Possible to swap HD from Pavilion g6 to Entertainment dv5 - both are Win 7

HD functions on g6, but CD/ DVD croaked and Microsoft ISATAP adapter fails to initialize. Have posts about this in Lockups and Freezes and other HP Forum subjects.
HD is only thing I know of that's bad on dv5.
Or - should I try to swap dv5 CD/ DVD to g6?
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Swapping hard drives between the two laptops is hit or miss as to whether it would boot in the g6 and likely would be a technical violation of the Microsoft EULA. You could wipe the dv5 drive drive and use it to reinstall software on the g6, however. The CD/DVD drives should be able to be swapped but you would have to transplant faceplates.

You have to buy a new laptop or swap the system/motherboard or buy an Express card - USB 3 (I've got one) or PC card - USB 3. For desktop , this is much simpler, a PCI - USB 3 card will do.

Licenses are platform specific, so a Windows version will not install/activate on a Mac. Platform swaps are only supported for the most recent release (CS6). The only way you might be able to do that is to have a Windows emulator installed on the Mac so that you have the required environment.

Is it possible to delete files from time machine? I had a drive crash, restored the files to a new drive, and now the old versions and the new versions of the files are both backed up, taking up a mountain of drive space. Hi, I need help in a related problem. I have 500gb time capsule. I needed larger hard drive, so I now use TM to back up to a different 1tb hard drive. So I don't need the TC as a TM back up device. But I want to use the TC's hard drive as an extra external hard drive. I deleted the files that were on it. but it still shows it has a sparsebundle file with a size of over 400gb ( probably the size of the old backups). When I use disk utility to try to erase it, I am not offered the erase tab. This "disk" does show on the desk top as a mounted disk (I think) with only 53 gb free. How can I set this up so all the disk space is free and I can use it for storing files, not as a back up? Thanks

Is it really possible to operate iTunes from external hard drive?

The internal hard drive on my Mac Book Pro is full and most of it is music for iTunes. I have been told that it is possible to operate iTunes from a library on an external drive but it hasn't worked for me. I have moved the iTunes folder on to my external hard drive. Then I did two things...First, I opened iTunes while pressing the "alt" key. Then I clicked on "choose library" and directed it to the iTunes folder on the external hard drive. Second, I opened Preferences>Advanced>iTunes Media Folder Location and then clicked on "Change" and directed that to the iTunes folder on my external hard drive. It should work right? Well, it worked the day that I did it but the next day I had "!" beside every song in my library of nearly 10,000 songs. It says that it can't find the location of the song file and asks if I would like to find it. When I show it where the file is it works but it will take me forever to do that with each individual song. Can this really be done successfully?

Luckily I had it backed up on another partition of my hard drive using Time Machine. So, I deleted the iTunes folder and started over.
I dragged the iTunes folder over last night to the partition on my hard drive that I want to operate iTunes from. It took about an hour or so to copy the files over but the iTunes folder looks organized the way it should be again. Then I Alt>Clicked on iTunes in the dock and picked create library. Then I directed it to the new iTunes folder. Next I chose preferences>Advanced>Change media folder location and directed that to the new Itunes folder. Then it asked me if I would like iTunes to organize the folder(or something to that effect). I can't remember exactly but I chose "No" or "Cancel" this time, I didn't the first time. It has been working ever since but I am waiting for something to go wrong. Because, it worked last time for a day and then stopped.

I'm a pro photographer and I need to transfer photos from my camera, edit them, copy photos to my iphone and send via 4G network to an editor.
