Possible to have an intro video play before menu?

This may be a DVD Studio Pro task, but am wondering if it's possible, in iDVD, to have a short (5 sec) video clip play first thing, before the menu appears.

No need for DVD SP - you can easily do it in iDVD 6.
In the map view, the well on the left is the autostart well for content that will play before a menu shows. Just drop your short video in that well.

So Im in Encore 6. I have a timeline with video and audio selected with first play, so it plays as an intro before the main menu.
The intro clip connects to the menu, however there are a few black frames during the transition to the main menu and I need this to be seamless.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You won't know until you play from a disk whether it is seamless or not. The Encore preview is not reliable.

I am back with an update. I turned off Match on both the ipad and the iphone 5. By doing so I was able to sync my Iphone and ipad to itunes and store the music on my devices rather than the slow streaming. So far this has fixed my problems with the iphone I have all my music, playlist, most of the album art and so on. But the ipad is a different story. I have the music and artist but not one playlist I am sure Apple will have an upgrade soon that will address these issues they are usually very good about this.
Now have any of you experienced another problem that has existed as long as I have used faces in Aperture.
I have over 200 faces and they are organized a-z problem is I have this going on A-Z folowed by a few that start over A-Z followed by another few A-Z and again a 4th time A-Z. Imagine how difficult it is while I am showing someone the great features of my iphone, ipad and imac. Which I do talk highly of all the time. But how do I explain that even though their name starts with a or b or what ever they are not important enough to me to be in the first list of A-Z or even the 2nd or 3rd list of A-Z someohow they are in the 4th section of the list!!!!
I have managed to get the Imac to fix this but for some reason the IOS devices do not. Any ideas?

Is it possible to change brightness in video play back?

Is it possible to change brightness in video play back, without having to go to settings?
If not, then who agrees this should be possible?
I’m sure most iphone users have the stock brightness setting set to low to save battery power, but it’s very irritating when you go to watch a video in bright lighting conditions and in order to see it properly you have to go back out and change it.
I am not computer programmer, but I’m sure it would be possible to have a slider (just like the volume) and could be introduced in a update.
I think it would improve the overall iphone experience just that little bit more.
What do you think?

You can choose what to highlight and copy, but it does not change anything in your system like editing a configuration file would.

Uploading Flash Intro to play before home page in Dreamweaver

I'm new to Flash CS3. I'm trying to figure out how to make my
flash intro to my website play before it takes me to my home page
in Dreamweaver. In other words, the flash intro plays and then
automatically goes to my designated home page.The intro is the
first thing you see. Do I set that up in Flash or Dreamweaver?

Hi!
Basically, you have to do that in Flash. A possible way to go
is this: you´ve got two pages, say "index.html" and
"pageB.html". "index.html" of course is the first page any browser
would read. Here you´ve embedded your Flash-Intro. Now, after
your intro´s been played, you want the browser to switch
automatically to "pageB.html", which is your actual home page, the
actual first one, as if it were. No problem! Go to the last frame
in your Flash animation (authoring environment), press the F9-key
(in order to open action script), switch to expert modus and type
this:
getURL("pageB.html","_self");
Now, "pageB.html" should be replaced by the correct name of
the page, and you might have to type a complete path so the proper
page can be found (something like "myPage/homePage.html" or
whatever, depending on how it is structured). You could experience
some trouble here, but keep on it!
The instruction "_self" lets the browser open the new page
(your home page) in the same window, which is hopefully what you
want. If you want a new window, type "_blank" instead.

I have been playing with the idea of having an audio track play throughout our digital publication on the iPad. I have it working now within a single article but it stops once you go to a new article. Would it be possible to have it continue playing while the user navigates through the other articles?

Intro video moving to menu smoothly

I am working on DVDSP2 and wish to have an intro movie that plays prior to moving to the menu. My menu is created from the last frame of the intro movie, so I want it to move smoothly from one to the other. I get about 2-3 seconds of white before it goes to the menu.
Any way to avoid this? Even to make it black?

Ive seen this a few times too, however it only happened in the simulator.
Once the disc was burnt it played normally.
Maybe you should do a build and format, and create a disc image. Mount the disc image by double clicking it and view it on your Mac using the Apple DVD Player and it will behave as if it were an actual disc.

Video plays before it has been selected in menu

I have 6 motion menu buttons and when I move from one button to another, that particular button becomes selected and plays the video. I cannot move around on the menu system without a video being selected to play.

Is it possible to have a Flash video activate content outside of the video at predetermined times along the video timeline?

I am creating educational videos and would like to set points within a video that will make things happen on the website, either a different window or the same window as the video. Is this possible? I'm not a web developer so posting how to do it won't do me much good. However, if it is possible, I'll need someone to program a user configurable system so I can set this link points as I produce videos. Thank you very much for your time.

Is this possible - I have 10hrs of video but each DVD only needs about 10min

I did a 10 hour dance event and I need to make custom DVD's for each customer that usually only include 3 or 4 songs. Each DVD is different. I don't need the whole 10 hours.
Will Encore lay down just the video I need or will I have to cut away all of the extranious stuff so it's under 4.7 Gigs?

Alternatively, use After Effects (if you have it) to trim the clips down, add fades/titles/effects/etc to the clip and then import them into Encore via Dynamic Link. This would prevent you from having to wait on rendered files from PPro.
Even if you don't want to mess with Dynamic Link, you could still batch render all of your files out of After Effects overnight. The trick here is whether or not you have After Effects...........?

Acrobat form fields- is it possible to have a sign-in validation before proceeding?

I am building an interactive pdf for one of my clients. She would like for me to create a registration form on page 1, which would be a mandatory sign-in delivered to an online data base.
Here is my question: Is it possible to create a pdf registration form that only allows access to the rest of the pdf once they have completed the form?

There are various ways this can be done, but none of them will work 100% of the time.
For example, you could:
- Hide all the form fields until the user fills in the data on the first page
- Use a script to prevent the user from leaving the first page until the form is filled
- Place the rest of the file in an attached PDF which will be opened when the user fills the form

Video played before but wont now

I downloaded some video podcasts on my ipod and they were all working fine earlier. Now when i select them the screen goes black as if about to play the video then after about ten seconds the ipod goes back to the previous screen.I havent changed anything and my ipod has not been connected to my computer. This problem is with all videos and not just podcasts. also audio podcasts do a similar thing hovever they will play on my second or third attempt. can someone help?

By fooled around with some videos do you mean you just added some videos to an iPhoto slideshow? Did you try exporting the slideshow or just play it? Is your profile correct for the system and iPhoto versions?
What happens when you double click on a video to play it?

Maybe this is an easy task but I can't figure it out.
I want to have several midi drum tracks to play one kit in an instrument channel and solo and mute
the midi to find what I'm looking for.

Great, thank's! It seems like if I solo or mute a track they will all react on that command. Any workaround for that? But it will work great as it is, just have to do it a little different.

Is it possible to have different panels in an accordion menu?

I've been trying to figure this out for hours now. How do you customize each panels to their own specification? I want each panel to have a different background image to when I hover it changes. When I try to change one panel, all the panels change. I have 4 panels and I want all of them to be different. Each panels are different image backgrounds with different "hover" image backgrounds. How do you customize each individual panels?

Have you tried setting CSS on the individual panels? Would you mind posting a link to some code?
For example, you could something like:
<div class="AccordionPanel Panel1">...</div>
<div class="AccordionPanel Panel2">...</div>
<div class="AccordionPanel Panel3">...</div>
<div class="AccordionPanel Panel4">...</div>
And then in the CSS do something like:
.AccordionPanel.Panel1 {
     background:url('../images/myimage1.jpg');
.AccordionPanel.Panel2 {
     background:url('../images/myimage2.jpg');
.AccordionPanel.Panel3 {
     background:url('../images/myimage3.jpg');
.AccordionPanel.Panel4 {

Of course, you'll probably have to account for the different "state" classes (e.g., AccordionPanelClosed, AccordionPanelActive, etc.), but that should be a pretty minor thing.

Video Play hang/bug/freeze

Hello together,
i have 20 videos, which generate all the same effect on the playbook.
Copy to the playbook -- sucessful
find them in the video app -- sucessful
start them -- works, audio/video are visible
After playing 23-26s the video hangs up at last displayed frame. The position varies a little bit. The audio is still playing, the slider information on bottom tells me that the video is still running.
If i know choose a position somewhere in the video with the slider (it can be at 28s e.g.) the video is there again and playing for another 23-26s.
I can repeat this as often as i like.
Recopy videos or playbook restart are useless
This bug exists in several videos i tried until now. If needed i can provide a testvideo.
I hope it will be resolved. Is there a offical bugreport/bugtracker where i could post that?

non of my xvid movies do that, it is possible you have a corrupt video file and a PC plays it fine while the playbook wont.
can you try with a diff video to see if it is tue of not?
