execute all steps in the FORK and come out as you want.

Possible Stupid Question on Aliases

We're on iMS/SunONE 5.2. What I've yet to figure out is how to do something so simple that I may be overlooking the obvious solution. This is to duplicate what /etc/aliases does in sendmail. I.E take an email address which does not match a particular existing user and deliver that message to the specifed recipient. There are two aspects of this which I need to address.
1) Delivery of inbound mail if account is local. For example... [email protected] to [email protected] I think I understand this as I just need to add an alternate address for bob.jones into the ldap. Not centralized but the concept makes sese.
2) Forwarding of inbound mail to other mail servers. For example [email protected] to [email protected].edu where our.listserv.edu is handled by a seperate mail server. In this case the /etc/aliases file sendmail uses makes this dirt simple. Unfortunately i've poured through the iMS docs and have yet to find how to do this. It may have to do with terminology as I'm not sure what iMS calls this type of proceedure. We have many of these (hundreds) and not having a centralized way of handling these would be very very difficult. What is the solution here?

Not a stupid question at all, I fought with the same concept coming from sendmail. The concept is that it's simple to redirect mail using the aliases file (/etc/mail/aliases) and it only took one line to do it.
Under iMS you need to expand your mind and accept that ldap is <insert deity> and everything is done differently.
Alias entries need to be adapted to one of -
individual accounts (mailalternateaddress)
or
a new ldap entry with it's forward settings going to your other addresses.
or
a mail list, for local one to many distributions.
This applies to direct ldap and dirsync mode, however if you're running in dirsync mode, ensure you run the dirsync after making changes.
Finally, if you create an aliases file in -
<msg-home>/config/aliases
and you are thorough on the addresses, they still work.
Just my experience, search for "aliases" in the forum.

Help with possibly noobish question

I need to make some complex graph structures such that this format will not do
1: 2 ->4
2: 4 ->2
I have several additions to each node to take care of that is the main problem.
each node has aarity which I could hold as a separate array to be accessed for each object instance of a node
Part 1:
The problem is that i have to know which node is connected to which arity element and then I have to search for the free elements and label their indexes with characters. I think I can solve this
Part 2:
The second problem is maybe a little worse as I have to translate certain groups graphs to something like this and then connect them to any graph as needed. Will i need to make a separate object for this purpose??

Part 3:
To compound this I have to find a way to implement a menu selector to choose random graphs or parts of graphs for a Genetic Algorithm. Selection is not the problem here its is mapping the structures into a chromosone which is causing me the problem.

Each connection has the graphs triggers different application specific rules that cause the graph to reduce or change connections.
Any help on strategies for these problems would greatly be appreciated

Well its not due tomorrow and I am doing some research into a wierd topic so you guys are along the right lines. The topic I am researching is non-determinstic interaction nets. I don't know too many people doing this. Interaction Nets invented by a guy named Yves Lafont and you can google this and the topic I am researching.
All the code written thus far exists in C and is very hard to interpret as it uses a Lex and Yacc parser to implement the creation of tokens and syntax rules of the Interaction Nets programming language.
Basically its a high level visual graph programming language however it can also be used on low level based on interpretation. Thus the need for graph data structures. Essentially I have to modify this programming language for non-determinism and demonstrate this in a Genetic Algorithm. The latter would be no problem if I could get the data structure sorted. People familiar with Lamda calculus, Linear Logic and Process Calculus might have seen this in some research papers.
However I have not had a very good theoretical background so finding the data structures to map the complexity of the graphs is a little problematic. I will outline my idea and what I have done a little clearer below.
So far I have broken the prob into smaller steps as suggested by someone, I hope the pseudo code helps a little more.

Installing iTunes (possible dumb question?)

Now I am no computer expert so for the savvy out there I trust you not to laugh at this question!
When you download a file such as iTunes and save it prior to install I understand it is visible as e.g. iTunes.exe. Opening the .exe file will cause a programme to be installed. Understand that.
Now, are you safe to delete the original .exe file you downloaded? This won't mess up your newly installed programme? Presume what goes for iTunes.exe in this regard goes for any .exe file? I would simply like to be in a position to delete any unnecessary files from my PC.
Comments anyone?

i've been religiously keeping a copy of every installer file i've ever downloaded from itunes (and ipod software upaters too) since my 5.0.1.4 install.
the most recent version of it lives on my desktop (for reference purposes, if i can ever find it in that cyberpigsty). when a new itunes version comes out, i go through my ritual of creating a folder for my previous version of iTunesSetup.exe, and tucking it into bed to leave room for the brand spanking new iTunesSetup.exe on my desktop.
(i'm inclined to believe my behavior is a bit perverse in this regard, though.)

Split() questions

I have tried to read regular expression (regexp) tutorials but I don`t really see how to do what I want. What I want is to have "One" printed above "two" and that printed above "three" without doing System.out.println(temp.trim()); in the for-each loop. Firstly, how do I use *?* versus *|* ? Secondly, I know that the argument is a regular expression and that I must use regexp to do what I want but I am not getting it. The results I get are "One" above whitespace followed by "two" then that on top of "three".

Possible Noob Question: Correcting Colors From Cheap Digital Camera

I'm somewhat embarrassed to ask this here, but ya gotta start some place.
I'm a web dev so forgive my ignorance. I work with photos a lot, but they've always come to me from people who know what they're doing. I don't really understand digital -photography- that well---which is quite different I realise than film.
Anyhoo, I'm trying to get better colors from a pocket digital camera (Canon Elf 310) which (supposedly) has 12MP. The pictures I want to take for the job I have in mind involve clouds and landscapes and I gotta take a pocket came because we're camping/fishing.
Anyway, they -could- be very cool but the tests I've done show that the colors are going to be just -wrong-. And by 'wrong' I mean everything either seems -under- saturated or hyper-statured. For example... the subtle pinks in clouds are rendered as washed out or will be overly contrasty (hyper) yellow to orange.
The detail is quite sharp, however so does that mean there's something 'there' there which can be properly corrected? And if so, how?
If it's too wordy, perhaps maybe someone can just recommend a good text on the subject?

I completely agree with Mylenium.
Beyond working with the various Tools in PS, for "Color Correction," I would start with a properly calibrated monitor, so that you know that what you are "correcting," is the Image, and not the monitor.
Next, familiarization with those Tools, such as Hue/Saturation, will be very useful. The Help file can get you started, by defining what each Tool can do, and a short-course on how it does it.
I would always work with non-destructive techniques, so that one can always go back and re-edit things. For that Hue/Saturation, mentioned above, I would use a Hue/Saturation Adjustment Layer. Same for Color Balance, and the rest.
Last, you eye should be your guide, on that calibrated monitor. Adjust, until you get what YOU like (or what your client likes). Remember that by default, most of those "corrections" will be "global" for the Image, BUT with Layer Masks, you can restrict/constrain the corrections to just certain areas of that Image. At that point, knowing about the various Masking techniques will be very helpful. Besides the Help file, there are many useful tutorials on various Masking techniques, and many will apply to Layer Masks.
Also be aware that different camera sensors might bias differently, and also with lower-resolution Images, you will likely not have a great deal of Dynamic Range to work with. Start with the best possible, from your camera. If possible, shoot in Camera RAW, and use the "processing" power of ACR (Adobe Camera RAW), to get started. You should be able to create a Preset for your camera (maybe shoot a McBeth Color Checker card, and calibrate that), to get that processing started.

A possibly dumb question re exporting clip for web use

Hi,
I've been experimenting with diff resolutions etc for exporting a clip intended to be added to a web page. Diff levels of mpeg compression, etc.
I'm most impressed with the quality of H264, the video codec for the video ipod. I play it in a quicktime player just fine & it looks great. Its a choice in FCP HD 4.5
The question is, can I make a little clip in H264 & put it on the web? Will web browsers with plug-ins set up to play quicktime files be able to play it? are there any compatibility issues? Windows browsers? etc?

Yes, they are playable on the web. They were able to do that before the video iPod came along, so that was their original intent.
For others to see it they need to have QT7, and unfortunately many PCs cannot see videos in this format.

TLF possible VerticalAlign question

Try using baselineShift to move the image around.
This sort of worked for me.

The surrounding text was 14 point with leading of 120%.
TLF won't wrap around the image on the following lines.
