Possible to change from CS3 Windows to Mac?

I bought an imac recently, it has CS3 Master collection pre-installed (updatable and working as it should), it's just that it's the windows version and I'm running it through Parallels 3. Would it be possible that Adobe would allow me to change the version to a Mac version??? so i can run it from Leopard??
I have contacted technical support about this 4 days ago, but are yet to reply.

I'll be polite. These guys are out-and-out pirates -- they're actually admitting it! NO legitimate dealer does this B.S. story. If a legitimate dealer sells you or bundles software and installs it for you, they always give you the ORIGINAL factory disks, manuals or quick-start guides, serial numbers, and registration paperwork for you to file.
Plain and simple, you were ripped off. No telling how many other unsuspecting folks (most likely Windows users) were robbed as well.
My recommendation: Please report them immediately to eBay, to Adobe ([email protected]), and law enforcement in their UK jurisdiction. If they have a business license, they should have it revoked. And, by the way, be sure to get your money back.
I'm telling you, if you call Adobe for the crossgrade, you're likely to be very unhappy with their response.
The lesson here is: if a deal sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

I am having problems sncing my iphone4 with i tunes. I have just changed from a windows to mac and from cable sync to iCloud. All works from imac to iPhone. but from phone to imac only partially works.

I canged name of calender on iphone and it has changed on the imac. But none of my previous entries or new entries are going to the iphone. WMA files are 'window media audio' files, which is a Microsoft format. If you want to add them to your iTunes library on your Mac then you will need to convert them into a compatible format first. No. The whole point of the special licensing is that it's meant to support people in education or else the low price wouldn't exactly make sense - if everyone just bought used edu licenses, Adobe would bankrupt in a predictable timeframe.

What operating system are you using?
You don't see the tool options bar (Window>Options) or your looking for the Analysis Menu which is now under Image>Analysis?
You can also get select the ruler tool from the toolbox

I have a new router and computer. I have just remembered that just before my old PC died on me, I transferred my iTunes library to a hard drive. I can't remember exactly just how I got my library back, but there are definately things in my library now that were in my library on my old PC! Hope this makes sense. What do you mean by same location? Do you mean in the same place in the house?
Another difference I have just thought of was my old router was connected directly to the computer bu I have not been able to do this with Sky as my PC is not near a phone socket! Will this make a difference?

You probably have a Core Solo or Core Duo model. You can upgrade the CPU to a 64-bit Core 2 Duo in the T7200-T7600 family.
iFixit and OWC provide easy-to-follow, step-by-step guides. It's a delicate procedure, but not overly difficult. I'm all thumbs, and I have done it twice.

Comme indiqué j'ai changé d'ordinateur windows vers mac OS lion ok. J'ai installé mon lightroom 3 OK.
J'avais mons tockage des photos sur deux disques durs externes 1 de 1to et 1 de 500go sur le 1 to est stocké en plus, d'une partie des photos, mon catalogue
Problème j'ai le catalogue, j'ai les photos, mais pas les deux réunis
le catalogue ne récupère pas l'emplacement des photos qui à changé ce que je comprend.
Comment faire SVP pour que le catalogue, avec les métadonnées et les mots clefs récupère, le nouvel emplacement des photos.

Je m'imagine que vous arrivez à ouvrir le catalogue .
Est-ce que vous voyez des points d'interrogation devant vos dossiers?
Si c'est le cas , clicquez ce dossier avec la souris et choissisez "Trouver dossier manquant" ou qq chose comme ça (traduit de l'anglais).
Et indiquez où les images se trouvent actuellement
Le mieux c'est de faire cela avec le dossier "Images" qui contient tout les autres dossiers images. ( le plus haut dans la structure des dossiers Images)

Unfortunately, the only way to remove a restrictions passcode is to restore your phone as new, without using a backup (because the backup simply restores the restriction passcode back to your phone). You could, of course, restore the backup again and save as much of your data as you can before restoring it as new again. For example, you could use an app like My Contacts Backup to back up your contacts as a vCard attachment to an email that you send to your self. You can later open this email on your phone after restoring it as new and tap the attachment to import your contacts back to your phone. You can also import your photos and videos to your computer as explained here: iOS: Import personal photos and videos from iOS devices to your computer, then sync them back to your phone later or transfer them back over your wifi using an app like PhotoSync.

Hi, I have Creative Design Suite CS3 Student for Mac, is there anyway I can purchase an upgrade for any standard CS6 programs or the Design suite?
I'm mainly interested in photoshop.
I'm not earning any money out of it, I was ready to pay £300-500 for Photoshop full alone but ~£800 for one software is worryingly expensive for me, are there any possible discounts I can find anywhere?
I'm pretty wary on ebay and it doesn't support the company in anyway purchasing from there either.

Hi! I'm from Russia and I am going to buy Mac in Germany and Windows for it. Will it be possible to change the language of Windows to Russian from German??? Is it easy???

W7 Ultimate is the only version that lets you select the language. Here in Portugal if you purchase a computer the shop will change the language of W7, any version, from Portuguese to any other language.
They have extracted the utility from Ultimate and use that to do it.
Probably frowned upon by Microsoft but it works OK. I believe Microsft only let them sell the language of the country but this gets round it for the buyer.

Art board changes from CS3 to CC?

We are updating our workflow, and with it, software. Going from CS3 to the creative cloud. For years we have stuck to CS3 as our downstream customers were slow to update and it was beneficial to provide the product in an older format usable to the broadest user base. Now we are upgrading to CC and I'm experiencing difficulty translating older Illustrator documents to Creative Cloud.
My understanding of the Art board is that it defines the live matter area of the artwork. Along with the Zero Zero point, this would serve as the starting point for image setters. When I preview the translated documents, the art board and the coordinates change. when I distill an eps into a pdf, i get a totally different result than when I save as a PDF within the program. Ive also experinced the zero zero point changing simply by opening the document again. This is making production very difficult as it seems like its not stable.
Anyone experience this in CC and is there a fix for it? See screen grabs below:

B) Manually change the relevant preference settings as follows:
0) Close down Illy (you can only change the preference file with Illy closed);
1) Find and open the AIPrefs (Win speak) or Adobe Illustrator Prefs (Mac speak) file withe a text editor like Notepad or TextEdit; the preference file is a (hidden) file in the (hidden) folder Adobe Illustrator CS5 Settings
2): Find and change the following two bits of code:
/isRulerOriginTopLeft 1 >>> /isRulerOriginTopLeft 0 (change 1 to 0)
/isRulerIn4thQuad 1 >>> /isRulerIn4thQuad 0 (change 1 to 0)
This is a global change so you only have to do it once (just as you can undo it once).
You may find the folder as described in <a href="http://www.bugge.com/Family-and-friends/Illy/illy.html">Move the folder</a>.
Also, it doesn't explain the discrepancy between Distiller and saving as a PDF within CC.
I have no clue about that one, I am afraid. I hope someone else has.

Graphic Change from CS3 to CS5

I created a 3 layer graphic file in CS3 with one layer being text. I imported it into the target application, DVD Studio Pro, and it looked fine. I copied that file onto another computer where I installed the trial version of CS5. (I didn't want to risk messing up my editing computer). I imported that file into DSP on the 2nd computer and it looked fine.
I then opened the CS3 file in CS5. I modified the text, changed nothing else, and saved it as a new file. When I brought the 2nd file into DSP it was changed! It was squeezed. When I look at both in CS5 they look the same with all the same settings. The rotten part of this is I have already created 200 files that I assumed would work!!!!!
So again, file#1 from CS3 looks fine in DSP. Anything new is squeezed and distorted. I REALLY need some help on this to try and save my work - otherwise its back to square 1 and CS5 goes out the window.

I should add that viewing the files in Preview you can see the size of file#2 is been reduced by about 25% even though all the specs are the same.

I'm looking at switching from PC and laptops to a MacBook Pro 15" with retina.
I have a few questions that hopefully you can answer.
1) Can I play and burn Blurays and DVDs with an external drive?
2) Can I transfer purchased windows software eg photoshop to Mac?
3) Is there any replacements due in the near future that I should wait for?
4) Any other pros and cons would be great

1) Can I play and burn Blurays and DVDs with an external drive?
Yes. Depends on who you talk to or what articles you read, but Adobe is currently partial to Panasonic drives. They don't need to say Panasonic on them, just so the mechanism in the case is.
For burning, the OS can burn data disks on Blu-ray, DVD and CD disks, but not movie format. Not even if you already have a completed BDMV or VIDEO_TS folder. For that you would need Toast Titanium and the $20 plug-in which adds video burning support. Don't bother with the much more expensive Pro version, which is really just a bunch of shovelware added to the app.
Cheapest way to buy it is other than from Roxio. Only $40 from Amazon and then apply the $20 rebate, which you'll spend back on the video plug-in, but then it's at least a wash.
2) Can I transfer purchased windows software eg photoshop to Mac?
Don't know if Adobe still does it, but when I switched years ago, you were allowed to cross platform upgrade for the then standard upgrade price of $150. That got me a full version copy of Photoshop for Mac, which it has to be since you have no previous Mac serial number to upgrade from. Also at the time, I was allowed to keep both the Windows and Mac serial numbers. I didn't have to give up the Windows license to move.
If you're using, or plan on using the new Creative Cloud (CC) versions, then you don't need to do anything. You can install both the Mac or Windows versions of any of the products on as many devices as you want. You just can't have more than two active at a time.
If you want a perpetual license though, better hurry while Adobe is still selling the boxed version of CS6.
3) Is there any replacements due in the near future that I should wait for?
As noted, 10.9 Mavericks is not that far off. It's been announced for a Fall release. Which by the calendar, can be as late as December 20. Better though to have Mountain Lion at first, which has gone through the bug fix iterations and not starting with 10.9.0.
4) Any other pros and cons would be great
Those are always kind of hard to explain. For one, expect the Mac to actually be a bit confusing at first. While simple things like files and folders, drives, saving files, opening apps and other mundane stuff is easy, where things are on the drive can be very different.
Things like there is no Registry (a very good thing). App preferences are instead almost all in one place; the aptly named Preferences folder in your user account.
Fonts are in three places instead of one (a UNIX thing). There's a Fonts folder in the System folder, one in the Library folder which all user accounts can access, and another in your user account where you can isolate fonts only for your use.
Like any new OS, it takes a bit of time for the entire system to make sense and learn how it's laid out. It would the same as moving from Windows to Linux. Familiar, but at the same time, confusingly different.
Virus? What's that? Seriously, it's still a computer, and the perps will try to attack the Mac more and more as it gains market share. In all the time I've owned Macs, I've never spent a cent on AV software. Watch these boards for discussions of real new threats (which are few and far between). Stay away from adult, torrent and other less than trustworthy web sites and you'll likely never see a problem. At least for now.
