Possible to Save Track Info (pan, volume, FX, instrument, etc.) as text?

Is there an easy way to save each track's info from a song? ie. Each track's instrument, volume, pan, effects, etc. in a text file.  Thanks!

Hi there! Yes there a even easier way to save your settings. You can save them and name them as "profiles" that you can use in future projects. I will be creating a tutorial sometime this week or next on how to do this extra. I can not mix music in about 15 mins now where it use to take me 2-4 hours. Check out the links before to Join and subscribe to be notified when the upload goes up. Thanks!

  • I need to change the input level and I can not open the track info pane in the new garageband. Can you help me?

I have tried the help menu. It only shows how to open the track info pane in the old garageband. It shows the info button, which is not in garageband anymore. I need to open the track info pane to change the input level. If there is another way to do this please tell me.

Open the "Smart Controls" for your track, and then press the Info button .
The "record level" slider is at the top of the Info panel below the track heads.

in GBv10 you open the Smart Controls (knob icon) to get the basic controls (it does not offer the flexibility of version 6's Track "i"nfo, though).
v10 does still support AU plug-ins, though:

  • My Garageband 09 track info pane is not refreshing

I've recently opened some imported projects on my Garageband '09 and for a little while my track info pane updates as expected, but shortly after starting to work on the project it stops displaying Real Instrument and Master Track adjustable settings and windows. I can hover over where they are supposed to be and click to get them to pop up, but I can't see what's there, if they are on or off, etc.
Does anyone know why this is happening and how to get it to refresh normally? I have never had this issue in the past working with other files from the same batch.
Running a 09 macbook pro 13" with 10.8.2, using an M-Audio iControl. 8GB ram, at least 5 free during the run.
    Thanks,

  • Is it possible to automate tracking info from a local db to bc?

    Hi
I would love to automate our AWB and TRACKING URL from our local database into BC.
Is there a method of doing this using WebServices?
I want to send three values to BC - invoice #,  AWB, and tracking URL.
    Any recommendations or case studies?
    much appreciated, thanks!

    Spookie,
You can update an order or CRM form (attached to order) via the webservices API, you can send any and all the data you need. You'll have to setup a system a middle man server (or use your existing backend) to download the order and match it to the BC order and on a timer or when the data is available from your other system update the order on BC. I've done this with for a customer and Fedex to give real time tracking numbers within 1 min of the order placed.

  • URGENT PLEASE HELP ME FIGURE OUT HOW TO DE-GREY THE TRACK INFO VOLUME?

I don’t hear sound from a Real Instrument
Some conditions may cause you not to hear the sound when you sing into a microphone or play a musical instrument connected to a Real Instrument track.
If you don't hear sound from a Real Instrument, try the following:
Make sure your microphone or instrument is connected to your computer, is turned on, and is working.
Make sure the correct Real Instrument track is selected.
Make sure that the track is not muted, and that no other tracks are soloed.
Open the Track Info pane and check that the correct input channel and input format are selected for the instrument. Make sure that input monitoring is turned on for the track.
Make sure the volume slider for the track is not all the way to the left.
Make sure the output volume for your computer’s speaker, or the external speakers you are using, is set high enough to hear the sound from the instrument.

  • Track info vocal transformer

there is an effect that one can create in the track info pane of any given track, the one i'm reffering to is the 'vocal transformer' here u can change the pitch of the track, but i'm unsure of what the increments are in. ive changed the pitch up +5, so is that 5 semitones, tones, a fifth, what?
Also was wondering what the slider is underneath the pitch one, it just says sound high and low. I hope that this isn't too vague!
    thanks people.
    Anthony

    So +5 is a fourth.
And for people who aren't familiar with formants: "higher" makes the voice more "female" and "lower" more "male", without changing the pitch. This slider works best when applied delicately.

    Hi.
Is it possible to get track info for a file / album after it has been ripped, or will iTunes only do this on CD insertion?

You can get track info on files that have already been imported into itunes. You don’t have to always do it from a CD. If the files were imported with itunes to begin with. Then all you have to do is select all of the tracks for that CD. And go to the "Advanced" menu and select "Get CD Track Names". It will ask if you want to get CDDB information for multiple items. Select "OK" and off you go. Itunes is going to treat the tracks like they are a CD.
I hope this helps. I was thrilled when originally I found this out.

  • Grey Volume Bar in Track Info

On my real instruments, the volum bar that is just below INPUT in side the Track Info Window is greyed out and does not adjust. It is frozen. It is this way on every real instrument.
I have searched this forum, but have not found a solution to this problem.

He's probably got a slightly different setup then. I just checked, to be certain, and the slider is disabled when I set my system to Line-in.
Control the level from System prefs, not GB.

  • I've imported some midi tracks, used the mixer to set pan, volume etc, but when I stop playback and restart it sets every midi track back to '0'. I've been using LE for years, this is a new one, any ideas?

    Hi,
that's because Logic reads the volume information out of the imported MIDI tracks and sets the volume fader according to this information. The MIDI information overrides volume settings you have done, so you have to identify the MIDI events that contain volume (or expression or pan or whatever) information and delete them. You can use the event list editor for this.

  • HELP!! Volume slider dimmed in track info--using Shure 8900W mic + iMic

After much back and forth at the Apple Retail store, I was talked into buying a Shure 8900W microphone plus a Griffin iMic for recording vocals in GB3. I'm on a MacBook Pro running Tiger (10.4.7).
I've done all the right stuff--in both system preferences and GB preferences the iMic is recognized and selected. I know GB recognizes and hears the mic because I see the feedback in the track, but the sound isn't coming out.
I've noticed that the volume slider in track info is dimmed, and I can't seem to do anything to change that. Is that the problem? Can I do anything short of buying a whole new mic?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Is the monitor (in the Track Info) switched on or off? Have you checked what driver is being used for audio output (in the GB prefs)? If you can confirm that sound is being picked up/recorded by the mic (either by seeing the green/orange/red level monitor respond to input, or by seeing recorded regions with audio waveforms displayed), then it should be some relatively simple setting somewhere that's keeping you from hearing stuff.
Sound is definitely being picked up/recorded by the mic. I do see the monitor responding to input, and the waveforms are registering sound when I use the mic. I just can't find the relatively simple setting that is keeping me from hearing stuff.
Interestingly, after I posted this help message, I connected my mic and iMic to my PowerBook and was able to easily record and playback in GB. Does this issue have something to do with the Intel transition?
    Thanks for all your feedback.

  • Song volume drops when I edit track info

Just ran into a strange hiccup.
I recorded a song, saved it as an AAC audio file, dragged it into iTunes.
The song plays just fine in iTunes but obviously the track info is incomplete -- the name is the name of the file I saved and there is no artist, no album, no artwork, bla bla bla.  So I did the "Get Info" thing and made the needed edits.
But -- and now it gets weird -- when I play the song with more info the volume is much diminished.
I can increase the volume under Options in Get Info but something ain't right.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks
    I'm running iTunes 11.4 (18) on an iMac with OS X 10.9.4

Hello Andy, You're not talking to Apple here, this is a user-to-user forum.
I don't really understand your issue....do you mean the track number in the column Track# disappears, the x of y thing?

  • Volume slider in track info grays out with audio interface

I'm using a Presonus Inspire interface for mic and guitar. But in new tracks, the volume slider in track info grays out when I plug it in. Prefs recognizes the interface and I set audio in and out on Inspire. Signal comes through the headphones, but no signal in GB because the volume slider in track info is all the way to the left and grayed out.
    Ideas?
    Thanks!

  • I have garage band ver 10.0.2 and am trying to add effects to an audio track but i have no info button or track info under the track tab.  How do i get these things to show up on my program?

I have garage band ver 10.0.2 and am trying to add effects to an audio track but i have no info button or track info under the track tab.  How do i get these things to show up on my program?

In GarageBand 10.0.2 you can no longer add all kinds of effects freely; this GarageBand '11 feature has been discontinued. Pick one of the predefined patches that already has the effects you want.
However, you can add effects from the predefined audio units.
You'll see the predefined effects on the track, when you open the Smart Controls. To add audio units, click the button and enlarge the the smart controls pane by dragging the dividing line to the Track Area upwards.

  • Unable to edit track info in iTunes on a Mac Air

    Hello,
I recently switched from a windows PC to a Mac Air. All my music was organizaed on an external hard drive. I have now imported the music in to my iTunes on my Mac Air. I am unable to edit individual track info when I use "Get Info". I tried to look up for permissions on the particular folder and found that they are all set as "Read Only".
Any help in this matter is appreciated.

Go to your Music (media)  folder. The one that holds the actual files.
Click it and press Cmd+I or right click and select "Get Info"
In the Info pane, click the lock to change permissions:
You'll need to tnter your password to make any chnages.
Set ALL permissions to Read & Write
Click the Gear and select "Apply to enclosed items..."
Then click "OK" when asked if you're sure.
Let it apply to everything and THEN try editing the track oinfo.
