Possible to merge 2 PDF's in a staggard layout?

2 methods that I want to know if its possible.
I have 2 multipage PDFs that need to merge together in a staggard layout which were created from a mail merge.  One PDF is the letter with a persons name on it, the other PDF is the persons mailing address.  I want to know if these can merge together so I can run them through the printer and duplex all at once instead of doing two separate runs.
The other way is similar except the letter is generic and just a single page but I need it to stagger into another mail merged PDF as every other page, also for the reason to duplex in one run.
Are either of these possible?

    Hi!
I would like to know if it's possible to merge pdf files in one pdf document using any webcenter content complementary tool.
if not, Is there any suggestions by using a 3rd party tool?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Merge two PDF files into one with Adobe Reader

Does anyone know how to merge two PDF files into one with Adobe Reader. Is it even possible?
    Thanks

If you've got a Mac and OSX you can do this in Preview.  Make sure you can see the sidebar with the first PDF opened, and then drag the second PDF to the bottom of the last page in the sidebar.  Also you can reduce the size of your saved file by selecting (or making) a Quartz filter to 'reduce file size'

  • Merge 2 pdf's dynamicly with iText

I would like to merge two pdf's with iText. There is something special with the merging because the first pdf is dynamicly created and does not exists on the disk. I would like to merge it with an existing pdf (on my hard-disk), but the result of the merge must be dynamic too.
I know there is a possibility to do this with iText, but I have no idea how I have to do it. The first (dynamic) pdf is created with iText too and it works fine.
    Thanks,
    Jiebke

iText has a sample application that merges two PDFs into another. If you examine that code and fiddle around a little bit, you should be able to figure out how to do what you want.
What you are trying to do is not that difficult with iText, and I'm sure you are up to the challenge!

  • Can you merge 2 PDF files, alternating pages?

I have 2 PDF files, one of a front side and one of a back side. The back side are all different addresses and the front is all the same. I want to run this all at one time instead of running one side and putting it back in the machine to run the other side. Is it possible to merge the two files with the pages alternating?

So, I'm not the only one unable to merge docs thru Preview.
This is why I wrote my own script to do that.
    --[SCRIPT join_PDFs]
    --=====
    L'aide du Finder explique:
    --=====
Save the script as a Script: join_PDFs.scpt
Move the newly created file into the folder:
    <startup Volume>:Users:<yourAccount>:Library:Scripts:
go to the Scripts Menu, choose Numbers, then choose "join_PDFs"
You may also save the script as an application.
Then you will be anle to drag an drop PDFs icons on the script one.
I found the main code in a Web page.
    --=====
    The Finder's Help explains:
To make the Script menu appear:
Open the AppleScript utility located in Applications/AppleScript.
Select the "Show Script Menu in menu bar" checkbox.
    Under 10.6.x,
go to the General panel of AppleScript Editor’s Preferences dialog box
and check the “Show Script menu in menu bar” option.

    Hi pharmovative,
You can use the Combine PDF feature of Adobe PDF pack to combine multiple PDF files into one document. (Or, if you have the full version of Acrobat, you an do it there as well by choosing Create > Combine Files into a Single PDF.)

How do I merge 2 pdf files into one file?

I use PrimoPDF (free download) to create pdf files. To merge two docs/pdfs/etc., print the first to a new pdf using Primo. Close it, then print the second and save it to the same new pdf. Primo gives you the option to 'append' or 'overwrite' the original file. By using 'append', you are just adding it to the back of the existing file. You can do this repeatedly to resort or combine existing pages into a new pdf.
Also, I'm using Adobe Reader X.

  • Is it possible to Print a PDF as a PDF in Acrobat 11.0.06 on Mac OSX 10.8.5?

Is it possible to Print a PDF as a PDF in Acrobat 11.0.06 on Mac OSX 10.8.5?
I need this functionality. Adobe PDF doesn't appear in the printer list as it did on my windows laptop. I need to be able to print to the PDF "size" of 8.5 by 11 to shrink files down for e-mail. My workflow usually goes like this:  I import all the pictures or create a PDF from multiple files (pictures), I then put them in order  and then print to PDF, two pictures to a page. I can take a 50MB file down to a 1MB file this way. Makes it easy to view on smartphones and the like.
Is this functionality still broken in Acrobat 11? Did I just waste my money? This was the only reason I bought the latest version - It wouldn't work on 9 Pro either.
    Thanks,
    Jon

Thanks Tony. That is exactly the functionality I am not getting from the current product on Mac.
You can get a much better looking result that takes up way less space and opens faster for the end user by printing a PDF as a PDF and controlling the size of the PDF image. I can take - for instance, 6 or 7  10MP pictures and create a PDF out of them. The PDF will be 25MB or so. I can print that as a PDF which will allow me to put two pictures per page  - and that file will be about 1 MB. No crappy looking images, just much smaller size and multiple images per page.
It's a workflow I have used for years on PC.  Everyone keeps saying just save it as a PDF using the Mac print "save as PDF" functionality but that doesn't accomplish the same thing and you can not control how many pages to print on to each new page of your PDF.
I find it misleading that I saw a web page on Adobe's site that shows you can print as a PDF and it says you can print as a PDF on Mac and that is NOT the case.  Print to PDF Windows 7, Vista, XP, Mac | Adobe Acrobat XI Infuriating.
I have tried to optimize a PDF with 6 or 7 images and it just doesn't do the same thing. It wont reduce the size as much as I need, cuts it in half - but not down to a small fraction for being an e-mail attachment. I'm using XI Pro. Researched this for about 3 hours and it is not functionality that can be used on a Mac.
I even tried printing as a PDF in Parallels on XP with another licensed version of Acrobat Pro and it still wont let you. You would have to probably dual boot your machine to get the functionality by running windows flat out on the Mac with a separate Licensed copy of the software.
It amazes me that Adobe can't figure this out or make amends with Apple to get the functionality back into Acrobat.

  • Is it possible to embed a pdf attachment to a pdf output report?

    Hi community,
The question is a little bit complex, cause we do not know if belongs to Reports or tu E-Business-Suite. Our development Team has just created a report for a list of purchased/sold goods, which output is a PDF file.
On the other hand, the customer, is attaching a PDF (an agreement) to the items included in the Sales Orders in the Sales Order Window in the Order Management Responsibility. The customer wants that when they prints the report, the agrreement attached to each item in the sales order, will be printed too.
Is there any way to include the .pdf attachments in a .pdf's output report?
    Thanks

    1. This is not a OAF question, reports forum would be a better place to post the query.
    2. I had the same requirement of merging multiple PDFs in oracle Quoting, what I did was get a third party code from net which joins two PDFs.
So, you need to do this
    1. Have a request set, with two conc programs
    2. Program one in the request set would generate the PDF report as it is doing now
    3. Program two in the request set would go back to the order, see if there is a attachment, if yes, pulls it, calls the third party java PDF merge program, merges both the PDFs and then generate the output, which is a consolidated PDF/

Is it possible to have a PDF form flow to a second page IF the user needs to type in a lot of information? ( Like a Word Doc would)
    An automated second page.

    There are two approaches.
If you wish to use AcroForm technology, then you would need to write a bunch of JavaScript to enable this.  It has been done, but it’s not trivial.
If you wish to use XFA technology, then it can be setup to happen automatically.
Be aware that in both cases, even though both technologies are part of the PDF standard, that the forms will only be usable in this manner in Adobe’s viewers as many others don’t support JavaScript or XFA.
