Possible to add bookmarks from one computer to another?

Hi all. I posted this in the Safari Forum but no one has replied, so I thought I'd try here. I have one PowerBook at home and another at work. I use Safari on both. Over time, they have developed different sets of bookmarks, but I would like them to be the same on both computers. Is there a way to Import/Export from one machine to the other without either erasing bookmarks they don't have in common or duplicating the ones that they do?
(I'm now using Camino on one of the machines, and have imported the Safari bookmarks to it, but my question is still the same: Can I add the bookmarks from one computer to the other without erasing or duplicating bookmarks in the target software.)

I copied my Bookmarks.plist file to a memory stick and brought it to work today. But when I went to copy it into the Safari folder it said "A file called Bookmarks.plist already exists in that location. Do you want to replace it?" But of course I don't want to replace it, I just want to add to it. So unless someone knows of some obscure "Merge" command somewhere in OS X, I guess I'll just have to try Bookit. Cheers, all. GB

Sounds like you want to set up Firefox Sync. This will allow you to keep all of your instances of Firefox synchronized. Just follow the steps in [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/what-firefox-sync?s=sync&r=0&as=s this article] and you'll be set.

Would it be possible to move the CS6 program from an old laptop to a new one somehow? Someone told me that I could unregister the program from the old laptop and transfer to the new one and reregister there. I still, thankfully, have the package and the CDs that I downloaded the program from. I don't know how to go about transferring and setting everything up again since it's been a while. I have three computers: a desktop, an old laptop, and a newer laptop. I would love more than anything to try to get the CS6 on the new laptop so can just have two computers to juggle with instead of three. The CS6 program is the only reason why I'm hanging onto the old one, which I don't know how much longer it can/will last since it's about 7 years old and the harddrive isn't passing the monthly inspection it does and the USB ports are somehow crooked inside since it takes a while for it to recognize a USB. Bought a new battery recently just to keep it running a little bit longer. I'd appreciate any suggestions on the CS6 if have any!

you could use Safari's File-Export Bookmarks function... and then import
or copy the file 'Bookmarks.plist' over from Home/Library/Safari/ - although I've seen a few cases lately where some 'custom' permissions have seemingly resulted from this, making the transferred file effectively read-only, so no new bookmarks can be added. Certainly I've done it that way, w/o any problems.

and on the top of that it has an import/export menu using this you can export all your bookmarks into a file either as html or as a json
you can then do the reverse on another PC

I know that LR is licensed so you can have it on two computers. I'm currently using an older powerbook. I'd like to buy LR now to take advantage of the discount, but I know I'll get a new computer soon -- is there a mechanism in place to deactivate the installation of LR on the older computer when the new one comes around?

I would just uninstall on the old computer and install on the new one, using your serial number. I don't think there is any other sort of validation. I hope not - I'm moving my Lr to a new hard drive on Thursday.

Choose Go to Folder from the Finder's Go menu, enter ~/Library/Safari/ as the path on one machine, and copy the file Bookmarks.plist to the corresponding location on the other. This will overwrite the existing file instead of merging them. If you want to merge them, click here for information.

Here's what I do when transferring from one profile to another, on the same computer.
Go to "organize bookmarks", click on "bookmark toolbar", click on any bookmark in that category, click on menu "organize", click "select all", click on "organize" again, click "copy".
Then close firefox, start it again with the other profile, go to "organize bookmarks", click on "bookmark toolbar", click "organize", click "paste".
Now if you are moving to another computer, try save the copied content to a text file and move that text file to the other computer, then use "paste" inside firefox.
