Possible to replay first time startup sequence?..

Does anyone know if it is possible to replay the Imac startup sequence? If so, how?
I tried searching and could not find any info on it.

I found it on You Tube, but it's not the same and want to show someone else who missed the initial boot.

FCE 2 first time startup error message.

I am trying to install FCE 2 on a mac mini with 0.5Gig ram. I am using the master disk. I get the following message on startup for the first time. You must have at least 1 Easy Setup file. Please re-install Final Cut Express HD and try again.
I have tried Tom's suggestions. Same problem on the second install. Any ideas. I updated FCE to 2.0.3. The specs list with my account are not correct for this computer. The operating system is 10.4.2.

To whom it may concern:
The IMG_ERR_PAR1 error is a little ambiguous and what I've initially found on it indicates that it pertains to a call made to a previous version of the driver embedded inside your driver install. A couple of ideas:
1) Check that your interface name or board ID is correct in the IMAQ initialization (This is assuming that this error happens when you're running a program to execute a snap or grab. When you said "every first time startup - error occurs," I'm not quite sure what you mean as to when the error actually occurs).
2) What version of the IMAQ driver are you using? I'd recommend that you make sure you have the most recent version available at http://digital.ni.com/softlib.nsf/webcategories/85256410006C055586256BBB002C0D10?o
pendocument&node=132070_US. You'll want IMAQ 2.6.1.
See if this will do anything for you. Best of luck. If we have to go further with this, I'll need more specific information than was initially provided.

Appletv v1 yellow light flashing; won't stop. First time startup.

Just pulled model FA711LL/A from the box for the first time. (Bought it years ago as a backup. Now want to use it.) Plugged in the component cables (no HDMI on my monitor) and the power cord. Yellow light's been flashing for half an hour now and there's no sign that it's sending a signal to the monitor.
What's my next move?

Well, I should have tried this before anything else. I unplugged the Time Capsule from the power source and plugged it back in after about two minutes. Green light appeared immediately. Coincidentally (maybe?), as soon as I did that and returned to Airport Utility, I had a message to update the firmware. I did check for an update earlier in the day, but TC appeared to be up to date at that time. Now I've updated the firmware, TC has restarted, and green light is on. Weired.

Xcode 4 new all in one app, first time startup

Hello dears,
since v4.3 (I think), Xcode comes in an "all in one app", without installer package.
While starting Xcode.app for the first time, a window appears commenting to install additional resources.
Does anyone know the install path of these resources ?

I dont mean the resources from the Xcode menu.
I mean the installs that are necessary and performing at the (only) first start of Xcode.
Reason, I like to check, where they are, and how much, in case of using a SSD and maybe trying a simlink.
Ok, I could test it, overwriting Xcode with a new file from the image.
If the install procedure comes up again, I seems to be located in the app itself.

Resetting the First time startup on new MacBook

I am giving a new MacBook to my daughter, but want to set it up first – using my account; but then would like to have it restart in a few days with the brand new startup screen so that she can input her information. Is that possible? (She is thousands of miles away and I want to verify that everything is working 100% before giving this to her – but want her to enjoy setting-up her new MacBook herself…)

Steve, you will complete steps 1 through 8. Step 8 covers the reinstallation of OS X which in your case is Yosemite. You will make sure OS X Yosemite fully installs. The computer will tell you that the installation is complete.
Steve, once you receive the information that the installation is complete, turn off the computer and then give it as a gift to your pretty daughter.

Possible bug: Stage rotates during startup sequence

Hi,
I'm almost ready to submit an iPad app to Apple but have an issue with the stage rotating during startup. My app is configured to use landscape mode, fullscreen turned on, auto-orient turned off, selected device iPad.
When yo launch the app it shows the default png correctly in landscape mode, then rotates it briefly to portrait before snapping back to lanscape again when the app has fully launched.
I tried a suggested workaround using
stage.align = StageAlign.TOP_LEFT;
stage.scaleMode = StageScaleMode.EXACT_FIT;
That didn't seem to make any difference. I also tried
stage.addEventListener( StageOrientationEvent.ORIENTATION_CHANGING, onOrientationChanging );
public function onOrientationChanging( event:StageOrientationEvent ):void { event.preventDefault(); }
but again this made no difference.
Any help appreciated. This problem is preventing me from submitting to Apple as I do not believe they would let this pass.
An earlier app of mine for iPhone which was packaged using an earlier (a very early, as in before year's MAX early) version of the packager did not exhibit this behaviour.

thanks again. The initial issue is now resolved by using the addtional Default images. For some reason I've never seen this mentioned before, maybe it's because the Adobe docs mainly focus on iPhone.
I've still got one remaining issue which the user in another post also witnessed and that is one where the stage briefly seems to resize to a samller size, then flicking back to normal size. This happens at the exact same time where previously the rotation has shown up. It's not a huge issue but annoying nevertheless. I'm also concerned that Apple will pinpoint issues like this upon submission.
Any advise?

First Time Startup CRASH

I still haven't been able to open up Motion on my new MacBook. All software is up-to-date. Sometimes it won't open at all. Sometime I get as far as the Template menu. The furthest I've gotten is past the first menu and then I get the spinning apple and nothing ever happens. Usually it just crashes before all that. I've only gotten the "report this" crash menu once, and Motion has crashed at least two dozen times. I don't have any other programs running at the same time, and nothing is attached to the computer.

I'll be ordering this. I am sure this has caused many a headache for mac users and for apple themselves. All the macbook users having to crash it a couple dozen times, then go and hunt the upgrade explanation, and then photocopying your install discs, and then pay another $49! Is this really Apple we are dealing with. What happened to simple and intuitive?

First time startup- Blinking amber light. Not sure what to do.

So I just got my airport express and when i first started getting the airport utility downloaded for windows xp, i used my modem (time warner ubee modem) ethernet cable and all but I am just getting a blinking amber light. I don't know if it hasn't configured if I need to wait longer for to initally start. I am kind of derp when it comes to networking, so..

A persistent, flashing amber light indicates that any of the several potential conditions may require your attention:
The base station has not yet been configured because it is new, or the reset switch has been set.
You have selected a security configuration that is not recommended.
One of several other conditions, such as a disconnected Ethernet cable or invalid IP address has been detected.

If you run the AirPort Utility, it will show an amber circle on the summary page next to the area(s) causing the problem. Click on this amber circle and it should provide an explanation. Please post back your findings.

First Time "STARTUP" command

I just installed 8i Enterprise successfully on a Sun Ultra 5 box with Solaris 8.
After I log into the box as the "oracle" user, I issue the "sqlplus" command. It then asks me for user name, I type: "sys/oracle as sysdba" and it comes back with "connected to an idle instance".
Finally, at the "SQL>" prompt, I type "STARTUP OPEN PFILE=$ORACLE_HOME/dbs/mypfile.ora" and it returns:
ORA-24323 value not allowed
ORA-03113 end-of-file on communication channel
I have verified that I do have the correct pfile, for the Installer made it during installation.
Please HELP!!!

Before we go any further we need to find out which version of Java is causing the problem. In the Terminal program, type "java -version" (without the quotes) and observe the behaviour. Hopefully, you'll get the long delay you mentioned earlier, but it will eventually print out the java version. This should serve to identify exactly which Java version has the problem. If you don't get the long delay, or it hangs without ever printing out the version then you need to follow these steps. In Terminal type:
cd /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/1.3/Commands
./java -version
cd /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/1.4/Commands
./java -version
cd /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/1.5/Commands
./java -version
(you can cut and paste these commands from here)
With any luck this will identify the faulty Java version. Come back when you know which one it is.

New computer -- newly installed CS6 Production Suite Photoshop crashes on first time startup, reboot

I just got my beautiful new computer, custom designed, with 12 gb memory, solid state drive, HDMI 27" monitor, with a second DVI monitor, liquid cooling, Windows 7 Pro -- the works. However, installing CS 5.5 works fine. I wanted to try the cloud, but every program just crashed, and Windows reboots. So, I tried upgrading to CS6. Unfortunately, the same problem. Bridge works fine -- but, no other program in the Suite works at all -- all crash on start up, and Windows gives me the dreaded blue screen, and reboots.
Help! Just spent a huge bundle on this system and software, and am stuck. And tomorrow's a work day!

Good plan as believe that load without plugins. 3rd party fonts and plugins, along with drivers are most common causes of crashes.
Did you update the video card driver from makers site? CS6 and CC stresses it a lot more than CS5.5

Startup sequence (WTC/WLEC/EAR)

Hello,
I am using WLS 6.1 SP3.
Is it possible to set up the startup sequences so that WTC is always started first;
then WLEC starts up and set its connection to Tuxedo; then the EAR file is deployed?

I think you should be able to edit the config.xml and specify that you want to
load the WTC (et. al.) startup class components before the ear by specifying a
LoadBeforeAppDeployments attribute in the StartupClass element. I have included
a config.xml 'fragment' below

Is it possible to execute a Bookmarked query the first time a page is rende

Hi,
We are in the process of creating certain dashboards for our product using Endeca.
We have defined some metrics in the Metric Bar component, and want some useful information to be visible to the user the first time the user comes to this page.
As of now, these metrics look to be very generic in nature, but give useful information once the user starts searching. Some examples of these Metrics are - Supplier Count, Category count, etc. These won't make much sense to the end user without a context. Hence, we want this context to be present the very first time the user comes to this page.
The easiest solution seems to be creating a Bookmark, and being able to execute that the first time the page renders.
Is this possible to do? If yes, how?
Also, are there any other ways to achieve this result, other than using the Bookmark component?

Is this possible to do? If yes, how?To achieve this option, first create the bookmark and then under action within the bookmark portel click on Create Link. Copy everything after the question mark. Next go to manage package and paste the copied text into the Query String text box.
Also, are there any other ways to achieve this result, other than using the Bookmark component?Option two would be to utilize deep linking method to access the page.

Lion - startup fails first time, second time fine

So here's a weird issue… it started a week ago, every time I shut my Mac down and start, the first time it tries to start fails. I have FileVault enabled, so I enter my password, the grey screen appears, the wheel under the Apple logo starts spinning and after a while it just restarts. I enter my password again and it boots just fine.
But only the second time.
I tried verbose boot to see what's going on, but I don't really understand much of what it says. I took some pictures, I don't know if there's a startup log somewhere.

I just don't understand it, because the second time it always boots with no problem, but the first time the above happens. I unfortunately can't take it to a genius bar as there is no Apple Store in Brazil and my Portuguese isn't good enough to explain that to someone.

I have an imac osx 5 months old. For the first time today I can not open my desktop folders which are very important to me. How can I open these folders.
The message when I click on the folder is "appleworks 6 quit unexpectedly". I can not open the folder. Is it possible that new software installed could cause the problem when I get the message "new softward available for your computer, install now. Maybe I should never install upgrade. Please help in layman's language how to open my folders. Thanks.

In a related matter, I got word from the PC side of the house that similar techniques are being used by drive-by infections that were injecting code into a running app which would disappear when they quit the app. A one-time infection, so to speak. Makes it really hard to even know you were temporarily infected, let alone how, why, what damage, etc.
