Possible to merge m4a files?

I have one long voice memo saved on my iPhone and it won't let me email the entire file so I had to send it multiple times in sections. So now I'm stuck with 4 - 2min m4a files that I want to merge into one file.
Anyone know of a way to do this in iTunes? Or maybe even another program that does this?

  • How to merge m4a files

I have dozens of lectures from The Great Courses and have been ripping them in iTunes to use on my new iPod Classic 160gb.  I finally took a break to listen and realized that it would be better to have merged all of the separate files for individual lectures.  I had iTunes set to create m4a files.  I do not want to go back and rip all of the CD's again and choose to merge the files in iTunes.  I read on another post from a few years ago that QuickTime Pro could merge m4a files. But, I looked at the current version's description and there is no mention of merging or joining m4a files.
I don't mind purchasing software to do this but I don't want to purchase it if the software will not merge the files.
So...can QuickTime Pro merge m4a files?

just line them up and set the quality yourself
    1) Video applications do not always work with audio alone as the OP is using.
    2) The OP has already found a solution.  It was a Mac-specific tool whereas the one mention states:
System Requirements of Allok Video Joiner
      *  Windows 98/2000/ME/XP/2003 operating system.
    3) "Set the quality" suggest it is recoding the file which is not necessary and results in quality loss.

  • Possible to merge backup files?

Okay, I've got a set of disks I did a backup to a little while ago, using the Backup application (you know, with the umbrella icon). I finally got around to getting a TB external drive, so now I'd like to transfer those backups onto it.
As you probably also know, if you control-click (left-click) on a backup file, you have the option to Show Contents, which lets you go in, open a disk image of whatever you backed up, and get what you want from it.
So, here's my question: Is it possible to copy those backups to the drive, merge them into one large file, so I can access the disk image of the whole thing that way, or else do something similar which leads to the same result?
I ask because I'd rather not return the files to the main computer, just keep them on the drive and accessible when I want them.
    Thanks

The app, simply named Backup, was originally available only to .Mac users, but is now openly available on Apple's website. It lists "MobileMe account" as one of its requirements. If you do not have a MobileMe account, each backup is limited to 100 MB.

  • Possibility to merge 2 or more pdf files.

    Hi!
I would like to know if it's possible to merge pdf files in one pdf document using any webcenter content complementary tool.
if not, Is there any suggestions by using a 3rd party tool?

  • How do I convert an M4a file to AIFF

I am attempting to convert an audio file using QT into aiff so that i can import it into a Final Cut Pro project. However, I am having trouble converting this file.
    ~Jeryl Marcus

    Boy am I confused.
The audio format of most CD's is already in .aiff format. Just drag it off the CD.
.m4a files can also be "converted" to .aiff via QuickTime (or even in iTunes).
.m4p files (protected) are purchased songs and QuickTime will not convert them. iTunes can be used to create an audio CD (back to .aiff) however.
The last possible problem is the "protected" CD's from Sony. I don't know if they "lock" the individual files or they entire CD.

  • Adobe Acrobat, Print multiple files to PDF and merge open files to closed files?

I have Adobe Acrobat XI Professional.
Print to PDF – How can this be done for more than 15 documents at a time?  Right now, if I select 16 or more documents, I cannot ‘right click’ and choose ‘print’.  Is this a setting issue?  If I have many documents I need to print to PDF at once, it would be helpful if there wasn’t this limitation.  Background: This needs to be done to PDF files created from Adobe Live Cycle (and possibly from other software) because the files cannot be merged unless they are ‘printed to PDF’ first.  I don't know an alternate way to merge these files.
Also, if I have a multi-page PDF open and I need to parse out the pages to different files, is it possible to drag the selected pages out of the open PDF and hover over a closed PDF and have them added to the end of the closed PDF document?  I don't know of a way to do this, but I thought I would check to see if anyone else was aware of a simpler way to parse pages from one document into several pre-existing documents without opening each and dragging the files between them.
    Thanks!

Thank you for your response...I can do the additional step to combine them, the problem that I have is that the documents need to be in chronological order.  If I print them to the pdf printer or export them, either way, windows sorts them and they are no longer chronological.  While I can organize them when I combine them there are many times that there way too many that need combined into one pdf, making it a very inefficient and cumbersome process to do.  So I was in hopes there was a way to just have the pdf printer create one file instead of one for each document, it would keep them in chronological order.  I suppose I could number them on the print to keep them chronological - but when there are 75 or 100 documents it is a bit of a pain to sit there and respond to each document as it is being printed, and then need to do the additional step of combining.  My goal in this process is to gain efficiency so thought I would see if anyone knew how to use the pdf printer to create the single file.

  • JS - Save File as Field Name in the Data Merge Source File

Hi All - I need some help...
I'm trying to figure out the JavaScript code to save an indd file using the data merge source file field value.
    As an example...
Let's say I have an invoice template called template.indd that is linked to invoice.txt.
To make it easy, let's say the text file has 1 field called "invoice number" with a value of 123
    I run data merge.
Now I want to save the merged indd file as 123.indd
I've got everything figured out in JS except getting the source text file data into a variable to use when saving.  This one's been giving me fits for hours!
    Is this possible??
    Thanks very much

Did you ever get this to work?

  • Merging output files with bursting ...

BIP 5.6.3 (eBus 11.5.10.2 + bursting integration patch)
We have a case where we are attempting to burst a subset of the records to a single merged PDF file, with other records being sent to individual files (same template for all records). I thought that I had seen this merging with emails where the xapi:email and xapi:message details were the same (before our development environment was refreshed), but cannot reproduce this now.
When I try this with file system output (xapi:filesystem), I get the following error in the bursting log file:
    --Exception
    duplicate entry: /MergedFileName.pdf
    java.util.zip.ZipException: duplicate entry: /MergedFileName.pdf
Is it possible to generate a merged PDF file (xapi:filesystem) of some of the records?
    Thanks,
    theFurryOne

    Yuvaraj,
As you discovered, it is not possible to use .jdb files from one environment in a different environment.  The .jdb files use an internal format with relationships between files that form the Btree.
I'm glad to hear you were able to use DbDump and DbLoad successfully.

  • Merge PDF files into (preserving layer info)

Is it possible to combine several PDF files into one and preserve the layers of each source PDF into the merged one ?

... not sure SSIS is the correct tool for you unless you're already using it or have other tasks to perform besides merging pdf files.
There is no functionality like that available out of the box, but if you have the right (third party) .Net assemblies then you could use SSIS (Script Task/Component). An other option is to call a tool/batch file via the execute process task.

  • Possible to Merge Reports?

I was wondering if it is possible to concatenate several different reports in PDF format together, so the user can click on a web link that will show multiple reports in one PDF file rather than have to click through to each seperate report.
Can it be done with any version of Oracle Reports, or with any 3rd party software, other than manually building one giant report that is an aggregate of the smaller ones?

    Brian,
I am using a java library (http://www.lowagie.com/iText/) to merge pdf files. There are also other command line tools to merge pdf files like pdcat from Glance (http://www.pdf-tools.com/de/index.html).

  • Import m4a file without metadata

    Using latest itunes 11.0.1.
While it is possible to import a wav file without metadata it seems not to be impossible to import a m4a file without metadata.
The wav file will be stored under "unknown .." folders and displayed in the itunes windows. Now metadata can be added
    via itunes "information".
Does anyone know how to achieve the same with m4a files?

there's no exclude data in 9i you have to use normal export/import with option called row=N like the above post said .
if you need more help about export/import use

  • Opening/importing m4a files

I have a large number of audiobooks as m4a format files. When I open them in iTunes they appear as music files in my library. Is it possible to set iTunes to recognize m4a files as audiobooks?
    Thanks for your help.
    Paul.

Thank you, one and all, for your responses. I have already been doing what you suggest, but you have missed the point which prompted me to make this posting: LARGE NUMBER of m4a files (note: LARGE >= 200) - I have halted after 25 or so awaiting an alternative. So back to my original question:
Is there a way of instructing iTunes 12 to recognize m4a files as audiobooks and NOT music (so that I don't have to alter each one's GET INFO>OPTIONS manually)? It seems this is a default in iTunes but I can't seem to see where this might be changed (an ini file, perhaps, or a registry setting?).

  • Merging Garageband Files

    Hi
I'm getting involved in a music project that will involve me and some other musicians sharing Garageband files. One of us will record some initial tracks, and then will send the file to the others, each making his own contribution. The issue is that in the end, we'll end up with 3 different Garageband files, each with different parts. Is there a way to merge these files so that all the tracks (as well as plug in settings, automation, etc.) can be merged into a single file, so that we can mix the entire song? The only solution I've found involves bringing a mix-down from one file into another, but this looses the ability to adjust the mix on the imported tracks.
    Thanks
    John

The only problem that can arise is when e.g. you send version 1 to, say, the bassist and the guitarist, they are recording their tracks and come up with version 2 and 3, respectively.
What you can do: Open version 2, copy the bass track, open version 3, create an empty bass track, paste the track you just copied. Immediately do a "Save as Archive", otherwise the project won't contain the recording.
I'm not sure if a volume curve is pasted this way (you'd have to lock it to the track before copying). Also, track settings aren't copied, you'd have to manually set them again. Or, if one of the guys created a custom track setting, copy that manually from the GB folder of the other machine (do a Spotlight search by name and put it in exactly the corresponding folder on the other machine).
If possible, you should create all the tracks and their settings in the first place, so each of you has a copy of the project with the same settings.
(I'm not sure this is what you want to do. For groove reasons, I wouldn't encourage recording two parts independently in parallel.)

  • Is it possible to merge /Usr to Root?

So, I've read the messages about not using a separate partition for /Usr.  I'm also getting some errors on bootup because of this.
What I'm wondering is if it's possible to merge /Usr to root?  How can it be done and is it safe?

Thank you so much.  Do you know how this could be done for a total noob.?.
You could start by reading 'man mount', especially the start of the description, and take it from there.
