Possible to get "Live" recording playback with X-FI Xtre

Hi, I have the X-Fi soundblaster card, and I want to know how I can get "Li've" playback through my speakers, i used to use a cheapo soundcard through the motherboard and it was fine, but with the X-Fi, there is lag.
For example, I have RCA cables plugged into the front Auxiliary ports, these are set to record audio, however, the audio coming from the computer speakers is about second behind the actual audio, why is there a lag/buffer with the sound?
I want realtime playback and recording? is something wrong?

Are you sure you don't use software monitoring feature for output (direct monitoring should not have much latency). If that wasn't your issue, you need to use ASIO device driver to get low enough latency (as like 2-5 ms). I don't know if you can set this as global for every source in X-Fi mixer (creation mode) ... if not (i.e. you need some software that supports ASIO) then, try w/ Hermann Seib's VSTHost -> stream the input through this software using ASIO drivers (latency set to as low as needed). You need to add one VST plugin (like EQ, volume control, meters, etc.) into signal path w/ this software. Sure there are others you can use. VST plugins can be found from KVR. It's easy to set up ... just set
- install the plugin(s) you want add into signal path and the VSTHost application
Settings needed in VSTHost:
- audio device to ASIO -> Devices...Wave..ASIO (set driver, samplerate and buffer size (52)
- I/Os -> Devices...ASIO Channel Selection (for output either wave or front, for input the port you have connevted your external source)
- latency -> Devices...ASIO Control Panel (set to 5ms)
- add plugin -> File...New Plugin... select th one you like to use (you can add several but you need to modify some parameters to get signal routed through all added either as parallel or serial.
- for recording ... open the recorder settings panel...make settings (channels, bit-depth)

Is it possible to get Siri to work with 'old' Car handsfree systems?
Unless I'm missing something - Siri doesn't work well with older handsfree car systems - as typically the cars built in system handles the voice control and relays the request to the phone over bluetooth protocols. I tried initiating siri standalone while connected to the car and it failed.
I was hoping I might be able to do some sneaky like 'Call Siri' to enter Siri mode but it doesn't seem to work.
I'm guessing future Car handsfree systems will be Siri aware - but making Siri work with older systems (and my car isn't old - it's a 2011 model) would be very useful.
Has anyone come up with a workaround? I really don't want to have to buy or use a bluetooth ear piece

You would have to buy it separately. Refurbished machines are sold as they were originally configured so you cannot customize the machine when you order it.

I am making a recording of some slides in a captivate e learning course to be used as a demo for the course. Please could someone tell me if its possible to get my recording to record roll over captions. If I click on the roll over link rather than let the mouse just roll over it, in the recording it records the caption box but before the mouse path gets to it which gives an inaccurate picture of what happens, if I don't click anything then it doesn't record that I rolled my mouse over it. I'm hoping its a setting somewhere. I did try and add the captions as an image but then it doesn't show a mousepath aaaagggghhhhh!!! Any help or hint would be greatly appreciated.

I'm confused by your description. Are you saying you have created a Captivate that you are playing back, and recording the Captivate you created using Captivate?

If the PO has workflows associated with it, there is a table SWIWIOBJCT which stores details of the workitem, object key , object type details.
If you input the object key to this table ( For ex: PO number in this case) , it will give you the corresponding object type for the object key for Workitem type F.

How do I get live audio playback through headphones while recording a performance of a song on iMovie through external mic?

Hard to explain but hopefully I can get the question across. If anyone can give me some tips on how this will work it would be greatly appreciated!
I like to perform songs of my own in iMovie and upload them to YouTube. The problem I am running into is when I try to record the song through an external microphone the sound will not playback (while recording) through my headphones. The audio and video do record just fine but I would like to be able to hear through my headphones WHILE I record into my external microphone so I can hear how it sounds as I sing. Is this possible? As I stated before, everything works fine but I cannot hear how I sound WHILE I am recording through my headphones. Thats all I want lol. Thanks!!

Live Recording Playback

I've just advanced from Garage Band to Logic Express 8 and I'm having difficulty recording my live guitar. My microphone works perfectly well, but picks up sound and immediatley plays them through my headphones, just like an amp - except it's a few miliseconds behind (even though it is set to 0). So, when I press record, I'm struggling to listen to my pre-recorded tracks and my delayed live playback. Is there any way I can mute the live playback? This wasn't a problem in Garage Band. These are typical monitoring problems. You need to get familiar with the professional monitoring options that are available to you in Logic; in particular, Software Monitoring & Auto Input Monitoring.
It does take a while to get your head round which one does what when you're not familiar with the program, but the thing to do is to read the manual really carefully — then all will become clear.
The delay you're hearing, BTW, is called Latency — so you might like to check that out as well.
I'm sure you'll get it sorted pretty quick, so best of luck!

Is it possible to get live YouTube Analytic s Data on a Application?

My name is Nick and I'm currently trying to develop a feature for my staff members to log into, which will allow them to do many things, but I would like them to be able to receive live data, from each YouTube accounts analytic's data.
I've looked online but i couldn't see anything, it would be a great feature for my staff to be able to look into the live data of each of our YouTube channels and it would be a powerful feature to have for our business.
Can someone tell me if this is possible and point me in the right direction?

Can't get real time playback with Cineform 3D muxed files

Hey all,
AE user for 20 years but new to PP. Getting it setup for a sterescopic editing system.
Problem: 3D (1920 x 1080 29.97) fies created in FirstLight...won't play in RT in PP or Firstlight for that matter.
I am feeding an external passive stereo monitor via HDMI 1.4. I have MPE enabled. I am using a Cineform preset sequence. I have a fairly fast raid for the media. But it won't play in RT. Even lowering the resolution doesn't seem to help much. Is there something I am missing?
While it could be a hardware problem, I doubt it. Because when I play the 3D muxed files in Windows Media Player, and drag it over to my 3D external monitor, it plays just fine...like silk in RT stereo. (minus the metadata of Cineform of course) But in PP or Firstlight...stutters.
BTW, is there window inside AE that lets you know the actual framerate you're getting on playback, like AE?
Please, any suggestions would be helpful...this new 3D edit system is no good to me now. Thanks in advance.

Last I have heard there is a bug in Cineform's preset/player right now where it is not using the acceleration at all inside of Adobe. That was with files that were converted from Red to Cineform however the performance even at 1080 was horrible. Cineform seemed to process the material at the resolution it was rather than what is was set to scale. I would not be surprised if the 3D playback is doing the same thing. You need to contact Cineform on this one. If it's happening in First Light then the issue is with Cineform's player.
BTW the work around in 2D is to switch to a custom preset and use the Adobe I-Frame algorithm for preview. However I doubt that will work for the 3D material.

PDA Bluetooth keyboard: possible to get it to work with Arch?

I have an old Bluetooth keyboard that was originally intended to be used for one of those Palm PDAs that came out like six or eight years ago. I successfully paired this device with my Laptop (Thinkpad X60t). However, the only service exhibited by this device is "SPP slave". The keyboard doesn't identify as a HID, as it seems. I don't know the exact model; it's one of those foldable models by GeneralKeys.
Using sudo cat /dev/rfcomm0, I can verify that key presses on the keyboard actually reach my laptop. However it's all gibberish, e.g. pressing the sequence hjkl<enter> results in the string (g)h*i+j.m being output. Is there any way to somehow to convert/attach this device's output so that I can use the keyboard as a proper HID?

I am not familiar with the device, but from your description, I would say it is unlikely. Your device appears to be using an SPP (Serial Port Protocol); It is much simpler than a HID implementation.
You might look to see if the system creates an event interface in /dev/input when you associate the keyboard. If so, it may be possible to do something with evdev.
I cannot offer any suggestions, except that it would make an interesting project.

Is it possible to get the my searchengines back vertical with text as it always was, instead of seeing only the icons ?

in the menu bar at the top, there's the search bar. I have a lot of searchengines, and they show up when you press on the magnifying glass.
however since the latest update i guess. I only see the icons of my searchengines.
Is it possible to get them back vertically with text on the right of the icons. because i had them arranged in a specific order and knew exactly where the click when i performed a specific search.
now with only icons, it is more difficult because i have to hover over them to see the text which icon wich searchengine is.
so, i hope i can get them back to show up vertically :) with accompanied text.

Live-Playback get´s more jerky with growing resolution

Hi all,
have a question concerning the playback of Live content
on my laptop with a i7 920 (shows 8 cores).
With growing video resolution the picture get´s more jerky:
720x576 ~ 5% CPU Power
1280x720 ~ 10% CPU
1440x800 ~12% CPU
1920x1080 ~15% CPU, all with 25fps.
All resolutions are encoded live with 4.5MBit Main Profile H264 and AAC. 720x576 and 1280x720 is perfect,
1440x800 little bit jerky, and 1920x1080 more jerky (every 1-5 sec a frame skip/drop/wrong sequence???)
Due my CPU Power seams to be enough I did not have an explanation for such a behaviour.
What could be the reason - is it possible to get the HD Resoltuions also smooth?

i am getting this error when no other user connected to same data base and only one session is opened.
i am getting this error under below case.
there are 3 fields in a multiple record block.
field 1 will have the total amount.in field 2 i user can enter the percentage.and field 3 will be populated
as field 1 * field 2 /100. if user changes field 3 it back update the field 2 as field3 * 100/field 1.
there is a POST in when-new-record-instance.
the above error comes when i navigate to second record
and try to come bk and change the values in 1st record.
if any one faced this problem or have any idea of it
please let me know.

is if i am having 20 tables means i have to write 20
trigger. i don't want like this.Of course it's still possible, typically you'll find applications with a column LAST_UPDATE, probably a LAST_UPDATED_BY and so on column. You don't say what your business need is, if you just want a one of query of updates to particular records and have a recent version of Oracle, then flashback query may well help, if you want to record update timestamps you either have to modify the table, or write some code to store your updates in an audit table somewhere.
