  • Does anyone make a water-tight, fully submergible, case for iPod Touches?  I am looking for one that could be taken into a pool or ocean, so that you could take underwater pictures.  Thank you!

Does anyone know if anyone makes a waterproof, fully submergible case for iPod Touches, 4th Generation? I am looking for one that can be taken into a pool or ocean, where I would be able to take underwater pictures or videos. I've tried numerous web sites, including "Otter Box", but have been unable to find one for the iPod Touch.  I believe there might be one out for iPhones, but can't find one for an iPod Touch. Thank you for any help.

    I found this review...

Unfortunately, it sappears that the cameras are covered by the cases. I'm look too as I'm starting SCUBA lessons.

  • Looking for specific case for iPod touch to

I saw this awesome case for an iPhone, it was pretty thick, made of rubber I think. The feature that blew me away was that in the back panel of the case was a place to wind up the ear phone cord, and two notches for the ear buds to snap in, and they seemed pretty flush with the case when in them. Even though it was for an iPhone I was curious if they had one for iPod touch, I couldn't find anything like it in the Apple Store. Does anyone know the one I'm describing?

I think this is the case you're describing:

  • APPLE customer service for ipod touch

sorry if this is a bit dragged out post, but i'll limit it to as short as possible.
bought my daughter an ipod touch for last christmas which has always been inside a hard case and never been outside and is like new when out of case(for cleaning).
last month or so it developed a small prob with sound not playing on some tracks(posted in here also), i sent it back to apple for repair, they sent it back saying it was software issue and they updated software accordingly, within days of recieving it back it started to develop another problem with the screen flickering on and off and the totally stopped responding to touch, called apple again to inform them of this and they asked for it back, sent it back again(only using their package service & UPS courier) i recieved it back a few days later with a very crude note stating they will not be repairing it because it has been subject to abuse/neglect in the form of liquid damage. no explaination as to what has been damaged or even cost of repair. i know for a fact 100% this has not been near water or any liquid, i have asked apple for an explaination and sent them 3 letters of complaint which they do not answer,i have now contacted consumer direct uk, they are advising small claims action.
anyone have similar problem or any advice they can offer? looking on consumeraffairs.com this seems to be a regular tactic of apple

If the water sensor has been triggered, Apple will refuse warranty service. You state that the iPod has never been exposed to moisture. I'm not saying that you would not tell the truth, but many people claim that a unit hasn't been abused only to find/admit later that it has, so your protestations will probably be in vain. Apple will point to the sensor being triggered as hard evidence that it has indeed come in contact with moisture. Heck, unless you've had the unit in your possession 24/7 since you got it, you can't even with certainty say that it hasn't; many children have, for instance, inadvertently and sometimes unknowingly had a spill in a backpack that damaged some electronic device.
As others have suggested, you can try taking the unit to an Apple Store and discussing the issue. You can also call the Apple tech support line and asking to speak with a customer service representative. But I would guess that neither route will be of any use; Apple sees the moisture sensor triggered and that ends the matter for them.
You can see your options for out-of-warranty service from Apple here:
    http://www.apple.com/uk/support/ipod/service/faq/#warranty6
They have flat repair prices for iPods which you can see here:
    http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/service/prices/#uk
Alternatively, you can pursue repair though third-party service providers. Whether or not those would be more cost-effective I can't say.

  • Are there flip cases for iPod Touch?  If so, which would you recommend?

I'm in the market for an iPod Touch. I'd like to get a case/cover for it that would function the way the flip cover did on the SONY Clie SJ33 or the Palm T3 worked... much like the communicators on Star Trek!
Does anyone make such an accessory? Are there certain ones you would recommend?

Well, I've received my brand new IPT and still don't have a case!
I've researched the cases suggested here (thanks for the tips!) and scores more (far too many). I cannot seem to find a flip case WITHOUT a magnet! And given what I've read in threads here, I really don't want to risk a several hundred dollar device with a magnetic clasp case. I realize that lots of folks use them without problems, but I keep finding posts from people who have real issues!
And strangely, the Apple Store carries most of the Marware cases EXCEPT FOR THE FLIP CASE (the one I was leaning towards), which is their only case with magnets! Is Apple trying to tell us something?
(I wish I had just bought the Belkin Folio case when it was free after rebate on Black Friday from Amazon!)
As a temporary fix, I've put some thin clear vinyl wrap around the IPT (left over from trials years ago with my Palms) and will jerry rig something with my Palm T3 flip cover-- it's perfectly sized and right form factor! A Palm iPod Touch!
I'm now debating a combo of Power Support Air Jacket with the Marware Flip Vue. And simply gambling on the magnetic clasp problem!
Any thoughts? Reactions? Am I way off base for worrying about the magnets?

  • Protective case for ipod touch

Im interested in learning about protective cases for the 8gb touch. Im especially interested in a hard, clear case. Any suggestions?

I have a protective screen thing, too, which is great. No bubbles, and if you're careful when you put it on, no dust. I can't even tell it's there.
BUT, while that adequately protects from scratches, I don't feel it does anything in the way of protecting the thing if it's dropped, and it certainly wouldn't protect the screen if it got banged against something in my purse. Those are my concerns. So, I have it in a clear, hard, plastic case. DLO, got it from Best Buy. Like the one mentioned above, but I don't have a pop-out stand - instead it has little rubber grippy things on the back so that it doesn't slide around if I lay it down. In addition to that, I put it in another, cloth, case that protects it somewhat from being hit by the sharp edge of something and has a strap I can put around my wrist). Even that isn't what I really want - what I want to get is something that puts a hard cover right in front of the screen, to keep it from being cracked.
And for the person who mentioned a couple of days ago that s/he doesn't put it in a case because it's not a precious jewel - having a case has saved me at least twice when I've dropped my iPod onto the asphalt next to my car. Just makes me feel better. I don't need my iPod to look perfect for always, but I would like it to continue to function, and I'm the first to admit that my purse isn't the safest place for fragile things

  • Apple shows not ONE case for iPod Touch 5th Gen?

Got iPod Touch for my Mom (89yrs) for Xmas. Astonished to find NO  cases for 5th generation on Apple Store!  Anyone know what the problem is re this and where I might find a rugged but light case for the blue one?

It took them a while to get the iPhone 5 cases in.
Speck makes iPod touch 5th generation cases. They're a pretty good brand.
However, I don't have a case since the new material on the back is so durable. Any mark on it, I've been able to wipe off. I just have a screen protector.

  • Case for ipod touch

    hey guys,
i gonna to buy a case for protecting the ipod touch, apart from ipod socks, any better alternatives?
    thank you

I brought one from this website last week and its made for the touch and fits perfectly and is really good quality. It seems to protect the touch too as it has extra padding inside and is quite sturdy.
    http://www.beyzacases.com/catapple_ipod_touchcases.cfm
The best bit is that it has velvet inside so everytime you pull the touch out it cleans any smudges off - very handy.
Good value for money and it arrived 2 days later.

I have a couple of the Belkin laser etched case. Ebay item 350324653882, Amazon item F8Z404-PRL. They feel great in your hand, very soft. I also love my case-mate Barely There cases. They are hard however.

  • Why dont they make IOS 5 for ipod touch 2nd generation

this is crap they shouldn't stop updateing the ipod touch 2nd generation like what they did to the first. i dont want to keep buying a new ipod touch every year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Like any other device that uses software, the older hardware cannot run the newest software.
This is completely normal in every way.
You do  not have to buy every year.  The 3rd gen was released two and a half years ago and can run ios 5.
How many years should it be?

Is the otterbox worth the $30 or should I get something cheaper that isn't as good.?

If you're looking for a case that has better protection, I suggest Speck. I've noticed Speck cases are more expensive, but the deal they are giving you, is perfect. I highly suggest you get the Speck one. They usually range from $20-$40...somewhere around there.
Hope this helped, and you agree with me!

  • Any waterproof cases for ipod 5g for everyday use?

Any good waterproof cases for ipod touch 5g everyday use?

Hey Avenger1104, I like the Griffin Survivor + Catalyst water tight to 9 feet, and offers shock, dust, weather and scratch protection. Also that a look at the Lifeproof cases. Note; no matter which case you buy it's only as good as it's seals, and there is no warning when or if the seal has failed. Good luck. Cheers.
