Possible to import google cal into iCal?

Is there a way to import data from google calendars into iCal?

Yes, it is possible and you do not need a third party program to do it. You need to "subscribe" to your Google calendar from within iCal. The address that you need to provide to iCal for the subscription to work, is available from the Google calendar page. Click on the downward-facing triangle next to your calendar name on the left of the screen, then click on Calendar Settings. At the bottom of the screen that pops up, click on the ICAL button in the Private Address area. This will give you the private URL of your calendar, which is what you need to use in iCal "subscribe" function.
In iCal, you can specify how often you want to "import" the data from the Google calendar you are subscribed to.

Rafael

is it possible to import my contacts into my ical?

This is NOT what we (most of us) want to do ... We want to have the information from our contact(s) automatically be available in the calendar event. If we "invite" the contact, they get to see and are asked to respond (accept / decline / maybe) ... NOT always something we want. For example, I am going to an event and I want to remember their face (what they look like - maybe I've only met them once awhile ago), their spouses name, children or business profile / items and I don't want them to know I have made this one of my agenda items for the event. If I entered all this including their profile picture in contacts, I certainly don't want to enter it all again AND BTW, iCal doesn't really have the proper fields for this information anyway. Sure I can use the notes section but this is double entry. As you can see from just this one example, I would not want to invite them to this calendar entry. I can think of many other instances where that would be problematical (to say the leasat) as well.
It is really incomprehansible that contact, iCal and even mail does not have at least this level of integration.

  • How can I view my iCalendar on Google mail? Is it possible to import the iCalendar into the Google calendar? If so, how?

You can certainly add your google calendar to your iPad: http://support.google.com/calendar/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=151674
This will allow you to sync calendars back and forth between your iPad and Google.
However you cannot import already existing calendars on iPad into Google from the iPad itself.
    You would need to:
Sync your iPad with a computer
And then use the computer to import your calendar to Google: http://support.google.com/calendar/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=37118
If you are using a Mac I can tell you how to sync the calendars to the computer and then put them on google.
If you are using a Windows machine I would suggest you post your question in the iPad forum where the iPad experts reside: https://discussions.apple.com/community/ipad/using_ipad
    Cheers.

  • Problem importing ics files into iCal

Importing ics files into iCal is the problem, but first here is the background on why I'm trying to import.
I have an iMac and iPad, and recently changed my iPhone 3G for an iPhone 4S.  Having got the iPhone 4S I have now set up all my devices to use iCloud.  In moving iCal to iCloud an extra calendar was created "automatically" in iCal, called "Me".  This "Me" calendar contains a partial duplicate of my main calendar, which is called "My Calendar".  In fact, some of the events from "My Calendar" seem to have been moved to "Me", and some have been duplicated.
It seems as it I now need to merge the "Me" and "My calendar" calendars to get back to where I was.
I have tried to export one of the calendars and then re-import it into the other.  The export seems to work fine, but every single time I try to re-import the ics file iCal crashes at the end of the import process, and the import is not completed.
Can anyone help?  This has been driving me absolutely crazy today!
I even tried manually moving events from one calendar to another, but they reappeared.  I think this was because my iPhone/iPad were re-syncing via iCloud and overwriting the changes I had just made.
I don't mind if I end up with one calendar with duplicates as I can remove them with iCal Dupe Deleter.
Or if there are any other alternative solutions I'd love to hear them!
    All help greatly appreciated!
(P.S. Is it just me, or is Apple software slowly getting as unreliable as Windows used to be?  I get more problems with software updates now than when I first got a Mac about 8 years ago!)

Not a great answer but I dragged the attachment either to the finder - app - ical or the icon. It placed it on the calendar. I clicked in and accepted. So, no auto populate. Need to drag and drop. So glad I paid the 20 bucks to upgrade to 10.8

  • Is it possible to import an XDP into Reader at Browser loadtime?

Is it possible to import an XDP into Reader at Browser loadtime?
Similar to loading an FDF on loadtime?
Or is there some code that I can put into Livecycle that will load a XDP from a web address once the PDF is loaded into Reader (Reader or Browser Plug-in version)?

An XDP cannot be read by Reader ...the XDP gets turned into a PDF (called rendering before Reader will open it). LiveCycle Forms will turn the XDP into a PDF in real time and will deliver it to the browser which will in turn luanch Reader and load the newly created PDF.
    Make sense?

    Try iCalShare.
You can also try using iCal>Calendar>Find Subscriptions... I did notice a "Page Not Found" when using that method, but it has been working in the past.

  • Importing Outlook calendar into iCal

I am relatively new to Apple and one of the few things that is taking the gloss off an otherwise happy experience of working in this new environment is my inability to import my Outlook (2003) Calendar from the work office into iCal on my home iMac. I would be grateful if anyone could tell me if this is possible, and how it might be done so that I do not overwrite the appointments I already have entered in iCal. Thanks.

Don't blame Apple for this. Blame Microsoft. ALL of Microsoft's products (Outlook, Windows Media Player, Microsoft Office, etc.) were created in proprietary & closed formats, designed to keep you "locked in" to Microsoft and Windows as long as possible. Microsoft makes it nearly impossible to move any of your data out of their products and into a competitor's products.
Apple, on the other hand, has designed all of their products with open standards and open formats, so your data is never "locked in" like it is with Microsoft.
In the meantime, luckily you can use the product Outlook2Mac to get your data over from Outlook's calendar to iCal.

  • Import csv files into Ical

Is there a way to import csv into Ical? I need the "importing csv into Ical" for dummies version. Thanks.

There are no plans to add that functionality that I am aware of. I am usually not informed of updates until it comes out.
There is a 3rd party program that allows you to sync with Palm desktop calendar.
Check out this program called companionlink for google.

No, this is a complete different tool available for this specific purpose. You need to get in touch with your local SAP EPM team for more details. This tool is not available to everyone. SAP conducts training and certification on this tool and only the certified consultants get the access to this tool.
