Possible to place markers while recording?

I plan to do a lot of concert recordings with LP8. It's a pain to split up the tracks after the fact though. My question is this: Can I make markers (perferably with text to store the artist/title) with LP8 to denote the start of each track while it is recording?
Thanks,
Mike

From the LP8 user's manual Page 126 : "You can use the Create Marker key commands to add markers on the fly during playback. "
You can also name and edit the marker names, see LP user's manual Page 128.
I recommend you download the LP user's manual to read more about this in detail.

Is there any way to add markers to a GarageBand project while recording it? If there is not, is there a way to ask Apple to add that feature? On another note is there another Apple product that has that feature (such as Logic Express or Logic Studio)?

it actually doesn't matter what type of project you create, as long as you "show" the podcast track

  • Is it possible to drop markers WHILE you're recording?

I'm a voiceover, and I'd like to replicate a feature I hear about in ProTools.
I use the "Add to Marker List" (F8)  function all the time during playback.  I'd like to be able to drop markers while I'm actually recording, but I don't know if I can, or how to do it.  Anyone have any ideas?

I'll take a "Doh!" on that one.  I swear I tried that already and it didn't work.  Today of course, it does.  Thanks!

  • Set markers while capturing

is there really no tool, no possibility to set markers while capturing on the run? cant imagine apple left out such an important feature ?!?!

just for better understanding: i have to log tons of material for trailers. material without tc. in order not to loose time very often it is important to mark the key moments within a sequence while digitizing. thats the only way to find these parts QUICKLY...
yes, different people need different functions. and therefore the most common functions are standard in almost every NLE

VSTS load test QUESTION : While recording the webPerformanceTest, is it is possible to clear / force to clear cache without stopping or closing the IE on recorder?
I am facing issue, while recording the webtest, our application first time loading any screen calls some requests and 2nd time when browsed the same information if it is available at cache then it will not
    call the requests again.
How can i force the VSTS to clear cache while recording, so that i can record those requests which gets called at the first time.

    Hi SatishK,
    Thanks for your reply.
    >>but my question was while recording (During recording using web test recorder) i want to clear cache.
    Based on your issue,
I did some research about it,
but I still find the official document about it. Generally, I know that if we want to clear the web performance test by the
Cashe Control properties, so I think that it is not possible to clear the cashes when we are recording the web performance.
If you still want to this feature for web performance test, I suggest you could submit this feature request:
http://visualstudio.uservoice.com/forums/121579-visual-studio. The Visual Studio product team is listening to user voice there. You
can send your idea there and people can vote. If you submit this suggestion, I hope you could post that link here, I will help you vote it.
    Thanks for your understanding.

  • Is it possible to record an image while recording a video??

Is it possible to record an image while recording a video??, i know it is possible when the camera is just showing.

Ok i 'm developing an aplication for a hospital where the doctors use the system. For example a pacient goes to take an endoscopy chekup, where the doctor introduces a little camara into the pacient body to see the problem,so the system must be showing that, with this there is no problem JMF uses a Player to do that, the doctor can see what is going on and take a snapshot(image) at the same time. The problem is that when the doctor starts to record a video and at the same time wants to take some snapshot of that video recording.
I use this line of code, but it returns null, and got this message: player doesn't support FrameGrabbingControl.
    FrameGrabbingControl cg
    cg = (FrameGrabbingControl) processor.getControl("javax.media.control.FrameGrabbingControl");

Audition Marker Points: Can a Midi/USB trigger be set up  to place "Markers" on to the timeline during a live recording?

Or you can find a suitable controller such as the original Red Rover or something that supports Mackie control protocol.
Some years ago I built a simple remote controller by buying a cheap USB keyboard and throwing away the keys just keeping the controller chip with it's USB connection. To this I added my own bank of a few push buttons. The most complicated bit of the process was working out the key matrix to trigger the required keyboard ascii commands.

  • Record external audio while recording a video?

    Hello,
I am planning on making a short film but recoding all the footage on my Ipad air, I wounded if it was possible to plug in an external shotgun microphone to use while recording viedo at the same time.
Here is the mic i was planning on getting:

Would it be possible to make the Ipad use this mic instead of its internal one while the camera app is open recording a video?
If this is not the case does anyone know any other way of using an external device to record audio while recording video?
    Thanks for your help!
p.s Not sure if this is the right place to post but I really need help

Have a look at this article, it amy help as well, as far as this mic, I have no idea.

  • Plugging power cord while recording music - zero input

This is a strange problem when recording music via an interface:
When I am recording sound (Amadeus Pro) via a bus-powered firewire-S/PDIF-interface having my 2012 MBA on battery, and during recording I plug in the power cable, there is a complete zero input for one second or so (shown as -infin dB). Sometimes it goes with digital artefacts. Sometimes this also happens when doing other commands while recording.
    Possible reeasons:
    Core Audio goes down
power for the external interface goes off
I never had this problem with my earlier MBP and SL.
    Anybody?

Hi, Jim. Your guess is exactly correct. The DC-in card to which the port is soldered needs to be replaced. It will probably cost at least a couple of hundred dollars to have a technician replace it, or if you're handy, you can buy a used part and replace it yourself for about half that amount:

  • Is there a way to place markers in a multicam clip, and then have those same markers carry over when you select part of the clip for a project (or various projects)?

Is there a way to place markers in a multicam clip, and then have those same markers carry over when you select part of the clip for a project (or various projects)?

Thanks. Beforehand, I was double clicking on the multicam clip and forced to make a marker on either the Cam A or B. I realize now that I can do it in the Event Browser. THANK YOU.
Considering I may create >20 markers per clips for around 10 different interviews, I wish there was a way to bring the Event Brower to the bottom half of the FCPX windows, to resemble the screen orientation when I'm working in an actual project (one could do this in iMovie), and this way the markers could be listed to the left without having all the other event clips around it. Is that clear? Is that possible?

  • Choosing bit depth while recording audio

    Hi,
First, the short version of the question:
Do you know of any simple audio recording app (ie: not a monster audio suite) which takes low CPU usage, and lets you choose the internal bit depth using for audio sampling (ie: sample at PCM16, at PCM24,...)  ?
Now, in case you need it, the long version of the question:
I'm digitizing my huge collection of audio tapes, with my G5 iMac (OSX 10.4). The quality of the recordings is somewhat low, so I don't need a high-end audio card, and I believe the builtin audio card of this G5 is more than adequate for this task (Burr Brown PCM3052 with support for PCM16, PCM24, and AC3 16).
I've done my first tests with the just-released new version of Audacity (2.0.0), which is compatible with 10.4 and higher, so I'm very happy to be able to install a brand-new application in 10.4.
Audacity works fine, but has a couple of issues:
First, you can choose the audio track bit depth, but not the internal bit depth at which you're sampling. In other words, I'd expect to use some selector to choose from PCM16 or PCM24 recording, which is what this iMac seems to support. However, I can only choose the storage bit depth, not the sampling bit depth. I suppose Audacity is recording at PCM24, but I've no way to test this.
Second, it takes about 40% CPU usage while recording (yes, I disabled the realtime graphics update of Audacity... if I don't disable it, usage becomes 60% or higher).
I tried Audio Hijack Pro (well, the last version supporting 10.4), and it won't let me choose the sampling depth either.
So... do you know of any simple recording app which overcomes this issues?
    TIA!
    cesarpixel

although I was looking for something simpler.
Compared to what you describe, my use of GarageBand sounds "simpler."
GarageBand is part of iLife, so it is meant to be easy to use, unlike big brother Logic.  Furthermore, I am using it in a very limited way. When recording, I just set up ONE track, which is pretty easy.
GB records at the best possible quality, up to 24-bit.  I used 16-bit because my source was analog tapes and records, and I did not think it would make the final result any better.  The GB project file serves as my "master copy" for future enhancement.
The best part is editing the full recording of the entire tape/record, into individual songs, then exporting them to iTunes as 256 kbps AAC (or MP3) files, all within GarageBand.  A few of my records had skips, and I was able to edit them out by overlapping two tracks with the same portion of music, and carefully eliminating the skip at the transition between the two tracks.  Also, because the source is analog, there is noticeable background hiss when the music level is low.  It is particularly noticeable at the end of songs that fade out.  To make the hiss fade out along with the music, I gradually adjusted the master volume level downward to zero starting when the music level became low enough for the hiss to be noticeable.  That made the hiss fade out, which helped "hide" it.

  • Insert marker while recording

I saw a video by Dr. Pooja Jaisingh in which she said there is a keyboard shorcut that will insert a marker while recording in Captivate 7.The marker is to mark slides which you need to redo. Can someone tell me the keyboard shortcut to insert this marker, please?
    DJ
PS - I really want to insert a click box with a keyboard shortcut while recording. Apparently, this can not be done. So I thought I'd use this redo marker to mark where I want the click boxes.

There is a shortcut key possible for each interactive object, also for click boxes, look in the Action accordion of its properties. So if you want a big shape button with shortcut Enter (or something else) on each slide to Play...
To time for rest of slide: use CTRL-E on timeline. When you copy/paste the click box it will retain that timing.
On Master slides you can only add shape buttons:
    http://blog.lilybiri.com/why-i-like-shape-buttons-captivate-6
I also did a webinar for Adobe about using shape buttons, but search is down on Adobe's blog site. It is labeled 'Lilybiri's favourite...'
About click boxes: they don't have an object style because by definition they are invisible to the user. hence...
However I don't understand why one of these methods doesn't work for you:
Create a click box on the first slide, time it for rest of slide and use the transform accordion or mouse to resize it to the slide size, then copy it, select all the other slides in the Filmstrip and paste.
Use the existing click boxes that were added automatically on the slides during a Training simulation, resize one of them and make its timing for rest of slide. Then use the small curved arrow in top of the Timing accordion to apply this to all click boxes, same for the Transform accordion to apply the resizing for all click boxes.
Both work for me. Are you sure you were on a regular and not on a master slide?

  • While Recording BDC

    Hi experts,
I m totally new for BDC.So kindly tell me in detail.
I have a requirement that I have to add field in already developed BDC.Tell me steps and...
1.While recording whether we have to enter data or have to use F4 help .
    2. After recording where to go to see the field details.
    Aastha

    Hi,
Just enter the new value in the field you want to record if its already exist just delete that record and give any relevant record. As it is just a recording it will take that value in the developed program.
After creating the program from the recording find out the changed values and comment all the changed things then just give the wa_tab-pono. which is from the loop.
That is there by looping the internal table and edit all those changed values which are recorded and give the work area field in those place  for example see below.
    LOOP AT int_tab INTO wa_tab.
        PERFORM bdc_dynpro      USING 'SAPMP50A' '1000'.
        PERFORM bdc_field       USING 'BDC_OKCODE'
                                      '/00'.
    *INSERTING THE PERNR VALUE*
        PERFORM bdc_field       USING 'RP50G-PERNR'
                                      wa_tab-pernr.            "'00001011'.
Here 00001011 is the recorded value and give the wa_tab-pernr from the loop.
Do like this for all the recorded values.
    Hope u get this concept.
    Thanks,
    Sakthi.

  • LogicX Rec Problem. I can't hear while recording no matter I turn on Auto Input Monitoring at menu or channel. On certain songs I could thru AUX to REC, my L7/8/9 procedure. Now, inconsistent, not work. Any help?

    Logic X Recording Problem
I can't hear (ex.) voice back while recording no matter I turn on Auto Input Monitoring at Record Menu or Channel Strip.
On certain old projects I could when thru AUX to REC, which was my L7/8/9 procedure.
Recording takes place on a consolidated session, all audio tracks with no latency, which actually happens only it can't be heard.
Monitoring is very inconsistent and in fact doesn't work at all. Any help?

Correction: actually "thru AUX to REC channel" is not effective.
It's just that I can input monitor thru an extra AUX channel independently of the REC channel.
Sending the source to be recordered to aux and audio rec at same time.
