Possible to color an entire page in Pages ?

I would like to know if it is possible in Pages to have the entire page colored (not white) and still be  able to add text and photos on top of the colored page (much like one can in Keynote).
I do short reports and I thought it might be nice to vary the background color of the pages.
Many thanks for helping.

Dear Peter,
Many thanks ... how do I create a colored object ?  And how do I send it as a background master object.
One way that I just tried that seems to work is this :  I create a text box, color it with Fill, and then expand it to coer the entire page. Then I add photos on top and Text boxes which I of course fill with text. It seems to work.
Is that the method you are suggesting ?
Look forward to hearing from you,  Don in California

Is it possible to change the color of imported art in pages, say from B&W to a color?  ... or even to make it a gradation of color?

Make a Shape > Inspector > Graphic > Tinted Image Fill > Scale to fit > browse to image > click on the color patch to change the color to what you want
    or
Drag in an image > overlay it with a Shape > select the color for the shape and change its Opacity
Shapes may have Gradient and Advanced Gradient (multiple colors) fills both linear and radial. Both are in the Graphic Inspector as is Opacity.

    Hi Jay,
I've played with this before, but I was never happy with the result. I gave it another shot to answer your question, and I'm pretty pleased with this result. I'll say that you have a lot of latitude for adjustments in this template, so don't take it as being restrictive to what I'm illustrating. For instance, you can easily vary the line spacing, the weight of the lines, the color, etc.
In this example, the pitch of the lines is 32 points per line, blue stroke, and I placed a light yellow shape in the background. Here's the approach...
Open a blank Word Processing Template.
    View > Show Layout.
Pages Preferences > Rulers > Ruler Units: Points.
    Insert > Table.
Set the Table to 1-column, 0 Header Rows, and Footer Rows, Row Height = 32 points.
In the Wrap Inspector, set the table to Floating, and Does NOT cause Wrap.
Align the Top Left of the Table with the top Left of the Text Area.
Increase the Column Width until the single column extends all the way across the Text Area.
Increase the number of Rows until the table just fills the vertical Text Area of the page layout, plus one row..
Set the Outside Cell Borders to None.
Set the Mid Horizontal borders to Blue.
With the entire Table Selected, Arrange > Send Object to Background. Format >Advanced > Move Objects to Section Master, Arrange > Lock
If you want the colored background, Insert > Object > Rectangle. Graphics Inspector > Stroke > None. Color > your choice.
Stretch the Shape to cover the entire page size. Arrange > Send Object to Background. Format > Advanced > Send Objects to Section Master.
If the colored object is obscuring the lines, then: Arrange > Send Backward. In either case, Arrange > Lock.
Paste a good size paragraph (several lines) into the document.
Select the text. In the Text Inspector, set line spacing to Exactly and 32 Points.
Inspect the alignment of the Text and the Lines. If you are not pleased, Select the Table and bump it up or down with the vertical Arrow keys.
If you are satisfied, with the overall effect, Select all the Text and Type: Click here and enter text. Select the text "Click here and enter text." and Format > Advanced > Define as Placeholder Text. Lastly, File > Save as Template.
As I mentioned at the outset, you can easily modify these instructions to increase or decrease the number of lines per page, the type size, etc.
If you want to email me, I'll send you a copy of the template I displayed here.
    Regards,
    Jerry

  • Combining color and black-and-white pages in a single pdf

I have a document in which I have a few images with colors. The document needs to be printed but currently the whole document is in color so the costs are expensive. I want to convert the pages without the images to black-and-white and keep the color pages as is. I saw that it is possible to convert the colors of a pdf document from color to black-and-white using Acrobat Professional. Is it possible to convert only certain pages? If not, I am thinking of spliting my document, converting the text pages, and then merging them back with the color pages. Will that keep the original color settings? Basically - can I have some pages in gray scale and others in color within the same document? Thanks!
(The document is to be printed elsewhere, so I can't just print separately the gray scale and color pages).

You you separate the pages, convert the colors spaces and recombine, each page will retain the new color space.

  • Is it possible to put a watermark across all pages of a Numbers document (i.e.:  DRAFT).  Thanks.

Is it possible to put a watermark across all pages of a Numbers document (i.e.:  DRAFT)?  Thanks.

You can include a water mark when priting by selecting the "Watermark" section from the print dialog.:
If this watermark feature is part of the printer driver and you don;t have this feature you can add a text box, then rotate the box 45 deg, make the font the color and texture you want, then copy and paste it to each page of you document:
You can place this text below ar above other content as you see fit by using the menu item "Arrange > Bring To Front" or "Arrange > Send To Back"

  • Report footer = Entire size of page, CR still breaks section

I have a report that has large text boxes in a report footer.  The section is checked "Keep Together" so it will print in its entirety on the last page of the report.  I also have a rather large page header that occupies probably the top third of the page.  I want the page header to print on all the pages but the last one.  It is formatted to be suppressed when PageNumber=TotalPageCount.
No matter what I try, the report footer gets printed on more than one page with the page header showing on the second to last page.  Each of the text boxes in the report footer are scaled to encompass the entire printed page from top to bottom.  Crystal should not be breaking the report footer into any components since they are all so large. But it keeps printing the page header on the page following the data (despite the above suppression condition) and causes the next section, the report footer, to print on two pages.
How can I achieve my desired result?  Thanks.
I have Crystal Version 14.0.4.738 RTM used in conjunction with SAP Business One.

    Thanks Jamie,
I tried what you suggested, but it didn't work.
The report footer is actually in two sections (A,B).  Report footer A prints at the bottom of the page. Report footer B is a whole page of text.  I moved report footer A to be the group footer above, leaving the whole page of text as the only report footer section.  With this new alignment, the report footer is on the last page as desired, but the page header doesn't work correctly.  It prints on every page but the last two.  I think this is because there are 9 group footer sections and 1 report footer section after the last record in the detail section.  There's quite a lot of report after "OnLastRecord".
If there's only a few records in the report, it will work fine (page1=report, page2=footer).  But when the number of records bumps sections onto more pages, the page header and footer don't work as desired. I'll keep trying different strategies including making the page header a subreport.
    Thanks.
If anyone else has any ideas, please help!

  • Captivate 5.5 Is it possible to import PPT slides in Notes Page view?

    Hello experts,
This may seem like an odd question. I'd like to display all the notes in the page of a PowerPoint deck that provides samples of code and explaintions of what the code is doing. It is too much information for the slide, which just has discussion point bullets, and I think it is too much for the closed caption pane. It this possible to import PPT slides in Notes Page view?
Thank you so much in advance for any hints, tips, and replies.
    Kindest regards,
    P

I found an alternative but circuitous way of achieving the desired result. In PowerPoint I opened, then I printed the PPT presentationto a PDF selecting the Notes Page option instead of Full Slide. By then using a PDF converter to convert it back to PPT I was able to insert the  PPT as is. In other words it "looks" just like the PPT Notes Page view, which is exactly what I wanted. The code snippet and notes were intact.

It's not the comment field which is a restrictive description.
In fact it's the window's background.

IIs it possible to retrieve deleted items from the Pages App? Thanks

From within the Pages app, no. If you have an iTunes or iCloud backup that would have contained the file, and you are backing up Pages, it could be received via a restore using that backup (this would wipe out any newer data however).
