Possible to burn 60 fps on Bluray?

Hi all,
I also have a question if it is possible and logical to shoot footage with 60 fps (1080P) and burn it on a bluray. In addition, is it possible to combine footage shot at 60 and 30 fps and burn them on a blu ray? i use premiere pro cs5.
Thanks in advance for all the help.
Cheers,
Hugo

Blu-ray can hold the following HD formats:
NTSC
1080i/30
1080p/24
720p/60
720p/24
PAL
1080i/25
720p/50
1080p/60 is not part of the BD spec and will not go onto Blu-ray as is.  You can drop it down to 720p/60 and keep all the frames, though.

  • Best Settings For Burning/Writing a Playable Bluray?? ("Everybody" Claims To Be An Expert!!!)  HELP!

My friend said it best here the other night at my place. Everybody claims to be an expert. One guy says, Maximum Bitrate for a Playable Bluray
is 22 with a target of 20, another guy says 25, this guy says that, that guy says this??? Inside Adobe the setting can be set to up to 40???  After awhile
you just want to pull your hair out!!!
Someone please help me here... I honestly get tired a seeing this... "WELL IT ALL DEPENDS WHAT YOU NEED IT FOR, BLA, BLA, BLA"  I need
it to play on a Bluray Player and be the best possible quality that it can be. I would like to know the best possible Transcoding Settings for a playable Bluray.
People all over the net and in the forums ask, yet the answers are a) THIN, and B) Different people say different Bitrates??? I mean is there
someone out there who has actually experimented with these things so many times that they are a TRUE EXPERT with this??
So, what is so difficult about an Adobe expert coming to the forum and saying... THESE ARE THE BEST QUALITY SETTINGS??
    Anyway, Questions.
#1 Why is it that if you click Maximum PROPERTIES (right hand window) it will change from Automatic to Maximum quality and the preset that you choose, however over on the right hand side
if you check your project settings the Bitrate stays the same 15??? (Even though the project size goes up in Megabytes as well)  Yet, you can still change the bitrate up to a Maximum of 40 if you want???
#2 Project Settings, Transcode Settings...  Someone Please explain???
    #3 Edit Quality Presets??
    #4 Longform For H.264???
#5 AND THE BIGGIE QUESTION OF ALL TIME??? Why is it that there are INTERLACED options/settings to make a Bluray???
(The reason I ask is that everywhere I read about Encore it says its job is to Deinterlace during the Transcode. So why Interlacing options?)
IF NOBODY WANTS TO TAKE ALL OF THE QUESTIONS ON, AT LEAST ANSWER WHAT THE MAXIMUM BUT RATE FOR A BURNED BLURAY SHOULD BE???

What PHAM originally said about BITRATE. (He was explaining to some guy on the forum)   "H.264 is more efficient than MPEG2 HD, most BD movies are using H.264, if your project is short and under 1 hr. I would use CBR at 38000kb/s for video and 448kb/s for audio, at this rate I don't think you can see a difference between those two codec so I would go with MPEG2 HD cuz it is much faster to encode, for longer project with lower bitrate then I would use H.264, if it is longer you better use a bitrate calcultor to give you the average bitrate."
What Geddes said after Pham wrote what he wrote... And then you saw the SMACKDOWN above. And I loved it, ya... Everybody's an expert... Then after the smackdown, Geddes comes back in and agrees with Pham...lol... http://www.dvinfo.net/forum/blu-ray-authoring/474659-coding-best-blu-ray.html Why spew your B.S. all over the net about bitrates if you are not so sure???  What follows is what the Geddes dude wrote. (DON'T LISTEN TO HIM, LISTEN TO PHAM)
Do not encode higher than 25 mbps, as it can cause playback problems on Blu-ray players.
Just like DVD's, burned Blu-ray media has lower reflectivity than pressed commercial discs (store bought movies), and therefore cannot sustain as high of a bitrate during playback.
Some Hollywood Blu-ray discs exceed 40 mbps, but this is only possible because they are pressed.
When using h.264 codec, you can encode at 20 mbps, and it will be near identical to the source.
Use 2-pass variable bitrate for most efficient encoding. You can set the target bitrate at 20 mbps, with a max of 25 mbps. This will give you excellent results, and not cause playback issues.

  • Is it possible to burn a data disc in premiere elements 10?

    Hi,
I would like to know if it is possible to burn a data disc in premiere elements 10 rather than copy a whole project. I understand that I would be able to make further copies from this disc. Is it possible and is this information correct?
    Dave

I am not sure I understand your question... Premiere Elements is a video editing program, with disc output being a MOVIE DVD or BluRay
I think you need to use a different product to write computer files to a DATA disc
For Windows, use the FREE http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download
(send the author a PayPal donation if you like his program)
Read http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1322583 for notes on installing Imgburn WITHOUT any toolbar add-ons
The Elements Tutorial Links Page http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1275830 has links about sharing to a disc

  • Is it possible to burn a SD DVD correctly from an Encore CS6 Blu-ray project and content?

    Hi all,
I shot and edited AVCHD 1080i30 (60i) square pixel video from a Sony NXCAM HXR-NX5U camcorder in Premiere CS6.  I then exported the 1920x1080 edited mpeg2 blu-ray m2v file for import into Encore Cs6.  Burning a blu-ray disc in Encore CS6 from this mpeg2 bluray m2v file is no problem and look great even with the default settings.
However, I also want to burn a standard DVD using the same HD Encore CS6 project without having to go back to Premiere CS6 and output a 710x480 mpeg-dvd file.  I thought i could simply select the dvd format under the build tab in Encore thinking Encore would handle all the necessary conversions to burn a 720x480 DVD but the menus look jaggy and the video does not play smoothly.
Is it possible to burn a standard DVD correctly from an Encore CS6 HD project and content, or is it better to have Premiere CS6 output a 720x480 mpeg-dvd file and create a new standard 720x480 dvd Encore project instead?
Acording to Encore Help, it says "You can build the same project to DVD and Blu‑ray formats no matter which format you select in the New Project or Project Settings dialog box. Encore makes the appropriate adjustments to transcode the elements to the correct format.", but i'm not convinced Encore is doing things correctly.
    Thanks.

    Jim,
I tried a variation on your suggestion.
I exported a new m2v file using the mpeg-dvd from Premiere CS6 as you suggested with "Use Maximum Render Quality" checked to get better scaling from HD to SD. I imported it into my Blu-ray EncoreCS6 project by using the "Replace Asset" option and changed the "Project Settings" authoring Mode to "DVD" leaving the HD menu's "Aspect Ratio" at 16:9.  I then built the disc using the "Build" tab DVD format and output settings.
    It worked!
The jaggies are gone (except for some motion jaggies) and the DVD plays well.
I suppose I could have done something similar within Encore but I'll test that some other time.

  • Is it possible to burn 1 dvd project onto 2 dvd's at the same time?

Is it possible to burn 1 idvd project onto 2 different discs at the same time. i have an external burner so that wont be a problem i am just wondering if it is possible to burn both at the same time

You can't do it out of iDVD.
If you create a disk image file (.img) out of iDVD you MIGHT be able to do so using Roxio's Toast and the .img file.

Mel,  Sure, although that is "copying," not "burning."  It is easily done, as follows:
Insert the USB stick into your computer, and open it up so it looks like a folder.  Highlight the songs you want in iTunes, and drag them into the folder.
If you normally run iTunes in full screen mode, make it smaller so that you can do the drag.

  • Is it possible to burn a movie in full HD quality?

Is it possible to burn a movie in full HD quality?

    Hi,
I found the solution to this after two days of head scratching and frustration.  Here are some of the things I noticed in my investigation of the problem, and the solution:
iDVD does NOT FULLY/CONSISTENTLY support HD or footage that is imported from FCP X -- when it is rendered you will get reduced quality visuals in your DVD.
Using the "create disk image" option to create your DVD has the same end result.
I found my way to success the following way:
Save your original file from FCP X -- note its file size.  If it's a .MOV file you will need to recreate and save to your hard drive because you will need am mpeg file.  Your original .mov file is now simply a reference.
Use FCP X to create an mpeg version of your footage from its share options.
Once done, note the SIZE of the file -- it should be larger than your original file.
Purchase Toast if you don't have it -- I am not a representative for the company... I just like what works --(or use DVD Studio Pro, if you have it) to create your DVD  ~ DO NOT USE iDVD FOR NEXT STEPS ~
    Toast screen shot below:
In Toast, select Video, HD DVD and name your file.  Note the size of the file in the bottom of the window... it should be the same as the mpeg file... if you notice the file size is smaller (or the same as the original file size) you have a setting wrong.
(Since I used Toast I won't reference DVD Studio Pro here... don't want to make this response longer then needed...).
Once you verify the correct file size, make any other selections/changes you like for your DVD, then burn it.
You should end up with a DVD with the quality you are after.
    Good Luck!

  • Is it possible to burn music folders on to an mp3 cd?

I have 6 music albums that I would like to burn on to a CD as MP3 files, is it possible to burn the 6 albums in 6 folders and not just all the songs. I would like to have the songs from each albums in their seperate folders and not 60 songs from 1-60.

I'm sorry but, in iTunes 11.3 if you burn a disc as an "MP3 CD" it will burn ll the tracks in the playlist in the sequential order they are in the playlist with no MP3 going into separate folders with only the song name and playlist order number as file name. To burn a CD with separate folders for different artists and albums select the disc format as "Data CD or DVD". I have had this problem multiple times and I wanted to share this info since, after I read this thread looking for the answer, I just mistakenly burnt another CD with only the songs without them being in separate folders by artist and album.

  • X Is it possible to burn CDs or DVDs using Remote Disk

When trying to burn photos from IPhoto to both my Windows 7 Pro and Macbook but I just get "no devices available for burning" although I can see my shared drives.  Any ideas or is it not possible to burn with Remote Disk?

Thanks shldr2thewheel,  Did read carefully and can access the remote disc on my windows PC to install programs or view files on MacBook Air BUT can't access the windows optical drive to Burn IPhoto file and I've even searched the support doc for "burn' and it doesn't appear even once.  So I still wonder if it is possible to do what I'm trying.  Also noted a number of other people with same/similar question on the forum under "More Like This" but can't find any definite yes or no.  Thank you for taking the time to reply

Is it possible to burn music to thumb drive?

    Jaywalt,
Adding files to a thumb drive does not require burning, only copying.
The easiest way is to insert the drive into a USB port,  highlight the tracks you want in iTunes, and then drag them to the thumb drive.
If you normally run iTunes in full screen mode, make it smaller so that you can do the drag.

  • Unable to burn long movie on Bluray

Longer movies, edited in FCP , converted to QT, won't burn on my external bluray LG-burner. Short movies: no problem.
I get this error code from Toast 10:
    - The drive reported an error
    - Sense key = medium error
    - Sense Code = 0x10
    - Invalid block size for command.
Does anyone know what this means and how to solve the problem?

and I adressed this forum because it is definitely a Mac related problem. < </div>
Maybe, that's just your best guess at the moment.
it's not aht we don't want to help but it's not related at all to FCP. It's a Toast problem because that's the application you have chosen to attempt to burn BD content. FCP gave you the file yo needed to move to Toast, yes?
Contact Toast. But since you've started this thread, when you figure it out, please come back and tell us what you found out form Toast that helped you solve the problem. That will give us some information to help future Toast issues and provide a thread that will pop up in Toast/Blu-ray searches.

  • Possible to burn DVDs of videos purchased from iTunes

Is it possible to burn a DVD of the music videos i purchased with iTunes.
I can't stream the audio portion to my airport express, and i want to listen to this version of "City of Blinding Lights" through my nice stereo, not my computer.
Any thoughts shy of running an audio cable from my sound card through a few walls? =)
    thanks,

Just to verify I've selected all songs and made sure they shared the same information and I've selected "Get Info" and numbered the tracks in order, so yes, I've done the obvioous stuff.

  • Possibility to burn as an CD_ROM?

    Hi there,
is there a plugin for IDVD or any other possibility to burn a small IDVD Project (500kb) on a normal CD-ROM. I dont have got a SuperDrive® or any other DVD burner and Im not having Toast®. Im using "BurnX free" to create my CD ROMs.
What if I export the data on my Harddisk and burn it later at an CD-ROM?
The more I write here the impression jumps at me, how stupid this questions are, so I better quit it!
    Thanx anyway! Kristian

    Not stupid questions at all.
A CD-ROM is deceptively small compared to a DVD and will not hold enough movie for most needs. Uncompressed it will hold about 3 Minutes. With full compression it ought to hold 10 minutes and there is a standard which will play on DVD players. I have seen this as a facility in Toast.
You could export a full quality Quicktime Movie but this would only be playable on a suitably compliant computer.
