Possible to create folder during batch rename?

I use bridge to sort my photos, and store them in a file structure such as:
Photos/2010-12-24-ChristmasEveParty/2010-12-24-ChristmasEveParty-001.jpg
Photos/2010-12-24-ChristmasEveParty/2010-12-24-ChristmasEveParty-nnn.jpg
Using the batch rename, it's easy to rename them this way, and copy them to my file server. The only manual step is to create the folder 2010-12-24-ChristmasEveParty (in this case).
Anyone know if it's possible to have Bridge create this folder also? I'm typing in the name as part of the file naming anyway...

You might go to tools/photoshop and see if either the batch or image processor might work for you. Perhaps could write action to include in rename.

Batch rename stops working after initial folder

So I have a tonne of video frames to rename.
I batch rename the first folder with about 1000 images. Everything works fine.
I go to next folder, click batch rename...nothing happens. I try everything including purging cache and trying again...nothing.
Only thing that works is when I restart Bridge.

This can be a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

Batch Rename Order Getting Mixed Up

When batch renaming a large amount (usually over 100) of RAW NEF photos, in the format of YEAR_Month_DAY_TIME_#### (where #### is a 4 digit sequence number) EX/ 2014_10-25-122506_0001, the files get renamed and when sorted by file name are in order, however the 4 digit sequence number gets mixed up somewhere along the way.
It usually happens after the mid hundreds.
Example, I had apx 900 images in one folder I batched renamed, and the sequence number progressed properly from _0001 to _0191, but then the next image went straight to _0232.
Any one else experience this issue or have any ideas as to a solution? Very frustrating issue.

Thanks, Tulse... i'm glad that it's an issue that can be reproduced by others. I'm amazed that it hasn't come up (perhaps it has) in the time since Keynote was released. I'm even more amazed that what seems like such a significant bug hasn't been addressed yet. I just hope a new version of Keynote is coming soon that will address things like this.
The reason i'm doing so many build ins and build outs is because i want the content of the slides to transition independently of the background. This is something i would love to see in the next version of Keynote.
For example, i'm using a looping video clip as the background, with our company logo superimposed over it. I'd like for the foreground text and other graphical elements to transition from slide to slide, but leave the background constantly looping. So instead of an empty black "stage", i can have 3D effects applied at the slide level without disturbing my own background.
Anyway... i tried using the blank slide as an intermediary and did not have the success that you did. Build orders still ended up different from those on the master slide.
I wonder if the builds need to be created in the order in which i want them to appear... it seems like new slides may be ignoring the order in which the builds have been dragged around in the Build Order inspector on the Master, and instead, executing them in the order in which they were created.

I know that it's possible to make a droplet for preflight, but is it possible to create a droplet or a hot folder for another batch processes (mine crops the pages)? Or at least make a keyboard shortcut? It's so unproductive to go Advanced>Document Processing>Batch Processing>Run>Close (Adobe spoiled us with custom shortcuts in other programs)...

Parking not possible during batch input

Hello,
Iu2019m facing a problem for creating a parked vendor invoice in background (Tcode FB60 / FV60) thru BDC or BAPI.
I looked for a BAPI and I just found "BAPI_ACC_INVOICE_RECEIPT_POST", for posting FI invoice : it doesnu2019t correspond to our requirements (we need to park).
Then I used "PRELIMINARY_POSTING_DOC_WRITE" for parking an invoice but when we see the parked invoice in FBV2, the displayed Tcode is like FBV1. The users want the vendor invoice header, I mean the same screen as FB60.
Finally, I tried to use Batch Input to park but I got the following message :
"Parking not possible during batch input"
Message no. FP140
Procedure
In Customizing, you can control whether an error message is issued."
I found nothing in IMG about control message
And in sdn forums, some said that bdc doesnu2019t work for an enjoy transaction (MIRO, MIR7, FB60 ..) but we already created a BDC for MIR7 and it works.

You will need to manage the error messages in your program.(no SM35) one solution is to build the BDC for records with errors.

Can't Use Batch Rename "Rename In Same Folder" for some photos

Have a strange problem: when using "Batch Rename…" under the "Tools" menu, "Rename In Same Folder" is unusable for some photos taken with some cameras, not for others. For one example, I shift-selected a range of photos taken at a recent vacation, some with my iPhone, some with my girlfriend's Canon PowerShot SD450. Bridge renamed the iPhone photos, but not Canon photos. For another example, if I select a single photo taken by her cell phone or Canon camera, "Rename In Same Folder" is grayed-out; if I select a single photo taken my by iPhone, not so. Does anyone understand this behavior, and is there a solution?

Bridge Support Center in the help menu leads to a 404 error page.
Sadly enough this is also on my system (Mac OSX 10.6.8) It should not be showing 404 but it is there...

In general restarting Bridge holding down option key (in your case alt key) to choose reset preferences solves most problems.

I want to use Bridge batch rename to change jpegs into Mac PC compatible jpegs.
Although I have the option for compatibility with Unix and Windows checked in my customized presets I'm not really aware of the need for that. If you have a .JPG or .jpg extension as the extension a Mac reeds and opens the file without problems. I am aware that as a Mac user I had the need to take care of Windows files in the past. Before OSX a Mac did not need an extension to recognize and open a file. Since OSX is Unix based the need to use an extension is there and also you should only use one dot (.) in the filename and that is before the extension at the end of the filename. Using spaces, commas etc is possible but not prefered. In basic, keep it simple (and short) and the file will open on all systems without problems.
When you select a preset, the rename and preview buttons grey out. So I start all over...clear cache, check file permissions, restart/shutdown, etc
That should not happen, presets and batch rename should be always available, even if you have only one file selected. You should start with the refreshing of the preferences. Deleting caches and checking file permissions are not needed every time for clearing prefs (although it is wise to maintain your system on a regular basis, but that is good for the use of all apps).
On a Mac the user defined Batch Rename settings are saved in the user library / application support / Adobe/ Bridge CS5 / Batch rename setting. (not a single clue how that translate to windows but I have no reason to believe that such a file should not be present on your system.)
Enter the term "batch rename" in the windows Bridge forum search and I got....ZERO results.
Well, again a disappointment, there will be many result available in both Windows and Mac forum but it sure is not easy to find them
The forum search option is next to useless. I believe you should try to switch to the main forum page or something, I once had a result but after so many tries I forgot how I managed this (combined with getting angrier every try...)

As stated before, if the are .jpg they are already compatible
it used to be in CS 3 and 4 but since I "upgraded" to Production Premium suite 5.5 none of the version work.
If you keep having problems you might consider the clean tool option to clear PSCS 3 and 4. Check also this KB article:

It should be possible to use all CS versions on your system but you can have only one version of Bridge active at the time. Upgrading from a single CS to a Suite should also be possible without problems but sadly enough everything that should be possible without problems is often only happening in the ideal world...

Batch rename by date created??

I made the huge mistake of setting up my camera to restart the image count everytime I put a new memory card in, then I transfered them all to my computer, erased the cards only to then realize I've got a bunch of photos with the same name. Not a huge problem but now Lightroom only finds one of the two files with the same name.
My solution is to do a batch rename in Bridge but that didn't work because it used the file names for the order. What I want is all the files to be name 0001-1500 in the order they were taken. Can this be done?
Other ideas? Or maybe someone knows how to get Lightroom to see both?

In Bridge use the path bar icon (showing sort by filename, top right side
Bridge window) and change this to date created, now they will be showing in
two separate sequence order groups. Select the files per session and then
choose batch renaming.
If you don't have the path bar active use the menu view-sort.
Be aware that you can auto rename the files in both Lightroom and Bridge
(with Photodownloader) during file ingestion from card reader. You might
also want to include the creation date (yyyymmdd) and sequence number to it
so it auto renames them to a correct date and when choosing a 4 digit
sequence number it is very unlikely double filenames will happen ever again,

Batch rename / renumber images in folder..problem :(

I am trying to rename/renumber a folder of 100 pictures, so they are all in 3 digits, but remain in the order & have the same number associated with the same file. Right now the folder is numbered 1, 2, 3, 4, etc.. I attempted to do the batch rename through Photoshop to make the folder 001, 002, 003.etc, BUT when I did this, the first picture 1 turned into 001..which is great...but the old 2 turns into 002, but is actually what 10 used to be.
19 turns into 011 instead of 019
40 turns into 035 instead of 040
Why is Photoshop changing the original number to a 3 digit, but changing the number it should have been. I just want it to be 001, 002, 003, 004, 005, 006, 007, 008, 009, 010, 011, 012...
Seems so simple..but I'm missing something!

Isn't it clear that the Adobe software is accessing the files purely alphabetically, rather than numerically?

Windows Explorer, on the other hand, has a more sophisticated sorting algorithm that marries alphabetic and numeric sorting of filenames, because Microsoft realized that people like you often want to see things in numeric sequence - so you will see the files on disk appearing in the order you expect, even though it's not alphabetic.
I believe you've already been given the answer: Use an application other than the ancient Adobe software to do the file renaming. Several alternatives have already been named.

I have an error when creating new folders, it renames the folder below it to the same name (super - next folder - parent's next sibling...)

if I try to add a new folder to a sub folder, the program does add the new bookmark folder, but it also renames the next folder in line in the parent of the original "subfolder" to the exact same name...
maybe I just need to reload the mozilla, maybe I was hacked and that is what they changed...
I also have a similar problem with microsoft explorer, every time I try to add a new folder it gives it a starting wierd name besides "New Folder"

FV50 - Parking not possible during batch input

Dear SDN,
our client has a custom program for GL Document batch input through TCode FV50.
Though the answer should not be, the question here is very straightforward: why, in this program, the mentioned error occurs for some users, but not for others, giving ALL the input parameters are the same???
1 - Batch input runs
2 - FV50 is displayed
3 - (Menu) Document -> Park
4 - Error: FP140 - Msg: "Parking not possible during batch input"
Note: User who gets the error has ALL the authorizations that users who don't get the error have.
Any suggestion is highly appreciated.

Is it possible to create framework folder libraries in teh standard web interface

I'm just setting up a system and using a VDI so it will take me a while to get the desktop integration installed. Using the standard 16200/cs web interface, under the top level of framework folders is Enterprise libraries and I want to create some libraries under the but there's only View and Search options available. is it possible to create them using the old interface?

Is it possible to create a form which can be filled out during service work and then printed

I want to build a form that I can fill out on my laptop as I perform service work. The work being performed varies from job to job. I would like to be able to print out only the work I perform, and not have a bunch of blank spaces for things not done. Is that possible with this program?

It might be, but the type of thing you're describing is perhaps better implemented with a dynamic XFA form created with Adobe's LiveCycle Designer, which came with Acrobat prior to version 11 and is now a separate product. It allows you do add/remove groups of fields (e.g., one or more rows, an entire sections, etc.) at run-time, causing the form to expand/contract as the fields are added/removed. This involves some scripting. There is a forum for Designer here where you can ask more questions.
It's possible to create a form with Acrobat that dynamically adds entire pages (templates) at run-time, overlays the contents of a (normally hidden) template on an existing page, as well as show/hide fields, but automatic reflow of page contents is more problematic. This too involves scripting and you can ask about it in this or the Acrobat JavaScript forum.
