Possible to start an additional iCloud account on a 2nd older iPad?

Greetings,
My family has several iPads. Originally they were all set up under my Apple account. I'd like to set up one of them to be under my wife's Apple account. I read where to do that I need to delete the iCloud account from that particular iPad and create a new one (for her).
My question is, if I delete the account from one iPad, will it affect the other iPads? Will that accont be deleted across all iPads? What are the repercussions for deleting the iCloud account on a single iPad in an environment where there are multiple computers, multiple iPads and multiple users?
Thank you,
Tim

Hello Jovi Guitarist,
If I understand correctly you are unable to use the password reset email that gets sent because you cannot identify the email address that one of the iPads is registered to, and you cannot reset the security questions because the date of birth is being rejected. At this point you may need to reach out to the Account Security team for additional assistance. Keep in mind you will need to verify the account information to receive support.
If you forgot the answers to your Apple ID security questions
If you can't reset your security questions
If you couldn't send a reset email, don't have a rescue email address, or can't access email at your rescue email address, contact Apple Support. Apple may ask you to generate a temporary support PIN to verify your identity. After you reset your security questions, you might want to update your rescue email address.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
All the very best,
Sterling

  • Is it possible to create a new iCloud account and permanently transfer existing store purchases to it?

Is it possible to create a new iCloud account and permanently transfer existing store purchases to it?

Thank you for taking the time to try to answer my question. Let me phrase it slightly differently...
I have a very old appleid that I've used for store purchases. I had a MobileMe account that was upgraded to iCloud. I'd like to merge the account data. I've been hoping Apple would come up with a solution to this, but they haven't yet.
So, I'm wondering if I should make a new account of some sort and try to transfer data to it from both of the old accounts. It sounds like that can't work.
I suppose then that the only thing to do is manually transfer all the information from the old MobileMe account to the primary appleid (which is some sort of iCloud + Store combination, no?). That might not be that hard to do, but it is somewhat high risk.

  • TS3988 Can I set up additional icloud accounts just for Find My iPhone?

i have 5 iphones, 4 of which are under my icloud account id.  I'd like to know if can have access to my son's iphone location with the Find My iPhone app using his icloud account information on my iphone.

Yes.  You don't need to set up or use additional iCloud accounts on your phone to do this.  You can track any device using Find My iPhone from your phone by downloading the free Find My iPhone app, then in the app signing into the iCloud ID that the device(s) you are trying to track are using.

  • I seem to have at least two, and maybe four, iCloud accounts, across my iPhone, my iPad and my MacBook Pro. Can I combine them into one iCloud account?

I seem to have at least two, and maybe four, iCloud accounts, across my iPhone, my iPad and my MacBook Pro. Can I combine them into one iCloud account? I have been able to log into what appears to be three of the four iCloud accounts I have. Two of them seem to be remarkably similar, and one appears to be only for my MacBook.I think I know which one my iPhone is backing up to, as I successfully restored from a back-up last week. The fourth iCloud account I can't access via password or security questions. Any advice would be much appreciated.
    Thanks.

    You cannot merge accounts.

I started with one itunes account for my iphone and ipad, and now have a second ipad linked to the same itunes.  Can I set up a new itunes account for one ipad without losing what has already been downloaded on it?  I want to stop my husbands downloads appearing on my ipad, and vice versa.

A much simpler solution would be to go into Settings > Store and turn off Automatic Downloads

  • My iPhone and iPad are on my moms icloud account and i just got a macbook air and i want all my devices on my own iCloud account - i went to all of my settings and it won't let me change my iCloud account on my phone and iPad. can i change this?

You will have to do more than simply changing settings in your moms account. To set up everything in your own account, go to Settings > iCloud > scroll down and press sign out. From this, check out this link for how to setup iCloud on all of your devices after making a new icloud account on your phone: https://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/
Before you set that up, you will have to make a new iCould account which you can simply do after you sign out of your mom's account on your devices.
    Hope I can help!

  • How can you check a different iCloud account in safari in an iPad?

How can you check a different iCloud account in safari in an iPad?

As currently designed, you cannot. Once iCloud detects you are on mobile Safari, it switches you to the iPad screen.
If you had another browser that would allow you to pretend you were a desktop Safari client, ie8 or 9, or Firefox, that might work.
But, Puffin and Opera mini don't work.

    Hi there
I had the same problem and I found this answer to a similar question to ours, so I copied and pasted it for you
Reset the device by holding down the home button and the sleep/wake button at the same time for approximately 10 seconds.  After it resets the message will be gone and you can go to settings > icloud and put in your password.
That seems to be a bug with the password alert where it won't respond correctly sometimes.
    Hope this helps

  • TS3988 Ow can another iCloud account log in on my iPad

How can another iCloud account log in on my iPad if they need to use it

This feature has been introduced to make stolen phones useless to those that have stolen them.
However it can also arise when the user has changed their Apple ID details with Apple and not made the same changes to their iCloud account/Find My Phone on their device before upgrading to iOS 7.
The only solution is to change your Apple ID back to its previous state with Apple at My Apple ID, verify the changes, enter the password as requested on your device and then turn off "find my phone".
You should then change your Apple ID back to its current state, verify it once again, delete the iCloud account from your device and then log back in using your current Apple ID. Finally, turn "find my phone" back on once again.

  • Is it possible to have a joint iCloud account on iPad & iPhone and have seperate messaging?

    Hi,
I have an iPad (wi-fi only) and an iPhone. They both share the same iTunes account so that apps / music are available on both devices but I currently have seperate iCloud accounts for them.
What i want to know though is..... is it possible to have them on the same iCloud account for syncing between devices but to have the messaging to still be seperate? i.e. i don't want to see messages sent to my iPhone on the iPad and vice versa.
Currently in the settings for iMessage the iPhone has it's iCloud e-mail address in there and the iPad has it's icloud e-mail address in there so if they are both on the same iCloud account does that mean i lose the ability to keep the messaging seperate? And if it doesn't how do i need to set things up so as to keep messaging seperate for each device?
I hope that all makes sense???
    Thanks
    David.

Yes, you can use the same iCloud and separate iMessage and FaceTime by using your second ID for these services.

  • Is it possible to setup separate 2 iCloud accounts?

Hi, I want to setup a separate email account using iCloud because it is for "less important" emails.
I don't this this is possible from what I can see, but can you please confirm this for me?  I have one at the moment which is  my main account
    Thank you

I do not use outlook so I am not Positive about what will happen.
You can add as many iCloud (@me.com or @mac.com), imap, and pop accounts as you want in the setup I described.
Others, I think, were thinking you wanted to add two iCloud accounts to a single iCloud login.
You cannot setup a second account on iCloud.
You can set up 2+ iCloud accounts on a Mac in Apple Mail or on an iPhone in Mail.
You can set up other imap and pop accounts on a Mac in Apple Mail or on an iPhone in Mail.
From what you say, Outlook seems to be an imap account so may work, but can't say for sure since MS often does things different that everyone else.
If I understand what you are doing - the Outlook-imap account will sync to all machines that it is set up on BUT make sure you leave mail on the server, put copies of sent mail on the server, leave deleted mail on the server, and even leave junkmail on the server.  If you download them to your machine things May not look the same everywhere.  Imap is better that pop was at this, but you could still lose something under certain circumstances.
Mail used to ask what type of account and you had to select iCloud, imap, pop, etc.  Now it seems to recognize the Apple servers automatically and fill them in properly as iCloud accounts.  For my other accounts I had to tell it imap or pop.  I do not know how the outlook works.
I would just try the defaults if it was auto-filled in first - unless you know otherwise.
But be sure to set up the program to leave everything on the server.  That way if something is wrong you won't lose an email.
    - You say its incoming is an imap server, imap-mail.outlook.com, so just set it up like any imap account is what I suspect.
    - Outgoing will always be an smtp server somewhere so that is likely right.
    - Use only - if you send an email from an account and it can't get out on the server it will try others unless you have this filled in.  Most smtp servers will send only mail only For addresses of an account on that service so it is most likely best to click it. What will happen is if it can't get out right away it will wait in the outbox until it can.
    - Alias is only for an account where you can and do have one.  If you have an alias on your outlook account and want to use it on the Mac you will need to fill it in.
    - Authentication is different for different servers.  Check Outlook help to see if it gives any hints as to how to setup on a different mail program - But it may not.  Apple id more likely to give you directions on how to set up on a Windows machine that MS is to give directions for an Apple machine

  • Possible to have two separate iCloud accounts in MAIL?

I have successfully added my spouse's new iCloud account in the Mail app on my family's shared iMac OSX10.7.5, but Mail Prefs won't allow me to change his account's nickname, which is currently iCloud. My iCloud account is the primary account on this iMac. Thanks.

How do you do it, basically I have an iPad but family member has one which needs to be set up and added to iTunes but we do not want the same apps and stuff on the iPads. How do I create a separate accounts for me and them, I already have mine with my stuff, will it interfere with it ?
