Possible to manually change apn in iOS 4

Here in Italy we have a "nice" thing called Mobile Virtual Carrier...
So I have a SIM by a Virtual Carrier (Fastweb) that actually uses the network provided by a Real One (H3G).
I would like to use this SIM on my iPhone 3G, that I updated to iOS 4 and be able to use the data network, but the config defaults to the H3G apn, giving me an error, because I have not a contract with them...
The virtual carrier confirmed this is a problem on iphone where I cannot manually change apn to point to their one...
In the mean time they solve their inefficiency... any way to to this on iOS 4?
or do I have to come backk to my E61i... ;-(

God, this is annoying. I tried the workaround suggested to turn off cellular data and wi-fi. This almost solved the problem. But I quickly discovered that it didn't work quite the way I expected it to. I turned off data and wi-fi and went to take a nap. I was awoken by a reminder (apparently, those are activated by the iPhone, rather than pushed by the cloud). And then, when I re-enabled cellular data and wi-fi, I received an iMessage from my wife that she had sent a few minutes earlier. I had read elsewhere that SMS/MMS would go through even if data and wi-fi were turned off, but apparently that's not the case with iMessages (if someone else has experience with this, please confirm). In iOS 4, I could turn off notifications with the click of a button, in which case I would be awoken by text messages and unbothered by calendar reminders, which is exactly what I wanted. Now all I've got is a clumsy workaround that gives me the opposite result.
I read that if you plug something into the headphone jack, you'll only hear the iPhone speaker if the phone rings. I'd be interested to know whether you hear the speaker when an SMS/MMS/iMessage arrives as well (which is what I want), and in no other circumstances. Maybe I'll experiment with this after I finish my nap. If someone else knows whether this is an effective workaround, please post here.
And if anyone knows of a better workaround, please post that as well.

images are "scrunched" or "stretched".
So is there a "MANUAL" way of configuring the screen size to a "standard"
size within this Mac? or do I need to find a standard size screen?

Apple limited the graphics cards in iMac G4s to the native resolution of the built-in LCD i.e:
15" iMac G4 - 1024 x 768
17" iMac G4 - 1440 x 900
20" iMac G4 - 1680 x 1050.
Even when connecting a second display this could only mirror the internal at the same resolution. For the following iMac G4's it's possible to install a firmware hack to open up the full capabilities of the graphics cards:
17" 800MHz
17" 1GHz
15" 1GHz
17" 1.25GHz
20" 1.25GHz
using an application called Screen Spanning Doctor. This is risky but I guess you haven't got much to lose at this point. I've only ever heard of one Mac user actually failing to do the process right though.
You can always use Firewire Target Disk Mode to recover you client's files to another Mac.
I'd be interested if SwitchResX works too. I only have external displays much smaller than my iMacs so can't test it from that perspective.

All you can do is reset the call duration, and for that you need the phone's security code.

How to make changes through JAG without affecting manual changes in jspx?

In our Application , we are using JHeadStart for creating JSPX pages. We made manual changes to some component in Jspx page. Now I has to change TextBox Component to LOV (List Of values) Component. So I made changes in the ApplicationDefinition. xml file. Now If I run the ApplicationDefinition File, the Manual changes (adding setActionListener,creating ManagedBean, etc...) whatever I had made to the particular page is updated to its own default page based on ApplicationDefinition.xml.
So , is there any possibility that manual changes made to jspx file should not be affected even if we make changes through ApplicationDefinition.xml file.

You should write your customizations in generator templates before you JAG. You can add your customizations to affect various components, beans, etc. You then configure these templates to be used by JAG. Once you do this you do not need to re-write your customized code. You will need to know the basics of VTL (velocity template language) as all the templates used by JAG are written in .vm files that use VTL.
For a more detailed understanding of how using and implementing customized templates read Oracle JHeadstart 10g for ADF Developers Guide, chapter 4.7

How could I manually modify APN setting on my iphone 5s with ios 8.1?

I needing to change my carrier APN on my factory unlocked iPhone using ios 8.1, my carrier uses two apn and I used to switch them manually whenever I wanted , last week I updated my iphone to ios 8.1 and anfter that I'm not finding the option in Setting-Cellular. It seems like apple removed the option to us to manually configure APN, proxy etc setting. Help please, thanks

Since upgrading Iphone to iOS 5.1.1 it does not automatically use wifi internet when wifi is available. It has been draining my mobile data. I can only manually change settings with cellular data everytime I get home. Any other solutions?

Since upgrading Iphone to iOS 5.1.1 it does not automatically divert to my wi-fi internet when wifi is available in my home. It has been draining my mobile data I now have very high bills from my mobile carrier for high data usage. I can only manually change settings in the Network and turn cellular data on and off everytime I get home and leave the home. This is very frustrating as it wasn't a problem until the upgrade. I have spoken to a few people that this has happened to. Has anyone found this problem and does anyone have other solutions?

Reservation created automatically. No manual changes possible

The reservation created automatically for an order can't do any changes and giving an error message as "reservation created automatically. no manual changes possible".
Kindly help me how to do the changes.

I guess the error message makes it clear you cannot do any manual changes via MB22 or some Z program.
The only way to change such reservations is to go to the respective order & make the necessary changes to the specific component eg: change of date or quantity etc.

How to update client profile manually (without APNs)

Currently implementing an OS X Server with a specific goal of device management using the Profile Manager. I have a thorough understanding of APNs roll in this where communication is sent to APNs which then gives the client a notification to "check-in" with the server for updates. So the actual data exchange is only between the server and client. (Like the diagram below...)
However, for security reasons I want to be able to accomplish Client-Server mdm checkin manually without APNs if I want to. In theory, this should be possible because the client obviously runs code to search for the server, communicate, and apply any changes to its configuration profile. Based on the OS X server documentation for this, it does this over SSL to the server for an mdm_checkin. The client also automatically checks the server on each startup, so restarting the machine does in-fact tell it to check the server and gets any profile changes that are holding as tasks. (Obviously, its not ideal to restart every time I want a change...)
Again, for security and troubleshooting purposes, I want to avoid APNs and do this communication manually. I'd also like to avoid downloading from the myDevices portal, or transferring a profile to be double-clicked/opened, etc etc. However, for the life of me I can't find any other documentation or code that may direct me how to do this! It seems like there should be sometime to run or few terminal commands to accomplish this...
Has anyone else attempted this or had success telling a client manually to talk to it's mdm server? (or even using mdmclient?)

Enrolling a device to an MDM e.g. Apple's Profile Manager does not require APNs, it merely requires 'installing' the enrolment profile and optionally a trust profile. However normally if you make a change to a profile this would be 'pushed' to client devices by sending an APN message to tell the client to 'phone home' to download the new profile.
I install the trust and enrolment profiles during a DeployStudio imaging workflow and at the moment use APNs to send notification for updates, however for another different network I am looking at the following instead of APNs.
The latest Munki software now supports installing Profiles directly, before it used to be necessary to wrap the profiles inside Apple installer packages.
Note: Profiles can be distributed 'over the air' via APNs, hosted as files to b manually downloaded from a web server, or emailed to users/devices as a file attachment, and as mentioned above wrapped inside an Apple Installer package which would run a post-install script to install the profile.
Therefore you could generate the updated profile and use Munki 2.2 to manage distributing and installing the updated versions. Of course an important limitation is that Munki is for Macs only and does not cover iOS devices. Munki does not use APNs. The Munki client needs to be able to talk to your Munki server which ideally should only be contactable on your LAN, a VPN connection would work.
Note: It is probably not worth looking at Casper Suite even though it supports iOS as it uses APNs.

It is possible through configuration better you can post in sd forums.
For the condition type settings , ensure that the manual entries is 'D'. it wont allow any changes in the order.

Federal court website gives a .pl document which opens as garbage until we manually change it to .pdf, is there any way to get Firefox to do this automatically?

I am using a Mac. When downloading a document from the federal court website using Firefox, we get a .pl document which opens as garbage (in TextEdit) until we manually change it to .pdf, which causes it to open just fine (in Preview). It used to work fine, giving a .pdf document every time, but apparently upgrades to Firefox have removed this functionality. As far as I can tell my computer, an iMac running Mac system OS X 10.10.1, does not recognize the .pl format. Is there any way to get Firefox to automatically convert a downloaded file from .pl format to .pdf format? My friend tells me that Google Chrome downloads these documents with no problem. I would prefer to stick with Firefox but I might have to change if every downloaded document is in an unreadable format.
This is a typical example of what I get when I try to open a .pl document (the pdf version is a one page document using plain English):

Unable to manually change the amount for condition type PB00

Hi Gurus,
My client is using ECC5.0.
Here when I try to change the amount for condition type PB00 using transaction ME22N, I am not able to change the value. I donu2019t get any error, but as soon as I change the value and press Enter the system replaces my entered value with the original value.
Confusing part is that I am able to change the amount of condition price PB00 manually using transaction ME22. I donu2019t have any such problems there.
Also I am able to manually change the amount of condition type PBXX using ME22N.
Only in the case of PB00, if I use ME22N to manually update the amount I am not able to change it.
Kindly help me, to find a reason as to why this could be happening, and correcting if possible?

Hello Imram,
The purpose of maintaining 2 condition types ie PB00 and PBXX in a pricing procedure is that PB00 is automatic gross price determination and PBXX is manually giving gross price.
If you go to T.Code : M/06 and check the condition types, you can see that PB00 will be having an access sequence but not PBXX.
So if you have to manually give the gross price, you have to use PBXX.

TS2830 is it possible to manually sync when using iTunes match? sync 13019 error always when trying to copy

I prefer to manage my transfers to my iPod myself. I keep getting the 13019 error; software is up-to-date. Google/Apple searches suggest only way to fix is to autosync the iPod - wiping off what is on it, including Podcasts.
It is beginning to seem as though, perhaps by using Match, I have eliminated the possibility of manual sych. Is this correct?

For some reason known only to Apple, only files downloaded through iTunes can be in the podcast section of iPod. As far as I know there is still no supported way around this.
Occassionaly someone reports getting around issue by manually editing the file using a hex editor. This involves comparing iTunes downloaded file with non-iTunes downloaded file to find the difference. Once found, the equivalent setting in other files can be changed. I have never done it though.

Testcase:
- Create a VO based on 2 EO (Association already defined) --> Jon in WHERE Clause automatically created by Wizard
- Then modify the WHERE clause, e.g. change an equal to outer join.
- All works fine.
- Then add a EO (also Association defined) and chose some attributes.
- Test and wonder why there are much more rows in the result than expected.
- Look into the Query-Tab and control the WHERE clause: Wizard forgot to add the new join... and therefore we get a cartesian product between the old view and the new added EO...
Possible solutions to fix the Bug:
1. add the JOIN ;-)
or
2. at least display a warning that the JOIN is not automatically created!

Once the where clause has been customized, we don't update it in the interest of not messing up the user's custom code. However, we should probably warn the user in the types of cases you mention above that he will need to update the where clause manually to include the new information. We will add this in a future release.
