Possible to download specific file from TC using a URL?
I've got a Time Capsule third generation with 2 terras of storage. I've configured the file sharing to accounts and I've also shared the disks over WAN so I can log on to my time capsule from an external IP adress by typing afp://"and my IP adress here" in the safari address bar and log onto my disks and access my files from anywhere. However! Is there anyway I can make a download URL for a specific file which I can give to for example a friend of mine so he can download that file and that file only using the URL without having to log on to TC with a password or account?
I can imagine I will need to setup a kind FTP port or something... in which case the download URL will look a little like this: ftp://"myIP"/TCdisk/Folder/file.mov
Am I onto something here?
No, there is no ftp server in the TC so it won't work.. upload the file to service. There are tons of places on the web whereby you can share a few files.. google sites excellent.

Retrieve latest revision of a file from perforce using web url
Hello,
I am trying to retrieve the latest revision of a file from perforce using the web url and powershell. e.g.
$Pforce = "perforce.test.com/@md=d&cd=//music/Database/DBA%20Scripts/&cdf=//msc/Database/DBA%20Scripts/20scrub%20script.sql&c=don@//music/Database/DBA%20Scripts/common%20script.sql"
$CommonScrub = Invoke-WebRequest $Pforce
I am getting an error message below about invalid header. Does anyone have any ideas what this means and how to fix it?
Is there another method I can use to get the files from perforce using powershell. Has anyone done this?
Invoke-WebRequest : The server committed a protocol violation. Section=ResponseHeader Detail=Header name is invalid
At E:\scripts\GetHTML_Headers.ps1:3 char:16Hi,
You can set the headers via the -Headers parameter (this only works in V4):
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh849901.aspx
Also,
from this article:
Error: The server committed a protocol violation
The Exception will tell what the HTTP protocol violation is:
"The server committed a protocol violation. Section=ResponseHeader Detail=Header
name is invalid"
Fix the server to conform to the HTTP RFCs to avoid this error. .NET is a stickler that the HTTP Protocol be followed.

Is it possible to pickup a specific file from a folder?
Hi
I am wondering whether it is possible to pick a specific file from a folder. I have a shape where I have got a filename and I need to look for it in a folder.
Is that possible?
And how can I achieve this? The next step is to pick the file up and transfer it to another location. So basically in pseudo code I need to ask my defined folder with a filename as parameter. Get the file and move it to another folder.
Suggestions are most appreciated. ThanksAssuming you are using orchestration, you could
create an assembly, install it in the GAC, add a reference to it in your BTS
project, and call it from an Expression shape to resolve the receive
location. You would only really need one static method in a class. Be sure
to add a reference to Microsoft.BizTalk.ExplorerOM.dll.
Example:
using Microsoft.BizTalk.ExplorerOM;
namespace Phil
public class OrchestrationHelpers
public static string ResolveReceiveLocationName(string
inboundTransportLocation, string receivePortName)
BtsCatalogExplorer bts = new BtsCatalogExplorer();
bts.ConnectionString =
"SERVER=localhost;DATABASE=BizTalkMgmtDb;Trusted_Connection=True;Network
Library=DBMSSOCN;"
foreach (ReceiveLocation location in
bts.ReceivePorts[receivePortName].ReceiveLocations)
if (location.Address == inboundTransportLocation) return location.Name;
return null;
In your Expression shape within your orchestration, assuming a message
called "MyMessage" and a string variable "receiveLocationName":
receiveLocationName =
Phil.OrchestrationHelpers.ResolveReceiveLocationName(MyMessage(BTS.InboundTransportLocation),
MyMessage(BTS.ReceivePortName));

How to download a file from Oracle UCM using OSB
Hi,
How can I download a file from Oracle UCM and save it on a filesystem using OSB 11.1.1.5.
ThanksUCM supplies webservice interfaces which let you retrieve the filecontent by soap calls from UCM (http://ucmhost/_dav/cs/idcplg for example). (maybe you should enable some settings on ucm to have this webservice interface getting published).
This services for example has 2 operations getFileByID and getFileByName.
So you can just call these services from within OSB.
After that you need to do some tests if you eitherway need to create a file-transport business-service and call this one from your proxy service or create a messageType proxyservice (binary) which calls this file-transport business service to be able to write fo filesystem.
I think for the OSB book i used a jca file adapter generated in Jdeveloper and used that one to write to filesystem. -
How to Download a file from web server using servlets
how do we download a file from Java Web Server connecting to oracle database
it should start as soon a i click a button in my html browser
please reply as it is needed to complete my project to submited to the collageWith SQLJ you can do it.
When you look at:
http://otn.oracle.com/sample_code/tech/java/sqlj_jdbc/files/basic/basic.htm
or
http://otn.oracle.com/sample_code/tech/java/sqlj_jdbc/files/advanced/advanced.htm
There are samples for reading LONGRAW / BLOB from Database. If you want use it in servlet you have to pass the result to the responce object, set the correct mime-type and set the response.setContentLength( xx). This is for some PlugIns nessessary (pdf).

How to download a file from server machine to client machine using jsp
Hi,
In my application, I have an excel file stored on my server machine. How can I download that excel file on to my client machine using jsp. Is there any other way I can open that file from my machine and save it in my machine using jsp/java?
Its an emergency for me to do this.
Can anyone provide me the full code to download a file from server machine as I don't have
time to browse through various sites.
thanks in advance,
TiijnarPlease post your code using code tags (click on CODE above the text area, when posting)
response.setContentType("application/octet-stream");Why octet-stream? Set the correct mime-type.
String disHeader = "Attachment; Filename=\"filename\"";The filename should just be the file's name. Not the complete path to the file! This will tell anyone where the file is located on the server. It's also inconvenient because by default,the browser will suggest it as the name for the download.
Your way of writing to the output stream is just plain wrong. See this snippet (picked from [http://balusc.blogspot.com/2007/07/fileservlet.html])
BufferedInputStream input = null;
BufferedOutputStream output = null;
try {
// Open streams.
input = new BufferedInputStream(new FileInputStream(file), DEFAULT_BUFFER_SIZE);
output = new BufferedOutputStream(response.getOutputStream(), DEFAULT_BUFFER_SIZE);
// Write file contents to response.
byte[] buffer = new byte[DEFAULT_BUFFER_SIZE];
int length;
while ((length = input.read(buffer)) > 0) {
output.write(buffer, 0, length);
// Finalize task.
output.flush();
} finally {
// Gently close streams.
close(output);
close(input);

RajeshHi,
For file down load u have to use a UI element as "File download".
u just create context attribute as setdownload_res and file data.
setdownload_res as of type "com.sap.ide.webdynpro.uielementdefinitions.Resource" then bound it to the ui element "resource".
file data as of type "com.sap.tc.webdynpro.progmodel.api.IWDInputStream"
and set calcuclated as true and read only as true.
then in doinit method u just write this code
IWDAttributePointer attr = wdContext.currentContextElement().getAttributePointer("fileData");
IWDResource res = WDResourceFactory.createResource(attr,null,WDWebResourceType.UNKNOWN);
wdContext.currentContextElement().setDownload_res(res);
wdComponentAPI.getMessageManager().reportSuccess(""+c);
after this in the getter method u write this code
IWDInputStream stream = null;
try
stream = WDResourceFactory.createInputStream(new FileInputStream(new File("<pathof the file to be download>")));
catch(Exception e)
e.printStackTrace();
return stream;

Problems in Downloading a file from a web site using HttpClient
Hi,
My requirement is to download a file from a website using a java program. I have written a program using HttpClient API but I am unable to do so. Reality is that I don't know how to proceed with the HttpClient API to get the file downloaded. Same file can also be downloaded manually by login to that website, below mentioned steps are to be followed to download the file manually.
1. Login to the website using Login/Password (I have valid login/password)
2. Two options (links) are there (a) Report (b) Search [I am chosing report option]
3. Newly opened window shows two tabs (a) Today (b) From & To [I am selection Today tab]
4. Every tab has two radio button (a) File (b) Destination [Destination is selected by me]
5. When Search button is pressed. A link gets created when that link is clicked file download popup is opened which allows facility to open/save the file.
All these 5 step are to be followed in a java program to download the file. Please help in doing the same.// first URL which is used to open the website, this will have two text fields userName and password
